Before - Regulus - Stars

Regulus couldn't remember a time before. Before Sirius. He didn't have a childhood or adolescence or anything like that, he became the age he wanted to at will. He couldn't remember a day when he'd come to being - he had just always been. And so had his brother Sirius.

Sirius liked to say that they were children of the stars, and Regulus liked how the phrase sounded. As though the universe was greater than them and yet they were greater than the universe at the same time. They were stars, really. The two of them, brothers, they burned. When they spread their arms, they dissolved into burning spheres, Canis Major and Leo, and when they closed their eyes they merged with their life sources, becoming one with their namesakes.

But their favourite place to be was Earth. A forgettable little planet orbiting a large star, it was a place where they could test the limits of their powers, scream their joy and their pain and their love into the void and rush through the sky at such speeds that sound and light themselves bent to accommodate them. The only remarkable thing about the rock was its atmosphere, a sort of shell that embraced it and kept it warm. And yet - although Regulus could not recall when it first came to be - it was now the brothers' home.

marlene being the goddess of sea storms and dorcas being the goddess of overland storms, it is probably unsurprising that their competition turns to rivalry turns to obsession turns to passion turns to love

dorcas becomes one of the few deities to belong to more than one pantheon, as she does not desert from her king regulus, but becomes a queen in her own right through her marriage to the oceanic queen

together the two create a child who they name mary, a somehow calm and peaceful child despite her mothers' stormy natures. when she comes of age, she falls in love with the spring goddess, lily

as for how they all come into being... um... i may give the first four (the astral ones) the ability to create a new god/goddess by imagining them and giving them a little of their life force. like they can will a lover or a child or a friend into existence, y'know?

i reckon sirius was the first god, and he decided to choose one of his stars and make it the most important star, he named it the sun and he created james to embody it. sirius also wished for a lover (rem) and james wished for another companion after sirius and remus began to spend more time together and that was how peter came to being

MARAUDERS ERA CHARACTERS AS GODS AND GODDESSES AU

so this is just something i've been thinking about, but basically it's the marauders eras characters as divine beings (largely influenced by hellenistic, egyptian and norse mythology)

i have some ideas but i'd love suggestions too

the astral pantheon sirius - god of stars, drama, alochol, parties, theatre, creation - symbols: stars, mask, grapes, dogs

remus - god of the moon, gambling, money, risks, time, luck - symbols: the moon, dice, wolves, tarot cards

peter - god of planets, romantic/platonic/familial love, marriage - symbols: ringed planets, dove, rats, rings

james - god of the sun, plants, agriculture, flowers, nature, summer - symbols: the sun, plants, deer, flowers

andromeda - goddess of joy, excitement, hope, wishing, happiness, dance - symbols:

amelia - goddess of justice, trials, rules - symbols:

gilderoy - god of thieves, lies, secrecy, deceit, slyness, obsession, looks - symbols:
