Man finished Dressrosa in two weeks,and to think all of that happens in ONE DAY in the op universe and not getting to see my beloved perfect angel sanji for so long you BET i was crying throwing up every single episode

So the important things I've noted from this arc :

The D name : OMFG so the D in Law's name and how corazon says that the name D has been passed down ceaselessly, INHERITED through generations and Family of D are called the "sworn enemies of gods". Also these gods can be considered the celestial dragons, so the purpose of the D family people may be destruction of the world. D's contain ideas that is opposed to the gods. And also what doffy says at the end of Dressrosa how the celestial dragons will fall and how the D name's legacy is hidden in the history gap like omg shit's getting SERIOUS serious yall

Strawhat Fleet : with 7 Captain and 5600 people captain Cavendish of the Beautiful Pirates, Bartolomeo of Barto Club, Hajrudin of giant pirates, Leo of Tonta Corps, Don Sai of the Happosui army, Orlumbus of the Yontamaria fleet, and Ideo. Kaido sighting, this mf GIGANTIC wthThe Apoo, Kidd, Hawkins alliance

General Dressrosa Thoughts :

The Tontattas : The tontattas are so cute innocent naive and kind people. It made me think how back in history took advantage of the innocence of native people to exploit or in slave them like the doffy did with the tontattas at the factory.

Villains : The donquixote family executives were disappointing in the fights considering that everything in dressrosa happened in one day, like even the villains of baroque works put up a better resistance. I Loved sugar though she is cute as hell and her ability was unique and very scary if you think about it. Shed a little tear or two at Señor pink's backstory ngl. Doflamingo has turned into my special little princess btw

Law and cora-san : Corazon is so silly and funny I'd love to see more of him, alas he's dead. Also his name Rosinante is very cunt idk

among the strawhats, Ofc my special angel sanji shined as usual, even if he wasnt present for most of the arc. Zoro was perfect but it'd be better if they showed zoro vs pica in a continuous sequence and not cutting the fights 200 times. Usopp also was great this arc and him knocking out sugar was funny as hell the second time too

Favourite character: I love Baby 5, manshery, Viola, Sugar, Corazon, Bartolomeo, Cavendish, Tontattas, Doflamingo, Kanjuro (his hair is cunt)

Things i hated :

Rebecca and her dad are annoying

The pacing of course. Plus none of the fights were maintained in a continuous pace. Cutting off everything one after another fuckin shit

Worst Gen tournament Round 1 results!

Battle A: Apoo got slaughtered. So sad. No one will miss him. Congrats to our boy Luffy for making it to the next round! End result: Luffy 93.3% - Apoo 6.7%

Battle B: Unfortunately, Killer had to go home. Law was unbeatable no matter how hard the Killer simps tried. End result: Killer 24.3% - Law 75.7%

Battle C: Titties vs Titties. Obviously, the mosshead won. Well, at least Kid and Killer have each other's shoulder to cry on. End result: Kid 29.1% - Zoro 70.9%

Battle D: Bonney send Bege back to his family, he's okay with that; he was missing his wife and son. End result: Bonney 77.2% - Bege 22.8%

Battle E: People don't know a lot about Urouge but they do know they hate Teach. 🤷‍♀️ Go cry in a corner or something. End result: Urouge 60.7% - Teach 39.3%

Battle F: Hawkins already knew he had a 41% chance to win. A pretty big chance, for sure, but not enough. Drake moves on to the next round! End result: Hawkins 41% - Drake 59%

I want you all to remember that these characters were randomly paired by a random number generator and this was not my doing 😅

Random little add-on I decided to make for my Supernova Pirates prompt because I��m bored and want to take a slight break from writing my usual stuff since I’m ahead on it.

This is just a match up I think would happen when the Supernova Pirates inevitably fight the Blackbeard Pirates in this au. I’m going by this with current information on Blackbeard’s devil fruits. I’ll probably update this when more information is revealed about the Ten Titanic Captains.

Back again with another One Piece chapter, and this one has a little bit more Zoro fighting King, so that was nice... anywho let's get into it.

Chapter title: Oden's Beloved Sword

The chapter starts off with the aftermath of chapter 1030 (before we dove into Sanji and his ever-changin body) when Kanjuro, in his last final act, set free a 'flame yokai' (=which is, sort of, a supernatural monster/spirit in japanese mythology)

"Yōkai (妖怪, "strange apparition") are a class of supernatural entities and spirits in Japanese folklore."

Everyone, including Marco and Izo, are seen running away from the flame nobody is sure how to stop it from exploding in the island and burning it all down. CP0 are seen trying to attack Robin and Brook, but the flame stops them and then they attack Apoo and X Drake...

