The zombie apocalypse was something no one was prepared for. No matter how many movies people watched or how much of a survivalist they were, no one was prepared. So it's a wonder how Cronus and Kankri survived this long. Maybe they just happened to be lucky? No, that can't be a possibility. If the two were lucky, they would have been happy before all this. They could have saved the friends they lost when it started. They could have convinced Mituna not to sacrifice himself, and Latula not to go back for him, and stopped Porrim from look for that crying kid, and convince Damara to not storm off after finding Horuss and Rufioh sharing a bedroll in the morning, and force those two not to stay behind out of guilt to wait for her, and maybe they could have stopped Kurloz getting bit and turning Meulin, or stopped Meenah from running into a horde in some cool hero act, and stopped Aranea from trying to drag her out. So no, the two left from the group of twelve were not lucky. But at least they had each other, right? The two most annoying and selfish of the bunch, stuck together and barely surving. This was unlucky. But they still want to live, after everything, they want to keep going. So they keep moving.

"Kan, there's a radio station ahead. Should we go there for the night?" Cronus elbows the other, who's scanning the roads intently, "Oh, uh, sure. Maybe survivors will be using it to communicate and we can find a settlement." Cronus nods and takes Kankri's bag, "You cover us. Let's go." They run silently down the street, narrowly avoiding the detection of a zombie in an alley. The doors to the radio station are locked, but Cronus thankfully manages to pick it. Once inside, Kankri scouts the area. "It's all clear." "Good," Cronus nods, "Let's go check the frequencies." They find a console and flip through dead channels, before finding one working one, repeating a message.

"HELLO. THIS IS DIRK STRIDER OF THE ALPHA OUTPOST. HUMAN SETTLEMENT HAS FORMED IN THE SBURB APARTMENT COMPLEX. WE HAVE FOOD AND WATER."

Cronus smiles and Kankri starts crying. Finally, a safe place. Somewhere they can go. Kankri hugs Cronus and they sink to the floor. "We can go tomorrow. For now, we should sleep." Kankri nods and Cronus, words, and they lay down an open sleeping bag, then drag the other on top, holding each other. They don't know when this started, the cuddling, but it's the warmest and most mentally stabilizing option. At keast, that's what they kept telling themselves. But night after night of falling alseep in someones arms and being comforted by them when you wake up in tears... feelings happen. They never had time to address it but... maybe they finally can.

In the morning, they set out again. A horde had passed, but luckily it was in the opposite way they had to go. Kankri lead the way, having lived with his brother and father in Sburb Apartments before moving to college. Maybe they were still alive.

They managed to get there just as night fell. The doors were guarded by two very muscley women, one with long needles and the other with a chainsaw. "We heard the radio message. Neither of us have been bitten, can we go in? The one holding needles looks them up and down. "I'll take them in Kanaya." She leads them into the apartments and to a very clean room. "Jane, we've got survivors." Another woman, equally muscley but also chubby, comes out from behind a cabinet. "Oh goodness me, look at you two!" Needle lady leaves and the two are left clutching each others hands. "I need you two to strip so I can check for injuries. Will that be an issue at all?" Kankri elbows Cronus before he can say anything, "Not at all. Underwear too?" Jane shakes her head, "Only if you're comfortable." She leaves and the two strip down. She comes back with fresh clothes and looks them over. "Well, you two seem to be fine. Find Dave, he'll show you to an apartment. Or two, of you would rather stay apart." "No, together is fine," Cronus says, surprising Kankri. They dress in their dirty clothes again and leave the infirmary(?). A high schooler with a bunch of scars and a lair of shades two doors down stops them, "So, you two are new survivors?" Kankri nods at presumably Dave's question. "Woah, you look just like... Is your last name Vantas?" Kankri's eyes widen, "Yes! Is my brother here? My father?" Dave takes off his shades. "Karkat is here, but... your dad... he went out to find others and hasn't been back." Kankri's eyes fill with tears and Cronus pulls him into a tight hug. Dave hands him a room key, "I'll swing by with Karkat later." Cronus nods and Dave leaves.

