incantation - @wolfstarmicrofic - 241
"So," James whispered, standing next to Sirius as they both waved their wands just how Flitwick had shown them, "when are you gonna tell Moony?"
"Tell Moony what?" Sirius responded, trying not to look too suspicious as he practiced the incantation in his head.
"That you're gone for him," James answered casually, smirking as he began to mumble Expecto Patronum, only to achieve white smoke.
"Wh-what?" Sirius stuttered, turning to James, who looked smug.
"You were staring at him the whole lecture. You doodle moons in your notes. Your Amortentia smells like chocolate, for fuck's sake," James chided, furrowing his eyebrows as he only conjured smoke again. "It's bloody obvious to everyone except Moony himself, Pads."
"You're barking," Sirius denied, rolling his eyes. But it was Remus who he was picturing as he focused himself on the spell. Remus, whose eyes were the perfect shade of brown. Remus, whose smile always made Sirius feel so safe, and a bit floaty. "Expecto Patronum," he murmured, his heart leaping when a corporeal animal jumped from the tip of his wand.
But James let out of a shout of laughter when they saw what it was: a giant, silvery wolf, short snout and tufted tail making him distinct in every way. "Yeah, Pads? Wanna tell me again what you said a second ago?"
And, blushing crimson, Sirius stared at Patronus-Moony, unable to deny his feelings, knowing that his own spell had sold him out.

hi!! can you write fluff about reader being scared of thunderstorm and sirius is comforting her??
thank you for requesting!! ♡ requests are open
sirius black x fem!reader, modern au + fluff
you cling to sirius tighter in bed as if that's possible.
the room is a bit cold with the rain outside, sirius got one more blanket for you before you fall asleep but he's the warmest still. your head is on his neck, his nose is buried in your hair to smell your shampoo. his bare arms are around you to pull you closer. he kisses your hair in his sleep.
raindrops hit the window cruelly, it's louder when there's no other noise. you are on the edge of falling into a deep slumber, but you can still hear the noises. your leg finds its way under the blankets to stay in between sirius's legs, you press your ear to the pillow.
a brightness fills the dark room, lightning and then a noise of thunder. you flinch as if you've been woken up by someone throwing water on your face, your eyes wide open. another loud noise strucks the room and you lean to your elbow, your arm hits sirius without meaning to.
sirius blinks his eyes open, his hair is a mess as he lifts his head. he doesn't understand what happens until another light covers the room, he reaches for your hand blindly.
"baby." he whispers. "it's okay. it's- let me turn on the lights."
you sit on the bed as he leaves. he turns on the lights and rubs his eyes, he tries to fix his hair but it never works so he gives up. you look up to him, pushing the blankets off. "sorry, siri." you say. "i didn't mean to wake you."
"nonsense, babe." he shrugs. he knows you'll not be able to sleep through the storm. you are already wide awake as if you didn't fall asleep. you hate the sound of the storm, how it feels like everything falls apart outside. it's a scary thing to see the light first and wait for the loud noise of the thunder.
sirius comes back to your side, he tucks a piece of hair behind your ear and rubs your cheek with his thumb. he is staying close in case you want him to hold you, his mind is slowly waking up. he gives you a smile, there's nothing to worry about.
"i think," he starts. "it's the perfect hour to drink a cup of tea, what do you say?"
"if you insist." you say, smirking just like he does. he distracts you and you let him.
"i can even carry you to kitchen." he offers but you know he's bluffing. "wanna be my princess?"
"thank you, but i prefer walking." you kiss his cheek as you leave the bed. he holds your hand on the way to kitchen, his steps are slow and unstable. he yawns, still not awake enough. you kiss his naked shoulder as a way of apologising to wake him up.
"up you go." sirius lifts you to sit on the kitchen counter. he turns on the lights before he puts some water into the kettle.
"thank you." you say, waiting for the water to boil. "you have work tomorrow, you won't get enough sleep."
sirius leans in to put his head on your shoulder. you hug his shoulders, his body between your legs as you stroke his messed up hair. he kisses you until it tickles your skin. you laugh, pulling his head gently to see his face.
