ROUND TWO: MATCH-UP TWO
Remember, this is NOT about who would win in a fight. This is about who makes the best leader for Mandalore as a whole.
Explanation post
Seeding
Propaganda below the cut! You can submit more on this post and I will reblog it back to here!
New Propaganda
Anon: My propaganda for Bo-Katan vs Cody specifically: Bo-Katan quite literally spends her whole life trying to restore Mandalore. She works hard and tries to right her wrongs, and she does in the end. She wants what's best for Mandalore, even if it comes at a cost (she was willing to trade the Darksaber in for Mandalore's safety!!!). - Meanwhile Cody is not even a Mandalorian.
Bo-Katan Kryze
Anon: Bo-Katan propaganda: she babysat a Jedi child without the child dying or killing anyone and leading a planet is basically just babysitting a child on a big scale right
Anon: Bo-Katan spent like three years as a terrorist but she also spent 30 years rebelling against fascists so idk I'm willing to hear her out on this. Welcome back Princess Leia 👏
Anon: As Satine's sister, she would have received much the same early training and education in how to rule their Duchy on Kalevala, as she alluded to in her comments in The Mandalorian - while her involvement in Death Watch is perhaps not a mark in her favor, she did seemingly have many years of experience working as Pre Vizsla's lieutenant, and earned the trust of many of his followers who defected to follow her following Pre's death and Maul's claiming of the Darksaber and throne of Mandalore, forming the bulk of her fighting force during her efforts to reclaim that throne during the Siege of Mandalore - during the Rebels timeline, she has lost the throne once again due to an Imperial-backed coup, but seems to have been working to resist the Empire's rule; during this time, she is chosen to be the figurehead and rallying point of that apparently unsuccessful effort - finally, during the time of The Mandalorian, she has been rallying the surviving clans to reclaim the Darksaber as a stepping stone for reuniting their people; after her work with Din Djarin and the Armorer, she once again is selected by her people to be their leader as they work to rebuild their reclaimed home planet
Anon: Bo-Katan should be the Mand'alor because, while having done a LOT of shit, she tried her best to free Mandalore from the Empire and to give her people the safety they lost when the New Mandalorian Government fell - She worked to redeem herself, and she got back up every time she fell. She united the people of Mandalore from every aspect and kept the warrior traditions alive
@lightsaberwieldingdalek: Literally the only reason I can think of for Bo-Katan to rule is that she’s stubborn. She doesn’t stop trying to get Mandalorians organized and on their homeworld. Kinda a Robert the Bruce and a spider in a cave style parable, except instead of the English she’s trying to fight her own bad actions/behavior towards others
Anon: Bo-Katan propaganda: you know that quote about "It's hard for a good man to be king?" Well considering she's a terrible person she'd actually be pretty good at ruling Mandalore.
COMMANDER CODY
Anon: Propaganda for Commander Cody: - Cody was a student of Alpha-17, who in turn had been personally trained by former Mand'alor Jango Fett, giving him a strong training lineage claim to the title - Cody's service as Marshall Commander in the GAR gave him a lot of the diplomatic, organizational, and military experience needed to govern a planet like Mandalore
@spacetime1969: This man has led more people at once than anyone on this list.
Anon: Cody should be Mand'alor because it would be unspeakably sexy
@cha0s-cat: Cody has experience with negotiating from accompanying Obi-Wan, he leads a massive amount of his brothers already. Can recognize when there is a need for negotiations vs a need for violence. This would balance out the majority of the two factions (pacifists/traditionalists) excluding the extremists on either end. And with the amount of chaos that he has to deal with when it comes to Obi-Wan and Anakin, this would probably be relaxing.
@skykind: - Has resisted fascism and its attendant police/military state at great personal risk (Bad Batch 2.3), which is apparently necessary to successfully govern Mandalore so long as Death Watch is fully armed and also backed by someone more cunning than their usual leadership (Clone Wars 5.15). - Possesses exceptional leadership and organizational ability from his time as one of the highest-ranked Clone officers of the GAR. The Clone Wars and Bad Batch narratives furthermore present him as Obi-Wan’s peer, so he should be interpreted as equally skilled, wise, kind, and unhinged-in-battle as Obi-Wan. Jury’s out on the sarcasm. - Turns to diplomacy before fighting (Bad Batch 2.3). - Has caught a Jedi’s lightsaber mid-battle at least two times (Clone Wars 1.20 and Revenge of the Sith). This is a very useful skill to have as the prospective or current leader of people who keep chucking the darksaber about. - Has returned a lightsaber to a Jedi at least two times. This is a crucial skill to have as the prospective or current leader of people who should stop selecting said leader via darksaber acquisition.
