The Y’s to buy a new car
4 Good reasons to buy a car
1. ReliabilitY
After their home, a car is often a person’s second most expensive purchase. If you’re spending hard-earned dollars on a new vehicle, you’ll want to make sure you receive some high-quality craftsmanship in return. Luckily, cars from the past few years are earning a reputation for being more reliable than ever, and nothing says “reliability” quite like a shiny, brand-new car. We all know someone bemoaning the tragedy that “They don’t make them like they used to,” and sure, recalls might grab headlines, but the vast majority of new-car shoppers enjoy levels of reliability simply not found in older vehicles.
2. WarrantY
So new cars are more reliable, but what do you do if your brand-new car does break down? Nobody wants to find themselves having to shell out for major repairs right after signing a check to a dealership. Although Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle warranties can make a used car appealing, new-car warranties are universally better. A standard CPO warranty might offer you 12 months or 12,000 miles of coverage, but it’s rare to find a manufacturer selling new vehicles with less than a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Warranties represent a major incentive to buy new, and you could say the public’s appreciation for them is… warranted.
3.SafetY
Seatbelts, airbags, maybe even a backup camera: These are features you can expect when buying a used car. However, if your list of safety needs includes the latest tech, your best bet will be found on the new-car market. Parents, in particular, view safety as primary criteria when choosing a car, and manufacturers are putting in more and more advanced safety tech each year. If you want your next car to include bells and whistles like lane-departure mitigation or automatic emergency braking, you will have more options by buying new.
4.TechnologY
Do you remember your first car? Do have an 8 track player or you kept a binder full of CDs on the passenger seat. Some drivers made the most of a tape deck in their first car, while others were forced to find a good radio station to keep them entertained. What we mean is, technology has come a long way. From Apple CarPlay to satellite radio, new cars include technology you may be hard pressed to find in a used car. This extends beyond your tunes, too. Head-up displays, touchscreens, and voice-recognition software don’t just make your car more fun to drive, they’re tech advancements that make it safer, too.

Winter offers drivers a whole new set of hazards and challenges on the road. From weather to huge cracks in the highway, a lot can go wrong. One of the worst of these is the infamous pothole. These bad boys can cause a lot of damage to your vehicle so it’s best to avoid them. That’s why I put together tips for driving with potholes. Take a look, and stay safe!
Avoid Water | Water on the road can be deceiving. A puddle might look shallow, but actually be a foot deep pothole. Avoiding puddles can mean the difference between getting to your destination on time and a costly axle repair.
Look | This is kind of a no brainer, but it can’t be emphasized enough. Make sure you’re always watching for hazards and obstructions in the roadway. Put your cell phone down.
Check your tires | You can avoid possible damage by making sure that your tires are filled to the correct PSI. An over- or underinflated tire could mean a tear or a burst which is an unfortunate inconvenience on any drive.
Slow down | This is the absolute best way to deal with and avoid any obstructions in the road. Slowing down increases your reaction time when you see a danger in the road, and it also will likely increase your following distance if the driver in front of you reacts poorly.
There are a few key things to remember while driving to ensure pothole driving safety. Generally all-around defensive driving will help in these situations. The more time you give yourself to react to something, the more likely it is that you will safely maneuver through a situation.

Its finally time to do my brakes, only after driving 140,000 miles on the first set of brake pads. Just another reason to drive a Hybrid.
Remember to put the tire under your car so if the jack moves your still safe.
and here we go, time to loosen up the caliber
once the caliper is over you want to remove the metal piece that is between the caliper and brake pad (as you can see i have no pad to go((oops))
Do not let the caliper hang. Place the caliper on the rotor. This is the time to take the pads off.
Top is my brake pad and the bottom is the new one. Can not complain 140 thousand miles on pads. 4 years of driving and one set of brake pads! Thank you hybrid braking system
Put it all back together and remember the brake grease (helps with brake noise)
Remember to tighten all the lug nuts and your ready to go. Remember to do a brake check in the driveway before your on the road.