Cronus gets Kankri into the room, "We should shower... You can go first." Kankri clutches onto him, "No, don't leave." Cronus lets out a sigh of relief. He didn't want to be left alone either. "Let's shower together then." They strip once more, leaving the clean clothes on the sink. Cronus washes Kankri's hair as Kankri fiddles with Cronus' purple streak. It's so faded now. "Y'know... You didn't have to elbow me, in the infirmary." Kankri stops. "What do you mean? A girl was asking you to strip for her, I was not going to let you embarrass her." Cronus lets out a dry laugh. "I don't think I have it in me to do that stuff any more. And... even if I did... Kankri I think I love you." A long pause, and then Kankri smiles. "You know what Cronus? I think I might love you too."

This is my first time sending a request so sorry is this doesn't fit/abide by the rules. So Zombiestuck au. Who do you think would live or die? How do you think it would play out?

Ok I have no idea how zombie stuff works (since like the only things with zombies I came across was a webcomic) so sorry but I really have no idea what people do and how it works?

Zombiestuck

Beta kids

The beta kids stick together no matter what. They have a base where they spend most of their time.

It is protected by Jade who has her sniping spot where she gets all the zombies who try to get in even though their base is allways well locked its no better to be safe than sorry.

The rest is just improving the base from the inside. However when it's clear from zombies John and Dave are setting outside traps.

Jade is also trying to plant food and is taking really good care of it.

But of course they sometimes need to go out for supplies and they allways go as a group.

They actually avoid fighting if possible while they are out since they can't be sure how many zombies are out there.

When they see other people they try to help them in any way they can. Since it's only human to help others in such tough times.

But those terrible conditions don't stop them from goofing around in their base. After all it's easier to keep your sanity if you have fun from time to time.

In the end they all survive and save few people from other groups too.

Alpha kids

Dirk managed to make few robots that were protecting their base but the base itself wasn't in perfect conditions (and Dirk tried to fix that) still the robots never let any zombie inside.

Jane also tried to set many traps around just in case and so far it was enough to keep everything away.

Jake and Roxy are taking care of gardening and wich was the most reliable food source. But they still needed to go out for other supplies from time to time.

Dirk mostly volunteered to go alone but Jake allways went with him or whoever decided to go.

They took this a bit too seriously and so the atmosphere in their base was a bit awkward expecially when Jake or Roxy tried to light up the mood.

In the end they all survived but they didn't let their guard down.

Beta trolls

They weren't doing very good job. While their base was well equipped and had very good defense they couldn't cooperate well. Karkat tried to be a good leader and keep everything together but things started collapsing quickly.

Vriska often left the base without notifying anyone. She allways came back with more supplies.

But her reckless behavior often brought zombies to the base and so Eridan had to take care of it since she allways brought the zombies to area of the base Eridan was defending.

Nepeta and Equius were Frontline fighters and so when a bigger group of zombies approach they actually risk a lot.

Feferi tried to cheer others up while taking care of any injuries. But of course the zombie bites.

Nobody knew what Gamzee Terezi and Aradia were doing to be honest and even if someone asked them none of them gave proper answer.

Sollux was doing a lot of things at once. He was defending helping Karkat with making decisions and tried to contact other people. But even though he was doing all that if anyone complained about a thing he whould just be stop out of spite.

Kanaya was also doing most of the work but she actually did everything without thinking too much about it.

And Tavros just felt useless... He tried to help around but he actually didn't do much but set up few traps around.

One day he did that he got caught off guard but Aradia reacted in time and managed to save him. However few minutes later Aradia noticed a bite mark and knew that she was fucked.

So she asked to be killed. She observed people around and knew what happened after such bite so it whould be for the better if she died now.

Nobody wanted to kill her but in the end Karkat was the one to be forced to do it.

After this incident Tavros couldn't belive that it was his fault and Vriska being a total bitch wasn't helping either.

Feferi Nepeta and Gamzee tried to help Tavros but he just couldn't listen to it. He knew that it was his fault Aradia died.

But after Sollux yelled at him Tavros managed to get himself together.