@antianakin: [From the Boba vs Cody poll] So in a very practical sense, if I'm just looking at it with the question of "Who actually has the skills to be a good leader of people" [between Boba and Cody] then the answer is undoubtedly Cody. Cody was trained his entire life presumably to be a Commander in a large army and seems to do that very successfully for three years. He seems fairly humble, has good teamwork skills, he's kind and understanding and merciful, and he's a very skilled fighter. All of this would serve him exceedingly well if he chose to take on a leadership position, on Mandalore or otherwise. - The one downside to Cody is that Cody shows exactly zero interest in Mandalore at all. Cody does not identify as a Mandalorian at any point and never seems like he'd want to, let alone LEAD the Mandalorians. I do not personally see Cody actually being WILLING to lead Mandalore if offered the opportunity, even if he'd definitely have the skills to do so. I feel like if it were offered to him or fell into his lap somehow, he'd just pass it off immediately to the next most qualified person who was interested in it. Mandalore is not his problem or his responsibility and he's not about to change that.

the main talking point of a lot of people that love eah but bash on descendants is that "eah was deep!! descendants was just a disney knockoff that meant nothing and was just a cashgrab" SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP (to be clear i am an eah lover). analytical thoughts to follow:
consider also, that auradon is portrayed as very technologically advanced in direct opposition to the isle being associated with magic (even with its ban) and a lot of of clearly second hand, worn and torn fridges and tvs and whatever
also, the fact that she felt PRESSURED to not only culturally assimilate into auradon culture, but alter her physical appearance to assimilate further. consider mal's costuming in the first movie. on the isle, we see her with (what i assume is her natural) purple hair, leather, etc. she is even, to a degree, gender nonconforming. pretty much the ONLY time we see her in skirts is when she's trying to impress ben for her plan to work
compare this with the hair costuming in descendants 2:
(i actually can't remember which scenes the third one was in but whatever) they have taken away her sparkle!! she's assimilated firstly into auradon fashion by dressing in pastels like them, and in SKIRTS which she textually only wore in the first movie when she wanted to impress ben. now with the added context of her wanting to impress auradon. and it really speaks a lot that she feels she has to conform to gender norms more in order to be accepted by auradon
and what about hair. she's felt the need to not only change the way she dresses, but change her hair to the eurocentric standard, so blonde that it's almost WHITE to conform to auradon's society (because let's be real, her mum's a fairy/dragon and her dad is a greek god. i'd be MORE surprised if she was DYING her hair purple than it being natural). changing your natural hair in order to to conform to and be accepted by the majority... where have i heard that one before??
shoutout to @soniccat
(to be clear. it is not a one for one analogy. "hey using a spell to force someone to forget what you did is an invasion" to me is like going "well actually people were right to fear mutants in x-men because some of them were walking weapons" IT'S A METAPHOR THAT IS ALSO A PLOT DEVICE)
('backwater' being used ironically, do not let my meaning be misconstrued here. a better way to word it is that immigrants are guilttripped into having to be 'grateful' for their oppression in a first world country because microaggressions or assimilation is considered better than the alternative, being back in your home country where living conditions may be considered poorer)
in the sense that for instance, jay put a VK spin on supporting feminism. like yes, he could've done it the rulefollowing, create a petition and gather signatures route, but INSTEAD he finds and exploits an existing loophole to let lonnie join the team. or evie shouting out dizzy's creations, uplifting her voice despite the fact she could've still taken the credit since she was the one that paired the outfit with the accessories. etc
are the descendants movies objectively bad movies?? yes. but this was to me, one of the most compelling analogies for immigrant struggles. take particular notice how almost ALL the main VKs are either racebent from the original disney movies (evie, carlos, uma) or were already based on an ethnic character (mal, jay)
but wait, mal is the whitest white girl to walk the planet. how is she already based on an ethnic character?
