His preferred field of study deals with the biomechanics and life cycles of extraterrestrial parasites. His unique perspective and insight has offered great leaps in interstellar medicine by helping provide treatments for rare and often deadly parasitic infections. Not wanting to offend his host planet he took over the form of a stray cat which he assumed to be a local source of food before realizing it was in fact a common household pet. He has since expressed his deepest apologies for this mix up and has advised cat lovers to perhaps reconsider taking his class.

Pan out to the bonus room, the girls are all huddled around an incomplete Janga tower, Knife is just laying next to Tabitha unamused and just glad that the girls are done treating her like a toy for now.

The girls had simply just been playing Dread the entire time. Mackenzie’s dad and brother’s come home and try and talk to the girls. Mackenzie just just gives them a half-assed wave and basically ignoring them.

“Let’s do another one!” Tabitha exclaims in excitement. “What should the story be?” Mackenzie asks. “Zombies,” Mary suggests, “With worms.” she adds. Tampa cringes, “That sounds gross.” she comments.

“Let’s do it!” Tabitha says.

There’s something so poetic and heartbreaking about Mary not wanting to hurt her mother. It’s not out of pity or wanting to ease the strain of the divorce it’s just purely a daughter’s love for her mother who’s always been there. Her mother who has never tried to make Mary feel outcasted or othered or unloved.

Even when Mary KNOWS that something is wrong in her bones, she cannot force herself to do anything but trail after her mother and try and make her proud even if what she’s doing could get her hurt. She loves her mom. And it sucks that the last she saw of her was her mother trying to kill her.

[scrambles through tons of paper like im a mad scientist] okay ok. smosh vs zombies/smosh vs aliens au where savannah babysits during her summer break before junior year and gets asked to babysit mary (parents are going through a divorce so they Cant Really Take Care Of The Kid Right Now). mary’s weird and has a very particular interest in starting fires but most of the time she’s quiet and just wants to watch nature documentaries which savannah doesn’t really mind.

one day mary timidly tells savannah about the ‘funny feeling’ she has in her tummy whenever she’s around mackenzie that ‘i swear is NOT from all the ice cream i eat!!!’ and asks her what that means. savannah feels like she’s been doused by ice cold water bc how the hell is she gonna explain to this middle schooler that she Might have a crush on her best friend while Also going through the worst situationship/homoerotic bestfriend-ship with gracie (who is definitely not annoyed that savannah cant hang out with her 24/7 because of her babysitting gig)

I think it's in part because Amanda is so clearly willing to completely and sincerely engage with the emotional aspects of her characters in these miniseries. But running 2 for 2 on Amanda's characters having their parents used as emotional leverage/that relationship be deeply and devastatingly torn between the characters devotion to their parent vs the evil the parent is perpetuating. Is so funny

(by funny i mean fucking devastating bc amanda is a very good actress).
