Me and my best friend visited The Vatican this summer. We went in and there was this hall with its doors closed and locked. We were peaking inside because it was completely void of tourists but had massive statues lining the walls. All of the sudden a security guard approached us and I thought he was going to tell us we couldn’t look in, instead he unlocked the door for us and we entered. It was a very surreal moment; here we are two 19 year old girls away from home on the other side of the world in a place where we don’t speak the language and all of the sudden we are alone in a 300 foot long hall lined top to bottom with these absolutely priceless piece of art. It just a pinch me moment that I will never forget.
