Look at this awkward boy with his new family.

The DeLyons had found Ely completely unconscious in the street and took him in. He woke up to not knowing who he was or what was happening. They gladly took him into their home and soon adopted him. He was definitely happier there, and if asked he'd say it was the most normal he ever felt until his memories returned to him and soon after destroyed the family.

Ely's perpetual frown was on his face as he glanced over at the demonhog. This was not his idea of fun in the slightest. This was a mess that he had to clean up because a job went wrong. It was annoying enough he wasn't getting paid for any of this.

As soon as the lock was undone, and Dan ran off, Ely turned to the computer. Gave him some time to try to delete some important documents that might be stored on the airship before stepping back and giving one last movement of destruction.

Onto their next problem.

He moved towards the direction of the vault, only stopping near the entrance to it. "Hurry up. We got to figure out how we're leaving this stupid thing."

"Oh cmon, lighten up at least a little....we're almost done, if I can have a little fun with this even while leaving a mess on the floor, I know you can." Dan would remark, shaking his head at what he thought was needless annoyance towards him, especially when it seemed like most of their issues were out the way now.

The fact he'd gotten injured during this mission to, he assumed they'd have liked that somewhat to make up for past events.

Regardless, as the doors opened the demon-hog wouldn't waste any more time on banter as he rushed in as fast he could manage that didn't disturb his wounds too much while his gaze quickly scanned around for the target in question.

Finally! He saw what the fuss had been about, a clear looking pearl of a gem....practically being held out in the centre of the security vault. It didn't look particularly special to him but there must have been reasoning behind it for all of this mess. He rushed forward towards it, outreaching with his good arm to grab a hold of it before any other surprises came their way.

I think one of the biggest tragedies of Laios & Falin and their relationship is how much his actions impact her life. But like. Specifically how much they WOULDN’T impact her life as much if they weren’t both stuck in such a shitty abusive situation.

This part of the Falin-tries-makeup daydream hour comic is what got me thinking about it again because truly it just... it seems like such a like an offhand comment that I'm sure Laios didn't mean to be cruel or anything. That's just like. A little kid not thinking about what they are saying. ESPECIALLY when the kid in question is Laios.

But man they depended on each other SO much as kids. Too much. It really feels like they didn't have any other source of positive reinforcement, or anyone else to share themselves with. So of course an offhand comment like that has a huge impact on Falin.

Or this little bit from one of the flashbacks:

This tears me apart. Do you think it tears him apart to think about? I think it does. I think Laios holds every small failure to care for Falin against himself.

And then there's the Bigger stuff. The way that him coping with his own trauma ended up impacting her.

Like his interest in monsters. Like him going to find a ghost, and accidentally revealing Falin's magic to the whole village in the process.

Like him needing to leave. And leaving her behind.

He shaped her life so much, and he carries so much guilt for it. And again, there should have been other people there to help. The same things that made Laios need to leave home are the things that made his leaving so hard on Falin. She ate alone after that. She shouldn't have had to eat alone just because Laios wasn't there.

She was 9 when he left for school, and he was 11.

Nine. And Laios feels like he failed her because he didn't stand by her through this better. As an eleven year old.

Both of these kids deserved so much better from the world.

Oh. Right. Robotics. There was a slight glance at Light's arms before Ely started to unlock and type in the information needed to add the other's contact information. A small message simply stating 'this is ely' was sent before he put the phone away. This was so strange to him.

And mentally he really didn't want to accept it. Even when the mental image of his friend was reminding him that it was okay. His eyes flickered back to the girls, soon deciding that this wasn't being done for him. This was for her. Always.

"We'll have to set up a playdate in the future then." He could already see Molly telling her friends about Gibbious. And knowing the fox sisters if they ever met the kid they'd want to add her to their club immediately. The chaos the four of them could make...

He quickly decided he didn't want to think about it.

"Unfortunately I think it's time for us to leave." He said, gaining his sister's attention.

"Aww, do we have to?"

