Hi! Of course I can. Though sorry it took long. I just got back from vacation and wasn't able to sit in front of my laptop to write something asap. But here it is!

24 Hours

“Why are you still awake?”

Nami looked up from what she’s reading. A groggy-looking and disheveled Zoro was standing by the bedroom doorway, yawning and scratching the back of his head in what she knows could only be called slight annoyance.

She pursed her lips at that. He always looks displeased when his sleep (or nap) is disturbed. Not that she had anything to do with that right now. She was innocently curled up in the couch, trying to tire her eyes with a bit of reading so she could finally doze off, no thanks to that large coffee she had stupidly downed after dinner.

But looks like her plan backfired and instead, she spent the hours after midnight totally absorbed in her book with sleep unfortunately nowhere within her reach.

“I’m reading,” Nami took her time answering, turning a page from her book slowly as she watched him made his way to her with a grouchy look on his face. She chose to focus on the tight abs on display (thank Kami Zoro loves to sleep with just his pajama pants on, it’s always a delight to look at them) as he approached instead on the expression on his face which clearly says he’s not happy with either his sleep getting disturbed or her not on bed with him or both.

“Why are you awake?” She threw the same question at him, just as he plopped himself down beside her.

Zoro shrugged. “Was wondering why I’m not being kicked awake and figured you’re still not in bed.”

She glared at him for that comment. “I don’t kick you when I’m asleep!”

“Yeah you do,” he smirked as he leaned his head on the back of the couch. “You’re not exactly a peaceful sleepe. You toss, turn, kick and sometimes punch a lot.”

Nami stared at him in aghast. She’s so not like that! She always wakes up in the same position as she had been sleeping in night before!

Okay… she always wake up in the same position but with her stupid boyfriend’s arms wrapped around her.

She should’ve known that it was not because he was cuddling her. It was because he was restraining her!

This time she did kick him. Deliberately. A sort of retaliation from the realization that he wasn’t being romantic at all.

She only got a snort from him as he grabbed her ankle and settled her leg across his lap.

“Go back to sleep Zoro.” She huffed irritably when she saw him closed his eye and settled more comfortably on the couch.

“Hnnn…”

She nudged his thigh with her free feet. “Just go now. I’ll follow in a few minutes.”

Sleepy as he may… he was still able to counter her with a drawl.

“Few minutes more is morning already.”

“News flash genius, it’s already morning. It’s 4 am!” She rolled her eyes and tried to get back at the line she was previously reading. “The sun’s just not up yet.”

Zoro yawned and lightly slapped her feet. “All the more reason to go and sleep on the bed.”

She peered at him from her book. His eye was still close and from the relaxed way he was breathing he will be asleep in a matter of seconds while sitting on the couch and holding onto her leg.

“Hmmm…” she grinned cheekily as she closed her book, resting her head against the couch as well. “Why so insistent to get me on bed Zoro? Afraid to sleep alone?”

Zoro was immediately awake at that and his head snapped towards her. It was his turn to glare at her as she chortled.

“Fine then,” he growled as he stood up, letting her leg fall off his lap. “If you don’t want to sleep, I’ll go ahead.”

Nami cackled at his reaction, loving how it was so easy to push his buttons. “I’ll join you in a few, oyasumi!” She waved and blew him a kiss as he stalked back towards their bedroom, muttering under his breath.

She settled back on the couch and opened her book again. He’ll be up in an hour for his early morning run. She’ll take it as her cue to finally hit the sack since she doesn’t have any work that day.

Nami wasn’t even past a minute in her book when Zoro came charging back from the bedroom.

“Zoro?”

He didn’t say a word. Not one. He grabbed her book and threw it aside before scooping her up in his arms.

“Hey!”

“Shut up.” He finally said before carrying her towards their room and slamming the door shut.

your dice all look so cool!! i'm curious what your process for making them is like?

