Naruto Fanfiction | Life Without Kurama, Chapter 11
Tumblr media
Arguably one of my strongest chapters in this fanfiction, I give you Chapter 11 - Anchor Point! This point in the story was one of the main reasons I was so excited to cover the earlier arcs. I went through all of that just to get here.
Oh, what have we here? Inoichi Yamanaka himself! What are he and Sasuke cooperating on, and perhaps more importantly, why?!
Only one way to get your answer! ;-)

I've been havin' dreams
Jumpin' on a trampoline
Flippin' in the air
I never land, just float there
As I'm lookin' up
Suddenly the sky erupts
Flames alight the trees, spread to fallin' leaves
Now they're right upon me
You ever get haunted by a visual? Because I’m always thinking about Iruka during the Kurama incident.
#kurama#kyubi#iruka umino#(yes iruka is the tiny figure in the middle)#naruto#mine#my art#< this tag is never gonna be useful to me but anyway#this is like. the second time in my life that i post something i drew on the internet#i'm very much Not an artist i just have trouble focusing in class#and instead i draw on the preview app bc idk it helps#ANYWAY i just get a lot of emotions thinking about how iruka lived that night and remembers it#and like. i'm a little fascinated about the 'little boy vs beast of legends wrecking his home' of it all#like iruka is TEN. he's never seen the war and he only knows it through what his parents tell him. or other shinobi. or kids at school#and he's not a genius either so he probably has a quite sheltered life#and in just one night his entire world changes and suddenly War and Danger and Death become very real concepts#obviously it would be traumatizing for anybody but there's such subtlety in the way he remembers it and the ptsd associated with it#the focus on the fox's eye. the way he re-experiences the scenes.#everything is sooo. i can't explain it but it's so imprinted in my mind#anyway i'm sorry about the lame song choice (which i can't listen to without thinking about this) and i'm sorry about the lame drawing#please don't look at the number of teeth too closely.#please don't look at ANYTHING too closely kgfhjfghk#i don't even know why i'm sharing this i guess i like the concept itself#also i really really really love kurama's aesthetic

Revelations
Tumblr media
Synopsis: It's no secret Kurama's soft on you. But when his demon form finally sees the light after hundreds of years, the fact only further cements itself.
It's surreal to think just a few weeks ago you were an ordinary high school student. A few weeks ago you had been completely oblivious to your best friend’s secret life. A few weeks ago, he'd been walking you home like he'd always done.
Talking about everything and nothing at the same time. Visiting his mother in the hospital before you took off to your job at some ramen place to earn a few extra bucks. A simple life it was.
Uneventful but peaceful.
Now here you were in some stuffy hotel, cheering on said best friend as he fought in a tournament. A demon tournament, if you may add. Where death was always a possibility and he and his friends were constantly fighting for their lives. One of which was the boyfriend of your boss’s daughter. And thank goodness she was or else you probably never would have known what was going on with Shuichi.
You never would have had a clue as to why he was suddenly absent from your life. Where he suddenly vanished to when the day before, he'd talked about having a ‘study date.’ How, now that his mother was better, it'd be nice to have a proper dinner between the three of you. Talks of the future, like you'd wake up and he'd be right there.
Turns out it was all a lie.
That first day you'd checked everywhere for him. It wasn't until you went to work that you met up with Keiko. Who was also suspicious of her boyfriend’s absence. The two men in question had seemingly vanished over night. And in your search for answers, you'd come across the sister of another guy who went missing.
Three in one day was no coincidence.
The common denominator? A blue haired woman who was apparently a grim reaper. A few threats from Shizuru had her spilling everything. How Shuichi, sweet dorky Shuichi, was a demon. And a prolific one at that. How all three of the boys, plus another demon, were forced to fight in this tournament. Or else they'd die along with everyone they cared about.
It made sense why they'd all left in the middle of night without a word. Why he left you without saying anything. You understood the circumstances, and you didn't hold it against him. You couldn't hold that against him. But… But you two told each other everything. Or at least you thought you did.
Which leads you to where you are now. Sitting anxiously across from Kurama the night before the semi finals. He'd already had one close call with death. You didn't think you could take it if he had another.
Kurama didn't like you being here as it was. Going as far as to scold you after his first match for following him. Seeing you cry after his fight with Touya didn't help your case either. You figured his concern was purely out of obligation. Not wanting to be responsible if you somehow got hurt.
Oblivious to the warm gazes directed at you when you weren't looking. The way he searched for you in the stands before every match. How he always offered you his hand when you'd go out. You were probably the only person he let get close enough to tend to his wounds.
It wasn't like he ever hid his soft spot for you. If anyone took the time to analyze his actions, it was easy to tell he cared quite a lot about you. More than a friend should.
“You're awfully quiet.” He spoke, snapping you from your thoughts.
“I'm just…” You didn't know how exactly to explain what you were feeling. To put your overwhelmed senses into words.
Truth was you were terrified. Terrified for Shuichi and terrified for his friends. You were terrified of waking up tomorrow and him not coming back to you.
“Worried.” you settled on.
He gave a thoughtful hum before scooting closer to you. You could feel the warmth radiating off of his skin. The sweet smell of roses accompanying it. Your relationship with the redhead had always been touchy. Never shying away from affection towards one another. So you hardly minded when he moved to cup your cheek. Guiding your gaze to meet his.
“We'll win. Just one more match until we're in the finals.”
So sure, he sounded so sure that you couldn't help but believe him. Emerald eyes filled with determination. You used to joke that he was hypnotizing you with them. So pretty that you couldn't focus on anything else except him. The theory seemed more plausible now that you knew he wasn't exactly human.
“And then we can go home,” he promised.
But you still had your doubts.
“Yeah? Yusuke and the ‘masked fighter’ still aren't back. And the enemies just keep getting stronger.”
The hurdles just keep getting bigger, and you didn't think the four of them could keep up anymore. Too much had been thrown at them.
“Can you really win like this?”
You could see the conflict brewing behind his eyes. Try as he might, Kurama could never hide his emotions from you. You knew the answer before he said it.
“We have to.” Careful, always so careful with his choice of words. Not promising you a for sure victory, but reaffirming what you already knew. You knew what he wanted to say…But you also knew he couldn't admit it. Not to you and not to himself.
The real answer- He doesn’t know.
“Tomorrow's a big day, let's get some rest.”
A sign the conversation had drawn to a close. You weren't in the mood to push anyways. So you followed him to his room. The both of you slipping into the same bed, with Shuichi's arms wrapping tightly around you. Most likely the last time he'd ever get to hold you.
—-----------------------------
Tomorrow came far too soon. There was still no sign of Yusuke and the masked fighter, meaning the team would be at a complete disadvantage. If you had any semblance of martial arts training, you would have volunteered to take one of their places. Though truthfully you knew you wouldn't have been able to put up much of a fight.
You slipped into your own room to get ready, mentally preparing yourself for the day. Surprisingly, there was no one in the lobby waiting. You couldn't help but wonder where the girls were. Usually all of you went to the arena together. For safety purposes, of course. Perhaps they'd already made their way there? They didn't seem like the type to get up early, but maybe just this once they'd made the effort.