But they both stand up at the end, facing off against both of the CP0 on the loose... is this a hint that it will be CP0 vs. Drake and Apoo? I'm not sure how to feel about that... actually scratch that, if we do end up getting CP0 vs. these two I would admittedly be a little disappointed as I had hoped Brook would do something against them...

So that takes most of the chapter...

then we get to the good stuff.

Zoro fighting King.

All I can say initially is, Oda can't stop finding ways to beat nature and create new dinosaur moves... The things he got these dinosaurs doing...

I mean first we got Sasaki (flying six) with his helicopter move...

Queen and whatever this was:

And to complete the set we have King and him... pulling his face back? And shooting beam like shots that Zoro can't cut...

Now I just wonder what Oda will have Kaido do.

We move on! Zoro uses the great dragon twister to try and cut King,

but King ends up using his wings as protection and Zoro is unable to cut him. Here's where Twitter makes some interesting points... Zoro used this same attack against Kaido and ended up actually cutting him, but it seemingly has no effect on King. Some people have made several arguments:

1. Zoro being unable to cut King, is somehow connected to King being Lunarian (thick skin?)

Which explains why Zoro needed to know what King is and how he, for example, can keep the flames on his back alive even if it has nothing to do with his devil fruit...

..."if I don't know what he is"

To combat this many raised the point that it doesn't really make sense because Kaido's skin should be thicker and yet Zoro managed to cut him... and so they say that

2. Enma isn't lending Zoro enough strength

When Zoro cut Kaido he proclaimed that he was trying to bring out as much power from Enma as possible, and right now Enma might not be lending Zoro the power needed to cut King

This is what happens after the attack too...

Of course not a lot of people liked this idea, because they thought they were saying that Enma was "carrying" Zoro...

I think it has to do with both to be honest... There's no point in, well, making it a point that King is Lunarian and have Zoro question what he is in the first place unless you plan to make a big deal out of it (or just fuel the zoro-is-racist allegations 😂). However, I do think that Zoro needs to tap into Enma's powers more. This doesn't imply that Zoro is any lesser, or weaker, without Enma, but Enma is just a power that Zoro needs to control right now. If Zoro wasn't strong he wouldn't have been able to wield Enma in the first place. Now he needs to know how to really tap into Enma's full potential...

Another reason people bring up for Enma acting up now is that Enma sensed...

Coming back as Komurasaki to (hopefully!) trick Orochi and be the one to kill him (Remember she said: "I really wish I could kill Orochi with my own hands")

And I'm not sure,,, but I don't think there's a break next week... hopefully. probably. let's see.

One Piece Chapter 1035 (Seriously this time)

I haven’t written anything on the last few chapters, mostly because I tend to find fight chapters to be the least interesting types of chapters. (Yes, I’m aware this is a shonen, lol.) I did find a couple of things I enjoyed enough to comment on for this chapter, though.

So, I was wrong about the geisha being a plant, but I wasn’t wrong that Sanji didn’t end up being the one hitting her. And the end of the fight with Queen has a lovely moment that proves that Sanji will never have the heart of ice that he was worried about:

Rather than the fight, I’m obviously more interested in the insight we get into King, from his face (Oh no he’s hot)

to the brief flashback to Kaido recruiting him.

I can’t help but think of the parallels between Kaido recruiting King and Luffy recruiting Zoro. After all, Zoro was also a prisoner when Luffy found and freed him.

And we also get the parallel of Ryuma’s defeat of the dragon

with Zoro’s defeat of King.

I assume the next chapter will confirm King’s defeat, as this chapter did for Queen’s. Sanji went down after his fight, and I imagine Zoro’s magic mink medicine is about to wear out, too.

That means both top commanders are down, leaving Kaido vs. Luffy, Big Mom vs. Law and Kidd, Drake and Apoo vs. CP0, Yamato vs. the island exploding, Hiyori vs. Orochi, Momo vs. the island dropping on the Flower Capital, and the obvious main event: Raizo vs. Fukurokuju.

Chapter 1035 — Zoro vs. King

Things that go up must come down and I wonder where Queen’ll land.

I should probably start my Wano-reread: Sanji’s fight feels really rushed at the moment, and I wonder if it’ll make more sense when seen in context. Maybe it’s the jumping around? Looking from chapter 1030 until the present the pace has been intense: Law and Kid vs. Big Mom! Yamato! Robin and Brook! Sanji? Sanji+Zoro?? Yamato! Apoo! CP0! Flame monster! Zoro! King! Komurasaki!? Zoro and King for a whole chapter, with a slice of Sanji! Sanji! Zoro! Zoro!

