It's amazing how you missed the point of what I was trying to say.
I'm saying veganism is not better for the environment - sue me. Eating not vegan isn't better for the environment either. The food industry as a whole is built on overproduction, overconsumption and overuse of natural resources. No matter how you eat, the industry is still going and destroying the environment even if you live on a farm and grow your own vegetables, and fruit and keep animals, the industry is still overproducing and then getting rid of food they didn't sell, even if it's still good to eat. It's great if you can source your food locally because it's healthier and supports your community, but without systemic change, our diet does not positively affect the environment. No matter what you choose to eat, both animal produce and non animal produce is being thrown away and wasted.
Eating anything isn't either morally correct or incorrect. Eating is something we need to do to survive. We can argue that eating products from a producer whose practices are unethical could be seen as morally wrong. But eating itself and the kind of produce we eat have no moral weight and shouldn't be looked at through a moral lens.
Also, you say that you're not implying that I'm a bad person for eating animal produce but you're so clearly focusing on the meat aspect and using guilt-tripping language. Love the suggestion that I live without/with bad morals because I eat meat and don't think that not eating animal produce makes you morally superior to me.
And it's great to hear that my and many others' experiences are belittling to you!! Oh, I love it when people interpret my own experiences as a personal attack. Oh, how I love it when people are unable to comprehend that different experiences coexist and they don't invalidate each other.
Listen, I'm genuinely happy for every disabled person, every person with a history of EDs, and those with both who were able to become vegetarian/vegan and are happy with their choices - because I want everyone to live their best lives. But don't use their experiences to invalidate mine. I personally can't make the switch. About a year ago when I made this post I wanted to make it so badly. So many people who were supposed to be my community looked at me with disgust when I was fighting myself to finally eat something, anything - just because every one of maybe 20 dishes I could stomach had animal produce in one way or another. Now I don't feel bad because I made my peace with the fact that I can't do it and I don't want to. I want to work towards change where I can to source my animal produce from small, ethical farms in my area and all my vegan/vegetarian friends can get all of the veggies fruit, and grain their heart desires. And until then I refuse to make my mental health issues worse because some people's idea of activism is "meat bad and disgusting, veggie good".
I'm sorry for being a bitch, but literally the whole post was written while thinking about people who think and talk like you. I'm really fucking tired of being treated and talked to like that.
Veganism Rant
Disclaimer: it’s just a rant of a tired autistic punk who was active in XRY for a while. I’m not hating on people who genuinely just don’t like animal products or just don’t feel good morally whe eating meat etc. It’s just about political veganism (I’m not sure what else to call it) and veganism in activist spaces.
I genuinely HATE how most of eco activists see veganism.
I understand if you think that it’s morally bad to eat meat. I understand if you don’t want to eat it. But saying or behaving like it’s a morally superior practice - that’s absolute bullshit.
Vegans who try to guilt trip people into becoming vegan/vegetarian are not morally superior - but somehow they think they are. They’re not morally superior for advocating for eliminating meat from everyone’s diet. They’re just assholes and I’m tired of pretending that they aren’t.
They’re not making the world better by saying that all consumption of animal products is bad.
Often the vegan alternatives are just as bad for the environment as animal products. And I just can’t understand why are they focusing on the meat and animal products? Those aren’t the problem. The real problem is the industrialisation of the process of production. Animal products aren’t bad - the overwhelming number of animals and the inhumane conditions they live in are the problem.
There are so many people who can’t or just don’t want to resign from eating animal products. I can’t stop eating animal products encaustic I’m an autistic person with a long history of eating disorders and very bad sensory issues. If I stopped eating animal products I’d have to survive on fruit juice, pickles and rice waffles. And I don’t want to resign from animal products because I don’t want to resign from my culture. I don’t want to resin from the classic dishes from my country and traditional regional products.
And the most infuriating thing is that when I try nicely discuss this stuff they either ignore me or don’t listen to my arguments at all. I really want to be active in XRY but it’s impossible when everyone is making me feel like the most despicable human being on Mother Earth because I can’t/won’t switch to veganism/vegetarianism
I swear to gods - if another vegan/vege/eco activist tells me I should go vegan/vege I’ll start biting and stealing knees (/hj)

EXAMS
I just passed my first exam yesterday! It was an English exam, so it was extremely easy. I got 96% on the written part and 100% on the oral one! Now I have only 12 exams left ✯ Computer Science The written part will be extremely easy, but I have no idea what to do for the oral part ;-; ✯ Geography The written part should be okay and for the oral part, I'll make a slideshow about ecology! ✯ HiT (The full name of the subject is "Historia i Teraźniejszość", which translates to "History and Present".)(It's an awful subject with a textbook that's basically just a conservative blog in book form).(I hate it). ✯ P.P. (Podstawy Przedsiębiorczości, which translates to Basics of Entrepreneurship.) It's incredibly boring but I should be okay without too much preparation ✯ Biology I have no idea how I'll survive biology TwT ✯ Chemistry ✯ Physics I'm TERRYFIED of Chemistry and Physics 😭 ✯ History I'll do the written part without any issues (I hope) and I'll make a slideshow about the French Revolution for the oral part ✯ Philosophy I'm a little bit scared and I don't have any ideas for my project, but I think I'll do good ✯ Polish I really don't want to do the required reading but I'll have to TwT </3 ✯ Mathematics I WILL DIE. ✯ Russian I know almost no Russian. The only thing I know is the little rhyme you say before singing the alphabet </3