glad you asked. it is quite unclear in the descendants movie (basing its portrayal of maleficent on the disney sleeping beauty) is a fairy or a dragon. while the maleficent movie isn't canon to the descendants universe, i'm still going to use the fact that she's a fairy with the magical ability to turn herself into a dragon
a lot fairy folklore comes from ireland. the name maleficent itself, and i quote
shares similarities to the name millicent. millicent has irish (or scottish) roots (even a coat of arms) as in
thus one could argue that maleficent herself could potentially be irish coded
whether or not you agree with the idea that maleficent is irish coded, it is undeniable that mal is the daughter of hades, a greek god. it's a shame that that was a retcon in the third movie and not planned from the start, because the role could've gone to an actually greek actress (please google the ottoman empire and greek independence day if you still think it's not fitting for me to group mal with the others)
where was i going with this?? right. it's extremely telling that most of the main/side VKs, save for gil, are ethnic, in the story of a group of misfits finding themselves in an unfamiliar country with new social norms for them to learn as they try to fit in with and become accepted by their peers
#descendants mutuals please see this i wanna know your thoughts so bad#disney descendants#descendants#mal descendants#evie descendants#jay descendants#fun fact!! descendants 2 is my favourite descendants movie because it's the one where i see ben the least

I can't resist. holy shit. I was skimming the kab vod (so... what do I do now???***) because I missed context after my last post and all that and I stumbled on this: (lifesteal spoilers below)
23:00 “‘you betrayed princezam’ I didn't do shit I didn't do nothing. ‘Betrayed princezam’ I didn't do shit you want to see a fucking betrayal of princezam I can fucking betray princezam. If you think that, if you think me killing planet was a betrayal then you have clearly never watched any of my videos. My betrayals are always so much cooler than that. I would never let that be a fucking betrayal. Don't even. Don't even”
Like FUCK man. I'm dying crying laughing. like what do you even do with that. The disconnect. The threat. The thinking it was a chatter pov and not a stream snipe. She has no idea.
Like Zam is way too in his feels to have a confrontation with her about how it 100% was a betrayal in his eyes but I want that conversation SO BAD. Especially after such a direct quote like this.
also she does say in the next stream "hurting zam would be cruel" because he's never hurt her. So like, empty threat for sure. (Unless Zam does something first :eyes: he won't.) And she talks about how it's harder to be evil on lifesteal because she knows the people too well and she feels bad about it. Going back to that duality within her about caring too much about people but also doing evil shit.
also (omg here I go analyzing) the conceptual difference in the definition of "betrayal" between her and *lifesteal* is fascinating.
For Kab evidently a betrayal is only something that you plan and execute: it can never be something impulsive or accidental.
But last season we saw Mapicc (and Clown) say Zam giving Minute the blessing was a betrayal. Zam didn't intend to betray. He was doing it because it made sense for the joker to be so obsessed with Minute to the point of giving him a blessing, and a useless blessing at that.
And yet it was a betrayal. And Zam had to face that. And he accepted it immediately when Mapicc explained how if they are teammates he should have thought of the team first.
But he also didn't understand it at first. Just so interesting.
#lifesteal spoilers#lifesteal#it's like watching a trainwreck#i know i'll get upset watching kab lore but I can't resist#because she says shit like this so seriously and I'm like you're not in touch with reality i'm going to vomit#but then she comes back from the intensity in a later stream. but also speaks with such a serious tone. so which is true?#and it's usually triggered by some chatter#it's a huge push and pull#which honestly. kinda does remind me of zam#a more impulsive and non-linear zam#who also doesn't tie the threads of personality together with lore so she doesn't really remind me of zam#gnome rambles

Hello! I've been looking for some inspiration, and I was hoping one of you might be able to lend a hand. My uncle and his partner are getting married in September after having been together as long as I can remember, because they are worried if they don't marry now we will lose marriage equality in the US. It's dark times for sure. My uncle asked me to read something at their ceremony though. I've been trying to find a quote/short story/poem by a queer author that captures the love they feel for each other and I feel for them as well as the seriousness of the times we live in. If anything comes to mind, I'd appreciate any input! Thanks
I am so sorry you are feeling that kind of anxiety, and I hope that these small passages do something to ease it. They are some of my favourites.
"When mankind gathers on that final day And faces pale from fear of reckoning, I'll hold your love in the palm of my hand, And I will say, 'By this I'm saved or damned.'"
By Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī
Translated by Zara Houshmand
"We two boys together clinging, One the other never leaving, Up and down the roads going, North and South excursions making, Power enjoying, elbows stretching, fingers clutching, Arm'd and fearless, eating, drinking, sleeping, loving, No law less than ourselves owning, sailing, soldiering, thieving, threatening, Misers, menials, priests alarming, air breathing, water drinking, on the turf or the sea-beach dancing, Cities wrenching, ease scorning, statutes mocking, feebleness chasing, Fulfilling our foray."
Walt Whitman
"We live in poison. The planet is dying. We can choose to consume each other, or we can choose love. Even in the midst of despair, there is always a choice. I hope we choose love.”
Kai Cheng Thom

"Bring in the flamethrowers!"
The above moment from The Clone Wars gets brought up a lot to illustrate Ki-Adi Mundi or the Jedi's moral decadence, a fall from grace caused by the war.