I have since found a great compilation of Sanji and Zoro's fights and they do flow a bit better when read in order.

Sanji vs. Queen

Zoro vs. King

A lot of the focus has been on Zoro, which does take space away from Sanji, preventing a satisfying conclusion to his fight. Last chapter he was being thrown through walls and then he suddenly kicks Queen away? Inconceivable, however sturdy his exoskeleton might be.

But such a cute end-scene, nonetheless. Lovely callback to his less than lovely childhood and his eternal kindness.

And then: the reveal of the week! The unboxing of the year!

Hot damn, with emphasis on the “hot” and a half-whistle after “damn”.

I know “he’s so pretty” isn’t a good basis for any affection whatsoever, but I really can’t help it. Also: see amount of fanfic written for other handsome villains who cheerfully sacrifice their underlings for their own goals (Doffy).

What happened to logical consistency of placement? How did Zoro move from floor to roof without passing Go?

But who really cares, because LOOK AT THAT MOVEMENT. The clash sending both combatants spiralling, the raw force shuddering through Zoro’s sword.

Beauty in motion.

We have thematic parallels and then we have “let’s copypaste the first mate’s origin story panel for panel”.

But in all’s seriousness: a broken clock is right twice a day. Go Kaido for setting him free! I just wonder what Arber means? A short Google turn up…biologists, a Bavarian peak and a ski resort? We’ll have to wait and see.

Edit: I JUST REALIZED THAT THEY ARE ON PUNK HAZARD! IN THE BEFORE-TIMES! BEFORE AOKIJI AND AKAINU’S CLASH! Look, there’s a tree! And a PH-006 on the tower!

But I have to say: Oda’s ability to draw the same characters at different ages is something to behold. I have really enjoyed his “pirates at age 40/60” because he’s actually aged them, not just drawn a few crow’s feet and called it a day. Here you see that it’s Kaido and King, but approximately a million years younger.

And the World Government sound less and less sympathetic for each new reveal, don’t they? Slaves, selling kids into servitude, human experiments, bribery and corruption… they are gunning for all the classical villain-tropes, aren’t they?

Also: Who else thought of Wyper when they saw the close-ups of King?

Familial likeness, or am I just reaching?

Zoro is having a whole bunch of realisations this chapter, doesn’t he? From how King’s powers work to infusing your attack with Conqueror’s. Quick learner, that guy.

This whole page is so beautiful. The movement! The rapid thinking! The boot in the face! The “sacrificing my face to get a cut in”-attitude! The spinning Zoro!

Also: that has got to hurt. Poor King’s wings.

I give the chapter special mention for premium unboxing and a gold star for art.

Zoro VS Apoo | One Piece Chapter 997

Chapter title: Raizo.

- I know a lot of people were disappointed when they saw the chapter title because they wanted more of Luffy's fight (and a lot of you don't like Raizo either) but personally, I am happy we got more of Raizo because of how important he was for both the minks and the Scabbards.

Anyways-

Okay, I usually don't talk much about the cover story but this one was super interesting (and some of them do end up being canon or part of the story so!!)

A lot of people are debating who these two could ranging from the more predictable Germa 66 or even Blackbeard pirates - I'll join the prediction line of saying they (kind of?) look like revolutionary? I mean their shoes are definitely not Germa - so my first guess was the blackbeard piraates but the long coats and the silhouette is just giving me revolutionary and i don't know why so don't ask... I guess we'll see.

We start the chapter off with some Kaido vs. Luffy battle continuing, and Zunisha even saying/thinking (addressing it to Joy Boy): This all seems like fate. I can't help but think we should put our faith in this boy.

AND WE ALSO GET THE ICONIC, NEVER AGING, NEVER BORING SAYING

I AM MONKEY D. LUFFY, I WILL-

And!! Oda legit told everyone who's talking about reincarnation and whatnot to shut up, everyone debating whether or not this is really Luffy, he is Luffy, and this is his awakening--

Kaido: "We call this an awakening. Your mind and body are finally able to harness the potential of your ability" --->

and this just leaves us questioning; when is Kaido's awakening coming? Because surely he has to do it now...

And we get some more exchanges of blows, and it's always interesting to see how Luffy can bend and control himself and his surroundings now with the awakening... bending himself like this, and even bending Kaido's body when he's punching him to give more effect to the punch

AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE whenever we get those "they got me - i got them moments" - We got Kaido saying that everyone's gonna burn to death in the inferno below and Luffy just says

"I left it all to them, I've got nothing to worry about."

