Okay babe, then why are you still lurking in the Thirteen tag like a jilted ex who can’t stop checking their ex’s stories? You “don’t watch anymore,” but somehow you’ve got time to comment under every TikTok and post complaining about how “the writing sucks now.” Sure. Definitely not about the whole woman Doctor thing. Definitely.

Listen, I’m not saying the Thirteen era was flawless. The whole Timeless Child thing? Yeah, not my favorite. Fugitive Doctor? Cool concept, completely underused. SpyMaster? Cute chaos gremlin, but he took Missy’s entire arc and set it on fire.

And you know what? Despite all that, I still love Thirteen. I like her more than Nine. Yeah, I said it. She brought a joy and warmth we hadn’t seen since Eleven left — and that doesn’t get erased just because the plot got messy. Every era has its disasters. Ten spent two episodes crying as a human and an entire season emotionally tormenting Martha because he couldn’t stop grieving Rose. Eleven’s stories often made zero sense unless you had a corkboard and red string. Twelve punched a wall for literal millennia. Iconic? Yes. Nonsensical? Also yes.

So don’t pretend your issue is “bad writing.” It’s not. It’s that the Doctor looked and sounded different than your nostalgia told you she should.

You don’t have to love this era. But stop acting like it ruined the show. Just go back to rewatching your faves and let the rest of us enjoy our queer space chaos in peace.

Oh no, not the woke agenda in Doctor Who! You mean the show that was co-created by a woman, produced by a gay man, and featured a time-traveling alien best friends with a bunch of strong-willed women, queer-coded villains, and companions who didn’t need a man to tell them what to do? Shocking. Truly unprecedented. Two and Jamie were clearly just really, really close friends, right? And Thoschei? Just gals being pals—but make it genocidal.

But sure, tell me more about how the Fifteen era “ruined the show.” Peter Capaldi literally said if you have a problem with Doctor Who being progressive, you were never really a fan. And he was right.
