'Slayers', songs that hit me right in the heart, move me, full up twists and turns, unrestricted by genre and dance floor demands; these are a few of the records that I strong-armed from Canada and a few bought upon arrival in Barcelona.

These records make me think of loved ones near and far. Here, for them and you, is a sampling of our vinyl collection that I’m really into right now. All of them I have bought only in record stores I’m physically standing in, thus marking them with memories of travels, adventures and hunts at favourite haunts.

Some of these songs came into my world via some wonderful DJs digitally, but having the platter spinning on my turntable keeps the love and sharing going; thank you to them, here are some more in return.

Expect a totally different mix next week with 60s garage, psych, and belters.

Here’s more of the exciting Cherry Wainer c. 1966 on the Hammond organ with husband Don Storer on Drums performing Cole Porter’s “Love For Sale" and more!

This clip is most likely from the German TV show Beat! Beat! Beat! where this dynamic duo was the house band and featured top acts like the Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Kinks.

Last heard, Cherry was working in a small Las Vegas giftshop in 2009. She settled down there in 1968 from London. Sadly, her husband died in 2006 at age 77. - Via
