so you're dating a memeber of the band
Summary: Weiss goes to see her girlfriend before they preform their set.
Pairing: Weiss x Ruby
Word Count: 1,513
Warning: smoking
N/A: inspired by a scene from 'Haunting Adeline' by H.D. Carlton
-
Upon walking into the bar, Weiss has the quickest realization as to why she hates them.
They’re overstimulating as hell.
Between the chatter of patrons and the buzz of the music, it makes her nerves stand on high alert, causing her chest to constrict. She had momentarily considered telling Ruby that she couldn't make it to tonight's show but with a begrudging sigh she hadn't. Weiss rarely attends any of Ruby’s gigs due to her own busy schedule as a nursing major but given that the semester had nearly finished, she is low on homework as well as excuses.
Trying to compact herself she makes her way slowly through the crowd, trying to find Yang in the sea of people. She nibbles at the corner of her mouth as she ducks to avoid the arm of a beefy man with a cup of beer in his thick fingers. The amber liquid spills over the lip of the glass and splashes on her shoes, dampening the fabric. She glares at him, grinding her jaw but the man shrugs, swaying on his feet.
With swift movement Weiss continues forward, relief washing over her when she spots a head full of thick, blonde curls.
“You made it!” Yang squeals, her smile strong but her arms stronger as she gives Weiss a hug. Weiss grins when they separate and slips onto the seat beside her.
“Yeah, figured I'd finally make an appearance,” She hums as she glances around the dimly lit bar. “It’s not every day your girlfriend invites you to see her perform.”
Yang gives her an incredulous look. “Rubes has been begging you to come for nearly the entire semester.”
“I know, I know,” Weiss says sheepishly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. “I should've come sooner.”
Reaching for her beer, Yang gives her a good-natured shrug. “Don't sweat it! You're here now. Ruby’s gonna be pumped.”
Before she can answer Weiss takes in the slender form of Blake gliding into the seat across from her, her dark hair braided over one shoulder. Yang grins and leans to the side, pressing her lips to Blakes cheek in a quick peck.
“Weiss!” Blake says happily, her cheeks flushed. “You’re finally here! Oh gosh Ruby’s gonna go wild.”
“So I've heard.” Weiss says, leaning into her palm and she can’t help but feel the slightest twinge of pride.
Ruby and Weiss had been, what Yang affectionately liked to call ‘dancing’, around one another for months. There had always been a chemistry, a pulling of strings, but it wasn’t until Yang had had enough of them undressing one another with their eyes that they finally put a label on it. She prides herself on being the reason they finally admitted their attraction, and then their affections, towards one another, and Weiss credited her for causing some of the happiest months of her life with her favorite person.
“Our sets about to start in the next twenty minutes or so,” Blake says, taking Yang's beer and slurping. She holds it out to Weiss, and the girl takes it with graduated, taking two large gulps. “Ruby’s probably out by the back if you want to say hello before we get started.”
Weiss doesn't miss the way Yang wiggles her eyebrows suggestively as she stands from the table, pressing down her rising skirt as she makes her way down the familiar hallway that leads to the back alley where the band members tended to smoke or pregame before performances. While Weiss wasn't a bar girl, she had gone out a handful of times, disliking it more with each attempt. But watching Ruby shred a guitar while wearing dark liner and a muscle tee was worth it to her.
Pushing on the metal handlebar Weiss enters the backend of the bar, glancing around for her favorite brunette. She does a double take at the girl leaning against the brick wall and swallows hard.
Ruby is dressed in her favorite ripped skinny jeans, the ones that are cuffed at the ankles, and a gray muscle tee, her black sports bra visible through the large, homemade cuts of her shirt. Her hairs cropped short but loose, the ends spiked and her eyes were smokey, silver iris’s piercing though the eyeshadow. Several chains hang on the loops of her jeans and Weiss can spot a cigarette carton peeking from her back pocket. The sight of her girlfriend in full rocker-mode makes Weiss’s stomach flip but then Ruby raises a cigarette to her mouth, takes a slow drag before letting out the smoke and Weiss is nearly panting.
Standing directly in front of her is Ruby’s drummer Oscar, a sweet boy from a small town that had just transferred to Beacon Community. With his fluffy curls and adolescent freckles, Oscar looks like the opposite of what he is, and that is a confident member of the band. A pair of drumsticks poke out from his back pocket as he laughs at something Ruby says, his eyes closed in humor. When he opens them, he notices Weiss standing stiffly by the back door and he grins.
