The Geists are too scared to do anything for now, but there’s a whole other horde of spirits forming that’s following your circus from a safe distance. I’m trying to get them to disperse, and them knowing you’ll stop destroying spirits instead of using the proper banishing rites/letting me do the proper banishing rites for you would make negotiations a lot quicker. They aren’t the people you killed, so it’s gonna be easier, but they need assurances.