Apparently you were dead wrong.
You'd searched everywhere in the stands, testing your luck and even asking a few demons if they'd seen them. No luck. You were completely on your own. It didn't help that this new stadium was 10 times bigger than the old one. No one would even notice if something happened to you here.
You really only had two two options before the match started. You could stay here, surrounded by bloodthirsty demons who were starting to eye you with drool. Or you could go down to where Shuichi and his friends were, right in front of all the action and potentially get hurt.
It was a no brainer what you’d choose. Besides, he'd never let you get hurt on his watch. And you trusted the other two with your safety when it would be his turn to fight. You didn't think they would be cruel enough to leave you wide open for injury. Or at least, Kuwabara would do his best. He'd proven he had the most humanity during this tournament.
Yeah, you were much safer near the actual fights than you were surrounded by demons. Begrudgingly, you made your way down. Dodging a few swipes directed at you before jumping over the railing. Your actions quickly catching the attention of Koto, the cat announcer.
“And who is that making their way over to Team Urameshi! Could this be their alternate fighter? Or perhaps one of their lovers~”
You cursed her for drawing attention directly towards you. Already feeling all eyes on you as you approached.
“What are you doing here?” Kurama questioned. The other two looked expectantly at you for your answer.
“I have no idea where the girls are. And I don't think it's a good idea for me to be up in that stadium by myself.”
He gave a hum, about to usher you closer to him when someone beat him to the punch.
“Well I'll protect ya, so don't worry!” Kuwabara assured. Pulling you close by your shoulders in a way that had you laughing. Unawares of the subtle way Kurama's eyes had narrowed.
“Thank you. That's very sweet.”
“Don't mention it. Nothing gets past me, so I'll let you know when to duck and cover.”
“If that's the case, they're better off in the stadium,” Hiei commented.
“What did you say, shrimp!” Kuwabara released you to get in his face. The two of them continuing to bicker while you laughed.
Your gaze caught Shuichi's and you offered an amused grin.
“Your friends seem fun. Can't believe you didn't introduce me to them sooner.”
“They’re not exactly the type you bring up in passing. And I doubt you would've believed I was associated with them,” he answered, though there was some mirth in his eyes that let you know he was teasing.
“Excuse me, I'd like to get back to the semi-finals now,” Juri, the fish announcer this time, interrupted.
It once again reminded you just where you were. What could happen if any of Kurama and his friends slipped up. You shouldn't be joking around causing a distraction. Not when lives were at stake. His life. Your anxieties only worsened when the first round begun.
Sure Hiei had managed to beat his opponent in under five minutes. But the brief second he'd disappeared made your heart stop. Unconsciously moving yourself closer to Kurama.
The second match was much worse. The burly man in front of Hiei using his sword to cut his own arm. Explaining how once his body had been exposed to a specific pain, it wouldn't affect him the next time he was hurt. It was only a matter of time before the smaller demon ran out of options. With his sword broken and his spirit energy depleted, he took a gamble.
The conclusion of the fight had felt so sudden. So brutal. Kuro Momotaro had seemingly won, his teeth piercing into Hiei's shoulder. The aftermath was a fountain of blood spraying out.
You’d flinched away at the sight, trying your best to shut out the triumphant cheers of the stadium. Only for them to go quiet as Hiei shoved the body off of him. The shape shifting demon now in pieces on the floor. Hiei was okay. And as he continued to antagonize Kuwabara, you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.
It was easier to stomach the fights when you were with the girls. People who weren't desensitized to the carnage around them. Nobody had batted an eye down here. They all seemed used to it. Only further reminding you just how feeble and weak you were in their presence.
Hell, Hiei was practically begging for a round three despite his condition. The dice were brought out again, and you were praying to whatever God was up there it wouldn't land on Shuichi's name. You knew it wasn't fair. He needed to fight at some point. Judging by the determined expression on his face, he wanted to. But you didn't have a good feeling about this. You didn't want him to leave your side towards his potential death.
Please don't let it be him.
“Now fighting for Team Urameshi, Kurama. and for team Uraotogi, Uraurashima.”
Fuck.
You stood shakily next to Hiei and Kuwabara as Kurama stepped into the area. His opponent a young boy with a fishing pole. At least he looked easy to beat. It gave you momentary relief before both of them drew their weapons. Uraurashima’s fishing line clashing with Kurama's Rose Whip. Equally bouncing off of each other with no indication of one overpowering the other.
“They're evenly matched? Or is he not fighting for real?” You asked.
Hiei gave a bark of laughter at your observation.
“So you do know him well. Kurama's just fooling around. It's an obnoxious habit. He never creates his own strategy until he fully understands his opponent's.”
You were gonna strangle Shuichi when he was done fighting.
“Nice to know he over analyzes everything.”
You watched as they continued to have a stalemate. Though something had changed in Shuichi's expression. It was somber. Like he was contemplating something. Now was not the time for him to get distracted.
He let up on his assault along with his opponent. And right when he moved to haphazardly strike, Uraurashima dodged. Wrapping Kurama in his fishing line and pulling as hard as he could. Slicing into his skin.
You couldn't stop yourself from screaming out his name. Kuwabara instinctively pulling you behind him.
“Don't look, okay?”
Don't look? How could you not look. That was your best friend up there. No matter how badly you wanted to turn away, you couldn't. Looking on in horror as Uraurashima approached him. Surely Kurama had some other trick up his sleeve to protect himself?
But his eyes told you a different story. Frustration and anger. You don't think you've ever seen him mad before. He staggered on his feet, only for the onslaught to continue. It looked hopeless as he fled.
Your eyes widening with tears once he was cornered. There was nowhere to run. A forcefield in effect prevented him from doing so. His opponent presenting a box of some kind and opening it. Purple smoke poured out as he explained how it worked.
It would de-age Kurama. Turn him into a child where he couldn't defend himself. A cowards move. Only when the entire arena had been filled with smoke did your tears fall.
You were powerless to do anything. You couldn't help him even if you wanted to. Designated to nothing but a bystander in his fate. Your worst fear coming true.
It was silent for a moment. Complete silence as the Idun box worked its magic. Then all at once lightning struck. No, not lighting… it was a spike of spirit energy.
Your body shook as it tried to process the power around it. The force was almost strangling.
“Do you feel that, too?” Kuwabara asked before looking back at you. He visibly panicked seeing you struggle to breathe.
“Hiei! We need some help over here!”
The three eyed demon spared you a glance, giving an irritated huff as he pulled you towards him.
“Stand close to me. I should've known someone as weak as you wouldn't be able to withstand this much. Your body isn't used to this much spiritual pressure.”
He created a small barrier of his own energy around you. You took a few greedy gasps of air. Relieved to be able to breathe again. You offered a weak ‘Thanks.’ Still worried about what exactly was happening.
This power…Could it really have been Shuichi's? Or was it something else entirely? Was he even still alive?
“Where's all that weird energy coming from?” Kuwabara questioned.
Hiei only seemed to beam with pride.
“It's all Kurama. Down to the last drop.” He responded.
