#bookmark#only 90s kids and 80s kids and anyone who lived at any point in time will get this#.food cw /#.(i'm kidding)#.(well i'm kidding but specifically i'm being self-deprecating in a 'fun' way bc i'm ancient...)#.i say 'a fun way' but my guess is that the people who have things to say#.would have things to say about even my 'fun' self-deprecation...#.so imma...#.uh#.stop i guess for now#.and try to kind of tame it until i can find out one way or the other#.bc the absolute last thing i need rn in that context#.is to set myself back even further#.bc i... it is requiring a massive amount of internal (and beneath my conscious level) energy#.to keep me moving forward on this path#.this path that 99.9% of me does NOT want me to be on

A woman who lived next door to a preacher was puzzled by his personality change in the pulpit.
At home he was shy, quiet and retiring but in the church he was a real fire and brimstone orator, rousing the masses in the name of God. It was as if he was two different people. One day she asked him about the dramatic transformation that came over him when he preached. “Ah,” he said, “that’s my altar ego.”

“Having too much sex can result in memory loss.”
I read that on page 37, paragraph five of the New England Medical Journal on September 15th, 2014 at 10:37 am.
#badjokesbyjeff#.lmao#.clever jeff#.v clever#.bookmark#.some of these jokes are so wrong but omg some of them are so right bc of it#.so long as nothing gets -too- out there or 'problematic'#.i can see myself really enjoying this url#.granted i'm only like... half a dozen posts in#.but so far while some of it is off-color or even gallows/black-humor#.none of it seems... problematic in the 'hateful' or 'prejudiced' senses etc#.sooooooo#.ONWARD!

A priest has a heart attack and is rushed to the hospital.
He wakes up as he’s being rushed through the hospital on a gurney by two nurses.
“Am I in heaven?” asks the disoriented priest.
“No” says one of the nurses. “We’re just taking a short cut through the children’s ward.”
#badjokesbyjeff#.NO YOU DIDN'T#.omg he did#.omg#.molestation cw /#.pedophlia cw /#.abuse cw /#.rape cw /#.ah... i can't rmeember#.i think that's all appilcable tags but maybe i'm blanking#.i mean i'm definitely blanking#.but i mean maybe i'm blanking on a tag specifically and not just whether th... this is a digression that has no real relevance#.ANYWAY#.at first i was like 'aw. cherubs!'#.then about five seconds later i was like rachel!'noOOOOOOOOh!!'

#.bookmark#.tag commentary bc idc to actually discourse anybody#.it's more of a personal note for myself#.bc if i have an observation i often want to -make- that observation#.if only so i can sort of... 'catalogue' it in my mind#.BUT ANYWAY#. i never really go the impression that Ron Swanson would be homophobia or more generally LGBTQ+-phobic#.i got the impression more he'd have a problem w the govt telling you you HAVE to respect people#.than that he actually would DISrespect people himself#.he is much more classically libertarian imo#.than current 'your gender is irrelevant bc ugh you're wrong and i'll be hateful if i want to'#.which is the vibe i get from MODERN day libertarians#.i suspect his dislike for europe is more the 'nanny state' component (not my judgment) of 'evil socialism'#.again not my judgment#.and thus 'govt getting into errybody's lives and making a mess of it'#.so him disliking taxes and hiding gold etc. is more about 'this is mine i did this' than 'poor people bad'#.Ron Swanson specifically values his freedom and wants to be left alone by govt and bureaucracy#.which is (actually not) ironic bc HE WORKS IN ONE! (not ironic bc he's... somewhat obstructionist+not 'lazy'#.but 'lazy' in executing things that need to be done. i sensed he sort of was always dragging his feet#.in order that the bureaucracy would be less efficient bc... perhaps ironically#.or at least self fulfilling-prophecy wise... that's how bureaucracy IS to him. pointless. inefficient. redundant.#.so by making it MORE inefficient. it... presumably acts as a counterargument against itself.#.BUT all that said. bc of his personal philosophy. i v much believe he would be 'i don't understand this but you do you'#.PLEASE NOTE that my toy analysis of Ron Swanson#.is NOT an agreement w his philosophy#.i can enjoy the character without thinking his worldviews would have net benefit. never mind actually HOLDING them myself#.i am v v much of the belief that a society that takes benign care of its people. even as a 'nanny state'#.is one in which society as a whole is capable of functioning more effectively and one that is more likely to thrive#.and also allow for harmonious coexistence between the various peoples of the world#.bc without artificial scarcity. and without fearing for survival itself. i truly believe people would be kinder and more compassionate.