Thanks! The process is lengthy and tedious 😅 I try and plan/think about the set I want to make before hand, and lay out my materials. I guess it depends on if it's a straight pour or I'm using dice blanks. If it's blanks, I have a small blank dice mold that are the numberless dice that fit into the larger dice later that I have to make first. Then I have to mix a 2 part epoxy resin (after I put on my gloves and mask of course). I pour that out into small cups and add any colouring that I need for those. Then the pouring process begins with any design that I'm aiming for, whether it's pouring blanks or blanks and also a proper dice set. Either way, all of the resin-filled dice molds go in a pressure pot for 24 hours while they cure/have bubbles pressed out of them. After 24 hours I open the chamber and pray everything turned out fine. If so - I have to leave them for another 24 hours to fully cure, as they're still slightly malleable in this state. If I'm designing blanks, especially if I'm putting texture/paint on there, then I carefully either paint the dice blanks or put on a texture (usually a tape of some kind). That's a pretty tedious procedure, especially for cutting excess tape from every side of every die. Afterwards the dice blanks go into my main dice molds with resin and back into the pressure chamber.

From THERE, it's time to sand, polish, and ink. I have a 6 stage sand/polish method with grits of sand paper and zona paper ranging from 1000 grit to 15000~ 'grit' (white zona paper).

Afterwards I ink the dice, which is another hour or so. Then once the ink dries, I go back and polish the set again to get the dice nice and shiny on a mini pottery wheel I've set with more zona paper and polishing compound. After that I wipe off any excess polish compound and the set is done!

Not counting the waiting time, each set of dice takes about 8~ hours from start to finish to complete, hence why handmade dice are generally more expensive (and of higher quality) than like... chessex or whatever.

Hope that explanation makes sense! I'm always happy to talk about the process, as it's lengthy and complex.

SCHEDULE

Buses operate 24 hours a day.

Subways run from 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM on weekdays. On Saturdays, services begin at 6:30 AM and end at 11:30 PM. Sundays have a schedule from 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM. Please note that schedules may vary depending on the subway line or ongoing construction works.

Trains have a schedule starting at 4:30 AM and concluding at 10:30 PM. Train schedules may be subject to change based on the specific line.

Day 24. 7.31.23

Rock climbing at Zona De Bloque 

To rent shoes and for 2 hours it’s about $8 

No class just free climb -left to my own devices. Wish I had guidance- had climbed a few times before in Brooklyn with friends using their guest passes and with their pointers. Enjoyed the kinesthetic negotiations and problem solving-I enjoy watching others move their bodies and cling and scale across colored knobs and blobs. The gym is playing hip hop and rap (mostly American music)  

Again -I am confronted with a sort of syntax and grammar but for the body to negotiate.I choose blue-beginner but still hard -I’m afraid of heights and of tweaking my back. The patterns of these different colored forms jutting out of the wall. I push myself and try different walls or sides around the gym but always stick to blue and get pretty high up-when I leave my arms are sore. Need to work on upper body strengthening. I probably should have stretched before beginning to climb like everyone else at the gym. HA.

In the afternoon, I go to Tipo, Lito, Calavera, Histories Del Diseno Grafico enn Colombia at Casa Republicanna de la Biblioteca Luis Anngel Arango–one of the first exhibitions to record the history of typography in Colombia during the 20th cen. Like so many of the museums here, the exhibition is in the Candelaria area. The exhibition had an amazing layout and display-album covers, books, advertisements, logos, comics, journals, political and social works.

In a vaulted room there's a small projected film playing , the color is gorgeous-it was filmed in the 60’s Bogota Blues —a take on an American in Paris to Rhapsody Blues by George Gershwin. I found the footage masterfully edited together, playing with shifts in camera speed and direction -buildings moving up and down for transitions between subjects–everything is organized in categories but still maintains a sort of chaos and mess of city life and beats and fun to sit next to two Bogota women as they watched in delight and pointed out different neighborhoods etc–see how the city looked in the 60’s –1963.