You wanted to start crying again. Your emotions all over the place. He was okay in there after all. Maybe he'd be able to find a way to win.
“But it feels different somehow, and a heck of a lot more powerful,” Kuwabara pointed out.
“That fool he's been fighting has turned him back into his demon form. Before he was tainted by you humans.” Hiei explained.
That caught your attention. A part of you defensive at his words.
“Tainted? It's not like we made him stay.” Like you'd ruined him with your presence.
“No, not directly. That doesn't change the fact you made him weaker. Soft.”
You wanted to question him about what he meant, but the sound of something crashing through the barrier stopped you. All at once the smoke started pouring out. The forcefield itself was destroyed. In a matter of seconds the arena was clear.
In its wake was a red demon with its neck pierced by a sword. Further away was….No. That couldn't be.
“Shuichi?”
You regretted calling out to him as soon as his name left your lips. The silver haired demon’s head snapped towards you. The pair of ears on his head seemed to twitch at your voice.
He was different, so very different from the man you knew. His demeanor felt cold. You briefly remembered what he used to be: a fox. If the ears and tail didn't already give it away. Wild and unpredictable. If your friend was in there, it sure didn't look like it.
You trembled at the intensity from his gaze. He made a gesture with his hand, as if reaching out before you felt the ground give way. You could feel yourself fall back, landing on something soft. You hardly processed yourself moving up until you were about ten feet off the ground. You realized then what you were on top of. A type of giant leaf was carrying you.
What the hell was going on? What was gonna happen to you?
You felt the leaf shift forward, and that was when you decided to call for help. For the one person who would probably know what to do.
"Hiei, help me!” You tried to reach down, but he backed away.
You let out a scream this time as the leaf rushed forward. Kuwabara tried to reach for you, but he was stopped by the three eyed demon.
“What gives!?!? Why aren't you helping them!?!”
“Fool. Don't interfere or you'll wind up dead.”
You couldn't hear them as you were pulled towards the other side of the area. Vaguely aware of Koto’s comments.
“Now this just took an interesting turn! The mystery fighter has taken interest in the human on the field! Is he perhaps looking for his next meal?”
You were at the edge of the arena shaking. It only worsened as who you assumed to be Yoko made his way towards you. Taking slow and meticulous steps. Like a predator stalking it's cornered prey.
Why you?
Why did it have to be you?
Why did you have to go and open your big fat mouth?
Maybe he wasn't satisfied with his previous fight. Wanting to take out whatever pent up aggression he had on you. A human who just so happened to be on the field. His expression hadn't changed once since he set his sights on you. Maybe he really was planning on eating you. It's not like it was against the rules.
He was halfway to you now. You could barely hear over the sound of your heartbeat in your ears.
“We'd really like to move on to the next match now, if you don't mind,” Juri said, now back to normal.
“Quiet.”
One word was all it took to have her trembling.
“Or not! Take your time.”
His voice sounded gruff. Harsher than any tone you'd heard him use. You knew Shuichi, or rather Kurama. The boy who used to give you flowers everyday after school until he got teased for it. The boy who loved his mother more than anything. The boy who you'd never known to like senseless violence. You knew he would never hurt you. Never dream of hurting you. But this…This was not him.
A quarter of the way there.
And then he was right in front of you.
This was Yoko. An infamous demon who’d committed heinous crimes. Far too many to count. Who could kill you with no more than a swipe of his hand. And he probably would. Sharp claws on the end of each fingertip. More than enough to finish you off.
You trembled on top of the giant leaf as his gaze pierced through you. His eyes didn't hold the same warmth as Shuichi's. The familiar emerald green replaced by a faded gold. They were cold. The color so light it held nothing but ice. You continued to shake in front of him. Hoping to catch a glimpse of your best friend.
“Do you fear me, sweetling?” He spoke at last.
Your words were stuck in your throat. Unable to answer him. Fearing what would happen if you didn't.
His hand started to extend out towards you. You'd flinched and closed your eyes at the sudden movement. Expecting the worst. This was it. He was gonna slash your throat. You braced yourself for the inevitable pain…but it never came.
Instead, he'd cupped your cheek. His thumb swiping away a stray tear. An action reminiscent of Shuichi. Your Shuichi.
“You shouldn't. Open your eyes and look at me.”
You could feel your trembling ease up. Was this a game? If it was, should you play along? You didn't know what to think at the moment. If you should relax in his presence or run. But there was something about the way he was cradling your face. It was gentle. So against your better judgment, you opened your eyes. Taking a deep breath as he guided your face up.
You looked into his golden irises in search of your best friend. They weren't as cold this time. Flecks of the emerald you were used to. The softness he looked at you with had returned. Or maybe it had never really left. Your shaking had stopped completely.
“Shuichi?” you called out once more. And this time he'd smiled at you. Somehow managing to get closer into your space. But you couldn't say you minded much. Your relationship had always been touchy.
“We are one in the same. Though it's a shame he hasn't staked his claim on you yet. I will not forgo the opportunity should we meet again.”
Your face scrunched in confusion at his words. Temporary moving out of his grasp.
“What do mean stake his claim?”
His expression turned amused at your question.
“Isn't it obvious? You're ours. Our precious little mate. Shuichi is hesitant to act on his feelings. But I am not.”
You felt the leaf shift down. Letting Yoko once again cup your face. This time guiding you to bump your forehead against his.
“I am yours devotedly until the end of time.”
You could feel your face burning with embarrassment. This whole time he'd liked you. Even in his purest form he was in love with you. Why had you been so scared of losing him?
Because you'd loved him too.
“Do my ears deceive me!?!? He's actually flirting with the human!?!? Well there goes my weekend.”
But this wasn't the place for that. He couldn't be distracted by you here. There was too much at stake. Maybe when this whole tournament was over, you could properly explore these feelings.
He was leaning closer to you.
Would you turn him away if he kissed you now?
You decided the tournament committee could shove it as his lips brushed over yours.
But before they could press down fully, a heavy fog engulfed him. He'd backed away from you. The silhouette of a fox appearing for a brief second. Then it vanished, into a ray of light with one last thing to say.
“Until we meet again, sweetling.”
The light had been so blinding, you had no choice but to look away. When the dust had settled, in front of you was a familiar redhead. His tail and ears completely gone. He'd retained his previous injuries. But other than that, he was fine. He stood in front of you with an unreadable expression.
“Are you kidding me!?!? After all that we didn't even get a proper kiss!!!! Where's the entertainment in that!?!”
All at once his face went red. He was almost never flustered. Then again, his feelings were just aired out to the entire stadium. Your relationship was aired out. You knew he was a private person, so this must've felt humiliating. The cooing from the audience sure as hell didn't help.
He scooped you off of the giant leaf without a word. Surprising you with how easily he picked you up. Clutching you close to him as he made his way off the arena. His face was burning, matching your expression.
“My apologies.” he said quietly.
You could do nothing but put your head between his neck and shoulder. Wanting to hide yourself from everyone's prying eyes.
“It's okay. I didn't mind. I mean, at first you scared me. But once I saw it was really you..” you trailed off.