"You got homework to do." One of the few normal things he ever said in his life. "We'll see them again, promise."

"Mmm okay! Only because you promised." With that she was up on her feet again. "Gibbous! You hear that! We'll hang out again soon okay?"

The toddler had to get out some of the energy from eating somehow. It just so happened to be easier to run in a circle (looking almost like she was chasing her tail) than a way that would have meant she needed to stand on her legs.

She still didn't have enough balance for that if she couldn't grasp a hold of something in the process.

Light took the phone with a hand and tapped at the screen. Only once before handing it back with an amused smirk. "You'll need to input the information. My hands don't register on your touch screen."

A wave of his metal fingers was given in jest while rattling off his contact info to be added. Of course, he also waited for Ely to send him a message and listened for the light chime on his laptop to know it was a success. He waved a hand dismissively.

"Then don't think of it as a debt. As the English saying goes, think of it as me paying it forward."

The way that I’m brainrotting over a DCxDP crossover with a Danny who’s a vengeful villain rn

Like, let’s just say that the GiW finally get into contact with the JL. They need help neutralizing a threat, you see, and they’re on their last limb trying to keep civilians safe.

They have video evidence! They have studies to back their claims! The JL have to help them!

Unfortunately, the JL believe them. They join a fight against Danny, and defeat him due to being far more experienced than he is. Danny is locked away and experimented on by the GiW.

That would CHANGE a person. Your heroes turning against you and seeing you as a monster, being experimented on for who knows how long, not knowing if your friends and family are safe.

Danny gets out due to a simple mistake on the GiW’s part; having Blüdhaven as part of their transport route.

Of course the trucks were attacked, they’re government property!

So now, whoever decided to raid the government transport trucks (the Penguin or something) has a ton of experimental weapons with no idea how they work, and a heavily traumatized teenager.

Danny knows how they work. Danny can be useful! They won’t throw him out if he’s useful! And so, now Danny is working for the Penguin, altering the ectoplasm weapons to make them work on humans.

It’s a good deal for both parties. Danny gets to neurotically imprint on the Penguin like a small baby animal, and the Penguin gets a brilliant mind who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.

But eventually, Danny finds out what happened to his family in his absence.

Jazz is in Arkham. Not as a psychologist, but as a “patient.” Apparently, she snapped and completely destroyed the house, leveled a few blocks of Amity Park, and conducted organized attacks on government bases (mostly GiW) for months.

Sam and Tucker helped her, eventually splitting once Jazz was captured. Sam travels to areas of extreme pollution, completely overgrowing them with her plant powers. Currently she’s in the Amazon rainforest, engaging in an ongoing feud with logging companies. Sam is winning.

Tucker faked his death, and Danny has no idea where he is. He only knows that the death wasn’t real because of a code that the three of them made together, just in case.

Ellie’s trapped in the Infinite Realms. Danny had a failsafe in place so that if she was ever cornered by the GiW, she would be sent to her haunt in the GZ. However, with the portal destroyed, she can’t come back. Danny just hopes she’s okay.

His parents are now top GiW scientists. They’re traveling the country giving speeches. They’re working on a battery powered by ectoplasm, but apparently started “having difficulties” around the same time that Danny escaped.

None of it is fair. None of it is right.

The Justice League destroyed his life, the lives of his friends, and they’re doing as good as ever. The GiW is respected, and his parents are happily working away for them.

Danny takes up some of his more experimental weapons and breaks Jazz out of Arkham. She’s a little different now, colder and more quiet, but she still loves him all the same. It’s an unimaginable comfort to him to see his sister again.

He can’t use his powers anymore. He’s so used to associating them with pain that even transforming into his ghost form is enough to take him down for hours.

However, he understands ectoplasm more than anyone else in the world. He knows how to use it in virtually everything; how it can become a weapon, how it can be used as a supplemental ingredient in poisons and nerve agents, how it can twist and distort the mind if applied correctly.

He doesn’t care what happens to him. He’s going to take down the GiW, and destroy the lives of the JL members who helped lock him away, just as they did to him.

