The thing is, they were destined to be brought into existence in a direction that wasn't on the line between Mental and Astral, because at the time I made them I was convinced that was a linear spectrum. There's so many ways of being real, actually. These are so much more like... insert the. God insert the complex view of The Messengers, beings who exist in or as the fabric of spacetime itself, instances of physics, behind closed doors the mortal world can't open, that exist to do jobs as cogs and are absolutely not confinable into "conscious" or "not conscious" because they have no conscious mind (in that state) like a rock doesn't, yet they are entirely conscious, superceding any limits on confined consciousness... basically going so far into being conscious that their existence becomes paradoxically (like how hot water starts feeling cold, you don't expect it but it happens) machine-esque. The more conscious you are the more you understand and are connected to, well, God knows nothing but duty and machinery (but also everything else), and when you Know and are more connected to the flows of consciousness (decision making, awareness of self, and so on) the more you understand yourself as a literal brick in the wall that needs to start exerting pressure and standing still to maintain it's brick-ness

... They're a lot more like that. That's... something I'm familiar with, it's a role I've played outside this life and, connecting with certain people and making this life the Incarnated Spirit Life is something I'm... well. I sont have to acknowledge it, I am it, but the Dei part of my consciousness isn't really involved in it. Oh. fuck. yeah. OK, we'll that's probably part of the Mira - or at least the Mira branch away from that but will leave a cracked door open. And of course this stuff with the Mira comes about when I'm slowly metaphorically putting on my coat to properly visit Hermes again. Messenger squad.
