Something that drives me crazy is how things could have played out if the first three Tinkerbell movies were consistent with the lore of Secret of the Wings.

CAN YOU ALL IMAGINE THAT THEY WOULD HAVE HAD THE MEETING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BORDER BECAUSE THEY NEED TO DISCUSS THE PROLONGING OF WINTER

CLARION AND MILORI WOULD HAVE HAD TO MEET

AND IMAGINE THE ANGST BECAUSE INSTEAD OF THEIR SWEET REUNION THEY HAVE TO MEET IN THESE STRESSFUL CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE SHE NEEDS TO ASK HIM TO PUT THE WINTER FAIRIES BACK TO WORK AND HE HAS TO SEE FOR HIS PEOPLE.

Loved Wings of Starlight! As happy as I am to get Clarion and Milori's backstory, I am also very that happy we finally have canon queer characters in Pixie Hollow! I really liked Petra and Artemis' relationship! So I wanted to draw the scene where we first meet them!

So I noticed something when I was flipping through one of my fairy books.

Do the wings look familiar?

So originally, winter fairies had these kind of wings. But this was changed at the last minute. I believe their wings were changed to fit the plot of Secret of the Wings. Tink and Peri’s wings couldn’t really match if they weren’t the same shape. But why were their wings shaped like this to begin with?

The pictures come from the book “The World of Fairies: At the Dawn of Pixie Hollow” which came out in 2009, a three years before “Secret of the Wings” came out. So it looks like for a while, the winter fairies were planned to have these wings.

@vivalaplutothedachshund here you go!! i had a lot of fun drawing and coloring the Fairies in the LU art style, though there wasn't too much to change since they already kinda fit the style already! Also, i had to include Terrence, as well as a reference to BOTW Great Fairies 🤣 Poor Hyrule just can't catch a break, but the fairies do mean well, they just wanna help him! 🩵 thanks again for your patience with this request, i hope you like it!!

One of the unexpected sides of parenting is that I’m slowly being exposed to media I wasn’t aware existed, and finding myself gradually intrigued by the lore and world building. Specifically I’m getting my head stuck on the lore of Pixie Hollow, with Tinkerbell and all the Disney Fairies.

They’re colourful, sweet, focused on lessons about friendship, and slowly answer questions about the world with each movie.

And there’s a bunch of questions that they never answer.

Like, we know a fairy is born when a child first laughs. And we get the idea that they ‘die’ when their child stops believing. But I don’t yet know what that ‘death’ looks like, whether they just fade away, or vanish, or just drop one day.

And most fairies look youthful, and most about the same age, which is a similar appearance to when they’re first spawned. Yet there are some fairies with a distinctly older appearance: Queen Clarion, the lords of the seasons, Fairy Mary and Fairy Gary.

At first I thought that if a fairy’s existence is tied to their spawning human believing in them, then surely their lifespan is similar to that of a human. After all, can’t really believe in fairies if you’re dead. But apparently Queen Clarion is 400 years old. Which brings up a few possibilities.

1. She’s the oldest and straight up lying because nobody can prove her wrong.

2. The elder fairies have spawned from children who believed and now have immortal/extended lifespans elsewhere, eg Peter Pan.

3. The children that spawned them died still believing in fairies, so now there’s never any disbelief to end their existence.

And I’m not sure which version seems more plausible here.