There was a brief silence before Shuichi spoke again.
“You reciprocated Yoko’s advancements.”
“I reciprocated your advancements.” Because they were one in the same. Although it was a little amusing to see him get jealous of himself.
“I would've let you kiss me too.” you added.
He'd finally reached the end of the area and jumped down with you still in his arms.
“I plan making good on that promise once we finish up here.”

Me writing this: There's no need for exposition, you can just get to the main plot!"
Also me: THE ROMANCE NEEDS TO BE BELIEVABLE 😫😫😫
Also- WHY DID I MAKE THIS SO LONG 😭

love your writing. youre awesome. you don't have to but if if you could could you make yuyu hakusho characters x reader who's into cute dresses, make up, skin and haircare routines, stuffed animals collections and girly things. would they be accepting of her, find her annoying, join her or what do you think? plz
Yu Yu Hakusho ~With a very feminine reader~
Manga/anime: Yu Yu Hakusho
Warnings: nothing
(Y/N): your name
Thank you very much for the compliment! I personally didn't know which characters you meant exactly, so I created the headcanon with the main 4 and Koenma. If you also want someone else, write to me privately and I'll include them.
U. Yusuke
He thinks you're very adorable, but he'll never join you in hair and skin care
However, he really enjoys putting on your makeup, even if he often messes up your face
When you come back from the hairdresser with your hair cut or from the beautician with your nails done, he's always playing dumb that doesn't notice anything; however, after seeing you were offended, he compliments you ("I noticed it, (Y/N). You look great.")
Whenever he can, he buys you cute stuffed animals or accessories, such as necklaces and bracelets or rubber bands and hair clips
He also gives you nice clothes if he can buy them for you, and, if you wear them, he'll blush deeply and turn his head away so you can't see his huge blush
K. Kazuma
He's probably the person who accepts you the most
Are you wearing a nice outfit? "You're so cute, (Y/N)!" Have you groomed or cut your hair? "You look great, darling!" Did you wear makeup? "You're so gorgeous! You look great without makeup, but you're beautiful even like that!"
He goes to the game room a lot of times to win stuffed animals for you; when he wins nothing, he sulks all day ("Sorry, I won nothing..." "Kazuma, you don't have to give me a stuffed animal a day, don't worry!")
You two often do skin care together, but don't tell Yusuke this or he'll make fun of Kazuma for life
To give you gifts, he often asks Keiko for advice, as he considers his sister to be one of the least feminine women in existence (Shizuru always gets angry when he points this out to her)
Kurama
He finds it very cute you always get dressed up, but he often tells you you're beautiful, even without accessories or luxurious clothes
He always, always notices when you do something different to your hair, nails or face ("Have you done anything to your hair/nails/face? You're very beautiful, (Y/N).")
Probably, you two do hair care together: you're the only person wh's allowed to care for his hair
When you wear cute clothes, he blushes slightly and looks at you affectionately and meanwhile Youko stirs inside him
He sometimes lets you find cute stuffed animals or accessories on your bed, and then he pretends he didn't put them there ("That? No, I didn't give it to you.")
Hiei
He doesn't understand you: he can't understand why you care yourself so much, and he refuses to join you if you ask him this
Despite this, one day, after seeing his sister getting her hair done by Kazuma (Hiei wanted to kill him), he decided he would do the same to you: so, he combs your hair every morning
For a while, he never gave you accessories or stuffed animals, since he thought they were useless; however, everything changed when, one day, he gave you a hair clip he had found during a mission, and he saw your happiness born from that small gesture
"I found it lying around and I thought only a person like you could wear that horror."
This is what he says every time he gives you something to wear, but it's clear he does it because he loves seeing you smile and seeing you with what he steals buys
Koenma
Like Kazuma, he also compliments you when you change your appearance, changing your hairstyle or wearing different and nice clothes every time
You two do skin treatment together: he always claims your hands have the power to make his skin soft ("Only (Y/N) can touch my face! Only she has magic hands!")
He gives you everything you want: have you seen a nice hairpin? You'll find it in your room. Have you expressed your desire for a dress? It'll be yours immediately
He forces his subordinates to have their hair or make-up done whenever you want poor Jorge
When he can (once a day), he gives you a stuffed animal

roleswap! after being buffered and polished with the help of my loving spouse i started to daydream about the potential. so here's the base synopsis! (warning, lots of text below!)
ivy, punch enthusiast and foreign girl living in japan, becomes spirit detective after the entity within her revives her & draws the attention of Rekai. koenma, the reaper who was meant to collect her soul upon her untimely death, and botan, the ruler in charge of dishing out ordeals for these strange events, agree to the girl's terms that in exchange for her services as their errand runner they will give her the answers and resources she & her parasite need to jog his lost memories of what he is and where he comes from.
along the way she meets and recruits a number of odd characters; yukina, the exiled koorime who utilizes her cold calculations and frigid beauty to disarm her opponents & obtained the surgery needed for the Jagan Eye in order to keep tabs on her twin brother, Hiei, who remained behind in their homeland safe and sound so long as she stays away.
youko kurama, a kitsune who fled to Ningenkai after being mortally wounded and was discovered by a young mother-to-be with a veterinary degree. her nurturing heart & patience with the demon canine she brought into her home led the demon, now knocked down several ranks in power, to pledge to protect her and her baby from harm. years later when she falls sick, he's approached by a cunning ice maiden who asks him to join her heist on Reikai's artifact vaults to save the life of the human he's indebted to. tomoe higurashi who, up until recently has been minding her own business as a middle-schooler, is ivy's adopted sister and unaware spiritual radar of the group. with a father who has extraordinary awareness of the paranormal and a mother without a scrap of it, tomoe's taste for mysteries has ended her up in hot water on a number of occasions until her big sister reluctantly took her on as a sidekick. she's got an attitude on her, but cares a lot about the team and looks up to each of them as role models (though ivy insists she REALLY do not look up to the demons of the group because despite what they insist, murder is not ok)
and last but not least is yusuke! a seemingly ordinary boy who's doing his damndest to get through mundane life without causing too much of a stir, he stumbles his way into the supernatural world that his classmate ivy lives in one day when he happens upon her during a case, the demon she's pursuing stopping dead in it's tracks before going into a frenzy. as it turns out, yusuke is the descendant of a war god, and his blood triggers a flight or fight response in the apparitions he meets. so, naturally, ivy takes him under her wing and shows him the ropes of how to survive in a world where you're constantly being threatened.