No matter the cost.

I recently had to do a project in one of my psych classes, and man, I knew that CBT was used for every little thing, but seeing over and over, "do CBT! CBT is the best for every mental illness!" was so jarring. I'm absolutely biased because of my own experiences, but I just don't think it's as universal a treatment model as it's touted.

If you didn't benefit from CBT, it's not because you're lazy or didn't try hard enough or lacked intelligence or foresight into your own needs. Frankly, it's a therapy model that (I think) shouldn't be the only readily-accessible model and among the only therapy models covered by insurance. Some of us should not be treated in a CBT model and that's okay. It's not a sign of poor character or unreasonable demands, and if you don't think it's a model that works for you, then it's your right to express that!

Ely was adopted into a lion family, but thanks to circumstances the only one left is his sister Molly. He'd do anything for her.

Dan might be right in some way. Not that Ely was sure how much Molly would be able to help them in that regard. She had some limited life experience due to Ely not being able to pay for many things at times.

Maybe he should ask if there was something big she wanted to do and make it happen. A couple of odd jobs would surely pay for it.

Ely stared at Dan for a moment before nodding and walking off. He wasn't sure what to make of this experience. At least he could tell Rex he got out of the apartment for once.

There was a raised brow as Ely hit the table, leaving the demon-hog a little confused as to where that came from, briefly thinking to himself as to how rather volatile Ely was as he wouldn't immediately connect the dots to where the source of that irritation was coming from.

"I don't mean doing exactly what she wants there." Not being entirely excited at the idea of nail painting or tea parties either. "But since she's young, she has a lot more imagination and possibly places she'd like to visit or do things." As the demon-hog assumed she'd be more likely able to come to an 'normal' idea that was viable.

Or if nothing else, maybe it would provide a distraction of sorts that would keep them occupied with another matter.

Of course with Ely's temper still raised up and hearing their mumbles, Dan would only shrug his shoulders. "Suit yourself, have a good one." Raising his glass as if to say goodbye in addition before taking another sip, figuring there was no point trying to stop them and risk just making that temper flare up more.

Just let him calm down on his own terms.

how the gang sleeps headcannons let’s go!

Johnny: can literally fall asleep anywhere. Light sleeper, but falls asleep really fast most of the time

Dallas: sleeps fully clothed outta laziness half the time- i mean in the scene at Buck’s he was literally wearing jeans for some fucking reason. Often has his head under a pillow ‘cuz there’s always loud music playing. He also probably doesn’t know that you’re supposed to change your sheets.

Two-Bit: Does know you’re supposed to change sheets, but still doesn’t change them. Moves a lot and sometimes wakes up upside down in the morning.

Steve: hugs a pillow cuz he’s touch starved asf. Runs warm and hates using a blanket because it’s sweaty, but also hates not using a blanket because it’s cold, so he’s gotta do that “one leg under one leg over” thing

Darry: takes forever to fall asleep, but once he’s asleep, he’s practically knocked out. often has to sleep through the gang’s chaos, so this is pretty useful

Sodapop: either hates sleeping or loves it with no in between, like a kid who whines about bed time but then sleeps in till noon. walks around wrapped up in a blanket on winter mornings while procrastinating on getting dressed (ADHD’ll do that). Sometimes hauls himself outta bed only to fall asleep again curled up on the floor on the way to his closet.

Ponyboy: Sometimes wakes up with Soda’s limbs pinning him down which is annoying. Probably has a bit of insomnia, and obviously struggles with nightmares. Has sleep-talked before and it always jumpscares Soda

Now I am not saying that Drumbot Brian on the drums or banjo are over appreciated because I don't think it is possible to appreciate anything about Drumbot Brian too much, BUT I do think that Drumbot Brian on the accordion is terribly underappreciated.

Look at this. How can you see this and Not want to talk about him on the accordion for the rest of time?? Also the instrument itself is pretty and matches the rose on his hat.
