Above is the link to the updated cover
The Fire Tongue Heir by Elyse Thomson This novella came as a gift for subscribing to Elyse’s newsletter. This is the best gift I have gotten from any newsletter in my entire life!
I am blown away again. When I read Poisoned Empire, I walked away with a lot of questions concerning Darius (no spoilers if you have not read Poisoned Empire). And this book answered them all. To see how it came to be, who was behind everything, and though I still have a lot of questions about what happened between this book and Poisoned Empire, I am still enraptured with this world! Elyse’s spellbinding storytelling makes the world come alive.
Darius is my favorite character. When you first read him, you think some pretty awful things, just keep reading, I am glad I did. There is something about a man with a lackadaisical nature and a charming smile.
Nadia, oh Nadia. Brains, Beauty, Bravery, and Benevolence is a dangerous combination in any world imagined. Even possessing two of them can make any main character formidable but to possess all four makes a main character a thrill to read and Nadia has that.
I anxiously wait for the Conspirator's Kingdom. To read where Elyse takes us and what more could enfold in this next installment, is worth the wait.

I loved this series, and I loved this book more. I won't lie Darius had his position of Favorite Character challenged with Sigimar. Still debating on it honestly. Vivid characters, mesmerizing landscapes, intrigue and betrayal all wrapped in the pages. But at the heart was this amazing love affair that defied the odds, changed the characters and well you just need to read it.

This book had me from the first chapter. Villain meets Villainess. Villainess has been wronged, Villain has too. They make a deal, that deal escalates to a whirlwind of passion, intrigue, magic and corruption like none other!
If you are like me watching the inner workings of two villains hellbent on getting what they deserve this book is for you. It was hard to not love both Mereruka and Taisiya as they plotted out their schemes with the help of their companions Bas and Vasilisa. This book will keep you turning pages till the end. Set in a world like ancient Egypt with colorful vibrant Fae to dazzle and amaze, the lands of Maat is unlike that of the Mages. Kudo's to Elyse Thomson for writing an outstanding book about two villains getting what they deserve in all the best ways possible!
"Fight with me, Taisiya, and I will make you a queen so powerful so wealthy you'll pity your empress for her wretched lot. Not only will the mages beg your forgiveness for ostracizing you, they'll be fighting themselves for your favour."

his is my honest review.
Thanks to the Library network I was able to get my hands on this delight of a book!
I cannot recommend this enough to people. The world that you meet Selene and Iliana in is rich with political intrigue, daring characters, and an Emperor that stole this reader's heart. Selene is a wondrously humorous main character with a sass to her that makes you wonder from chapter to chapter, "Oh goodness now what is she going to do?" Not out of exasperation, but truly wanting to know, what more can this woman do that will make everyone around her either roll their eyes or make plans to silence her.
And she is equally matched in Iliana, who is a breath of calm fresh air to Selene's threats of clearing a room and taking everyone with her when she does. The metal mage proves time and time again she is not a side kick but an equally amazing character.
Then there is Belisarius and Marduk. Two halves that should have never fit that did much like Selene and Iliana. At one point I truly felt bad for these two having to handle every single antic Selene throws at them with a smile on her face.
I digress. If you love fantasy in a rich world that will keep you turning pages and hanging on every single antic from this amazing cast of characters, read this book. Also grab the novella! Elyse did us a solid and gave us more of Darius *swoons*.

Received as an ARC copy. This is my honest review.
Honestly, I needed another cozy fantasy and this hit the spot. Classic fantasy with fae and a mild possession. No/Low spice but a lot of slow burn woven in. Megan's writing draws you further and further in with each chapter, like reading a modern-day Jane Austen. I am sad to be done with this book. Can't wait for book 2, truthfully! Team Fael or Team Seb I can't make a choice, both are extraordinary.
5/5 stars highly recommend No spice rating and that isn't a bad thing.

Satyr is a cozy fantasy romance for the season!
This is a story about an Orc running an in and the human woman who happens to love food as much as he does. Elaine and Satyr's slow burn romance is one that you can get lost in easily and not be disappointed. Side characters turned main characters are a jam in this delightfully soft but fun found family cozy tale.
Please read the trigger warnings before proceeding a few heavy subjects are inside. Bring tissues.

I am grateful I got chosen to read this arc. Honestly this cozy haunting witchy read needs to be on people's TBR. The first half was a little slow but once it took off I couldn't stop turning pages. Haunting but in a good way. I can't wait for book 2!

What a useful book! Even if you know how to write the damn book I suggest getting this one. The use of pop culture, humor, noteworthy global events(looking at you COVID), and laughter worthy analogies to convey and explain various elements of writing was a delight! No fancy graphics to distract from the immense amount of information found within 131 pages. One of many standout points of this book is E.Prybylski adds a summary at the end of each chapter. Now for some that may not be much, but for me I can go back and look at that if I'm looking for specific help and not go wading through thegarden to find what I am looking for. I feel stronger as an writer and will be getting E.Prybylski's second book in this series.

“Oh, Darling, if this is how our time together is going to go, I’ve already won.”
I loved this book!
Ella and Eugene have become my favorite book couple. Ella's sweet nature combined with Eugene and Old Boy's creepy but charming dispositions keeps you on your toes all the way to the end. And that end was not what I was expecting!
The supporting characters throughout the book were not overly done and you saw them only when they were needed while becoming entangled in the budding story between Eugene and Ella.
What got me the most was I got to see myself in a character for once. I have read hundreds(my husband insists thousands) of books and have yet to see myself in a FMC, till now. Even my own characters are not half as close as what Azalea Crowley did with her character Ella.
And Eugene, oh smiling Eugene, how can anyone not fall helplessly for him. His old time speech, dapper clothing choices and charming disposition makes it hard to not crush on him.

Extremely Slow Burn Enemies to Sorta Lovers Fantasy Romance.
I got this in the Romance Bookworms SYK event, and was pleasantly surprised. It is an extremely slow burn, he falls first, grumpy sunshine, enemies to sorta lovers, fake identity ride. It starts slow, and takes a while to build up but by the time it does its too late: You are hooked! Gavril and Marcella are not the main characters some folks are used to but boy are they something to fall for. Also that ending! What a cliff hanger! The character growth and arc is what kept me reading, honestly its a breath of fresh air lately.

What a delightful read! Damien and Amma are the epitome of Grumpy/Sunshine. This book left me laughing, cheering and hoping and it delivered. Honestly I can't wait to read the other two and see where this whole thing with Damien and Amma go.
5/5 stars - I really loved this book

Loved this book!
This is what happens when you take a classic Arthurian Legend and swap alignments. Arthur is the villain and Morgan is the protagonist! While Lancelot and Merlin are women too! I couldn't get enough of the gender swapping going on in this book. The storytelling was superb and a delight to read. Nicely paced and overall wasn't bogged down in world building and info dumping. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