thinking about how when hiei kurama and kuwabara were trying to bust out of itsuki's interdimensional monster guy and kurama was like ok. itsuki we're going to torture you until you let us out. so we can fight sensui 4-v-1 kuwabara was so desperate to save yusuke that he was fine with both of these plans that he otherwise would have found so dishonorable he woulda died to avoid them. but not if it's for yusuke. and when sensui kills him anyway kuwabara's also fine with 3-v-1 if it means he gets to avenge yusuke, even if it means humanity basically gets wiped out because of it. kurama and hiei are the same, but it's kuwabara who most consistently risks his life by clinging to his honor code, and here is probably the one time he breaks it. bc he can't lose yusuke again. if he doesn't even know who he is without yusuke then how is he supposed to be the same guy with the stupid honor code? like that matters now. he can't be the bigger man if he's barely even a person without him. jeeeezzzzz

Hi nice blog 🖤
ask: how do you see kurama react if he realized he had feelings for someone? would he be in denial? would he react right away or let it rest for a bit? would he be shocked or not surprised at all? would he fall for someone who is just his type or someone completely different than his past partners? your choice ofc
thank you for considering my ask 🖤
hello there! this is my very first time writing for anyone relating to yuyu hakusho and i'm not even halfway finished with the series yet so please understand that the characterization will not be 100% correct so .. :P thank you for requesting!
KURAMA: REACTION TO HAVING A CRUSH.
notes: reader is gender neutral, kurama can be either his usual series self or aged up, besides a few hints it really doesn't matter honestly just know this is purely sfw, kurama may be ooc but if you leave hate comments or anything passive aggressive the comment will be deleted.
tw: none honestly.
Tumblr media
------
when he realizes he has a crush, he kind of just.. realizes, he's not like hiei who would denounce any and all feelings or kuwabara who would put his pride to the side to go on to ask them out, he kind of just finds out that he has a bit of interest in them, giving it time and thought and comes to the conclusion that "yep, i have a crush on them."
has kurama had a crush before? does kurama have past lovers? well, no to both questions, he never really gave the idea much thought and hasn't found any humans that interest him in that regard, sure, some people are attractive, but when this specific person came.. it kind of awakens something in him.
and as for type, he doesn't exactly have one, he's not the "all humans look the same" because he knows full well they don't, but, he most likely prefers someone who is a bit on the feminine side.
kurama has never really been one for love at first sight, getting to know someone more then seeing if they're for them or not is much better... he kind of doesn't understand why humans would want to jump straight into relationships without at least getting to know each other first.
it'll take some time for him to actually take any action, he kind of wants to get closer with them the natural human way, he's not exactly new to human interaction, and hasn't had many experiences where he's been called a creep or anything, so, befriending them would be a great start, therefore he'll get to know them better.
once he befriends his s/o and finds out why he likes them so much, he gets a bit impatient, he doesn't want to take things to the next level right now, but he'll still pull through and wait until the time is ready.
eventually months pass, and kurama is ready to confess, this can go two ways.
if they accept; kurama is very happy, asking them for a kiss before they pull them into an embrace, he finally got what he wanted and life is good.
if they reject; kurama is very understanding, though disappointed, he'll still want to remain friends, especially since he had shared some pretty good memories with them.

Naruto and Sakura are so babies to me BECAUSE they are fucked up off-putting little menaces.
They're the same and it's so funny how they can't recognize it. There's literally no reason for it, there is no connection between them except that they are both protagonists so the story went "Listen, I'm gonna make a pair that is sooooo ridiculously enjoyable to watch because they are sooo weird."
They listen to voices in their head?? Canonically? Both of them were bullied as kids for not being like the rest?? Naruto has freaking whiskers and Sakura pink hair!!! They are so bright and colored it's like a joke to know they want to be ninjas!!!!!!!! They are impossibly loud and bitchy, always up to beat anyone including kids and old people, don't hold back when it's time for mean comments or rejecting people they find ugly or weird, share a total of zero braincells between them sometimes, refuse to see themselves as being less than other people—
I genuinely laugh so hard with them. Remember that time after Kaguya got sealed when Naruto and Sakura panicked over how they'd go back to the real world? They had just saved the world and somehow still had time for their silly antics.
Their summons are (let me check ...) MULTIPLE frogs and a giant snail that can divide into many little versions of herself. They got those summons from their mentors, who happened to be an old man perverted to no one famously known for his erotica writing and a woman known by all for her alcoholic tendencies and being a giant loser that refuses to stop gambling.
You need more convincing? Okay.
Naruto and Sakura are a little perverted as teens and spend 70% of the manga crying. They are so lame in some of their speeches, epic losers from the very beginning because they were the dead last shinobi and kunoichi of their class. When they face a problem, their solution is "I'll beat it up with my own hands". Them in Naruto classic? For sure the stupidest duo around.
Half (or more) of their plans are the worst plans ever and the rest miraculously work so well you have to admit they were cool. They are obsessive and short tempered and even when they are the strongest shinobi and kunoichi duo around, you can't trust they will complete the mission without making it worse first.
... I correct it, they will make it worse first.
On the other hand, you have to win their respect, because they sure as hell won't give it to you out of the goodness of their hearts. They are the best representation of the Will of Fire of the younger generation. No one ever thought Naruto would befriend Kurama like he did, no one ever counted on Sakura becoming a world renowned medic nin, no one thought they would reach that far. They're naive to a fault and they don't fit the shinobi life at all and if they weren't the protagonists, they'd be the first to die or something, but they are the mcs and they are absurd as they come.
I love them sooooo much for all they are and all they are not.

In your take two au Kurama joins Naruto in his new life so does that mean after so many years of being Naruto's partner, being so close to Naruto that the question of where his soul ends and Naruto begins is unknown, Kurama choose to simply fade away with his best friend and partner? That despite being a Bijuu and being immortal Kurama did not want to live without his best friend?
Immortality was in Kurama's very nature.
The promise of eternity was gifted to him and his siblings from the moment they'd been pulled into being.
A blessing or a burden to most.
But to them?
To Kurama and those of his ilk?
It simply was.
When That Man had come with his broken eyes and his shattered rage, when the Uzumaki had stood firm with her seals and her disdain, eternity had been the promise that had kept Kurama going.
Because, one day, when there were no more prisons to be found, no weak fleshy bodies capable of holding all that Kurama is and was and would always be captive, Kurama would still exist.
Freedom was always just a matter of time.
But then ,,,
The boy.
Uzumaki Naruto.
So alike and yet so different from his foremothers.
Alike and yet so different from the one Kurama might once have called Father.
Kurama had hated him at first, had hated him as he had hated Mito and Kushina and every grasping, greedy, human who had come before and between them both.
Had hated him more in many ways for the seal that bound them together.
And yet ,,,
The hatred did not last.
Could not last.
Naruto would not allow it.
And, eventually, Kurama found himself no longer interested in pretending to resist.
Love had followed shortly afterward.
Kurama had seen his boy through battle after battle, first out of necessity and then out of devotion.
Had gone to war for and with Naruto for a people and a way of life he had once sworn to hate.
And with every wound, with every moment of joy or sorrow, Kurama found himself drawn ever closer to Naruto.
Their very beings twined together at the base in a way that went beyond the seals.
Kurama had even loved Naruto enough to allow his mating to the Uchiha brat. To allow him to bind his life and blood to a member of That Man's cursed Clan.
Kurama watched him build a family. A family that Naruto never once allowed Kurama to pretend he wasn't a part of.
~~~
Somewhere along the way, the idea of eternity stopped being a comfort to Kurama.
Because what good was eternity if Naruto would not be there to walk it with him?
