Got myself looking at amazing and fun ninjago fan art since the longest time and dang. I feel bad for not posting in forever and now I kinda want to post again.

Hrk aight I’ve sat on this for long enough. Guess I’ll try to be brave enough to post these.. very first drawings of Glaceon!Zane and Soileon!Cole I ever drew :´´3  I think? I do not condone the first drawings of Kai, Jay, Nya, Lloyd and Garm, I won’t show them bc I cringe so hard when I see them. These two are at least decent! I just, don’t like how I used to draw the hoods :(((

@serpentfever ​​  He’s both, I made him sort of a fusion. He has that seviper head knob and colours but more serperior-like body structure, at least that’s what I aimed for. I just chose to call him as serperior!Pythor bc I remember how it’s spelled better and didn’t want too complicated tag for him, but I’m glad you noticed the seviper part in him! ^^

Ohh dude y’know what. I was going just now back on my blog to find a comic that has a better drawn version of Pythor, and dang. I used seviper!Pythor as the tag there. Heck. Welp, I guess in all honesty, I just chose serperior this time bc I could not remember how to spell seviper 😅😂  Here’s the comic anyway if you wanna see: >>boop<<

While we wait for the second part of the Zane sketches, have this height guide I made myself to see how tall the main Serpentine would be compared to the ninja.

Cole is the tallest in s1 and I knew how tall the others are compared to him so I didn't bother drawing them. As fully grown adults Cole would be generously taller than Scales, Nya would be slightly shorter than Cole, Kai would be ab Scales' size, and Zane and Jay shorter. Idk how tall Lloyd will be as a grown-up tbh... I feel like he might remain p short, but would he be taller or shorter than Jay (who's ab 165cm)?

Sorry Zane sketches’ second part didn‘t come soon at all.

I had two writing commissions to get through, and my arms couldn’t handle that much writing and have hobby writing at the side (bc yeah there’s a lot of lore coming up in the Zane sketch post), so yea. But I finished the second commission yesterday so now I can concentrate on hobby writings again!! We’ll see, I thought I’d rest my arms a bit today but maybe tomorrow I’ll start writing the lore ~

Shitty sketches part 22, ½: Zane

I’ve been sitting on these for so long. Guess it’s time to finally show them. And man, Zane seems to have the most sketches, they didn’t all fit in one post so this is a two part shitty sketches episode. I also have a lot of Zane lore to drop:

1. Dr. Julien built Zane out of alien metal, that had been collected from meteors that fell onto Ninjago long ago. This metal was unalike any metal on Ninjago because of an astounding property: it could absorb energy and grow in mass, expand, and even move, very slowly on its own. I’ll talk more about how he powered Zane up in the next post, but being made of very lively metal, Zane was able to grow and even evolve like an organic Eevee child, although he grew slower than normal people. He was also able to consume normal food and had his own metabolism in his robotic body. Zane evolved… when he was around six to eight years old. I don’t have exact ages for him tbh. It was a bright winter day, the snow beds were glazed by supercooled water, and the birches were tinkling and dropping ice, and Zane thought it was all so wonderful that he wanted to go venturing and his little articuno robot friend accompanied him. They ended up by a huge boulder that was covered by ice like everything else in the forest. Tobi, the articuno, roosted on the boulder while Zane played with ice crumbs, when suddenly someone lunged at it and captured it. Zane scared and nearly ran away, but realized his friend was in danger, and confronted the stranger. It was an adult Sneasel, shifty-looking fella who stuffed Tobi into a bag and claimed it was his now. He was some sort of poacher, but for rare animals, and an articuno sure was one. Zane demanded him to release Tobi, and when the Sneasel just laughed and started leaving, Zane decided he had no choise but to attack. Dr. Julien had built Zane to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves, and Tobi needed him. Even as an untrained Eevee, he was strong and skilled enough to beat the cowardly poacher in battle. The evolution came as a surprise to everyone though. Zane started glowing bright light and felt unbearable pain. His fake fur ripped and partially fell away as he grew in size, which freaked the Sneasel out and made him flee. All people on Ninjago, regardless of if they are Elemental Masters or witches, mages, magicians or normal people without special magical abilities, everyone has clothing-related magic, which usually manifests itself when people evolve. It makes the clothes they’re wearing during evolution to fit their new form without ripping or falling off. This applied to Zane’s clothes, but his fake fur got ripped because it was eevee fur, and he turned into a glaceon. Zane was very confused and scared after the evolution had happened and concluded there was something wrong with his health or something, so he collected his fur and made his way back to his home to seek help from his father. Dr. Julien was very surprised but excited that Zane had evolved, but he was also alarmed that he had been in danger, and decided to guard their home area more carefully. Needless to say, he ordered Zane new fake fur that fit his new form.