Figured I'd point out a couple of things in support of Ki-Adi!
1) Simple answer: the situation called for it.
The Geonosians attacking Ki-Adi were:
enemy fighters
with the element of surprise
who could fly and were thus harder to hit with the clones' blasters, hence why more wide-ranging weapons like flamethrowers were called for, as the clones were getting picked off one-by-one.
Time was of the essence, men were dying, Ki-Adi made a choice.
Wanna know what Jedi choose when a Geonosian isn't actively trying to kill them? They save its life (and get praised for it by their peers).
2) In-universe, the Geonosians are assholes.
From Attack of the Clones - The Illustrated Companion, 2002:
"Geonosians are a physically intimidating race conditioned to live and work in caste-segregated hives. The vast majority of Geonosians are subservient to the ruling caste, and throughout Geonosian society, there is evidence of a biologically engineered class system. Some Geonosians have wings, while drones do not. [...] The blind obedience of menial Geonosians makes them an easily exploitable workforce for the upper classes, who have built a highly profitable business manufacturing Battle Droids, Super Battle Droids, and Droideka Droids for the Trade Federation and its allies."
"For unusually intelligent Geonosians unlucky enough to be born into the lower castes, participating in the games provides the only chance they will ever get to escape the misery of their downtrodden lifestyles and the rigid social expectations of the upper classes. Triumph in the arena is often a hollow victory, however; while lower- and middle-class Geonosians may win the right to talk to their superiors, they can never earn their respect."
Okay, so the winged upper class are obviously elitist bastards, but how is that even remotely relevant--
-- oh. But hey, two of them don't have wings! Those are members of the drone caste, and they're all begotten underdogs, so--
"If there is one thing that unites Geonosians of all classes, it is their xenophobia. A traditionally isolationist species, they fear espionage attempts by rivals eager to learn the secrets behind their latest droids."
-- oh. Huh.
Bottom line: yes, they're sentient... but they're xenophobic, have an elitist caste system, and earn their living by forging weapons that melt your insides or blow up planets.
Now sure, this notion has been explored and deconstructed in Star Wars: Rebels...
... and I'm not entirely sure if the quoted info still holds true in current Disney canon (the lore is from 2002, after all), but if you ask me?
On a normal day, ol' Klik-Klak would be actively trying to murder the entirety of the Ghost crew for daring to even step their dirty non-Geonosian feet on his pure red planet.
3) Out-of-universe, the Geonosians are just "bug aliens". Nothing more.
The production team of Attack of the Clones referred to them as the "termite people". The script describes them as "winged creatures" who are heard "chuckling" once Anakin and Padmé are sentenced to a gruesome death. At some point, the storyboard artists considered introducing the Geonosian workers like you would a horror monster.
Hell, the whole Lucas decided to base them on termites is because his house was besieged by them.
They're not people, which is why they're not designed to look like people. They're purposefully dehumanized so that when one of them gets killed by our heroes, it's ethically "okay" and the audience doesn't need to stop and think "oh my God, that's murder!" or "hey! that's racist" whenever a clone calls one of them a "bug."
A similar logic is applied to the stormtroopers, who have face-covering helmets that dehumanizes them.
Functionally, a stormtrooper is a fascist goon, nothing more.
Same goes for the Geonosian. It's a bug alien, that's about it.
4) The flamethrowers were probably just added because they're cool.
Dave Filoni described how the decision to add flamethrowers came up, and it doesn't sound like George had deeper storytelling motives:
"You know, we're going through the tunnel with the Geonosians and George is like: “Yeah, well, here, we'll have the-- the tunnel and the flamethrowers. Yeah. How about that? ‘Bring in the flamethrowers!’ have Ki-Adi Mundi say ‘bring in the flame throwers!’” And it's like “flame—- What? Flamethrowers?!”" - Dave Filoni, “Return to Geonosis” Featurette, 2010
It sounds like he came up with it on the spot.
The flamethrowers aren't indicative of "the moral degradation of Ki-Adi and the Jedi Order." They're likely just in there 'cause they're cool (and if you've played Team Fortress 2, you know that's true)!
At the end of the day, when it comes to the Geonosians, I think that there's a certain irony to how their story ends.
They gleefully created the battle droids that tore the galaxy asunder and the Death Star, a weapon that enables the Empire to commit genocide... but fell victim to genocide themselves, at the hands of an even bigger monster.
They reaped what they sowed. They're not meant to be mourned.
And it's nice to see this aspect of the narrative doesn't get ignored as much as I would've expected.
I came across this video that basically rips into Ki-Adi for using flamethrowers, and I was ready to roll my eyes when I scrolled down to the comments section...
youtube
... but then, a happy surprise!
