So you’re saying.... you finished a workout program and you didn’t post about it every day OR take before and after pics?!!
Yes, that’s what I’m saying. Well, I have two days left in the program and will finish in entirety by Monday but why haven’t I posted and why didn’t I take pictures?
Well, I have a few reasons:
Reason 1: The desire to start and finish this program was for nobody other than myself. I just wanted to do something for me and not for social media, my business, just me. And I really, really enjoyed it. The workout is 21 days and it actually took me more like 28 to finish. I missed a workout here or there and then picked back up continuing along without feeling the pressure to answer to someone. It was between me, myself, and I for the first time in a really long time.
Reason 2: I want to be known as more than a workout girl, more than a transformation picture, and more than a fitness coach. I am all of these things, yes and I have been for a long time! But I am so much more. As I really spread my wings into my love of writing, I want to be known for my words more than my transformation or someone who can help in the way of weight loss. I can do those things but that’s not who I am. So if I am going to change what people know me for, I have to change what I put out for the world.
Reason 3: This is the biggest reason for me. I didn’t need pictures for my own worth in this particular season of my life, so my only intent for me personally taking pictures would have been for social media and too many people I know are entirely too consumed in the comparison trap that happens on social media. Feelings of inadequacy and being less than enough, feelings of guilt and self-remorse, feelings of doubt and insecurities are plaguing too many of the people that I know and love. And it’s because of the freakin social media highlight reel. I know that transformations inspire people and I know that I have been a big part of this world for a long time but i just feel as though my life and many of the lives of many of my friends are consumed by transformation pictures, diet plans, lose weight for summer guides, cleanses, juices, competitions and quite frankly, I am exhausted of it all. (I know ...you’re probably thinking but you’re a part of it, Krystle! Trust me, I know. And I’ve been trying to figure out this pivot for a while now) BUT I do find it valuable and of top priority to continue to take care of my body and also inspire others to do the same but there’s gotta be a better way. I know that if I am feeling a way, several of my close friends and many of my clients are feeling the same way, then we can not be the only ones. I also feel as though if you can’t be the solution, which I don’t feel there is one, then at least don’t be a part of the problem.
So all that to say - I don’t want to put up just another transformation for someone to be caught up in. I want to break the scroll with something other than me in a sports bra or a side by side picture of myself. I’ve done my fair share of that over the years and it has served its purpose but now i just want to help others without needing to be on this rat race of results, results, results to do it. It just doesn’t feel authentic to me anymore.  I want to be there for people because I am Krystle and I am a friend, a mentor, a coach ... my physical results don’t need to be the proof that I can help you succeed. I’ve put in my work and now I want to continue to nurture my body and be a good coach whether or not I ever have another transformation from the next Beachbody program that is put on the market. Will I do it? Probably. But I dont feel that i need to prove myself in order to show that I can help others succeed.
I want to inspire others to live their best life, their most authentic life, their truth and for some people - that doesn’t equate to weight loss or the completion of a 21 day program. So if I want to do that then what I put out to the world needs to be more than a sweaty selfie for 21 days or MORE results than I’ve already shown.
I want my words, my heart, my mind to keep me relevant - not my body.
This is just another part of me living my truth and becoming wonderfully content in who I am.

Lady Gaga Responds to Body Shamers
Tumblr media

Lady Gaga, a fierce LGBT ally, political activist, feminist, and friend to all her fans, is now standing up for herself.
After being body shamed for having a non-existent “pot belly” during her Super Bowl half time performance, the singer has responded in a lengthy and thoughtful Instagram post.
I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do. I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga

“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too. No matter who you are or what you do,” she wrote. “I could give you a million reasons why you don’t need to cater to anyone or anything to succeed. Be you, and be relentlessly you. That’s the stuff of champions. thank you so much everyone for supporting me. I love you guys. Xoxo, gaga.”
While Gaga, who will be performing at the Grammys on Sunday with Metallica, was certainly a victim of negative body talk, supporters defended her in droves on social media.
Hey @ladygaga thanks for showing the fact that you have a real body. I’m over people body shaming. Get a life. She is perfect.

I’m annoyed & disgusted that people would comment negatively about @ladygaga’s body after her Super Bowl performance. Her bod is rockin.

if you have a problem with @ladygaga body, then i have a problem with you????