AND AGAIN- I just want to repeat that I LOVE this fight, it's just a blend of serious, and really really goofy and I love every part of it

Anyways... so currently everything is on fire in Onigashima. Bepo and crew are complaining about the heat - and just can we just take a moment to discuss how they've done... nothing? like they're yelling for Law to come and save them but they've seriously done nothing and to me, at this point, if Bepo were to ever go Sulong and do something it's more of a "finally" than a "wow" moment. yeah. we'll see.

We've got a little bit more of all of the crew, Nami and Chopper are together, Robin and Brook still running, Usopp trying everything he can to stop the fire to save Kiku and Kinemon, and

Sanji with his cute little rat Chuuji

And Franky carrying passed out Zoro who needs urgent care from Chopper (😭😭😭😭😭😭)

ALSO!! We get shown Apoo and Ibi again, and remember we said they could be the samurai prisoners imprisoned with Yamato in the past? That theory still holds up, because why else show them this much...

The connection has to be coming...

And then we finally get to the man of the hour, Raizo!!

The fire is everywhere, no one can escape it and people are going crazy - that's when Oda gives Raizo the opportunity to save everybody on Onigashima, and repay the debt of everyone saving and protecting him -

He teams up with Jinbe to put an end to the fire - and because he has the Maki Maki fruit (scroll scroll) he has the ability to store things and what did he store? The water that Zunisha uses to wash it's back - So he uses Elephant Bath Restoration and paired with Jinbe's Ocean Current Should Throw they manage to send the water flooding everywhere to put out the fire.

Despite my Ninjutsu, I was unable to protect any of them. I can never make up for that failure, but I will never let myself be that helpless again!! Never!!

And now we know that the preparation undertaken in chapter 1041 that Raizo was speaking of has nothing to do with Denjiro, which leaves the question - where the hell is Denjiro?

PS. Can we also talk about how this means that Raizo has had water on hand for this long and refused to save himself from the fire during his fight? He's extremely strong, and extremely underappreciated.

We know Momonosuke still has to create flame clouds, so we're waiting on that, I still hold on the hopes and dreams that Zoro will get up and we'll get answers on whatever happens to the Grim Reaper-

We know Kaido is at his limit now, so predicting the fight will officially end in about 4-5 chapters- when will we get awakening though? Hm.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

WE GET THIS RANDOM PANEL OF LUFFY HOLDING ON TO A LIGHTNING BOLT? TO STRIKE KAIDO WITH???? HE IS SO COOL

And could this mean we could potentially get a Nami-Luffy Combo someday`?

One Piece Chapter 1023 - Initial Thoughts

15 Minutes is on the clock

Onigashima reaches the mainland and the fights continue on. Including the Wings of the King vs the Disasters of the Beast

Without further ado, let's get into it

Spoilers for Chapter 1023, Support the Official Release too

Vivi cover page is nice, proper Disney Princess action with Karoo being jealous birb again, but now I have worries because last we heard something went down with Alabasta...all those post-Reverie questions

Back to where we left off with the boys being back in town

Miyagi can you not ominously foreshadow Zoro's future pain please?

Kawamatsu's here to save Zoro from interference, and Hyou's telling the Yakuza not to get in the way of this fight

Marco though is a pensive Pineapple, taking a good long look at King as he recalls Whitebeard telling him about King's race living on the Red Line before the world nobles, Void Century and before stuff

Mention of Gods does fuel one of my old post fan theories, but also fuels that the WG kicked King's race out of the Red Line

Izo though out here saving Marco from being an easy target, tbh Marineford did show he was prone to a surprise attack

Asking Izo if they believe in God though in a raid that may lead to their deaths is kinda irreverent right now though huh?

Queen back to hyping themselves up though

Hm? Is there a limitation to Sanji's raid suit? Sanji's saying he feels weird

Zoro wasting no time to banter with it though, saving Sanji from King as Sanji returns the favour with Queen

Queen does make a valid point though, as much as Sanji expresses that he is unenhanced by Germa he can also set himself on fire, I do wonder if it is just part of that enhancement in there that he expresses as his 'fiery hot passion'

Lunarian though, that must be King's species' name: moon people again I bet which feeds my fan theories

Also since we mentioned Germa again what happened to them? Jimbei made it out after all and I wanna see me some alive and well Baeju

I would issue doubt on Queen's claim that their enhancements are beyond Vegapunk's, given how little we know of Vegapunk after all

King's got a special sword too, it can change its edge to be teethy which he used to ensnare Zoro's swords

Wado saves Zoro's face from eating King's spiked fist though

King does make a fair point though, traditional weapons are romanticized but a fight's about getting every advantage you can, Zoro at least respects that since King never claimed to be a Swordsman, while also reminding King that he could be a feral bastard too