“Weiss!” he cheers, and his words make Ruby stand straight, her head wiping towards the door, a grin already spreading over her face.
Weiss smiles and feels her cheeks heat as she moves towards them, lacing her hands together behind her back. She doesn't know why but with both of them staring at her she feels self conscious, like she’s cornered.
“Damn,” Ruby says in a low tone, her cigarette simingling forgotten in between her fingers. Her eyes rake up and down Weiss’ form, and she shakes her head as if to clear it. “Damn.”
Oscar laughs, the freckles on his face moving with his snickering. “Well I'm going to make myself scarce and give you two some… time, before the show.” He snickers, stubbing out his cigarette. “Ruby, ten minutes til curtains. Don't be late.”
Ruby flicks her hand dismissively and Oscar rolls his eyes. “I mean it.”
“Yeah yeah,” she says lightly, giving him a lopsided smile and he gives a little sigh of defeat. Shoving one of his hands in his jean pocket he pulls the backdoor open and disappears inside.
Feeling suddenly exposed now that they're alone, Weiss licks her lips before rocking in her heels. “You nervous for tonight?”
“Nah,” Ruby replies with confidence. She presses her back to the wall, one leg propped up by her boot-cladded foot pressing into the brick and she cocks her head to the side as the pitch of her voice dips. “Come’re, princess.”
Weiss’s blood warms and moving two steps forward she's standing with her feet between Ruby's legs, arms laced around the guitarist's neck as she leans close. Ruby grins and it’s coquettish, lively, tendrils of gray smoke escaping the corners of her mouth. Weiss wrinkles her nose, moves her waist back but Ruby loops an arm around her and drags her closer
“You know I hate kissing when you smoke.” Weiss complains, and Ruby nods once, her hand that's not holding the cigarette drops to Weiss’ backside and gives her ass a light squeeze.
“Yeah but I know you think it looks hot, even if it doesn't taste great.” Ruby counters and Weiss scoffs, rolling her eyes and ignoring the twisting in her gut. With a light sigh she leans forward and slots her mouth over Ruby’s. She can feel Ruby's hand palm over the material of her skirt before sliding beneath it, her fingers so hot Weiss can feel the heat through the thin cotton of her panties.
Closing her eyes, Weiss relishes in the warmth of her breath and slips her tongue inside Ruby's mouth, swirling around hers as the kisses grow frantic. She tugs on the fabric of Ruby’s muscle tee, pulling her closer and feels Ruby's hand tighten on her ass. The red head drops the cigarette from between her fingers and grips Weiss by the back of her neck, controlling the kiss. It makes Weiss weak in the knees, her head fuzzy from the smoke and beer and Ruby's skin against her own.
“Mmm,” Ruby hums, leans her forehead against Weiss’ and takes a sharp breath. Weiss smiles, breathing out through her nose and looks down. The discarded cigarette glows dimly against the dark cement of the alley and she glances up.
“Your cigarette is still lit,” she whispers, trying to catch her breath. For a brief moment Ruby looks confused but when she spots the limp tube her face clears to one of recognition. She lifts her foot and stomps it out before looking up at Weiss through hooded eyes.
“Better?” Ruby asks, and her tone is like liquid heat. Weiss swallows, her chest warm as she feels Ruby's hand massaging the skin of her neck, thumb pressing lightly to her pulse point.
“You shouldn't litter.” she says hoarsely, earning a grin in return. Dropping her hands, Ruby bends and picks the cigarette up before depositing it in her empty back pocket.
“Sorry, baby,” she rasps. “Won’t happen again.”

Leave the City
Summary: After finding Ruby lost in her thoughts, Weiss offers a way to bring her back.
Pairing: Weiss & Ruby
Word Count: 2,067
Warning: Angst
A/N: inspired by 'Leave the City' by twenty one pilots and for @team-iceflower for hitting 1k on Tik Tok <3

It’s nearly two a.m. when Weiss finds her.