Most of the comments disagree with the video's stance! For once, logic prevails over anti-Jedi bias.
So yeah, that put a smile on my face.

The Mystery of Canaan House
I don't know if it's occured to anyone else but! have you ever thought about... how strange Canaan House and the first planet in general are?
Canaan House is the Earth, right? But Alecto is the soul of the Earth, isn't she? But... the planet couldn't live without a soul... So it must have a soul... (or has it, really?) The Earth apparently never has been destroyed like the other planets. (Only completely radioactively contaminated.)
So... what happened to the Earth? Did John just pull the whole soul out of the planet and let it die? (But it's alive since 10.000 years, so probably not... ?) Is... still a part of the soul of the Earth in the planet?
The planet is obviously coming apart at the seams. It's often stated that Canaan House is run-down. (I also kinda remember that it's said that Canaan would be dying but I can't find a fitting quote).
Apparently... parts of it... have been resurrected. It would explain why Teacher mentions the resurrection (the quote above) and it would also explain, why different parts of the building have different ages (if you remember Palamedes question).
But... how? Resurrection isn't possible without a soul that's about to be ressurected, right? Does that mean Canaan House has a soul? *What* soul? Is there a rest of Alecto's soul in it because it was to big? Or did he put it in? Is it maybe a completely different soul? (Or multiple different souls?) Has he... I don't know... just put a Resurrection Beast in there? (That would at least explain the creatures and ghosts in the cellar of Canaan House).
But isn't it strange?

Kirk starring in The Pacifier 🧬🧒 💉
Pro
Love how McCoy hangs out on the bridge for no reason, again
McCoy, old timey architecture enthusiast
McCoy and Spock get to interact so much during this!
Kirk's way of dealing with the kids has such a range this episode – we go from softly and nicely interacting with Miri to literally yanking a child off a table after desperately yelling nonsense
Pointing out separately how Kirk is beat up by a bunch of children
Spock famously sniffing and almost nibbling the documents
Spock being helpless and having to deal with the possibility of his friends dying and him staying behind; also further insight in his unique position due to his heritage
McCoy also feeling helpless – and giving us insight into his character: being scared of succumbing to the illness and hurting others, trying to safe not only his friends but a bunch of children, the stress of the time constraint and him doing the logical thing in the end and testing the vaccine on himself as soon as Spock is out of sight so no one can stop him
Also him shouting for Spock immediately
Spock leaning over him is a great moment for all the shippers out there (me)
Also extra point for McCoy looking beautiful while lying unconsciously on the floor (a trend that picks up in S3)
the deterioration of sanity in the adults is actually terrifying and adds to the tension
the basic idea for the plot (a virus that kills adult and leaves a planet full of almost immortal children and stranding out characters there)
creepy atmosphere, especially in the beginning with the children's voices
Generally the tension early in the episode is held up by not knowing what's going on, then gains speed because we know exactly what's going on
great set design underlining the creepy narrative and feeling of being lost without help
Another narrative about the dangers of pursuing immortality / long-levity which ends up in great tragedy
Also This episode analysis by @trek-tracks is amazing. Major galaxy brain energy.(who doesn't love our boys suffering juuust a little bit more)
Con
The casting of Jahn is just. Not great. I know why they had to put in a „leader“ but he gets too much screentime, is everything I hate about children characters and he annoys me.
The children's group scenes are exhausting
The childrens "language", even though it makes sense and is technically a nice touch, gets old real fast
The combination of that makes parts of the episode feel almost silly (in a not good way) and are hard to watch
Even though it's sort of realistic considering Miri's narrative the jealousy plot with Yeoman Rand is unnecessary. It takes away time that could've been used to explore better themes in the episode and plays the only two female characters of the episode against each other
I wish Yeoman Rand would have more to do to do than "make Miri jealous and be scared"
after the episode takes a long time to get to certain points the ending feels very sudden
I know it looks like so many more Pro points but I love some of the characterwork, and the points that are bad are SO BAD.
Counter:
Kirk shirt-rip
One of the trio being ready to sacrifice himself (McCoy)
Quote: „And I do want to go back to the ship, captain“ - Spock Honorary: That Look Bones and Spock share when Kirk asks them to „simply create a vaccine“ Moment: McCoy being immediately ready to sacrifice himself and the dynamic surrounding that
Extra shot of beautiful McCoy with Spock gently holding his face

she kisses me in her parents bedroom and says SOLILOQUIZE THIS, MOTHERFUCKER, like a threat, like a promise, like she’s saying, TURN THIS INTO POETRY AND I’LL KILL YOU or maybe TURN THIS INTO POETRY AND I’LL LOVE YOU EVEN MORE. i can never tell what she means when she kisses me like that.
she says THE STRETCH MARKS ON YOUR INNER THIGHS LOOK LIKE THE SURFACE OF MARS I say, «baby, i’ve got no idea what that means.» she says IT MEANS WE’RE THE UNIVERSE LOOKING DOWN AT ITSELF and I LIKE YOU EVEN MORE WHEN YOU’RE DRUNK AND UNSATISFIED and IF YOU WANT TO BE EUROPA I’LL BE JUPITER AND YOU CAN JUST STAY IN MY ORBIT FOREVER.
i say «tell me we’re dead and i’ll love you even more» and she tells me STOP QUOTING OTHER POETS WHEN YOU TELL ME YOU LOVE ME and i say «i’ve never been more than quotes from other poets, if you didn’t want that, why are you still kissing me?» and she says WHY DO YOU ALWAYS EXPECT ME TO KNOW THE ANSWERS TO YOUR PROBLEMS?
we kiss in her parents bedroom and she says WHAT DO YOU WANT, BABY? and i say «i want you to kill me in the middle of sex so i can die feeling good.» for a second, she’s quiet, and then she says WHAT? WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? and i try to say i’ve never know love without violence or maybe i’m scared of dying scared or maybe when they told me that abraham’s love for isaac was the reason for the sacrifice, i didnt understand that he was being asked to kill in spite of that love, not for it. and instead i say «nothing i say means anything. that’s why i’m a poet.»
we sit outside while i smoke and i say «i watched hacksaw ridge yesterday, and it was the craziest thing, because i thought they were exaggerating the story, but it turns out it was actually even weirder.» and she says I WISH YOU TALKED ABOUT YOURSELF MORE. and it sounds too real, so i pretend i dont hear it.
we are kissing in her parents bedroom when i grab a handful of fat, blood-full bedbugs and say «‘how long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? let my people go, so that they may worship me’.» and she says I WISH YOU TALKED ABOUT YOURSELF MORE and i say «i am talking about myself»
we are standing at the bus stop waiting for the bus to come and she says MY DAD ALWAYS TOLD ME TO NEVER TRUST AN ADDICT and i ask «do you really want me to write your dialogue in all capitals even though no one can see it?» and she says I NEVER ASKED YOU TO DO THAT.
we eat dinner together and she says I LIKE WHEN YOU DRINK AND DON’T TAKE YOUR MEDICINE AND ACT LIKE A FUCKING CRAZY PERSON and i say «no, you don’t, i’m a bad acid trip dressed like a boyfriend.» and she says WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME IT WAS GOING TO START RAINING? and i say «i thought it’d be more romantic if we didnt have an umbrella.»
we sit like distant planets and she says STOP QUOTING OTHER POETS WHEN YOU TELL ME YOU LOVE ME and i say «i dont know how» and she says STOP USING MY NAME TO TALK TO YOURSELF and then, finally quiet, i dont like it when you use me to justify your own self hatred. stop putting mean words in my mouth. and i say, «i am talking about myself.» and she says, baby, I know — that’s the problem.

Okay-okay-okay, I really need to put out some silly thoughts from "Autocracy" IDW and sleep peacefully Of course I liked it ha-ha, it is filled with revolution, double revolution, triple revolution Autocracy spoilers, I guess?