Next loss was Feferi who tried to help Eridan with bigger group of zombies Vriska yet again unintentionally brought.

After that Eridan was so mad he tried to kill Vriska at least 3 times. But he was stopped each time by Kanaya.

So he just decided to leave on his own and nobody knew what happened to him.

Next thing that happened was Vriska was getting ready to leave just like Eridan did but she was followed by Terezi their fates were also unknown. 

For some time they were doing pretty well but it couldn't last for long since yet again another person was killed... This time it was Nepeta.

Her and Equius were guarding the base outside and they were doing great job holding all the zombies off but she got bitten by one zombie she thought she took down.

At first she didn't notice that but when no zombie was around Nepeta just then looked at her leg that had a bite mark on it.

She panicked when she saw it and she knew what it meant. So she didn't keep it a secret and just told Equius about it.

He blamed himself for this and as she begged him to kill her he couldn't do it. So Gamzee did it instead.

After that Equius was even more brutal towards the undead and he destroyed any threat not carrying if he lives or dies.

He actually survived and never got bitten becouse he hit so strong and so fast that even if more than 10 zombies attacked him at once he still whould get out of the situation unscathed.

So in the end Sollux, Tavros, Karkat, Kanaya, Equius and Gamzee survived. Aradia, Feferi and Nepeta died. Eridan, Vriska and Terezi were separated from the group and were nowhere to be found.

Dancestors

They couldn't do anything right everything was in chaos and the only ones that seemed to care were Rufioh Aranea Porrim and Kankri.

Meenah was bearly ever seen in the group and she was just constantly exploring. So nobody whould even notice if she died. But she did say that she was going to join someone else instead and since then nobody heard from her.

Aranea sometimes hoped that she whould see Meenah again but she knew it was impossible so she just tried to make everything work.

Latula just tried to protect Mituna and try to lift the spirits up for everyone.

Kurloz was also in Mituna protection squad but nobody knew what in the flying fuck him and Meulin were doing. They just stood in one place and talked about God knows what.

Cronus tried to help but he wasn't sure what he was doing.

Horrus was just working on traps and ended up setting so many it was almost impossible to go outside without risking getting killed by one. But he knew the way around them and had all memorized.

And Damara was basically just doing the same thing that was happening before the apocalypse.

First death was Horrus who was attacked by bigger group of zombies while he tried to measure few things to add few more adjustments to the base itself so it whould be indestructible. He of course held them off but since he was caught off guard he couldn't get out without getting bitten.

Shortly after Cronus died while he, Porrim and Rufioh went for more supplies. He was a sacrifice that needed to be made in order for other two to live.

Next death was shortly after and it was Damara.

She wasn't taking it seriously from start to finish (but still did better job than others). She was outside doing nothing worth noting and killing each zombie she saw one time there was just too many of them.

After that things only got worse. But fortunately nobody died... Yet.

The thing is Rufioh got bitten but he didn't tell anyone. He was scared but in the end he knew that it wasn't going to end well either way.

He managed to keep it a secret but soon enough Porrim found out and she couldn't handle it calmly. So in the end he got both yelled at and killed.

In the end Aranea, Kankri, Porrim, Meuiln, Kurloz, Mituna and Latula survived. Meenah ran away. Rufioh, Horrus, Damara and Cronus died.

Picking the Names Part 1

Ok, now you guys know why they have two names. Now I'm going to tell you why I chose each characters names. Starting with the Low-Bloods-

Aradia's Zoo Name is Zombie. Pretty simple because of apocolypseArisen and her rising from the dead a few times and stuff.

Damara's Zoo Name is Demon. A bit of a weird one but it's kind of like a dead creature that's evil like the seven deadly sins. I don't think I can explain it any better.

The Handmaid's Zoo Name is Paradox. This is just because her existence in the Homestucks world is very paradoxical and also it just sounds good.

Tavros's Zoo Name is Pann. A bit on the nose. He loves Peter/Pupa Pan. I can't remember why there are two n's though...

Rufioh's Zoo Name is Rufio. I thought it'd be funny if we gave him almost the exact same name for his birth and zoo names. It makes sense at least since they would all be named after Peter Pan things.