7. I believe the left one is either Zane without his fur, or the Titanium Ninja version of him… hm, probably my earlier rendition of the Titanium Zane. The right one is right after Great Devourer struck the ninja’s vehicle and Zane with her tail.

I’ll cover more Zane lore in the next post, more specifically about his soul(s), and I’ll probably have to write a lot for it, bc there’s two stories concerning that. The other one is shorter though, and I could try to write it in sort of a comic script form.

Shitty sketches part 21: possessed Lloyd

Lloyd’s eyes, as I’ve established earlier, are normally magenta-ish colour with bright white pupils and they shine faint light. When Morro possesses him, his red forehead gem turns black, as do the tips of his ear/cheek tufts, and his eyes turn shining green with only dark slits as pupils. When he resists Morro’s possession, his pupils “open” a little bit, allowing the white light shine through.

The last pic isn’t a redraw of the show like the rest of these, or even pokéninjago canon, I just thought of angsty Possession pics to draw and made this thumbnail, y’know, as if the drawing was a photograph and M and L were posing? What can I say, I was very into the s5 angst.

Do you have headcanons of the ninja's sexualities/identities?

Hi! Pride month asks huh? XD

Honestly? Not for most of them. I'm p boring like that, I rarely think about characters' sexualities when I watch shows unless it's like the point of the show, like a show made by LGBTQA+ ppl to LGBTQA+ ppl. Sometimes they can give me aro/ace or nonbinary/trans vibes tho and sometimes I make headcanons on grounds of those vibes.

But I do headcanon Cole as aroace and Zane and Pixal and even Wu a bit as asexuals.

I did try and think about sexualities for my versions of them some years ago, in case someone would ask `:D I could try and find my notes on them if anyone's interested?

I have more but they're not good so you won't see them, probably. The last two pics are just close-up of his ear/cheek tufts, bc I wanted to practise how to make them wavy like that. Lloyd got the wavy hair gene from Garm so his ear tufts aren't straight like Wu's for example.

The two first pics are teen Lloyd, the third is a young adult Lloyd.

A few miscellaneous sketches:

Kai and Nya as kids in their parents' memorial. There was never a burial because their bodies were never found but judging by the destruction and uh, let’s say blood where they disappeared strongly suggests they were killed and taken by a powerful wild beast. In this memorial Kai and Nya's uncle (who would be taking care of them for a couple of years) gave them their parents' evolutionary stones that then evolved them into Vaporeon and Flareon (he didn't know the stones would do that since they had already evolved Maya and Ray). Kai still wears his stone as a necklace, and Nya has hers as an ear piercing.

Some concept sketches of Once Bitten, Twice Shy, and how jolteon!Jay would look with snake features. At least he would have a tail once more! :D

I started reading Naruto in hopes to learn from it, how the artist draws dynamic poses and such, but this ended up being the only pose I referenced from it bc I get sucked into the story of a comic too easily and forgot I was supposed to study the poses and stuff. So ye Cole in a cool Naruto pose. I probably messed up the legs.