• They call each other old-timers if they are older pffht • Firstly, help, Soundwave's kids are CRAZY, I mean I saw them fighting good against autobots but when Soundwave was running away, he was just "Go, my pokemon", and his kids were absolutely destroying everyone on his tail • OH I ABSOLUTELY LOVED all dialogues between Megatron and Orion Pax, from future I got that they were friends, so they know each other, but somehow Megatron is much better at guessing how Orion will act. Megatron thinks as a real tactician, using bots as his weapon, having a backup plan even if it required lifes of other bots. Orion, even from his origin, never seemed a person of "plan b", he improvise but he relies a lot on his comrades, they are a strong team, they are his plan b, and while this whole corruption situation was irritating him more and more, he became more violent and less considerable about proper plans, it goes as it goes. I guess that's why Megatron was underestimating him plus added the fact of how much power he got. Yeeeet~ Orion is using what Megatron did write, quotes it, and I'm sure he meant it in the right way, while Megatron's way is violent. "Criminal posing as a revolutionary and revolutionary posing as a cop" is my fav ship. He is using Orion in his plans in pretty curly and good ways ○ OKAY, a little note, but Megatron finds Starscream as very useful and trustful liege, it started amazing me from Megatron's origin where they were coming up with plans on spot without discussing. Then Sterscream really is good with his talking, responsible for many-many things and achieves them successfully. It is so surprising for me after all the jokes about them pfffht
(Megatron in his happy dreams happily holding hands with Orion and destroying autocracy together, but then he wakes up because remembers he will have to kill him then)
I'm cackling again. "Protect autobots at all cost!". Decepticons "Huh, how worthy these bots must b- "*sees Orion* "Ah, no more questions"
When you want to get your beloved you must push to the very end pfffffht
• I KNOW RODIMUS. I know him from future series and AHAHHAH OH MY EMOTIONS WHEN I SAW THAT HE WAS THE BOMBER, and played a big part in this story, the absolute opposite side of his character! I remember reading fic by @/lush-specimen where Hot Rod was helping EVERY bot in need, decepticons or autobots, taking everyone in need. AND NOW I SO MUCH SEE IT. He was another kind of revolutionary, he was the middle, oppressed kind of bots. He is a pretty young one, he lived in golden era, in alive city, now bots are dying on his eyes yet he protects and stands for them. He DIDN'T join decepticons yet he was fighting against cops. BUT he saw that maybe Orion can help since he was against government. He helped decepticons to show the truth to the ones who could change something, because he saw that it can help them, not decepticons. He isn't that funny ha-ha boy I saw in mtmte and ll. He had to burst his own "family" so that they will not become the fuel for Zeta Prime's destruction tools. Their deaths were on him. He became the leader to get out his people and did bear their deaths on his shoulders. No wonder he became a good even if silly leader in the future, he knows the price of life.
Writers: "Let's leave a hint about him being the new ruler. BUT LITTLE DID THEY KNOW WHAT HIS CHARAcTER WILL BE AHAHHAHA"
• "Till all are one". The matrix. THIS IS WHAT KEPT ME IN CHOKEHOLD AHAH. This phrase come from here, the change of Orion come from here, it all is in here. LISTEN. THA MATRIX LET THE HOLDER FEEL SPARKS. HE FELT SPARKS OUTSIDE THE PLANET. I wonder if he feels when someone's spark fades/dies, does he feel something about it or he got so used to it. I was wondering how exactly and from what point Orion changed to his serious Prime. He could NOT NOT change. The matrix gave him an ability to feel everyone, gave him an understanding of the concept of what unity of bots is. He could never become his past again because he bears this burden of lifes that he will never be able to get rid of now. But what made me sad is that Metroplex recognised him as his "old friend". He didn't call him by name of that friend. I guess it is because he had decades of such friends. They all have pretty similar ideas and characters. They get matrix and the same idea gets in their head. They become someone who already was there, real side of you erasers even if not completely. PFhegfheg. Even the name he got. He himself can't get used to it, meaning he has to get used to it like he is forced to his new self
• Prowl ~ There are earlier times and I don't see that great tactician that I used to read about him. He is a good soldier, who follows orders, he trusts Orion, he follows his orders, he isn't the one coming up with plans. He still is more groundly on the "rule" side, but he understands what is bad for bots, he listens to Orion more, he is the one who gives final orders. He ends up going against government, siding with these dissidents, even siding with decepticons to get rid of what could have destroyed them all. It's just a bit unusual for me to see him be "in team", follow, don't have his own side plan, don't be beaten up wheeeeze
• That's a bit.... sad to see them like this, knowing who Shockwave was before. And now it is this.
• Oh, they yap at each other, shipped
• Don't look, kid, parents are fighting
Okay, ahaha, I feel like I've wrote something too messy to understand or too silly to be real, my only thoughts left are described by tsche-chu-chu-che-tsche
#Autocracy idw#autocracy spoilers#I REALLY LIKED THIS PART#ALL THE SIDES#CHARACTERS#INTERACTIONS DURING BAD TIMES#Yeah it's not much about their character as everyday#But it gave so much plot to me to fill up parts in my head that were with holes#And seeing characters younger#Seeing characters in their first appearance#OH YES#Gah#I'mma pass out a bit#blabbery#tf#transformers#tf idw#transformers idw

ROUND ONE: MATCH-UP THREE
Remember, this is NOT about who would win in a fight. This is about who makes the best leader for Mandalore as a whole.
To be fair, I think we know who's going to win this one, lmao. That said! Go read the Tor propaganda, we got a silly amount of it. Actually we got an insane amount of propaganda for both of them overall.
Explanation post
Seeding
Propaganda below the cut! You can submit more on this post and I will reblog it back to here!