The Summoner's Zoo Name is Tinker. Another Peter Pan thing. Tinkerbell.

Sollux's Zoo Name is Honey. Mind Honey obviously. Also, that bears love honey. buzz buzz buzz I wonder why he does.

Mituna's Zoo Name is Bumblebee. Again the honey and bees thing. Also, Mituna dresses up as a bee in the ministrife 

The Psiioniic's Zoo Name is Sting. Once, twice, bee times a lady. This is similar to Mitunas name but I wanted a more aggressive name because this dude has seen some shit in his life and a name like Bumblebee or Honey wasn't going to fly. So we chose Sting.

Karkat's Zoo Name is Nubby. Mostly because of his nubby horns. It also doesn't match with his temper which I think is funny. He acts tough and is swearing and screaming and then a trainer will call him Nubby and it just makes him look a bit pathetic.

Kankri’s Zoo Name is Chirp. Otters make cute little chirping noises and they do it almost constantly and it reminded me of Kankri's neverending rants.

The Signless's Zoo Name is Crabby. The Vantas' are grumpy and cancer is the crab sign so it was an easy choice.

Okay so I have a LOT of alters (over fourty) so I’ll just give like. The most frequent ones?? Side note: they’re all fictives

So.

First: Spencer Acachalla!! Twenty-two years old (biologically). Scottish-American, pan trans guy. He’s a huuuuuge nerd. He can be a litttle introverted but usually he’s just very snippy and sarcastic with new people. He has the tendency to rant as ramble and he’s been here the longest - about.. seven years? (He was the first to form.)

Second: Abbott Captor. A Mituna Captor. Seventeen years old, uh. Alternian. Gay trans guy. Abbott is.. something. He’s just as loud as Spencer half the time, but he can sort of flip on a dime. Sometimes he’s vulgar, obnoxious, and brash, and others he’s timid and shy. He’s genuinely really sweet, though, and if you let him talk about his boyfriend he’ll probably love you forever tbh.

Third: Seto Traevs! His source is a little weirder to explain and would probably take its own post. Seventeen in human years, aaand Enderborn. Gay enby (he/him, ne/nym). Seto is .. really shy. He’s a little awkward most of the time, but he’s seriously eager to learn anything. He loves meeting new people, even if he’s shy, and he will literally listen to people infodump about anything - but he especially has an affinity for science and nature. He’s .. still learning human culture but he’s very smart (and a fast learner).

Fourth: Jimmy Casket. Twenty-one, gay trans guy. Jimmy is.. a.. gremlin, to explain it lightly. He’s not bad or dangerous, he’s just really fucking weird. He’s majorly impulsive and excitable and will literally do anything if he’s dared to. Or just if he wants to. Also has a boyfriend. That boyfriend is most of what he talks about sometimes.

Fifth: Robbie!! Seven!! And a boy. Robbie is .. fun. He’s a Robbie the Zombie fictive to clarify, and he is an absolute baby boy. He’s incredibly outgoing and excitable and he loves to play. He loves pretty much anyone who talks to/plays with him and is incredibly affectionate. (He also wants me to tell everyone reading this that he loves you all 💜)

And this boy isn’t a frequent fronter yet but he’s been active more recently and is active right now:

Jackie!!!!!! Twenty-four, pan trans guy. Jackieboyman fictive. Impulsive nerd. He loves comic books and superhero movies and talks about them a lot. Also cried when the shit with Sony and Disney and Spider-Man was happening. Does dumb shit a lot because “I’m a superhuman, it won’t hurt me!”. And then it does and Henrik yells at him.

Also they’re all more than happy to talk to people and they do have a blog @thefamily-system if anyone wants to follow or send them asks or shit so.

Deuce at left you and Mituna at the fog base. So far of your own there yo had Mitu, Paint and Gamzee. Not long after Deuce left you slipped out yourself to continue your search for your family.

You think you’ve gotten near the river, though it’s hard to be sure with your phone still bugging out and the signs hiding their text from you with whatever fog magic makes that happen. You hear it before you see it. Something breathing heavily, almost wheezy you think like air being squeezed through a narrow space.

