So I was watching Gift of the Night Fury and Hiccup putting on his helmet at the beginning of the film made me think of something kinda cute. After the dragons begin living on Berk and Stoick is fully aware of his son's pet, what if he insisted on Hiccup wearing the helmet almost all the time? Like Hiccup gets up in the morning and runs downstairs to go out with Toothless and Stoick just grabs him by the back of his vest and puts the helmet on him saying something like "You lost your leg flying a dragon, you're not losing your head next."

Cuz it's been established Stoick is a bit of a protective dad so I can imagine he sees his skinny toothpick of a son with a metal foot hopping on a 500 lb cat lizard with flight patterns only he can control and just KNOWS one wrong foot movement could mean smacking into a cliff or tree so he insists on the helmet. You can't tell me this didn't happen for the first one or two weeks of dragons living among the vikings until Hiccup was able to show his dad that he is fully aware of what he's doing.

I can't stop thinking about what Stoick was thinking after HTTYD, when dragons lived among them and his son taught him their kindness and intelligence.

Like Valka was right, and if he had listened to her fifteen years ago then they would still be together.

Shhhh I know. *grabbing your cheeks with iron grip* Lucy is not one of those noble gals, no, she's mean, we know...if you've read the books you know she's mean. Her inner monologues are judgemental and can be unkind. But I love her anyway because hey guess what some people gotta learn to be less mean and Lucy did that. That's why I love that the books characters are younger than the ones in the tv series cz you can really get into this mean, judgemental kid's pov and it's just 15 y/o kid who's been traumatized by her mother, lived in a small town in a desperate situation and she has her narrow worldview but then she learns to be better. She's a breath of fresh air *stuffing your mouth with cottonballs* in a sea of characters who always knows what's right and wrong who's inner monologues are always nice or just slightly 🤏🏻 a little not nice, people say they want unconventional characters *grabbing more cottonballs* but gotta criticize when one actually appears...shsshhhhhshhhhh here, *stuffs your mouth with cottonballs until you stop breathing*

my name is Aya, I am 26 years old, currently living in the northern part of Gaza City, and I am a mother of two children. My oldest is my daughter, Sana'a, who is 5 years old, and my youngest is my son, Wasfi, who is 3.

Since the morning of October 7th, 2023, our lives have been turned upside down. We have lived through the hardest days of our lives, facing displacement and homelessness. We have been forced to leave our home more than ten times since the war began. We would leave without knowing where to go.

We sought refuge in schools and relatives' homes, hoping we could return home and that this nightmare would end. But our house was bombed, and our dreams were destroyed. We became homeless and displaced.

Every day, we wake up to the sound of bombs and rockets. I lived in constant fear and terror with my children, especially when my family's house was bombed while we were taking shelter there.

We are experiencing a real famine in Gaza. I’ve gone to bed with my children many nights without dinner because there is no food available. We have had to eat animal and bird feed due to the high cost of flour just to fill the hunger of my young children. Even after eating it, we all suffered from diarrhea and severe stomach pain. My children developed rashes on their bodies due to the spread of viruses and the accumulation of garbage. There is also a severe shortage of water, and even when we find it, it's not safe to drink.

My children cry, asking for vegetables, fruits, and eggs, but we can’t afford them because we have no income. The gas shortage has forced us to use fire for everything—cooking and baking—using plastic and pipes because firewood is so hard to find.

My children also developed jaundice, and I struggled a lot to get them better because there was no access to vegetables, fruits, or medicine. I even feared that my son might have developed polio because he already had leg problems before the war, and they worsened due to malnutrition.

Winter is coming, and we have nothing for it. I need clothes and shoes for my children to keep them warm, but I can’t buy them because they are so expensive.

For this reason, I beg of you and hope that you can support me, even with the smallest contribution, so I can provide my children with the most basic necessities of life.

I was displaced with my children to my family's house, tears in my eyes. On the way, Salah Al-Din Street was bombed, and the Israeli occupation committed horrific massacres. By the grace of God, we survived for the first time. We lived in terror and fear. A few days later, my family's house was bombed, and we were pulled out from under the rubble, miraculously surviving for the second time.

When my husband heard the news that we had died, he came to bid us farewell, only to find us alive by God's grace. We returned with him, but as the situation worsened and the fire belts in our area increased, we started to flee again and again, not knowing where to go next.

I beg of you to share my story and help me continue to live.

What if the thing that makes Lockwood immediately attach to Lucy is that she can still feel? What if, in a society where the children have been turned into soldiers and any form of vulnerability is seen as weakness, Lockwood sees Lucy Carlyle and is struck with how good she is. Because he's turned off his emotions, done everything he can to go numb, but she can't do that. She stands in front of him, a bleeding heart, day in and day out. And she's just as strong as him. She picks up her rapier and fights beside him. And she is still moved by the suffering of others, by beauty, by everything.

Maybe when Lockwood says "We need you, Lucy. And it's not because you're an asset...because you're Lucy Carlyle" what that really translates to is "we need you because you see the world in a way we can't anymore. We need you because there is a part of your heart that has somehow escaped unscathed—the part that feels. And in this calloused, cruel world, we need you. We need you to remind us beauty exists and life is worth living."
