Used Keda Wood Dye to do this Pine work bench for the shop looking for a more "Rustic" look.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Used Keda Powder Dye and a little Keda liquid dye mixed into 16 oz warm water in a pretty heavy mix, probably dont need this much but is as follows:
Keda Powder Dye:
Yellow: 1/2 Tsp
Brown: 1/8 tsp
Red: Pea Size
Keda Liquid Dye:
Amber Yellow: 1/4 tsp
Walnut Brown: 3 Drops
Crimson Red: 3 Drops
1 tbsp Keda Dye Stain Additive (Final Testing insuring oil based sealers work well over the additive added to dye stain colors)
Tumblr media
Let dry then sealed her up with an oil based polyurethane so she ambers even more as she ages :)
Tumblr media
Complete with LED lights so set the mood while I am working I guess hahaha

About 6.5 feet x 10.5 feet x 37 inches high and 35 inches wide. Will make a great work space I think. Some of these boards were repurposed from an old bunk bed :)

Not the sexiest homemade wood rack but is a pretty good start at holding wood lol will finish up later, but just want to get basics done to get back to somewhat normal operations. I am tired
I didnt even sand these boards at all
Love this color :) Makes Douglas Fir look like a dark walnut wood or if I really use my imagination perhaps a Babinga wood. Oh and all I sealed these with only 1 coat of boiled linseed oil
Used Keda Wood Dye Powders
Mixed dyes into 2 oz water
Added 16 oz rubbing alcohol to speed up dry time
2 tbsp Keda Stain Additive (still finalizing testing but worked awesome today... is going to be kinda difficult to describe the stain additive functionality well 🤔)
Brown: 1.50 grams
Black: 1.00 grams
Red: 1.00 grams
Blue: 0.20 grams
Tumblr media
Is a VERY heavy stain mix, and could probably go to 24 ounces, but I didnt sand these boards at all, just used finishing cut on planer cause I was rushing and was exhausted ...just being honest

I love the look of this sexy beauty. The gorgeous guitar stain color transitioning from red, to pinks/magenta, to black pulls together beautifully! Awesome all around guitar build 👍🏻

Mixed 10 grams of Keda Blue Dye Powder to about 2 oz of water, added that to 1 gallon of polycyclic, and colored this chipboard wall entire (easily 700 -750 square feet) with 2 coats of colored sealer. The base board, was pine with Sugi and blue liquid Dye diluted to make the nice sky blue stain color. Still a work in progress though :)

See, even I get carried away with applying Keda Dye sometimes 😂🤣🥴 hahaha She really went a bit too dark. I literally need a flashlight for the camera to pick up color on this. I did want a "Dark Purple" to " "Plumb Purplish" color for this, but I was absolutely mesmorized while applying them hahaha. I think it would make a very cool fade on a purple guitar though as an option to straight black, or maybe tritone coloring 😉
Anyways...I am still going to do a video on this color though, just because it is one of several "Purple Stain" color options, and someone may want to do something similar.
Mix was:
4 oz Acetone
Keda Dye Liquid Dye Crimson Red = 1/4 tsp*
Keda Dye Liquid Royal Blue 1/2 tsp + 1/8th tsp
Then added a couple drops of the liquid blue dye concentrate to the purple stain saturated cloth and applied.
* if I did again would go with 1/8th tsp of Keda red dye liquid, or just add drops until I liked the purple color I was aiming for
If I went with less red, I think she would have hit the target faster, and wouldn't need to add the blue concentrate atop. I will do that formula too 🤷‍♂️ This really is a very cool purple color though 💜. Is dark purple, and tough to see until you get closer, or bright light hits it, which is what I wanted, but just a little darker than I expected.

This handmade clock really is gorgeous, I just suck at photography lol
Clock is all done and hung in her new home now...whew. Clock is solid Oak wood, has 4 mirrors, 2 hinged wings, and pendulum. Hangs on wall at 2.5 feet wide and 3.5 feet tall. Is finished with a mix of Keda Liquid Dye from the 5 color liquid dye kit mixed as an alcohol dye stain and sealed with polyurethane. Mostly the Keda Amber Yellow, with a couple drops of red and brown :) Video really doesn't do this any clock justice...

Olive green guitar body colored with Keda 5 color powder dye kit. Think that would be a pretty cool color part to a camoflage guitar finish?

Tele Tuesday!!! My good friend Brian Mackewich’s custom Petillo Tele. The top is a rare two-piece book matched German quilted/bubbly grain maple. Check out the dyed horizontal Ocean Blue Burst. We have a surprise on the hardware with something that has never been done before.