Ashley Legg, a popular fitness blogger, shared on Facebook, that Gaga’s harassment “is an example of why many people are insecure about the way they look, why physical standards are set so high and why humans experience disorders like anorexia or bulimia. THIS IS NOT OK.” She continued, “People need to stop criticizing others because of their bodies. We are not objects. We are humans. We are flawed and our flaws our beautiful.”
“The rest of us think Lady Gaga is an inspirational, beautiful rockstar with an awesome body,” Erin Thomas, a local news anchor, said. “Social media has gotten out of control when it comes to fat shaming, and still, some wonder why so many people in America have problems with their body image. If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
Others have been inspired by Gaga to share their own stomachs.
people body shaming lady gaga better come at me and my busted can of biscuits next !!!! pic.twitter.com/mnsG4J2Bdi

When Gaga was similarly attacked in the past, she used the experience to help others then as well by launching a body revolution on her website.

I am pretty basic when it comes to meal planning.
Every week I choose ONE, sometimes TWO breakfasts.  This week I went with one that I will have every day.
To make overnight oats:
Measure 1/2 cup rolled oats. (I like the extra thick kind) Add 1/2 cup almond milk. Sweeten with Stevia or even better - honey and cinnamon. Add fruit of choice. Store in airtight container overnight. Eat cold or reheat. (I prefer mason jars for storage)
Shakeology is the healthiest meal of my day. It is packed with 70 whole food ingredients, 30 of which are superfoods. It is all natural and fuels my body with dense nutrition that it craves. I don’t miss a day of it and it is always my 2nd meal of the day. Learn more here!
I’m pretty much addicted to bananas and peanut butter SO it’s a staple on my nutrition plan. I also feel a big difference in my physical aches and pains when I am not getting my banana a day in. Soo I eat it every day of my life :)
For lunches, I make two options for the week.
Monday and Tuesday I made a basic bean soup from the Bob’s Red Mill 13 Bean Soup Mix that I will serve over spinach. Any soups, stews, or anything hot and steamy, I usually serve over a bed of spinach to get in an easy veggie serving.
Roasted Veggie bowls with brown rice & sweet onion sauce.
Choose veggies of choice. I will use peppers, broccoli, and asparagus. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and roast on 375 for about 30 minutes or until tender. I am so basic - I use boil in a bag brown rice.
For the onion sauce:
3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar 1/2 cup cucumber (peeled) 1/4 cup white onion (chopped) 1/2 clove garlic 4 small dates (pitted) pinch Himalayan Sea Salt 1 Tbsp poppy seeds (added at the end) pepper to taste 1 Tbsp filtered water (to blend)
Roast the onions the same as the veggies above until caramelized. Blend all ingredients except poppy seeds in food processor. Once all ingredients are blended, Add poppy seeds and mix gently.
Afternoon snack is pretty self explanatory: Low sodium, organic turkey breast with slices of raw red pepper rolled up with a smear of goat cheese. Thank me later. ;)
Dinners: For dinners, I look at what I have in the freezer or left over from the previous week. I look up some recipes on Pinterest . I try to keep the recipes similar so it is less ingredients that I have to buy each week. So for example, my first two dinners this week are fish with cilantro lime toppings (both pinned in my healthy recipes board) .
Zucchini pizzas are so simple. Take your favorite pizza sauce (when I don't have time to make my own, I look for ones low in sodium and added ingredients. The more I can pronounce on the ingredients list, the better!) Slice lengthwise and scoop out the middle. Top with sauce and mozzarella cheese or cheese of choice. Bake for 25 minutes on 375 or until zucchini can be pierced with a fork.
This week I have Tempeh in my fridge that needs to be used so I am pulling out an old Ultimate Reset recipe (A 21 day detox plan involving whole foods and a gentle cleansing of your body: Learn more HERE or email me for questions @ KrystleJBailey.com )
There a gazillion versions of spaghetti squash boats found on pinterest. Another super easy recipe and easy way to get in VEGGIES! Eat all the veggies!!
I hope this help you! If you’d like to see more recipes, tools for success, as well as work with me as your coach and support system, contact me today to learn more about my private accountability and support group that guides you to wellness from the inside out.