"i can function just fine with less sleep, babe, you know i've gone to work countless times after we hang out."
a loud thunder mixes with the noise of kettle and you flinch. sirius holds your waist, his eyes are bright as he looks at you. a kiss on your nose, then on your jawline. "it's okay."
"i can't help it."
"i know." sirius squeezes the softness of your thighs, rubs the skin with comforting circles. the kettle stops. sirius brings two tea bags without lifting his hand from your leg. you help him take two mugs from the cupboard and he prepares teas with his one free hand.
"wanna stay here?" he asks. "or go the couch? or the bed? or-"
"we can go to bed." you smile.
sirius carries the mugs as you settle down on bed. it's not as warm as it was before, you move your legs under blanket. he puts the steaming mugs on his nightstand and wraps his arms around you.
the rain doesn't seem like it'll stop until the morning, sirius checks the weather forecast on his phone. he tightens his hold on you, brushes kisses on your hair. he hands you your mug as he takes a sip from his.
"careful, sweetness." he says, the tea is still so hot.
"i won't burn you, sirius." you say, chuckling.
"okay, maybe stop laughing with the hot tea in your hand."
"no, come on." you say, he puts both of your cups back to their places.
"hm, i don't trust you." he says, he buries his face to your neck, his fingers pressing to your waist. he tickles you until you squirm under him, laughing as if your life depends on it. he tires you out, you are breathless when he stops. the sounds of thunderstorm become faint with your laughs, sirius plays with you for minutes.
"okay." you say, your cheeks are blushing so hard. "okay, stop! i'll sleep, promise-"
"i'll sleep." you say. "just stop tickling."
"yeah?" he asks, smirking devilishly. "you'll sleep?"
"it was a pleasure to engage nightly activities with you, sweetling." he winks. "come on, you really should sleep now."
sirius quickly turns the lights off. you feel really tired, you snuggle against his body to get comfy.
"i think the storm is less loud now." you say. "is it?"
"yes, and it'll probably stop entirely in a few hours." sirius replies. "but if you feel uncomfortable, wake me up. don't try to get through the night by yourself."
"okay." you say, kissing him thanks.
"good night, baby." he says. the tea goes cold on his nightstand.

Prompt 30 - Breakup
@wolfstarmicrofic May 30, word count 352
“Enough, Remus! I’m done with the secrets and the lies.” Sirius shook the tears from his eyes. “I’m done.” He grabbed his leather jacket and stormed out of their flat.
He knew they had to keep secrets. It was Dumbledore’s orders. But Remus literally never told him anything but lies these days. This had been the final straw. Frank Longbottom had seen him hanging out in a muggle bar with a group of known werewolves. Sirius had asked him about it, and it had not gone well. He replayed the conversation in his head.
“So where have you been all day then?” He asked as he peeled the carrots for dinner.
“Guard duty, you know how it is, totally boring. I’m glad I took my book with me.” He slurred slightly as he opened the fridge, looking for another beer.
“You smell like a brewery,” Sirius bit back. Remus paused.
“Well, yeah, Frank and I went for a pint when our shift was done,” Remus answered as he cracked open the beer.
“Frank had a meeting with Moody all afternoon,” Sirius said blankly. Remus blanched. “I actually met up with Frank earlier,” Sirius put the knife down, not trusting himself to chop while he confronted Remus. “So, where were you?”
“Dumbledore’s orders, can’t tell you.” Remus snarled at the look on Sirius’s face. That was the moment that Sirius knew something was wrong. They’d always trusted each other, always. Remus hanging out with other werewolves was one thing, but not trusting Sirius enough to tell him was something else. He couldn’t take it anymore. It was killing him.
He apparated to the Potter’s. He’d go back and get his stuff when Remus next left the flat. He knocked on the pretty red door and waited. As soon as James appeared, bathed in the soft glow from within, he broke down.
“We broke up,” He sobbed in his best friend's arms. James gathered him up and took him inside. He wrapped him in Sirius’s favourite fluffy blanket and sat down with him on the sofa, holding Sirius while his heart shattered into pieces.