~~~
So of course when the time came, when it became apparent that the Shinigami did not know Naruto or his Uchiha's name in the way it did most others, Kurama rejoiced.
Because what had once been a prison had long since become his home.
So even as the other jinchuriki faded and Kurama's siblings found themselves in new hosts, Kurama stayed with Naruto.
Stayed with his boy.
Gladly.
Through the long years, through decades spent ruling and then decades more spent wandering, they stayed together.
And then ,,,
And then the day Kurama had once dreaded so fiercely finally came to pass.
Naruto, with his too old soul in his too young body, came to him with an offer.
Came to him for permission.
Naruto came to Kurama with his freedom once more in hand and the desire for rest sitting heavy on his shoulders.
And Kurama ,,,
Kurama hadn't even needed to think about it before he had chosen.
~~~
What was eternity without love?
Why would Kurama ever want to carry that burden?
~~~
When Naruto and Sasuke lay their bloody seals, when they settle Uzushio and then themselves into their final sleep, Kurama lays down with them.
He has been with Naruto since before his boy drew his first breath.
There is nowhere he could ever go that Kurama would not want to follow.

Never forget that if Hinata, the alleged "side character" (in the eyes of certain stans), wasn't there to cheer up Naruto before his fight against Neji, he would've continued to have low self-confidence and be in an uncharacteristically low mood, and he would've lost the match. Naruto would never have been publicly acknowledged by Konoha for the very first time in his life. [Chapters 98-105]
Never forget that if Hinata, the alleged "side character", wasn't there to try and fight against Pain, Naruto would never have met Minato and learned more about his backstory, Pain would've killed everyone in Konoha, and then Pain would've extracted Kurama and killed Naruto. Naruto would never have been publicly acknowledged by everyone in the world for the very first time in his life. [Chapters 437-450]
Never forget that if Hinata, the alleged "side character", wasn't there to slap some sense into Naruto after her own cousin just died trying to save them, or if Hinata herself was the one who died instead of Neji, Naruto would've lost the will to live, and he would've given up and joined Obito and Madara. Naruto would never have reconciled with Sasuke for good, won the war and saved the world, and be publicly acknowledged by everyone in the world as a hero for the rest of his life. [Chapters 614-616, 699]
Naruto would be either dead or he would've turned evil if Hinata, the alleged "side character", wasn't there for him. If Hinata was either never a part of Naruto's life, or if she died during any of those aforementioned pivotal moments, Naruto would never have become the person he is today. If Hinata was never there to save him with either her words or her actions, Naruto would never have achieved his lifelong dream of being publicly acknowledged by everyone.
Hell, we even saw what happened the one time Hinata did stop being in Naruto's life (temporarily): he lost the will to live, he gave up on his high-rank mission, and he wanted to let the world crash and burn and die along with it.
Interesting how Naruto realized that he could not live without Hinata, the alleged "side character." Interesting how Hinata, the alleged "side character", was irreplaceable and essential to Naruto. Interesting how Hinata, the alleged "side character", ended up being the most important and most precious person to Naruto. 🧐
I swear, Luna, it's almost like Hinata, the alleged "side character", is actually the real heroine, the true heroine, of the story. 🤔
Oh wait, that's right, Kishimoto himself said in 2010 that Hinata is more of a heroine instead of a certain someone else. And then in 2017, Kishimoto himself said that a certain someone else was used solely as a shipping tool thrown in the middle of Naruto/Hinata and was always planned to lose in that love triangle, a certain someone else was actually a side character like Kiba and Shikamaru, and a certain someone else was actually not a special female character after all.
What are the odds? 🙃
Excuse me while I sip this tea full of salty tears. 💁🏻‍♀️

Just Friends
Tumblr media
An: Dropping this one before I watch the first episode of the live action today!!!!! Hope y'all enjoy.
"You're an idiot, you know that?" You chastised the red headed demon as you plucked another vine from his arm. Making sure to go over the injury with alcohol before wrapping it.
"Is that so?"
You met his amused expression with a glare. How this man could be so unfazed by a literal plant growing out of him, you'd never know. How he still found the energy to be cheeky was a mystery as well.
Although you knew it wasn't entirely his fault he was this injured. That damn tournament committee was partial to blame. Sabotaging Urameshi and his friends for no other reason than them being human. Betting money was another factor. Still, if Kurama hadn't been so cocky with the first demon, he wouldn't have been through hell after.
"Absolutely. You should've never fought twice in a row. Now look at you." You gestured towards the many open wounds on his chest.
"You're covered in blood. You're so damn lucky I'm studying to be a doctor." You dabbed more alcohol than you should've on a cotton ball before cleaning the scratches on his face.
A feeling of smugness when he let out a slight hiss.
"It hurts? Good. Maybe next time you'll learn to be more careful."
It was quite the sight to see. Kurama sitting obediently while you tended to his wounds. Letting you scold him without much complaint or push back. Kurama, a demon who'd lived hundreds of years with unfathomable knowledge, allowed you to call him stupid.
The most independent and arguably the most reserved, getting chewed out by a mere human.
It was funny, too. How he seemed to subtly lean into your touch. Closing his eyes while you wiped his face and releasing a content sigh when you finished. As if he were being pampered.
"You know I got injured pretty badly too. Maybe you should come clean my injuries." Yusuke called out. Though it was mostly meant to tease the fox demon.
You turned to face him at the same time Kurama's gaze hardened. A warning look directed at the spirit detective. But he could tell it wasn't really needed as you dismissed his offer.
"What am I the team doctor? I can't do all that 'magic power' stuff to heal what you've got going on." You gestured to the various brusing littered across Yusuke's body.
"You're best bet is Yukina."
"But you've got a delicate touch."
At his flirty tone you shot up from the bed and proceeded to chase him.
"I'll show you delicate!"
Kurama watched you go with a disappointed look. Missing your warmth besides him. Although he wasn't too happy with you being here, he couldn't deny being glad to have your familiar presence near him.
He had wanted to keep you far away from this. From his past that unfortunately intertwined with his present. Trying his best not to expose you to what he really was. A small part of him was still angry at Botan for bringing you here. But then again, she'd brought a prominent figure in each of his friends' lives as well. So he wasn't the only one dealing with this. He'd rather it be you than his mother wondering where he was.
Still, you were human. And a troublesome one at that. It was surprising you hadn't gotten in a brawl with a demon yet. Especially ones that were openly cheering for his demise.
You'd always been a bit protective of him. Having met as children when you defended him from being bullied for his fiery hair and oddly green eyes. Yelling and biting at the other kids until they left. Only to turn around and tell him he was gonna be your best friend from now on.
Something he thought was odd at the time. A human telling him what to do? Then again, he wasn't all that different from you in his new body. And he needed to be able to keep up appearances until he fully regained his powers. So he accepted and let you drag him where you pleased. He let you ramble about everything and nothing at the same time. He let you comfort him when his mother fell ill.
He grew to love having you in his life. Your lectures about how he shouldn't let others taunt him, even if he was fully capable of protecting himself. Though of course you didn't know that. He admired your ambition to enter the medical field so you could help the people who needed it. He looked forward to seeing your soft side that you'd only show to him after a long day.
