I hate to do this, but I've a perplexity about *SOME* (not all by any means, just to be clear) small businesses.

I've just watched a very famous YouTuber spend over 200 dollars minimum on Etsy over DIY projects people can make in an hour.

Small businesses sell themselves as an alternative to capitalism and consumerism, they preach to cater to the buyer in a more unique way and to be a change for people and the market...

But then why *SOME* of them crazy overprice their pieces?

I'm talking about the ones, sadly there seems to be a lot, who clearly can not be justified by the materials, nor the time or the quality, but they still sell because they're ✨small businesses✨.

Is it really anti capitalism to have these crazy profit margins?

Is it really pro people and pro costumer to create something only the rich people can really afford?

Is it really helping the market, or will corporations see what people are willing to pay for something handmade and increase their prices on factory items?

And I repeat, I'm talking about SOME small businesses that are blatantly overpriced but get platformed by influencers and sell a lot anyway (to give a measure... 90$ for a small accessory the size of a big tissue made of scrap fabric, 300$ for a small canvas painted in acrylics without the need of particular technique nor studying etc. and without a particular and distinct art style... 300$ for a beach cover up made of second hand tissues just sewed together)

Plus... isn't this harmful also for the other legit small businesses, that get more competition on already small and niche markets and that will get the bad rep of being too pricey?

I'm in no way shape or form demonizing books with smut or a lot of sex in general. It's most women's access to porn without the trash and problems of the porn industry. And women should be able to explore sexuality in more explicit ways.

BUT.

We do criticize and demonize men when they have a porn addiction.

This up here may be a joke, but we know damn well for a lot of girls and women it isn't. They would not open a book if there's not porn in it.

So why is it taboo to also label this as porn addiction??? Cause it's porn addiction at this point.

If it's dangerous and harmful for men, it is also for women, even if the medium is different.