I’m newer to the Harry Potter fandom in general, I just recently watched the movies for the first time and I’m almost done with the books.
I was so sad to almost be done with the story, only to find out that the fans have done more for the HP universe than Terf Rowling, while also making it inclusive and diverse??? Ya’ll have expanded it so much. Anyone of any identity in the fandom can go onto tumblr and find themselves majorly represented…I feel my screen time going up already.
There are so many corners of this fandom too, you can literally find, but also ignore, any ship/trope/character/etc. you want. And you can mix and match–I can find fics that use Gary and David as Sirius and Remus but also feature a Desi James??
Also the fact that there is a whole ass ship/fandom JUST for my two favorite characters?? (my legal guardians, sirius and remus). I’m never leaving.

Veritaserum
@struttingstag
May 24 prompt: veritaserum | Jegulus | 1811 words
CW: mention of past suicide attempt
James was feeling good. It was the last night before the Winter Holidays and naturally, the Gryffindors were throwing a party in Gryffindor Tower. He even convinced Regulus and the rest of his friend group to come to it, which made James smile even more than he did when he usually saw his boyfriend. The drinks were flowing and the music was blaring in all corners of the tower.
James was feeling bold since he was more than a little tipsy. Most everyone in Gryffindor knew about him and Regulus but they were still careful most of the time since you never knew who was going to show up at the party and Regulus was still in Slytherin, much to James' and Sirius' dismay. They would have rather he'd just stay in their dorm where they knew it was safe.
Regulus told James that he could take care of himself and James knew that but he still worried about him. It had gotten better though since they first started dating. When they first started, Regulus was still living with his parents and they ran the risk of anybody in Slytherin ratting them out if they weren't careful. James looked over at Regulus who was standing next to the drinks table with Barty and Evan. He knew he shouldn't but James couldn't help himself.
He walked over to the table, took Regulus' drink out of his hand, and handed it to Barty before dragging him to the dancefloor's centre. Regulus grumbled a little but let James do as he pleased nonetheless. James didn't know how long they had been dancing but Regulus had his head on James' chest as he wrapped his arms around his neck and played with the curls that hung down. That was until Sirius shouted and they both snapped their heads up to look in his direction.
"Alright, losers!" Sirius exclaimed as he stood up on the table. "Now that the younger years have gone to bed. It's time for the real fun to begin."
"What are you talking about?" Regulus scoffed before he buried his head in James' chest again.
"I'm so glad you asked, baby brother," Sirius announced with a bow and James could practically feel Regulus roll his eyes. "We're playing Truth or Dare but with Veritaserum because I know that some of you fuckers are fucking great liars and I want to know all the dirty, little secrets you've been hiding."
To say that Sirius was drunk was an understatement, especially since Remus was trying to pull him off the table and Sirius kept swatting him away. James had no problem with Truth or Dare. He just didn't know how deep the questions would go with how drunk Sirius and most of the others were at the moment, so he was just a tad bit worried. Not that he really had any secrets to tell anyway.
"I'm in!" Marlene shouted and that was all it took.
Everybody else in their little groups grumbled with their acceptance or agreed eagerly if they were Barty. They moved the table and chairs out of the way to make more room for everyone to sit in a giant circle, considering there were twelve of them between the Gryffindors and the Slytherins. Regulus practically sat in James' lap and James wrapped his arms around him instinctively.
"Okay, who's going first?" Sirius asked as he plopped down next to Remus and started to pour the shots of Veritaserum, passing them out as he went.
"Why don't you since you're the one who suggested to game," Mary replied with a small laugh.
"Alright," Sirius said with a shrug, "but who to ask first?"
He tapped his chin contemplatively before his eyes shot straight to his brother. James wasn't surprised.
"Reggie!"
"Of course he picks me," Regulus grumbled under his breath before he glared at his brother. "What?"
"Truth or Dare?"
Regulus sighed before he shocked everyone in the circle. "Dare."
"Umm, okay," Sirius faltered, clearly expecting him to pick truth. "I dare you to kiss the hottest person in the circle..." Regulus started to turn towards James because that was a given before Sirius continued, "that is not James."