Sitting with her legs crossed in front of their outdoor fire pit, the one that was so deep in the woods Weiss sometimes forgets about it, Ruby has Crescent Rose by her side. Dead leaves crunch under Weiss’ foot and if Ruby heard, she didn’t acknowledge it. The moon and stars cast light over them, and the haze from the fire reflects off their faces.
Even when Weiss approaches, Ruby is quiet, unspeaking. Instead, she leans forward, her fingers brushing over Crescent Rose.
Gently, Weiss places a hand on Ruby’s upper shoulder and says nothing, waits for Ruby to be ready. It's her way of letting the girl know she wasn’t alone.
“I wonder if Alyx knew she wouldn’t see Remnant again.” Ruby says after a while. “If she knew, that her story would become a fairytale. If she knew that when she got to the Ever After, that it was almost over.”
Weiss bites the inside of her cheek.
Kneeling, Weiss slowly cradles Ruby's chin to lift her eyes to her own. Ruby was not herself, Weiss could see it. She was sick. Sick in a way that a healer could never fix.
“Come inside.” Weiss says softly.
“Why?” Ruby asks, and it seemed to take a great deal of strength for her to do so.
“Because it's your home.” Weiss replies, one hand drifting to Ruby's neck.
“I don’t have a home.” Ruby says, her tone monotone, empty. Her hands stay in her lap, clenched.
“Our home,” Weiss tries. “The home we have.”
Ruby says nothing, seems to look past Weiss and into the fire, but Weiss insists, grips her hand and helps her stand. Ruby is heavier than usual even though she looks thinner, her cheekbones sharp, eyes deeper.
“Close your cloak, it’s going to rain.'' Weiss says, but she's already tightening Ruby’s cloak, smoothing it over her shoulders.
By the time they walk into the clearing of their home, a light rain had begun. Ruby’s hair was tied in a bun atop her head but the loose pieces that normally frame her face are wet, sticking to her skin.
“Come now,” Weiss encourages, opening the back door and holding it wide. Rain pelts the windows softly, drumming in an easy rhythm. Unbutton the cloak, Weiss removes it, drapes it over a dining room chair before removing her own jacket.
“Thanks.” Ruby whispers, standing still in the doorway, her eyes on the floor.
Weiss pauses, not expecting that. Gingerly, she places a hand on Rubys forearm. “Just relax.”
After slipping out of their shoes, she leads her upstairs to their bedroom, settles her on the reading chair. As soon as Ruby sits, Zwei hops into her lap, his tail wagging and face begging for attention.
Ruby blinks, stretches her fingers along his fur and Weiss nods.
“Yes, good idea, stay with him, and I’ll be back in a moment.”
Ruby scratches the dog behind its ear, inhaling the familiar scent of their room. She enjoys their room, the comfort it brings, but she can't help but feel alone the moment Weiss disappears from view. Ruby sighs, lifts her head and watches the heavy drops of rain pitter down the glass.
The dog lets out a low whine, indiciating Weiss’ return. She’s changed into a cream silk robe, a blue tank top peeking out from the top, and in hand she holds a mug. Dipping her arm, she grips Zwei before she holds the mug out to Ruby, and places the dog at the door, patting his head.
Ruby raises the mug to her mouth, takes a sip, and realizes she doesn't know where Crescent Rose is. She grimaces in irritation.
Taking several sips, they sit in relative silence, watching the rain, listening to its sputtering descent. Eventually, Ruby places the mug on the windowsill, lets out a defeated sigh, and that's when Weiss decides to crawl into her lap.
“You seem to be lost tonight.”
Instead of replying, Ruby reaches for the mug, takes a long sip before placing it back down. Weiss curls an arm around her neck, settles against her smoothly.
“I guess so.” Ruby whispers.
Weiss kisses her check, and Ruby notes how solid her touch is.
“I’ve got you, Petal.” Weiss says. “I’m here.”
“It’s never enough,” Ruby spits, her tone harsh. “No matter what I do, how many plans I make… it does not make a difference.”
Weiss puts her hand on Ruby’s cheek, brushes the thumb over her skin.
“I… need to leave. I need it to stop,” Ruby begs, squeezing her eyes shut. “I need to forget, just for a while.”
“That I can do.” Weiss says softly, blue eyes meeting silver ones. Ruby swallows, and for the first time that night she reaches to touch her.