It's the second day of school, and I'm so happy!! I have all of my exams planned!! And I have already done 24 worksheets out of the 288 I have to do (they're so easy, and I calculated that if I do the work only during the work-days I only have to do around 1,5 of a worksheet a day xD so I have over three weeks of work done already! :D)
I'm doing as much as I can right now, so I don't have to worry about it when I'm low on energy :]
I'm so full of energy right now aaaaaa
I'm so happy, I finally can do my school work and all of my friends are in town so I can visit them in their stationary school :DD

I’m allowed to be lazy. Disabled or not. Laziness isn’t an inherently bad thing y’all just too caught up in hyper capitalist hustle culture to care. I don’t owe you productivity. I’m allowed to rest.
My rest is radical.

I really want to just live in the woods in a cabin and have people see me as another local cryptid as I explore the woods and lay in the moss and I want to read stories of myself on cryptid website with people just talking about how they've seen this odd creature in the woods- is that too much to ask?

Only 8 days left until the start of the school year :D I’m so excited!!
My room still is not in the perfect state for the exams and stuff like that, but I’m still excited.
My exam plan for this year right now is:
• Pass the easiest subjects first - every one week I have to pass one or two exam (I just want the easiest subjects behind me so I don’t have to worry and rush getting ready for the harder ones)
• Work hard to pass the harder subjects (chemistry, physics, math etc). Maybe I’ll even be able to catch up with stuff I didn’t get to learn before high school :]
• Work the HARDEST on my specialisation subjects!! I want to have the highest marks possible in Polish, Philosophy and History - I choose to major in them for a reason, I love them dearly and I really want to make wonderful presentations that show my passion for them.
Exams are pretty easy - they have written part and oral part. During the written exams I can use internet, notes, textbooks etc to help myself so I’m not worried about these. The oral part is more interesting - to pass the oral part you can either debate a teacher, make a project (anything from a drawing to a slideshow) you then discuss with a teacher or you can choose the pre-written questions (teacher then chooses two questions at random). I’ll be focusing on projects because I’m best at ranting so I can just make a slideshow and talk.
I already have loose ideas for two of my slideshows:
• English - last year I’d a presentation on the series Alienist(2019) so I’ll probably make a slideshow about some other series. I just have to show that I know how to structure sentences and that I know enough words in English, so I can do a slideshow on anything I want. Maybe I’ll make it about my book so I can infodump about it without any consequences lol
• Geography - it’ll 100% be about ecology, but I have to decide what specific issue. To write about. I’m thinking about unethical fishing or possible ethical methods of production and consumption of meat.
I also really want to do one worksheet a day :] (or at least one every two days)

if there's one thing i ask all parents to do, it's to teach their children about disability from an early age. i cannot leave my house without every child i come across staring at me and/or my mobility aid. as much as i understand children are curious, it's extremely humiliating to feel as though i'm an exhibition for able-bodied people to gawk at.

Also - it’s infuriating to hear people say that they know a lot of leftist theory only to then try to convince you that you can vote with your money.
I thought we agreed that big companies don’t care? We just agreed that my decision to not buy a product from a big corporation won’t change the fact that they’re a big corporation and that they have more money then they’d ever need. We just talked about the fact that it’s an issue on such a big scale that simple refusing to buy [insert a thing] won’t solve it. We just agreed that if I need [insert a product], but I can’t craft it and I’m not wealthy enough buy a more sustainable version I still should buy it even if it’s from a shitty corporation.
If we’re on the same page there, please explain to me why the situation would be different with animal products?
Every time this happens I’m so confused, because I can’t tell if they’re just lying to me or lying to themselves.
Why are most people in eco spaces so privileged that they ostracise people who are the most affected by the climate change? You’re pushing away people who are affected the most only to then feed your ego by talking about how much you are about impoverished people in Africa or Asia. It’s disgusting that I’ve met so many people who do that. I am on the thin line between getting by and poverty, and to make the matters worse I’m disabled - which means that I’m completely useless and unwanted. Or at least that means that I’ treated as if I’m useless and unwanted.
I know that thinking on a big scale is important but for fucks sake think about your own community for a second before role-playing as a hero of the planet.

A dopamine-friendly version of this post for my fellow neurodivergent people who might need it!
•
[ID: three photos, all in a coral and white color scheme, text reads: “You should care about disabled people’s rights because you should care disenfranchisement of a marginalized community.” The next reads: “The narrative that you should care about disabled people because one day that’ll be you is ableist in and of itself” the last photo reads: “Becoming disabled is not a punishment. Becoming disabled is not a threat. Becoming disabled is not cosmic retaliation for being ableist. Becoming disabled is morally neutral” My blog name, ‘Chronically Couchbound’ is at the bottom of each photo. End ID]