Regulus glared at him again before he scowled and looked around the room. James was curious about who he would pick. It looked like Barty was expecting him to pick him but no, Regulus got out of James' lap and beelined it towards somebody else. They seemed shocked as well and Sirius jumped up to protest before Regulus turned on him.
"It was your dare," Regulus replied with a smirk before turning back and crashing his lips together with Remus'.
"That's not- that's-," Sirius threw his hands up in the air before he dropped back down to the ground and James had to cover his laugh with a cough as everybody else snickered with no shame.
Regulus walked back over to James with a satisfied smirk, kissing him on the lips right after. James smiled and wrapped his arms around him again.
"Okay, my turn. "Remus, truth or dare?"
It went like that for the next few rounds. Most picked dare and had to do silly little things that they honestly probably would have done anyway. But then it was Sirius' turn again and he looked straight at James. James sighed because he had a feeling he knew what was coming.
"Ja- ames," Sirius said in a sing-song tone.
"Yeah?"
"Truth or dare?"
"Dare, obviously." It really was the only possible answer.
"Okay, I dare you to pick truth."
Well, fuck.
"Umm, okay," James replied slowly as he tried to gauge what Sirius was playing at. "Truth, then."
James picked up the shot and downed the potion before he gestured for Sirius to ask his question. Sirius beamed at him before he spoke again and James wasn't sure how he felt about that. It seemed mischievous and like he was looking for something specific that James had never told him or that he thought James had never told him. Which honestly wasn't a lot, James would usually tell him everything and everybody knew that so he shouldn't have been surprised when all their eyes landed on him.
"What is one secret that you have never told anybody?" Sirius asked with an eager grin as he leaned closer to him.
James pursed his lips together. He had to ask that, didn't he because there was only one thing in his whole life that he never told anybody about and he never had any intention of telling anybody about for that matter. He was starting to sweat as he fought the potion and the words that were trying to tumble out of his mouth. Regulus was looking at him with concern now and James didn't want him to know. He didn't want anybody to know.
"Oh, come on. It can't be that bad," Marlene laughed.
James snapped his eyes up at her and glared. She just laughed some more as she held her hands up in mock surrender and fell back into Dorcas.
"It's okay, Jamie. Whatever it is. Nobody will judge you for it," Regulus whispered soothingly but all James could think was, 'You will.'
"Out with it," Sirius encouraged. "You can't fight the potion anyway so you're only hurting yourself more by trying."
James sighed before he looked down at his hands wrapped around his boyfriend.
"I tried to kill myself the summer after third year," he whispered just under his breath.
He never told his parents what he did either. It truly was a secret that he had intended on taking to his grave. James felt Regulus tense up in his lap. He was sure he was the only one who heard him since he was so close.
"What?" Sirius asked with a laugh. "Couldn't quite hear you."
James squeezed his eyes shut to stop the tears from forming. Everyone was laughing except for Regulus. After a minute or two, other people started to egg him on to repeat what he just said and since he was still under the effects of the potion he couldn't stop the hurt or anger that came out when he repeated it.
"I fucking tried to kill myself the summer after third year. Happy?" James shouted before he dislodged Regulus from his lap and stormed off towards the stairs to his dorm.
The room became deadly silent but all he wanted to do was get away from everybody. He made it to the top of the stairs before he heard Regulus yell at his brother.
"You're a fucking dick, Sirius. I'd suggest you don't go anywhere near him for a while. I can't believe you just fucking did that."
James heard the footsteps coming up the stairs and he was sure that it was Regulus but he shut the door anyway and made his way to the bathroom. James sat against the wall with his head between his knees and tried not to cry but he couldn't hold back the tears even if he was imperio'd to.
"Oh, baby. Come here," Regulus said softly as he grabbed James by the shoulder and pulled him into his lap.
James went willingly. He wanted to be alone but then again he didn't and if he had to be around somebody right now, he was grateful that it was Regulus. He really really didn't want to see Sirius. James let the tears fall as he sobbed into his boyfriend's chest. Regulus ran one hand in soothing circles around his back as he ran the fingers of his other through James' hair.
