I’m not even in this fandom. But to be honest, I think everything is ambiguous enough that even people outside of it can still appreciate the awesome art.

Because the message behind this piece is honestly so cool? It’s dark of course, and that last panel really hits hard because you cringe at the crunch… but it’s also true and the art here illustrates it really well with no true gore shown.

The parallel between an fawn displaying opportunistic eating behaviors and two different children in two different scenarios doing what it took to survive - one that is protecting herself and her sibling from child traffickers and one that is running from the man he just stole from because he can’t afford to buy food himself…

Innocence is a privilege. Survival will always win out in the end.

This really is an amazing work of art.

Nature reminds us that out there with survival at stake, our neatly-drawn boundaries can become a little blurred.

I see the original post going around every so often and it saddens me a little that it's never accompanied by this thread explaining why it's completely understandable how a child would arrive at these spellings in accordance with english phonetics

I remember when we had someone come in and give little internet safety talks to us in class - about how you shouldn’t trust strangers on the internet and give them your personal information or images of yourself.

Now that social media has become so widespread and accepted and being in online spaces at younger and younger ages is just… the norm, people figure those kinds of lessons aren’t needed anymore I guess. Because kids are basically growing up online.

But imo they still DO need the lessons and this is a big reason why. I mean, yeah they shouldn’t be warned not to talk to strangers on the internet. Because… no.

But they should be warned about giving out too much personal information because the internet legitimately never forgets. They should be reminded that being on the internet and seeing adult content does not mean they are adults, regardless of what they may want to think. That there are more than just porn BOTS on sites like this.

There are people behind these profile pictures, for better or for worse - and our actions online can have real life repercussions.

The least you can do is protect yourself.

It's actually so scary to hear yall are 12-13 😭😭 when I was 12 I wasn't actively talking to the creators that I liked and I was in a very small/and not very safe community

Its obvious to me when people who post about canaries in mines have never met a canary.