Various montages like cuts between people walking in the rain, running, reacting to the rain with their umbrellas or the domes and spires of churches and cathedrals or the city all light up at night , the neon signs, dogs wandering around roaming, the city at sunset and sunrise. Thought of what I would film or patterns I have noticed:

Uniforms -so many different ones 

Trash piles and trash pickers -picked trash 

Animals asleep in Windows 

Fruit/food vendors on the street 

Motorcycles at green lights like insects buzzing by 

The people on the bus selling snacks and various objects like headphones and sparkling hair clips 

Interesting to connect back to the Typography and graphic designs in all the printed works. Makes me want to study Gestalt psychology and rules of visual perception and patterns of the eye/mind. Accumulation of likeness. Can you find patterns in chaos? If you focus on a category and collect data of footage, maybe a type of sense or likeness starts to emerge? Everything is a Construction but we need structure and systems to function-which ones are culturally specific? Which ones transcend borders / boundaries?

In the Evenning I go to Meditation at the Bogota Buddhist Center

The center is being renovated (I went to the center’s address on Thursday and it was closed) so it’s taking place in the community room of one of the members apartments -I arrive early and the doorman/security guard sends me up to the 5th floor, it is the apartment of the mother of the women who is hosting, they are both so warm and welcoming and invite me in and she explains she is undergoing treatment-chemotherapy but almost done, that’s why she’s wearing a mask–but not to worry or feel bad for her because she is ok and feels good and I want to imagine the meditation must be a big part of that? I help bring down mats and other supplies we need for the meditation. I ask how she found her way to the practice.

She was working in Medelln (gods heart?) with children and a family that was stressful and she was smoking at the time and but couldn’t because of the job and wanted to quite, and a friend suggested meditation, she took to it, then when she moved to Bogota found this center. We set up and Juan -arrived leads the meditation and graciously translates the whole lecture / meditation for me -but the others assure me that it’s good practice for him (he agrees) because he's about to go on tour in Europe and lead sessions in English. All 7 members of the group, friends are warm and charismatic and good natured, so welcoming, open, and curious. It all feels so intimate and makeshift and I am curious to go to the center in nyc (by Empire State Building) they have 600 around the world . 

The meditation opens with a lecture that goes something like: We are shaped by are perceptions. If we have a happy disposition we will experience the world positively, if we are depressed and have hard feelings/outlook -circumstances, we might experience the world badly

The practice helps us be objective, remove ourselves from our feelings -feelings are impermanent.These are the teaching from a Tibetan teacher (Nepal) who trained a man and his wife from Holland / who now live in Bovaria, Germany and have a center and have trained Juan.

The lecture continues: It’s about experience moving from head and intellect to heart and experience so that you can connect with others -not about self, about others!!! 

The container stays the same -the contents are impermanent. 

Guided meditation with chanting dispersed that I loved at one point repeating two words the room was filled with whispers and humming and vibrating and it sounded wild but felt so focused

Red light in throat that connects with the sea

Blue light in heart that connects with the sea 

Black light ? form disintegrates 

All that is left is shining light, energy, joy, radiating outward. 

After a stayed a little longer to chat with some of the younger members, Isabella and her partner joined 2016-17 they were both raised Catholic, had questions that weren’t answered or addressed-took a course in school that exposed them to meditation, discovered this center in Bogota. They stressed the importance of questioning–do you feel something from it–does it resonate with you? It is important to ask yourself these questions, becomes so personal.

24 Hours

This is for @mina175. Hope you like it! I am honestly enjoying this 24 hours prompt request. It’s fun to come up with ZoNa scenarios for every random time.

And this is officially my 100th ZoNa write-up! Yay!!! Thank you guys who still read my works! You’ve been wonderful and extremely supportive.

“And I win.”

That statement was followed by a loud thud of a glass beer mug against the pub table, along with the appearance of a smug smirk across the pretty face of an orange-haired woman.

The man sitting across her almost choked on his drink. He didn’t bother finishing it and set his own glass down the table, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand as he stared at the woman before him incredulously. All his manly confidence and pride from earlier (when he was trying to hit on her) was gone.

Nami then held out her hand, a silent demand for him to pay up after losing their drinking bet.

There were jeers and hoots coming from the guy’s friends (and some other bar customers who had known what took place). Though the guy was sport enough to hand over the bills he owed to Nami’s waiting hand.

