Illusions.

The more I think of them, the more I wonder just how long my nose has been nestled between the pages of a book.

Maybe, I’ve been blind the moment my family turned their backs on me. Maybe, I’ve been broken ever since I let a monster hold my heart. Maybe— just maybe, I may never look up from the pages of my beloved books.

Once I look up, I am afraid of being let down. Too afraid to risk drowning by someone’s hands that aren’t mine.

Let me be delusional.

Let me believe nothing is real.

I thought as long as I was in the top three

I find myself exhausted and lost on what to do

What must a teenage girl get done

And increase the speed of her life to an abnormal pace?

Because I thought it was okay to just be top three

I am not the girl that one could fall for at first sight

One may have to find me on a dark, gloomy night

A time to see me out of the shell I grew too big within

Watching me as I unravel my heart from ungrateful sins

However, if one is willing to be there under the sun

I won't mind being open and having childish fun

For I am as young as the rest of my peers

Even if growing up may take them many more years