By this time you are much more inclined that is the sound of a monster than an injured person. You approach cautiously, as sick of monsters as you are, this is probably one of those lure beasts so you have to act with care rather than charging in to slaughter it like the bumbling zombies and mutant dogs.

As you move through the fog, you start to make out the sigh of the thing. It’s some sort of coil creature, big round white thing with a maw of needles. Some poor soul is trapped in those coils and- Wait. You would know those stubby horns anywhere. Your brother Karkat. It has YOUR BROTHER. Your gut reaction is to scream at it and charge in chainsaw swinging, but you are your father’s daughter. A rash approach could land you trapped in those coils with Karkat.

You can’t see any eyes on it, so perhaps it can’t see. You carefully take up a position of cover. You need to cut Karkat free without hurting him and you probably need to do it at a run. Cut, grab him and bolt out of reach as fast as possible. But first, distract it, give yourself as much of an advantage as possible.

You throw a knife with practiced aim a short distance from the creature onto the ground so it makes a sharp clatter. A test to see how it reacts.

Halloween Costumes for Humanstuck AU?

OK Rapidfire before this becomes too irrelevant:

Aradia: Either Mareep or Lup from the adventure zone. If we’re going for more generic, maybe a banshee

Tavros: He’d either do a group thing with Aradia (Tauros maybe) or do professor X from X-men

Sollux: Doesn’t dress up for halloween. If it’s required he wears a striped shirt and 2 eyepatches and says he’s a pirate like that one flash. somehow this doesn’t go poorly too often.

Nepeta: Any anime catgirl.

Terezi: Either a group thing with whoever Nepeta does, an Ace Attorney (or maybe fire emblem) character, or a group thing with Vriska

Vriska: Either a pirate, her current DnD character, or a vogue elf from TAZ so she can jokingly aggress Aradia.

Equius: Centaur, Horse, Maid, or a gundam.

Eridan: Equius’s unused gundam costume, Tuxedo Mask (so he can annoy Nepeta), or his DnD character but with much lower production value than Vriska.

Feferi: Mermaid most years, occasionally spices it up with a pirate to match Sollux.

Damara: The edgy murder girl from a currently popular anime, or occasionally an Ampharos if Aradia bothers her enough.

Rufioh: Gets talked into being the ass half of Horuss’s horse costume every year.

Mituna: Megaman

Meulin: Does the sunny optimistic protagonist girl of whatever anime Damara does by pure coincidence.

Latula: Currently popular video game waifu (ie D.Va, the robot girl from Nier Automata, Bowsette). Also has a pokemon trainer costume for group stuff with anyone who cosplays pokemon.

Aranea: Muffet from Undertale

Horuss: The front half of the horse costume. It’s like, upsettingly well made.

Cronus: Greaser. Every. Year.

Meenah: Claims she’s too cool for a costume, gets annoyed when nobody asks her to do a group costume with them, disrupts half the groups costume plans for something of her own design.

And as a special bonus, some non-trolls:

Caliborn: Jason. At least one of the weapons he carries ends up being real and nobody’s sure if it’s intentional.

Calliope: Either also one of the pokemon, or a popular character. Previous cosplays include group stuff with one of the anime people, Palutena from Kid Icarus, the two stark girls from GoT, etc)

Jasprose: Cheshire cat every year, it’s like a semi-ironic thing at this point

Davepeta: It varies so much there’s no real pattern except that they cosplay Frisk from Undertale every other year.

WV: Iron Man Mayors don’t wear costumes for halloween.

PM: Just puts on some dog ears and has WQ do basic makeup, calls it a day.

WQ: Any Fairy Godmother/Good witch from fairy tales

WK: Doesn’t dress up but wears a harlequin hat.

BQ: Period wear (ie flapper dress) or fairy tale villainess (ie Maleficent)

BK: The burger king A zombie under BQ’s control, or a vampire

HB: Rambo or The Terminator

CD: Pumpkin or some kind of rodent character (Hammond/wrecking ball, teemo, etc)