“Domo,” Nami winked at him and smiled before sliding out of the bar stool, tucking her winnings inside the pocket of her jeans. She headed towards another table where a guy was waiting for her.

She sat herself on the stool and cheekily said, “And that’s how it’s done Usopp.”

“A-mazing!” Usopp mouthed admiringly even as he was still looking over the area where the guy was sulking amidst the taunting of his friends.

“Indeed I am,” Nami grinned, flipping her hair over her shoulder.

Usopp turned his attention to her and gaped. “How high is your tolerance?”

“High enough to walk out of here with both our wallets full.”

“You just might be my newest favorite drinking buddy.”

“Newest?” Nami raised an eyebrow at him as she reached for previously abandoned beer bottle. “Who’s the old one?”

“Mmm… Zoro.” Usopp answered with a sly smile.

“Zoro?”

“Yeah.”

Nami frowned slightly. She had seen that man drink of course. He does it every damn time back at their apartment. After three, four bottles of beer… he is out like a light. Even Usopp looks like he can outdrink him.

“Are you sure we’re talking about the same Zoro?” She inquired doubtfully. “Tall, green-haired idiot who always get lost Zoro?”

Usopp laughed and nodded. “Yeah that one!”

Nami crossed her arms over her chest. “Really? Doesn’t look like he has a high tolerance you know.”

Her companion paused, right in the middle of taking a swig of beer from his own bottle.

“Huh?” Usopp blinked at her curiously, his brows furrowing as he studied her. “Have you seen him drink Nami?”

She answered him with a roll of her eyes. “Duh, he’s always drinking whenever I see him. After four bottles he’s like dead to the world or something.”

Usopp just continued staring at her, looking like he was contemplating about saying something.

“Hey,” a sudden, unfamiliar voice suddenly cut through their conversation.

Both turned to look at the speaker. Usopp’s eyes widened while Nami remained calmed as she eyed the newcomer.

“Saw you drink that guy under the table,” a rather large, gangster-looking man was standing near them, with a cocky smirk on his face, one thumb gesturing back to where the guy that Nami outdrank earlier was standing.

Nami glanced at Usopp and noted how he nervously shifted in his seat, trying his damnedest to avoid eye contact. She had been warned that there are unpleasant people around the area, but she didn’t expect she would run into them this early.

“What about it?” She muttered curtly as she shifted her gaze away from him and focused on her beer instead, purposely conveying that she had no interest in whatever it is that he wanted with her.

“Thought I could interest you in another game,” the man said as he placed a drink on the table.

Nami eyed it warily. U-boot huh?

Looks like this guy is dead serious.

She can already sense trouble brewing and she sent Usopp a quick glance and saw him swallowed an imaginary large lump in his throat.

Great. From the looks of it… it’s gonna be a one-sided battle. She already know Usopp’s alcohol tolerance is almost non-existent. He’s still nursing the same drink he had ordered when they first arrive in the place.

“Sorry, I’m not interested,” Nami said nonchalantly. “You see my friend and I are about to head out. We still have an early day tomorrow. Right?” She quirked a smile at the now sweating profusely Usopp.

“Eerr… right.”

The man chuckled. “Seems like I’m not making myself clear.” He smirked at Nami. “I’m not letting a pretty thing like you get off the hook that easily.” He motioned with his finger and Nami saw that this guy had some of his tough-looking friends casually lingering everywhere in the bar… some were already standing guard along the exit.

The smile on the man’s face widened when he realized that Nami understood what he meant. And that there is no way she’s getting out of this bar without him.

Nami glared at him. This troublesome man not only meant to take all her money tonight.

She gazed at the drink he had generously set on their table. She may have a high alcohol tolerance but that doesn’t mean she’s limitless.

And this drink is meant to make her pass out before the night is even over. This damn guy sure knows how to do it.

The man leered when he saw the look of resignation on Nami’s face. Either she plays with him or they will forcefully drag her out the bar with them. The long-nosed guy with her ain’t no match for him and his crew. They will pulverize him if he tries to stop them.