That doesn’t matter...
It is so easy to get so caught up in the things that seem important in the moment but that when you you take a step back or a few months pass, you realize were never that important to begin with.
On a journey of self reflection, self growth, and self improvement, you begin to see things for what they really are and on a grand scale. You begin to see what really matters in life.
Let’s take a look at perspective when it comes to a health / fitness journey:
How many of us start out on a health journey only to be crushed by that first time we hit a plateau? Been there! More times than I can count. And I’m here to tell you... it doesn’t really matter.
Or you’re cruising along on your clean eating lifestyle when pizza is brought into your house. You eat more than your belly’s worth, feel like you’ve failed yet again, and sit around feeling bad about yourself. Guess what? Doesn’t really matter.
You nailed three weeks of your workouts when all of a sudden your kid gets sick and you miss a week of working out while you are taking care of them. You feel bad because you ruined your streak. Doesn’t matter.
You’ve been 100% on plan when you go out with your girlfriends for drinks, catch a buzz, and eat food that wasn’t part of the plan. Doesn’t matter.
You know what I see when I hear these conversations from people?
I see a mom who puts her kids above anything else.
I see a person doing their best and living well while still enjoying the little things like oosey cheesy pizza once in a while.
I see a human who is trying to live better day by day.
I see a friend not missing out on life because they’re too worried about failing on their meal plan.
I don’t see failure in any of those examples and yet, for most of us, that is what we feel in those moments. Like we have failed in some way.
I challenge you to seek perspective and be present in the moments, accepting them for what they are and knowing that you will continue to put one foot in front of the other because that’s what you do - you keep going. You don’t quit. You keep going.
I challenge you to see your life from a bird’s eye view .. helicopter UP and take a look at the big picture.
I challenge you to show yourself grace through each moment. These are just a few examples focused around one particular area of life but there are feelings of failure in all facets of life.
Ask yourself - will this matter tomorrow? In a week? In six months? If the answer is “no” then bless and release it!
How can you flip the script on your story to see the good?
How can you change your story to one of success?
Remember, it’s what you do most days that counts. Keep showing up for your life knowing that not every day will be great but there is greatness found in every day. It’s there. You just have to open your eyes to see it.

F their standards.
This is me. I am 175lbs.
I wear a size 8 jeans.
I am happy, healthy, and strong
I weighed 175lbs before.. I was on my road to weighing less. I was brainwashed to think according to BMI and, sadly, some people in my direct life, that 175lbs was overweight. Actually, borderline obese for my height.
So guess what I saw in the mirror at that time of my life? You guessed it - someone who was overweight and borderline obese and needed to lose 30 more pounds in order to be considered healthy. I went on to lose those 30 more pounds only to find myself unhealthy mentally and physically unhealthy and extremely skinny. But it wasn’t the BMI scales fault or those that were supposed to be guiding me to health.. it wasn’t anybody’s fault except mine. I chose to believe false truths. That was my truth. I was 175lbs and overweight.
Fast forward a few years and I’ve rewritten my own truths about myself and my life. I’ve learned to love and embrace exactly who I AM.. not what anybody expects me to be or tells me I should be.
I looked myself in the mirror today and LOVED what I saw looking back at me. I saw someone who:
-Doesn’t over train
-Doesn’t deprive herself
-Eats a cookie when she wants one without guilt
-Is not obsessive
-Doesn’t count every morsel she eats and every calorie she burns
-Works out less than an hour a day
-Eats clean most of the time but loves chocolate, wine, and carbs and enjoys them as she feels necessary
-Sleeps well
-Lives a content life
-Finds joy in every moment
-Doesn’t have a 6 pack and is okay with that
-Is more than a conqueror in Jesus.
Someone who is getting ready for her wedding next year NOT by eating only kale but by embracing the moments and the life leading up to marriage… looking forward to the mimosas and loving on her family.
HOW am I this content?
I rewrote my truths. I rewrote my story. I wrote it how I see fit. I wrote it according to MY standards and nobody else’s. Rewrite your own truths. You own your life.

The One Word of 2017 is FINISH.
Finish what I start.
I’ve been saying I’d start blogging again for too long and found myself stuck time and time and time again in paralysis not knowing what platform, what format, what words, what cover photo blah blah blah and instead of doing something, I’ve done nothing.
That ends now.
Excited to be back and looking forward to sharing life together!!
Good things to come!
God is faithful.
