I just accidentally made un-tea?????
I made green tea, but I forgot there was an old bag of chai in the kettle, so I mixed chai water with decaf green tea, then I mixed in like a half table spoon or something of that honey from the dollar store that they aren't legally allowed to call honey because there's too much corn syrup in it and some almond milk and a single drop of coffee creamer because we ran out and???? It tastes like??? Nothing????
It has LESS flavor than my tap water! HOW do you EVEN-
I think I made a flavor that's only perceptible to shrimp, that's the only explanation

i know i’m pretty late to the party, but have some tma headcanons (mostly about jon and martin. i may do the other characters soon.)
- Jon is 5’10. He's not short. He’s actually one of the tallest on staff. But he slouches so much he usually ends up being 5’6, 5’5. He can be tall when he wants to, he just has a good half a foot of height that he straight up does not use.
- The man also takes pretty good care of his hygiene and appearance. It's not the same as taking care of himself, of course, not much can make him do that. But he is already so insecure about people thinking he's unfit for the job. Being a bunch of minorities doesn’t help to soothe this instinct, neither does the fact that, in reality, he IS unfit for the job. VERY.
- Martin is the best researcher in the entire institute. He pulls off hiding that he hasn't done anything like this before and ends up being the most reliable and competent assistant in a matter of months. He was led to this type of job because he would always do a bunch of research when lying on applications, in order to get away with it. He really took to researching, and figured a paranormal institute was unserious enough to let him in.
- Jon registered that Martin's initial incompetence was because of being unqualified about 4 and a half minutes after Martin told him. He then re-cataloged every interaction they had had in his mind and came to the conclusion that Martin was a really gifted researcher. He then proceeded to not say anything about it for a whole season before randomly ranting about it to georgie one day, because he couldn't keep in how impressive that was.
#yesssss#smart martin rights#to even cope at the institute with no formal qualifications past GCSE!?!?#incredible#not to mention the whole thing with peter in s4#big brain martin#the magnus archives#tma#jonathan sims#martin blackwood#tma headcanons#jmart#jonmartin

This got a bit long for a reblog, so I'm making it a separate post
Regarding this reply to my "ugly pez dispenser live action Toothless" post.
I want to preface this by saying, I'm not picking a fight with this person, I just wanna back up my argument on why I think live action toothless is poorly designed with a solid argument.
I've seen many people say he looks exactly the same, perfect, etc. Others have broken down why he's not. I wanted to do so myself because I've been staring at him for over a decade and I feel very strongly about the differences in design.
First off, and worst. The face.
At first glance he seems alright, but then you start to notice the face shape is off. He looks like he just got back from the dentist. His face stricture is lumpy, where as the animated one(first movie, we are focusing on thr first movie here) is a much cleaner fluid shape.
His forehead spikes reach much further down, and combined with the bulkier brow ridges and more human shaped eyes he looks just, misshapen I'd call it.
Toothless had prominent brow ridges before, and it greatly added to his facial expressions and range of emotion. But those brows followed a line of action, smootly meeting at a point above his nose, and keeping his aerodynamic and sleek appearance. The same goes for his ears. They used to be bigger and more pointed.
In fact his whole frame and his legs used to be much more sleek. He kept his wings close to him, they almost disappear in his shape in the animated movie. In the live action they just look slapped on. Combine that, the digitigrade legs and the bulkier build. And he looks like that meme of "artist who only knows how to draw dogs draws a horse." Sure it looks like him. But not quite. It falls into the uncanny valley.
And I have to mention the eyes
Toothless's eyes are green, but they're not neon green. And not a single hue. He has a prominent dark green circle around his pupil, which fades into a more lime/dull green, maybe even yellowish color. And that gradient gives them to much depth and beauty, which the live action just lacks in every aspect of his deisgn.
In conclusion:
#this is brilliantly summarised op#i will never not just have an inherent dislike for this movie#httyd#httyd live action salt#toothless#anti httyd live action#how to train your dragon

you may even project all of these but some things get reused more than others... for me it's being aspec, giving the blorbos a cat, and headcanoning them as being good at singing lmao.

I actually fucking hate how the live action trailer depicted Toothless waking up after being shot down. The OG was framed so wonderfully, seeing his eye obscured by his wing only to reveal these slitted pupils staring at Hiccup, watching him. In this new version he just... wakes up ig. Tell me which one of these looks more like "the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself"
#still screaming crying throwing up over this#i am throthing at the mouth in unadulterated rage#httyd#how to train your dragon#anti httyd live action#httyd live action

I am taking this as an opportunity to showcase my creative vision:
Four series, each one has nine episodes with three 30-45 minute episodes dedicated to each book. This ensures there is enough time for the content of each book to be fully executed and explored and really effectively groups together the Twelve different books thematically.
-Series One (book one, two, and three): Light and silly. Introduces our main trio within the first season in addition to establishing Alvin as a true threat. Familiarises us with Berk and its inhabitants.
-Series two (book four, five and six): Still silly but a tiny bit darker tonality wise. Keeps Alvin present without him being at the forefront of our minds. Vital plot points are beginning to be introduced such as Hiccups one and two and lost things.
-Series three (book seven, eight, and nine): Tonal shift into something darker. Large dragons are introduced and Alvin becomes a real threat in our minds. Furious is introduced along with the witch upping the danger level. This season starts and ends with the slave mark.
-Series four (book ten, eleven, and twelve): Much dark tone as fits with the books. Hiccups family in slavery, the dragon war. By this time the young original viewers of series one should likely be old enough to understand the themes and ideas of the final season because they have grown with Hiccup. Final epilogue to be a extra ten minute or so episode at the end.
The first three episodes of each season are released all at once. After that they are released one by one.
In addition to this the animation (whilst being coloured) should increase in “intensity” as the show progresses. Going from Cowells original sketchy endearing style to the far more cinematic and spectacular style from the final books.
The voice acting cast for Hiccup, Fishlegs and Camicazi should be young unknowns. They need to feel young and excited in the first series, not like thirty-something jaded longtime mega star of voice acting (not that they can’t be involved elsewhere). Having them have a variety of British/Irish accents is also a possibility, eg. Irish Camicazi, more received pronunciation style for Hiccup, Northern Lancashire/manx accent for fishlegs, The vikings of Berk with thick Scottish accents.
I will take suggestions on the older voice cast with one exception: The Dragon Furious needs be voiced by David Tenant.
Please please add any more ideas to this I am bubbling at the seams full of inspo and need other people’s input lmao.

#very much agree#httyd is literally my longest running special interest and I am fuming about this#I genuinely almost had a meltdown over it earlier#it is so unnecessary and unneeded#give me a four series long animated tv show of the books#give me gibli style films of the books#give me creativity#give me artistry#not a terrible reboot of a 15year old movie with animation that could rival the films of today#how to train your dragon#httyd#anti httyd live action#httyd books