And he knows that there’s no one in this bar that will try as well. They are known to be notorious around town after all.

“You can actually let your friend help you, you know,” he offered, his tone mocking as he laughed at Usopp’s direction as he pushed the glass neared to Nami. “Consider it my handicap.”

“Oh good,” a lazy voice drawled from behind Nami and she could swear she heard Usopp gave a squeak of excitement.

The next thing she knew, an arm went past her shoulder and made a grab for the U-boot. Nami would bet every money in her person right now that her expression mirrored exactly the one in the troublesome guy’s face.

Zoro was standing behind her, downing the drink in one gulp like he was just casually drinking water to quench his thirst. When he was done, he slammed the glass down the table hard enough that it nearly tipped it over.

Nami could feel how close Zoro was, her back was touching the hard surface of what she was sure was his abs. He was leaning over her, still holding the glass mug, that he had practically enclosed her in his person.

Her skin prickled all over.

Her eyes met Usopp’s and he looked like he was about to cry from too much relief any moment now.

The she tilted her head to glance at Zoro again.

He was looking at the man with a scary smile on his face and an equally scary look in his eye.

“Let’s start with me before you get to her, shall we?” He drawled.

how do you make your own five?

ok so! buckle up i'm about to go way more into detail than anyone wanted probably lmao

u can either make your own molds out of silicone or buy molds

i personally have yet to make my own molds i just buy mine from werpydice on etsy lol they make v good molds and also have kits that include sanding paper and syringes

rybonator on youtube makes v useful tutorials for dice making- here's his video on how to do sprue molds

sprue molds require more work than cap molds (trimming and sanding the sprue aka the extra bit of resin from where u poured into the mold) but are more user friendly for beginners than cap molds imo

cap molds have less clean up but are more prone to bubbles

from resin you'll either want to use uv or epoxy resin

for starting out, i personally recommend uv. i've had wayyyy less issues w bubbles w uv resin and it is just much much faster (takes about 10 minutes to set, depending on the strength of your uv light instead of 24 to 48 hours for epoxy resin)

if u go the epoxy route you'll get better results much easier with a pressure pot but pressure pots are expensive and just kind of a Lot so that's part of why i recommend trying uv first before u fully invest in dice making

for this ask i will just be referring to uv resin bc that's what i am more familiar w

w uv resin u just need a uv light (like the kind u use for nails) and translucent molds- if u have opaque mold the light can't get through

for pigments i recommend mica powder or eyeshadow

just be sure not too add too much pigment or bubbles will be more likely (and if you're doing uv if there's too much pigment the uv light won't be able to get through to set the resin properly)

anyway here are the steps to make dice

heat up a measuring cup of water in the microwave

put the bottle of resin in a plastic bag, then put the bag in the cup of water to warm it up (the resin being warm helps w bubbles)

pour the resin in a silicone or plastic cup w pigments and/or glitter and stir slowly (i use a toothpick to stir but it's better to use something metal)

either pour or inject the resin depending on the size of the hole of your mold and how precise u want to be

pop any bubbles u can see in the resin w your toothpick

put the mold under the uv light until resin is hardened

carefully remove your dice from the mold

remove the sprue with a sprue cutter/xacto knife

sand down the sprue with zona polishing papers/micromesh pads/high grit sandpaper

polish w flitz/plastx/your polishing liquid or paste of choice

i personally prefer to ink w gel pens- specifically sakura gelly roll metallics gel pens lol they go on super smoothly and stay on way better than i expected from gel pens

i don't handle my dice a ton tho so if u handle them a lot u might want to use acrylic paint/paint used for miniatures

it's more time consuming and messy than gel pens but is probably better for longevity

but yeah that's basically it! the only other important thing of note i can think of is to wear a respirator and gloves

whether u use uv or epoxy the fumes are not good for your lungs which would be especially bad rn w the coronavirus affecting your respiratory system

and gloves are especially important for epoxy neither are good for your skin or easy to get off but epoxy is super super hard to get off so! wear gloves either way lol