"It's okay, Jamie. I promise it's going to be okay," Regulus whispered.
James sobbed louder and Regulus seemed to put up a silencing charm which James was grateful for. He hated it when anybody heard him cry. He was supposed to be the happy-go-lucky sunshine friend after all. Although now that his secret was out, he wouldn't be surprised if people started to keep their distance from him for a while.
"Please, don't leave me," James whispered wetly. It was a little muffled since he had his face in Regulus' chest.
"I'm here for you, baby. I'll always be here for you," Regulus replied firmly. "And if you want to talk about it or anything, I'll be here for you then too. I'm not going anywhere, Mon Soliel."
James didn't say anything else. He just clung to Regulus like his life depended on it and cried until he couldn't cry anymore. He was sure he would pass out at some point but he didn't care. He was tired and wanted nothing more than to forget about everything that just happened.
"I love you, James. I always will."
It was the last thing James heard before he let himself let go and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.

(slightly) poorly timed confession - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 159
"D'you ever have dreams about me?" Sirius asked, his thoughtful voice as vague as his expression, which was glazed over from the heat and incense seeping through the room.
James, flipping through the Divination text to define the meaning of their dreams, paused. "I dreamt we all got a detention for turning Slughorn into an actual slug once. Does that count?"
"Nah, just..." Sirius drifted off, but then his gaze snapped back to James's. "You never dream of me? Or- or Moony? Or Pete?"
"Not in detail," James answered uncomfortably, shifting on the cushion he was sitting on. "Why?"
The other boy paused. "What d'you suppose it means that I dream about Remus? Like...a lot?" he questioned softly, his face tinging a bit pink. "Like sometimes, we're k-"
But James, who had seen this coming for a while, just chuckled, closing the book in his hands, and interrupted by saying, "Nothing you can find in this stupid book, mate."

Blind date
@wolfstarmicrofic | Word count: 215
"So... how was the date, mate?" James asked eagerly as soon as he saw Sirius, raising his eyebrows with curiosity. He had been insisting that Sirius try a blind date for a change, and it had been...
"Amazing," Sirius replied honestly, unable to suppress the huge smile spreading across his face. "He was... the most gorgeous man I've ever seen. You know how much I hate Greek mythology, but he loved it. And you know what? For the first time in my life, it sounded like the most interesting thing in the world. He loves books, and—"
"Wait," James interrupted, a confused expression on his face. "You said 'he'?"
Sirius frowned. "Yes... what's wrong with that?"
James's eyes widened. "The blind date I arranged for you... it was with a girl."
It was Sirius's turn to look surprised. He had been so enchanted by the beautiful stranger that he hadn't even checked his phone all night. He pulled it out of his pocket and froze as he read the message from hours ago:
"I am so sorry! I don't think I will make it in time for our date. Do you think we could reschedule?"
He stood there, trying to make sense of it. Who the hell had Sirius gone on a date with then?

Prompt 31 - Second Chances
@wolfstarmicrofic May 31, word count 996
Second part to Prompt 30 - Breakup
His body was shaking from head to toe. Sirius was gone. Sirius had left him all because Dumbledore had forbidden him from telling him about what his true purpose in the Order was.
“ARGH!!!!!” He screamed into the empty flat as tears began to stream down his face. He’d had enough of this, he wasn’t going to lose the love of his life to keep the secrets of a dotty old man.
He stormed out of the flat and apparated to the gates of Hogwarts. The walk-up to the castle took so much longer than Remus remembered. Dumbledore was waiting for him at the castle's entrance.
“Good evening Remus,” The headmaster asked calmly.
“We need to talk,” Remus tried to say evenly, but it came out sharper than he meant.
“This way, Mr Lupin,” Dumbledore turned and led him into the school. Dumbledore led him into the great hall and into a small room off to the side. “What can I do for you?” Dumbledore asked.
Remus stole himself, he wasn’t going to lose Sirius.
“I need to tell Sirius,”
“No,” Dumbledore said bluntly.
“It’s not a discussion, Albus. I am telling him.” He spat back.