Kinda gave me mini Mr. 1 fight vibes there

Oh here we go, potential Zoro lineage time

Kawamatsu and Hyou muse over how Zoro was like Ushimaru when he was young, even down to his style (though that could be more Shimotsuki Koushiro's doing since he's Zoro's master)

Also Ushimaru was Ryuma's direct descendant, which means that 1. Ryuma banged, 2. Swordsmanship runs in the blood and 3. Ryuma banged

Also Ryuma also had the one eye, and it does seem pretty mythical that a swordsman of similar skill and stature returns Shusui back to Wano (even though this should mean that Shusui would be Zoro's birthright and he was kinda forced into relinquishing it)

Also worth reminding that Kozaburo was Kuina's grandpa so there may only be loose relations if Zoro is a Shimotsuki too, we don't exactly know how Kozaburo and Ushimaru are related if it's by blood or clan, plus I still wonder about Tashigi

Over to Jack vs Inu though, and Jack's hybrid form is just...weird

I did not need to see an Elephant head with abs you know Oda!

Both are pretty tired, as Jack mocks Inu saying he has forgiven Zou for the Raizo stuff, since he already destroyed most of it

Inu though with the shoulder toss, reminding Jack that they had to make these sacrifices to get to here

But we're getting the epic speech, and the hole in the roof caused by Ashura's sacrifice is changing Inu back into Su Long

Same thing is happening with Neko, turning Su Long in front of Carrot and Wanda (who I guess are covering from the moon) as he stares down Perospero

And I'm glad Neko's pointing out that Pedro's sacrifice is valid. I truthfully always felt a bit iffy about people saying that Carrot's desire to avenge Pedro was ill-found because 'Pedro killed himself'. Had Pedro not sacrificed himself then Brook and Chopper would've been dead by candy and Big Mom would've obliterated the rest on the ship

Raizo and Megaforehead though prelude with the mention of maturity, that everyone - even the Akazaya - needed time to mature into who they wanted to be

Down to the surface though and the Heart Pirates are on high alert/panic, they think Kaido's here

But it's Momo, and he looks magnificent

Shinobu's aged him up to 28, the age he'd be had he not been leapt through time, but now she's upset he looks like Kaido

There's new fire in Momo's eyes though, the return ascent begins!

Can you feel that? It feels like the last stretch before the ultimate battle of Wano

Sanji and Zoro vs King and Queen hopefully will remain a tag bout, but I am curious as to King's abilities and what's affecting Sanji in terms of the raid suit. It's not bad to have a limitation but this is the first we've heard of it after seeing him use it 4 times. I don't hate Zoro being a Shimotsuki, though I do feel like we could've built to this, plus we're still lacking in the how.

One wonders what role Marco will now play, and whether Tiny Tiny Chopper is due to recover. We haven't heard from the others for a bit, nor CP0 nor Yamato. Our Pineapple does have unfinished business with Edward Weevil tbf so he could make it out, Izo may be a variable in that, they've yet to learn of Kiku's fate.

Also we never did see who that mystery person was did we? Still could be Hiyori

Marco's musing about gods does feel like we're gonna get more about King, and more lore of the world that Robin will love to soak up like a sponge, Oda have been leaving these seeds since Skypeia, and where there are Gods, there are Devils.

We are however getting major death flags from the minks, one last turn to Su Long to enable their efforts. I like how Ashura's sacrifice is not in vain because of this though, it makes me wonder if there's a slither of hope for Kin and Kiku. If anything though the minks will die from exhaustion rather than being defeated, Su Long eats away at you after all, it's probably gonna be traumatizing for Carrot a little but I hope we see some resolve out of her more like when she was in Zou and WCI, I still want her for Nakama.

And then the final coup de grace, giant dragon Momo, it's one hell of a panel and it means we're bringing Luffy back into the fight. But the extent of Momo's ripening is only in body remember, in mind he's still young. But now we have the setup for the final fight between Luffy and Kaido, I'll expect in that time we'll have to try and finish off everything else with the Akazaya, reconvening the Straw Hats, King, Queen, Big Mom, Kid, Law, Killer, Hawkins, Apoo and Drake.

Act's not over yet, less than 15 minutes until Onigashima Falls.

Marco vs Big Mom is the fight I didn't know I needed but I did, i really did. He knows Big Mom is a real threat, a deadly one, they've fight in the past and I wanna see that. Marco is such a little shit, i n s p i r a t i o n a l.

Marco isn't afraid at all, is it because he's like wolverine. Love my girls. Marco looks a bit like Lupin, like his mannerisms. Anyway, I love you, pineapple man.