You'd made him feel human.
Which is why he tried so hard to hide everything about his previous life from you. If you found out you'd most likely be scared or put in even more danger.
And he just couldn't risk losing you either way.
He tried cutting ties with you once, but you were a stubborn one. After what happened with Maya, he thought it was best you kept out of his life. Going as far as avoiding you. To which you responded by confronting him.
"If you don't want to be friends anymore, just tell me. Give me a straight answer instead of acting like a coward."
He was close to telling you he didn't want you around anymore, but the way you looked at him, with so much hurt and betrayal...He just couldn't find it in himself to let you go. Instead he asked you why. Why you didn't find him strange like the rest of your classmates. Why you spent so much time with him. Why it bothered you so much that he was ignoring you.
"Is that really what's bothering you? The answer should be obvious to a brainiac like you. You're important to me, Shuichi."
He realized then that you were important to him, too.
So he allowed himself to keep you around. He deserved that much for everything he's been through. Just so long as you were a part of his human life and not his demon one.
But fate had a funny way of playing things out. He should've known he couldn't keep this part of his life a secret from you forever. He just didn't expect it so suddenly.
Hearing your voice above the others shouting at him from the stands. He thought he might've been imagining it at first, but then he caught a glimpse of you from over the other demon's shoulder. The one that had threatened his mother's life with a push of a button.
He could see that you were nervous. Frustrated would have been a better word. As if you were mad he was letting himself get hurt.
You'd called him an idiot then too, after he won. Jumping down from the stadium and rushing over. Unfazed by the bloodthirsty creatures around you.
"You're such a dumbass. Making a big show out of nothing and letting that guy cut up your face. Let me see how bad it is." You scolded as you grabbed his chin and moved his head around. Inspecting the fresh slashes on his cheek.
"You're here?" He asked, still processing the fact that you were right in front of him. That somehow you managed to find your way back to him.
"Yes??? I don't think he hit you hard enough to have a concussion."
Kurama had to step away from you. All of a sudden overwhelmed because there was no way you were inspecting his injury right now. There was no way you were still treating him like nothing happened. Like he didn't just kill someone right in front of you.
"Why?" It was the only thing he could think to ask. Rendered speechless for the first time in forever.
"Why what?"
"Why are you here? How much do you know?"
How much did that troublesome reaper tell you?
"I'm here because my stupid best friend decided to get himself into trouble without telling me. Did you really think I wouldn't worry about you being gone for weeks? That I wouldn't get suspicious?" You used the sleeve of your shirt to wipe the blood off his face.
"I didn't want you involved." Came his answer. He still didn't know how much you knew. If now was the time to be completely transparent.
"Then you shouldn't have agreed to be my friend. To be honest, I'm a little hurt you didn't even bother to tell me. Let me guess, you thought I would freak out if you told me you were a demon?"
Ah, so you knew everything. Which meant so did the rest of the girls with you. He wanted to be upset at Botan's lack of ability to keep secrets, but he couldn't have been any more relieved.
"You know me almost as good as myself. Though it's surprising you're taking this so well." He allowed himself to relax in your presence. To let you continue inspecting his minor injuries.
"You really think I would care after all we've been through? For someone who's supposedly hundreds of years old, you sure are an idiot Shuichi."
"Shuichi..." He didn't know why his name sounded so foreign coming from you. Maybe a part of him expected you to call him 'Kurama' now that you knew the truth. Or perhaps he just wasn't used to hearing it when he wasn't trying to keep up appearances.
"Yeah? Do you want me to use your tough guy demon name instead? Don't wanna be embarrassed in front of your friends?" Your tone was teasing. And while he would have loved to hear his true name come from your lips, he couldn't deny liking the idea of only you having the privilege to call him Shuichi.
"No. I like it when you use my human name instead. Whatever feels natural for you."
"Alright, but you better promise not to keep any more secrets from me."
He was still cautious with you around, but it was more for your safety than anything. Though he should've been more careful with himself, too. It'd only be more stressful to you the worse he got injured. Still he couldn't promise you that he'd come out completely unscathed.
"You let that human walk all over you like the detective with his woman."
The sound of Hiei's voice brought him back to the present. Hearing the amusement that came with it at Kurama's show of obedience with you. The way he let you get after him for being careless.
"True they have a rather loud mouth, but it comes from a good place. I don't mind all that much, not when they've gone out of their way to mend my injuries. Or would you rather I go to Yukina instead?" A small jest that was made to get the three eyed demon off his back.
But Hiei knew what he was doing and wouldn't be taking the bait this time. Not when he knew he had the upper hand in this conversation.
"You'd give me the opportunity to steal your precious mate while you were distracted?" And judging by Kurama's small glare, he was right.
"... We're just friends." It sounded like he was trying to convince himself. And in a sense he was. He'd never really thought of you in that light. At least, not until recently.
"Hmm." A unimpressed noise before you stumbled in.
Smiling triumphantly after having just tousled with Yusuke and an unfortunate Kuwabara who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. The grin wiped off your face seeing Kurama up and about.
"Hey! Did I say you could get up and walk?!? You've lost way too much blood to be moving around! Get your ass back to bed right now!"
"I heal at a much faster rate, remember. I should be just fine." He tried to diffuse, but you weren't having it.
"You're not getting out of this one fox boy. Go lie down or so help me Shuichi, I'll knock you out myself!"
Again you'd used his human name. Who you knew him as. And despite your crude words, he could feel his heart skip a few beats.
Friends made each other's hearts beat a little faster, right?
They sometimes shared kisses with each other during a moment of celebration.
And sometimes, maybe sometimes they thought about what life would be like to wake up next to the other every morning.
"Stay with me and I won't move a muscle."

Unpopular Opinions
(Don't like? Pass it)
(Please, don't take them too serious 😁)
Percy Jackson:
. Annabeth only got close to Percy at the beginning because she was expecting him to be the chosen one. She wanted to go on a mission to prover herself to her mother. If Percy wasn't the "big hero" or didn't have any special powers, maybe it would take a long time for her to really fall for him.
. Clarisse and Percy had chemistry in all their scenes. If they didn't have partners when they were matured, they wouldn't be a bad ship. Both could learn with their mistakes and balance each other.
. The ship Solangelo only happened because Nico was rejected by Percy since he is not officially gay or something like that and he was in love with Annabeth. Different from Percy, Nico got the better option in the end that was Will. People comment that Will can be a little controlling sometimes, but if it is for Nico's health, I don't see a problem. Will can be a good influence for the dark and introvert boy.
. Rachel could be a better girlfriend for Percy than Annabeth. She was always a nice person and would let Percy talk about his problems and try to give him some good advices instead of laughing of everything he says or does. She wouldn't make fun of him to other people, but would only compliment Percy to his friends. If they had any problem or something, she would try to talk with him alone. She wouldn't want him to risk anything for her. She just would want to help him to become a better person and do what is right, even if she would be scared for his life. She could balance his life too. Whenever the demigod life takes too much from Percy, she would be there for him.