“Drop your hair,” Ruby pleads, her voice trembling, and Weiss reaches up, removes her ponytail, lets her white locks run free. Ruby sighs, threads her fingers into Weiss’s hair, nails scraping her scalp as she takes hold, and Weiss draws her close to press her mouth against her own.
The kiss is soft and deep, like a tidal wave between them and they don’t pull away until they are breathless, fire burning in Ruby's eyes. Her hands warm on Weiss’ back, moving where they please. Weiss cups her face, meets Ruby's lips again, kissing her steadily, fingers trailing down her neck and smoothing over her uniform. A moan seeps from her mouth when Ruby pulls at the robe, sliding it from her shoulders.
Ruby pulls the fabric away to reveal the rest of the tank top, and white lace panties. She holds Weiss close, leans in to kiss her neck and her fingers reach under the tank top, inching it upwards. Weiss holds her arms up, letting her slide it over her figure.
The robe's tie loosens around her waist, Weiss breathes out as Ruby’s mouth trails down her neck to her chest. She sits nearly bare on her lap, letting the robe fall from her arms and onto the floor.
Weiss straddles her and leans back, allowing Ruby to look. Ruby pauses, her fingers twitching as she stares her up and down, hands flat on her thighs. She tries to speak, opens her mouth then closes it several times before eventually giving up and pressing her mouth to Weiss’, now hungry.
Breathlessly, Weiss unbuttons the front of Ruby's shirt as they kiss, shivers as the girl's hands brush over her skin. Weiss enjoys the fact that she is basically bare, while Ruby is still fully dressed.
Arm curling around her waist, Ruby drags Weiss closer and she gasps, hands tangling in her dark hair. Moving her head back, Weiss can see her Ruby beginning to look back at her. Her mind was quieting, at ease, and Weiss smiles.
Their kisses heat, growing more insistent until finally, Ruby is panting, her lips swollen and wet. Weiss feels her breath puff across her skin, her breathing coming in short gasps, muffled when she kisses her. She raises her hips when she feels Ruby slide a hand between them, and when her thumb grazes her clit, the huntress tenses, feels her jaw clench.
Ruby’s fingers are soft against her and Weiss flushes as Ruby works her terribly slow. Ruby is nothing but precise, deliberate movements knowing where to touch, and Weiss wraps an arm around her neck as she slips a single finger inside.
Ruby groans as she feels Weiss flutter around her digits, stroking her gently before she adds another finger. She shuts her eyes as she focuses on the sounds Weiss makes in her ears, increasing the pace and curling her fingers, feeling the heiress’s body tense as he sounds grow louder.
Pressing her mouth to Weiss’s shoulder, her other arm keeps Weiss still in her lap. At least, her mind is blank, free of any angst, solely focused on the girl in her arms.
Releasing a breath, Ruby kisses her shoulders, her brows knitted in concentration as she feels her own desire begin to pool in her underwear. She pumps faster, thumb pressing into Weiss again and the girl cries out, her hips bucking, whining so perfectly that Ruby couldn’t ignore it any longer. Removing her hands, she fumbles with her suit, pulls at the fabric.
Weiss stands, drags Ruby up with her and unzips her clothing. When she’s naked, she pushes Ruby back down, nudges her thighs apart before she falls to her knees between them, mouth ajar.
Weiss places a string of kisses on Ruby’s thighs, occasionally pausing to give her small nips. Ruby gasps when Weiss presses a kiss to her center, and then gives her a long swipe with her tongue.
Ruby throws her head back against the couch, moaning. Weiss’ fingers grip one of Ruby’s thighs, the other coming to meet her mound. She slowly pushes a single digit inside of her as she laps at her clit. Ruby’s hands tangle themselves in Weiss’ hair, trying to pull her closer. After a few pumps with one finger, she slips in a second, and it makes Ruby full. Weiss’ tongue circles around her clit, teasing her, and when Ruby's hips buck against her face, Weiss grins.
Looking into her face, Weiss sits up and Ruby volts forward, capturing her mouth. With a shudder, she drops her hand to Weiss’ cunt, pumping her fingers easily, and Weiss melts, her knees shaking.
Trying to regain her composure, she stands from between Ruby’s knees, missing the other girl's fingers but grabs her wrist, pulling her to the bed. Even in the semi darkness she can make out lust-blown silver eyes.