“Why now?” The headmaster asked curiously.
“He left me because you made me lie to him, and he knew I was lying.” He looked Dumbledore dead in the eyes. “I refuse to lose him because of you,”
He was surprised when Dumbledore nodded in agreement.
“He will need to make an unbreakable vow,” Dumbledore told him. Remus felt a small drop of hope form within him.
“Yes, Sir. Thank you." He turned and almost ran out the door.
“Oh, Remus, before you go,” Remus looked back at the headmaster’s serious face. “Sirius is the only one you may tell and only if you fully trust him. Remember there is a spy amongst us.”
“It’s not him,” Remus snarled. It wasn’t the first time he’d heard that. “It’s not him,” He said again firmly, as he sped through the doors before Dumbledore could say anything else. That had been far too easy, but Remus didn’t have time to figure out what the old wizard was up to, he had a relationship to save.
***
He arrived outside the Potter’s house. It was the only place Sirius would go. He took a deep breath and knocked on the door. James answered.
“Remus!” James choked out. “Er, I don’t think this is the best time.”
“Let me in, James,” Remus ordered. James exhaled a long breath and dragged his hand through his hair, making it stick up on end. He moved aside and let Remus in.
Sirius was curled up on the sofa with Lily’s arms wrapped around him and a cup of tea in his hands. Lily turned first, her eyes widening when she saw him.
“Sirius,” His voice was croaky as it filled with emotion. He cleared it. “Sirius, please, can we talk? I need to tell you why.” He waited and waited, praying that Sirius would give him a second chance. Sirius slowly turned his head. The skin around his eyes was puffy and red. He must have been crying all night. “Please,” He whispered. He could see all the hurt on Sirius’s face, but he nodded and Remus let out a breath he hadn’t realised he’d been holding.
“It’s okay, Lily.” Sirius patted her leg. Lily turned on Remus as Sirius unwrapped himself from the blanket.
“If you hurt him again you’ll have me to answer to,” She warned. Remus wasn’t prepared to cross Lily Potter. He may be a werewolf, but she was scarier than he’d ever been if she thought her loved ones were in trouble.
“Can we go back to the flat?” Remus suggested. Sirius looked at James and, after having a silent conversation, Sirius looked back at Remus and nodded.
Sirius walked out of the house after hugging Lily and James. Remus followed.
Back at the flat, Sirius stared at him with his arms folded across his chest. He didn’t look angry, he looked unsure.
“Sirius,” Remus moved to touch him, but Sirius flinched away from him. Remus swallowed. “Sirius, I’m going to tell you everything. Dumbledore has given me permission, but there’s one condition before I do.”
“What?” Sirius finally spoke to him.
“Dumbledore has demanded that we perform an unbreakable vow.” Anger flashed across Sirius’s face.
“Because you don’t trust me?!” He wasn’t quite shouting but it was close.
“Sirius, if it was my choice I would have told you every day what I’ve done. I’d tell you every little detail, but he won’t let me.” He looked at Sirius, begging him to agree. “Please, Sirius, please. I love you, I can’t lose you. Please, Sirius.” Tears were dripping down his face again.
“Okay, Remus, I’ll do it.” Sirius sighed.
“Thank you,”
They performed the vow at Hogwarts with Dumbledore as the witness. Sirius had been warned by Dumbledore what this meant and that he could not tell anyone about what Remus did, or he would put him in danger. Sirius agreed to everything.
They watched as the thin flames licked over their linked hands as the vow settled into their skin.
When it was over, Remus took Sirius home and told him everything. He told him about the research. He told Sirius about the wolf packs that he’d integrated himself into, to try and get them to stay neutral or even fight for their side. Sirius sat in silence as Remus unloaded all the secrets he’d been dying to tell Sirius for over a year.
“It must have been killing you to keep all those secrets, Moony,” Sirius said quietly after Remus had finished talking. He cupped Remus’s face in his hands. “You’re not alone anymore, Remus. I’ll help you shoulder this burden.” Sirius leaned in and kissed him, their tears mixing on their faces as their kiss deepened. Remus felt nothing but relief and love for the man in front of him.
