Maturing is realising that Dietfried was one of the best characters in Violet Evergarden. His relationship development was slow but needed just like how his hate for her was reasonable.

How he treated her was cruel but I can't blame him but that dosen't mean that it was any less bad.

We also see the growth in him when Claudia "attacks" him for his words and he apologies for it and admits that he is in fact really bad sometimes at expressing himself with his words sometimes.

He became very self aware wich I enjoyed to see and definetly love to see.

I like how he had a reason to dislike her and that it was not bad impression and whatever, no.

And that they acually had a development, Especially in the movie we saw how he really changed, how he forgave her and that he really wanted the best for her and to see her happy.

Definetly my fav typ of characters.

All in all I just want to say that his character was needed in the show too bc then Violet would have been liked by all the characters and that wouldn't be realistic at all, he was also needed for her development and growth and his own too.
