Shen Qingqiu’s been making a good enough progress on spoiling his husband the way he deserves to be spoiled.

Luo Binghe has definitely become more relaxed about his position as the Emperor, talking about it during meals and even taking Shen Qingqiu on hunts and meetings on several occasions. He’s also learned to complain about people he finds annoying, which, turned out to be everyone besides Shen Qingqiu himself.

He is yet to embrace his, well, demonic features. Shen Qingqiu is unsure on how to help him, but he tries.

“Binghe looks especially good in red.” He notes one day. Luo Binghe blushes, of course, eyes going wide and, for some reason, pleading. He spends the rest of the night reminiscing about their wedding. It’s not bed, per se, but not what Shen Qingqiu is aiming for.

So, the next time Shang Qinghua comes for tea, he doesn’t bother with any silencing talismans and decides to just… not let the conversation stray too far.

He trusts Shang Qinghua to start talking about how good and cool his demon boyfriend is, and when he does, Shen Qingqiu shamelessly interrupts him.

“Sure, he might be strong.” He says, knowing for sure Luo Binghe is listening in. “But not as good as my Binghe.”

It might be a little embarrassing to talk about it like that, but it’s for the right cause!

“O-okay?” Shang Qinghua tilts his head.

“I just mean — Binghe is the strongest person in the world. He could take Mobei-Jun. He could take five Mobei-Juns.”

Maybe he can’t, but who cares? Shen Qingqiu needs Luo Binghe to understand how much he appreciates his demonic powers.

“Alright, bro. Your husband is super strong.”

“His claws can cut through Mobei-Jun’s ice in a second, I’m sure.”

“You talk about him the way an eight-year-old talks about his favorite power ranger.” Shang Qinghua rolls his eyes.

Shen Qingqiu huffs. He’s talking about his husband. There’s nothing childish about it.

“Binghe’s also got a pillar that would destroy you if you so much as looked at it.” He snaps. “No human has such a perfect dick. Would an eight-year-old say that?”

Shang Qinghua is silent for a moment. It’s enough for Shen Qingqiu to realize what he just said.

“I sure as fuck hope not?” Shang Qinghua coughs, obviously trying not to laugh.

Shen Qingqiu reaches for his fan. That is not what he was supposed to say. Fucking Airplane, always making him say things.

Well. No matter.

Binghe’s probably going to appreciate it anyway.

Shen Qingqiu: Sometimes it’s pushing your husband’s face away yelling because you have viral bronchitis and he keeps trying to kiss you knowing this because he’s a himbo with no sense of self preservation.

Alt Text: Cat Shen Qingqiu - Shen Yuan ( or Shen Nyan) has fallen asleep on his work table after a long day's work. brushes and papers and ink are scattered everywhere and the place is... quite the mess. The table, his paws, his office are all somewhat ink stained due to his new ... state of being (turned into a cat?). He has currently found a sunny spot to lay on... which just so happened to be on top of some paper work someone had neatly written before... oops.