Naruto:
. Naruto is more weak without Kurama. His strongest powers always had some help from the demon inside of him, be it his strength, his body resistance or many other things.
. Naruto can be worst than Goku because he is more mature and knew he had a thing for Sakura. He cared about Hinata, but never noticed her. The only reason Naruhina happened was because of Sakura's help and Hinata's memories. He only "suffered" for some days, Hinata suffered for years...since she was a child. Even after Hinata confessed to him, he confirmed to his father that Sakura was his girlfriend.
. Hinata and Sasuke could be a good couple or good friends if they had any development at all. They almost never talked to each other, but their lifes were kinda similar in some aspects. They would be able to understand the other better. The "two moons" could balance each other. Hinata with her kindness and Sasuke, with his fierceness and dark side.
. Sakura with Naruto and Sasuke are better as friends. Even though Sakura made some mistakes in the past, she matured. But Sasuke tried to kill her and I don't think they balance each other, neither she with Naruto...
. Hinata should have ended up with Kiba. He really was the one who was always there for her and noticed everything about Hinata...her emotions and her actions. He really cared about Hinata. He always tried to stay close to the girl. He liked Hinata only for who she was. He may even know everything about her, more things than Naruto. He didn't read her memories about her good actions, different from Naruto who got with Hinata because she was kind and did many things for him. If Naruhina happened without the memories, it would take a long time for them to be together. The only thing Naruto is really good...is being a great friend. Only that! The rest...is the rest. I feel bad for Hinata...from all his family members, the person Naruto puts less efforts is Hinata, but I think Sakura got the worst...
. Hinata is too soft for her own good. She continues running after a man for years even though he didn't love her. He could be dating her and thinking about Sakura that she still would be okay with him. It is so easy to take advantage of her.
. Team 7 can be very powerful, but it is the most toxic one. The members are always fighting or trying to kill each other. The least toxic is the one from Boruto.
. I consider team 8 as the least toxic or more healthy one. They respect and take care of each other. They are pretty cute. Obvious Hinata is from the team. At least she got the better one. She didn't lose anything by not staying with Naruto. She literally had everything better. Naruto doesn't deserve her anyway...
Dragon Ball:
. Goku can be better than Vegeta in many things, except as a husband. Any time he can, he is always with his friends or fighting. He doesn't know that much about love. The goku from Dragon Ball Z was a little more matured, now...he got too much dense...again. At least Vegeta demonstrates loyalty towards his wife. But I can't really blame Goku 100% since he hit his head as a baby.
High School Musical:
. A matured Sharpay and a matured Troy could work out in the future. I don't think Troy and Gabriella's relationship lasts that long. I really think that Troy is one of the few people who isn't really afraid to disagree with Sharpay. Both have history since childhood and made some mistakes in the past, but they can overcome them and try to be better people.
Descendants:
. Ben and Evie would be a better couple than Mal and Ben. Both had more chemistry and they would have the healthiest relationship in the entire saga.
. Mal was the real villain. She ended up fulfilling her mother's wishes. They would be for " good" this time, but she kinda was pressioned too by her friends. Mal was selfish and arrogant. She only thought about her wishes and desires. She never really wanted to be a better person. As long as she had dominance over something, it was good for her. Some people commented that she used to bully Uma and her friends as a kid and never apologized for her mistakes. She shows more remorse than regrets. She manipulated and lied and did many other bad things too. She is not that different from her mother, her dark side is just more hidden.
Harry Potter:
. Many villains may have come from the Slytherin and many heroes from Gryffindor, "the heroes" are no better than the "villains". They like to mess with the Slytherin house and don't care who they hurt. For them, everyone in Slytherin is bad and should be exiled from earth to make the world a better place. They have so much prejudice against the Slytherin that makes me mad. Nobody was born a villain, people get turned into one. Their horrible past contribute for that, especially traumas, bullyings and other things. The characters from Gryffyindor suck. They think they are better than anyone else...they even can be worst than Slytherin house.

I've briefly talked about this on my other blog once before, but people REALLY seem to miss the point of the false love confession Sakura gives Naruto. Like, the fact that moment CONTINUES to fly over people's heads makes me feel mad.
Now, is this me saying it was totally justified? No. I believe it would have been better if Sakura just told Naruto the truth, but it's not like her intentions were evil in that moment. First of all, people seem to like to downplay of the part that Sai played in all of this. Sai, a member of team seven who has been conditioned to not feel any sort of emotion in Danzo's anbu and is still learning how to express his feelings. Someone who still doesn't understand the bond that the previous team 7 had. Now, this isn't me hating on Sai, I love Sai. But the fact is that he guilt-tripped Sakura into making that confession in the first place by comparing her to the curse mark on his tongue. He confronted her at literally the worst times. The village just barely managed to survive Pain's attack, Tsunade is in a coma, and Danzo has been appointed Hokage and has put a hit on Sasuke's head. And lets not forget Shikamaru literally telling her that if they don't take matters into their own hands, a war could break out between the leaf and the cloud. Sakura is getting hit from all sides without a moment to breathe.
The mere idea that she was hurting Naruto destroyed her. She's already witnessed the state he was in after he'd transformed into part of Kurama in the fight with Orochimaru. Not to mention that she tried to lie about how she got the marks on her arm because she didn't want him to feel guilty. But no. Apparently she doesn't care about Naruto at all. The only reason she felt that telling Naruto that she loves him would be the only way to stop him is because Sai has convinced her that that's the only reason he's continuing to chase after Sasuke. But that's not it at all, and I feel like that's also a fact that ends up going over people's heads. It was never about the promise. Even if Sakura hadn't made that request to him, Naruto would be fighting tooth and nail to get Sasuke back. Because he cares about him too. Sasuke was one of the people that made Naruto feel like life was worth living. Hell, he keep saying that he couldn't become Hokage until he'd saved him and brought him home. If anything, he was more selfish when it came to Sasuke. But that can be a discussion for another time. The fact of the matter is that Sakura isn't some evil bitch that tried to manipulate Naruto. Sure, her actions were a little misguided, but she had good intention. She couldn't bare the idea of Naruto hurting/dying because of her, and was willing to take his hatred if that meant she could keep him safe.

Didn't kurama and yusuke lose half of their lifespan by using the darkness mirror to save kurama's mom?
That was never stated. Yusuke did offer to share a little of his life so the mirror wouldn't have to take Kurama's entire life.
Tumblr media
But, the mirror never actually confirmed it took half of their lifespans. In the anime, it just granted the wish without taking any lives.
Tumblr media
In the manga, the mirror was just completely surprised by Yusuke's absurd idea. If all wishers were like him, it wouldn't have been called the "Mirror of Darkness".
Tumblr media
The wiki fandom says "For the English manga and Japanese versions, the mirror only took half of the life-force from both Yusuke and Kurama to fulfill the wish by splitting the difference". I don't know about the English version, but the Japanese version (anime and manga) never mentioned that. You may interpret that way, though.
There has been some debate in the japanese community about that. I like the anime version, the mirror was taken by surprise by Yusuke's offer that it granted the wish without sucking their lives.
In the end, the mirror broke ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
