rewatching the chunin exams 2 for my tenten post and lemme rant about nejiten here real quick.

this moment is symbolic to me because he’s literally standing there in the setting sun looking at scrolls that read “Ten Ten” in his hands. And this is also the way Tenten actually writes her name, with the two characters for heaven.

this character is associated with the sky, obviously, and Neji is always seen looking at birds flying in the sky, seeing it as the ultimate freedom.

A lot of Tenten’s attacks are also aerial, and I think there’s something really cool about Neji, who’s attacks are primarily done with his feet on the ground, and Tenten, who’s always flying in the sky above him, much like the birds he’s always looking at.