Ruby lays on the bed, her legs falling open as Weiss digs into her nightstand, grabbing the familiar wand toy. She crawls between Ruby's legs kissing up her breast and neck before making it to her mouth. Leaning up, Weiss gives her a knowing look.
“Ready?” Weiss asks, hand on the hilt of the wand.
“Please, please.” Ruby rasps. Weiss pushes her to her back, sweeping white blonde locks from her own face, sweat pooling at her neck and brow. Ruby didn't want words. She wasn't in the mood for praise or love, not yet anyways.
Switching the wand on, Weiss places it lightly against Ruby’s center. Ruby lets out a groan, her knees wobble and her hands grip the sheets, knuckles white.
For a while, Weiss keeps Ruby on her back, pushing her down when the girl would try to sit up. Her hands danced along Ruby's chest, into her hair, against her cheek. She kissed her breasts as the toy brought Ruby closer and closer to excellence, over and over but denying her before she could shatter.
Ruby’s back arched off the bed, hissing through her teeth as her Aura flickers. Her cheeks grew rosy, her Aura surging and thinning as Weiss teases her, watching her silver eyes fill with nothing but pleasure.
When she came, Ruby released a choking sound, her release fierce and impending. Weiss watches in calculated awe, her mouth agape as she works her partner to the edge. As her release subsides, Ruby sits up on shaky elbows, Weiss turning the wand off. Ruby tries to reach for her, tries to repay the favor but Weiss hushes her, lays her down so they lay side by side, facing one another, and when Weiss looks at her, Ruby is smiling. The smile is wide, her eyes covered by the back of her hand.
It's quiet for a moment before Ruby gives her a coy expression, and lets out a twinkle of laughter. Putting an arm around Weiss’ waist, she drags her close.
“Thanks,” Ruby laughs, kisses her forehead. Her face grows serious for a moment. “I wasn't… meaning you. Beforehand. When I said I needed to leave. I just…”
“I know,” Weiss interrupts, and touches Ruby's temple. “There's a lot in here. But in Remnant, you're not alone.”
“Salem is gone,” Ruby says quietly. “But it feels like… she’s still here. It’s not over.”
Weiss swallows thickly. “It’s almost over, petal. You just need time to heal. One day you’ll leave that all behind.”
Ruby nods, kisses Weiss’s fingers. “One day I'll leave.”
“Yes,” Weiss says with a tired smile. She holds Ruby's hand, and blue eyes meet silver ones. “One day you will.”

Supplies
Summary: Having a crafty girlfriend means you get her supplies.
Pairing: Ruby x Weiss
Word Count: 322
Warning: none
-
As Weiss bangs open the front of their apartment door, Ruby isn’t overly surprised by the ruckus. Even with all her training and poise, Weiss is anything but quiet in every aspect of her life. Ruby has never minded, and if anything, she likes that even when she can't see her, she knows Weiss is somewhere nearby with however loud she’s being. What does surprise the red head, is the bundle upon bundles of yarn spewing from Weiss’s arms.
“Um… Weiss?” Ruby asks, standing from her desk, her comic book long forgotten. “What's all this?”
Weiss gives a huff as she opens her arms and a bundle of different colored spools of yarn fall to the couch. She’s grinning and Ruby finds it contagious.
“You said you wanted to knit team JNPR a flag.” Weiss says, as if that answers why she had just dumped pounds and pounds of yarn in their living room. When Ruby doesn’t answer, she sighs. “Annnd you need yarn to do that, no?”
Ruby blinks, eyes darting between Weiss and the colorful string. “I… so you what, bought me supplies?”
Weiss frowns, placing her hands on her hips. “Well duh! How would you knit all their colors without the proper colors?”
“But you hate knitting.”
“I don't hate it, I'm just not good at it,” Weiss says with a wave of her hand. “But you like it so, i just thought-”
“You bought all that for me?”
Weiss’s frown morphs to a confused look. “Ruby, did you hit your head or something?”
Ruby laughs before she volts forward and corrals Weiss into a hug, her arms looped around the slim girl's waist and face buried into her shoulder. Weiss lets out a short breath before Ruby feels her hands run in her hair, soft movements that make her blood thrum.
“Best girlfriend ever.” Ruby whispers into the fabric of Weiss’s top, and the other girl simply laughs.