Anon: Bo-Katan should be the Mando'alor because, while having done a LOT of shit, she tried her best to free Mandalore from the Empire and to give her people the safety they lost when the New Mandalorian Government fell - She worked to redeem herself, and she got back up every time she fell. She united the people of Mandalore from every aspect and kept the warrior traditions alive
@lightsaberwieldingdalek: Literally the only reason I can think of for bo katan to rule is that she’s stubborn. She doesn’t stop trying to get mandalorians organised and on their homeworld. Kinda a Robert the Bruce and a spider in a cave style parable, except instead of the English she’s trying to fight her own bad actions/behaviour towards others
Anon: Bo-Katan propaganda: you know that quote about "It's hard for a good man to be king?" Well considering she's a terrible person she'd actually be pretty good at ruling Mandalore.
Tor Vizsla
Anon: god. ugh. can't believe I'm writing this. but. - he was backed by a not-insignificant number of clans, including those of good reknown such as Clan Wren, apparently spurred by the common sentiment that Mereel's Supercommando Codex was an affront to their sense of honor by extending the definition of honorable professions for the warrior class to bounty hunting and mercenary work (which was an attempt to avert some of the expansionist tendencies of previous generations of Mandalorian warriors)
@lightsaberwieldingdalek: Okay so. Tor Visla. - This is a franchise called Star Wars. There has not been a generation without interplanetary conflict happening somewhere. Mandalore has an imperialist history which left it with a lot of people with grudges against it, and in living/near living memory their homeworld was bombed by the largest government around to the point of having to live in environment domes. The giant war across the galaxy at the moment has one side being almost completely fought by clones of a self-exiled prince of your people, they wear armor clearly based on your cultural touchstone armor and marked with your cultures symbols and speaking at least some of your language. - In that situation, you could see why someone would think its not a great idea to be led by an ardent pacifist and demilitarise to the point of making the people who refused to stop carrying weapons leave the planet. - Of course, what Tor decided to do with that set up is really terrible, he probably should have lead a militia group to kneecap anything that went for Mandalore if he decided Mandalore was weak and defenseless, not start bombing public works and being a domestic terrorist, but I'm just laying out the intentions/set up here. - Now. What he did and what he thought he was doing are different things, of course. - But you can sort of argue that what Tor's little terrorist group actually did kinda helped Mandalore. In an assbackwards, unintentional way, of course. And yet. - Mandalore was divided, and Satine Kryze was doing her best to improve standards of living, but her political views could mean causing more fractures and splits in the society. However. Give people an enemy, an opposing side, and make them so heinous and undefendable that only the most fanatic, the most violent and hateful, will join them, and everyone else will stop bickering over religio-cultural doctrine and band together against the violent fantatics who just bombed a school group. By being an opposition that no one but the people who were never going to help would join, Tor helped keep Mandalorian society together and strong. Like a supporting joint pushing against the wall. - And in the aftermath of the Empire, the experience with urban warfare and terrorist groups meant that Mandalore was more prepared to survive when they scattered across the galaxy to hide. - In conclusion. Tor Visla. Understandable starting point. Unforgivable follow through. Unmistakable impact.
Anon: "He will make Mandalore great again. And don't believe Jaster lie, he isn't a speciesist. He has a Java friend. With him, Mandalorian will do a raid on this weak core world everyday. The galaxy will be their playground and twi'lek girl will fall for them. Alcool will flow every night."
Anon: Tor would be good for gathering people for his cause, and he’d keep the dependent load small. He would also probably have easily accessible supplies (ie food, weapons, medicine, etc).
Anon: Propaganda for Tor Vizsla: Mandalorian

Three AM thought here, but you know how in America as kids in school you used to write to soldiers at war? Does the UNSC have children write to their soldiers? And do specific classrooms get to write to Spartans? How unhinged does it get?
Like Emile opening his 80th 'tank you for killing the covenant'
John opening one that says "have a good war" and the letter spills glitter everywhere
Fred getting one that says "dear spartan, thank you for dying for humanity, but I really like humanity so I'm glad you're dead"
Carter getting one that says "I'm sad you died when your planet was glassed" and it's a drawing of a covenant ship glassing some planet.
Kelly opens one that says "I'm sorry your girlfriend left you, that's what my dad says what happens when you become a Spartan"
All of these were inspired by pat loller on tik tok, and I desperately need my moots to add their own experiences of writing these letters. I was going to make one that was all happy and have a pop up thing where you accordion the paper and stick it on each side of the card so a butterfly and flower pop up when you open it but my classmate stopped me because it would scare the soldiers because they have PTSD. If only child me understood the mash episodes my mom was watching I could've given them some mash quotes.
