background story ;

wesley was born in the french city marseille to french parents lisa kapone and alain lafleur, five minutes after his twin sister ( wanted connection ). his father was heir of lafleur lounges ( basically hotel resorts and lounges similar to a french version of hilton hotels ), while his mother was miss france in 1999 and a well known fashion designer ( the vera wang of europe, if you must ). him and his sister were born into a lot of money, practically a golden spoon in his mouth, spoiled to the core. anything he wanted, he received, and shortly after the twins were born, his parents got married, basically those parents that are head over heels for each other, an envy worthy love story with golden twins – they were the it family in europe, that rich, opulent family in the public eye that everyone wanted to know

his childhood was anyone’s wet dream. he was rich, he was spoiled, and his parents loved him more than anything in this world, that much was evident, and for the first few years of his life, wesley was a happy kid. around the time he was seven years old however, he began showing unusual signs

! tws for very brief mentions of self mutilation, please skip over this if it triggers you, your safety comes first ! the first time he showed a sign that perhaps not everything was okay for him was in his classroom, at not even eight years old. without thinking about it, wesley stuck his finger inside a sharpener and sharpened off nearly the entire nail from his index finger along with his skin. when his mother rushed to pick him up and asked him why he would do that, his exact response was “i don’t know, i just wanted to feel something, i’m sorry”

it was an emotional day, but after making sure he didn’t seriously damage his finger, his mother turned a blind eye and pretended like wesley’s actions were normal, never telling his father the real reason behind what happened to his finger, and claiming one of his classmates accidentally slammed the door against it. wesley never debunked his mother’s lie, and never really spoke of it. it was a topic they both knew about, but neither one of them bought it up ever again

for the remainder of that year and the next, things were okay, for the most part. it’s mostly him, his sister and his mother, or him, his sister and his nanny whenever his mother couldn't be around, considering her job. his father however, is barely present. by the time wesley is nine is when he unintentionally catches his father cheating through listening in on a phone call. not sure what to do with this information, he doesn’t know if he should tell his mother or not. really, he doesn’t have to decide, because soon enough, his mother catches his father in the act and it just turns into a huge argument

that happy, perfect family they once were is no longer there. his mother forgives his father, but things are never the same again. wesley didn’t understand why she forgave him for what he did, but really, it was just for the appearance, for the sake of keeping the family together and, because she had too much to lose. by the time he’s ten, they move to the states in an attempt to patch things up, but it only gets worse from that point on

wesley’s father is never around, and, as a way to cope, his mother turns into one of those wine moms that spends her day daydrinking with her group of friends and taking valium and xanax, quitting fashion altogether and living off the fortune they've already created. it’s like his mother is there, but it’s like she’s also not really there. wesley’s form of coping is through music, mostly the drums

soon enough, wesley learns to take care of himself, as his mother grows more and more detached from his life. in a mansion filled with fast cars, work staff and anything anyone could ever dream of, wesley has never felt more alone

his early pre teen years, literally age twelve, is when he begins to realize that there might be something wrong with him. he doesn’t know what it is, but he realizes he hates being alone with his own thoughts. it gets too loud, it’s too dark, so he attempts to do everything in his power to try and distract himself, but it’s easier said than done. his mind is already a dark place, but soon enough, it becomes even darker

! tws for overdose, death, self harm, mental illness and baker act for the next two bullets, please skip over this if it triggers you, your safety comes first ! one day, when he comes back from school, his sister is at a friends house, so he does his usual routine but his mother never comes out of her room, clearly drunk to ask him how his day was. when entering her room, he notices she’s sound asleep, or at least, this is what he thinks. fast forward a good five hours and wesley decides to try and wake her up. finding her unresponsive, he immediately calls 911, only to be told that his mother passed away from an overdose. with the amount of pills and alcohol that she mixed together, her body just couldn’t take it. obviously, wesley’s father, and his sister, rush back home, the first time he’s seen his father in over three weeks, they just mourn together. that day, wesley was never really the same person again

the day of her funeral, right after, wesley finds himself in the bathroom, angry with himself. why didn’t he walk in sooner? why did it take him so long to realize? why is it all his fault? his thoughts consume him, one thing leads to another, and he finds himself punching the bathroom mirror, over, and over, and over again. to not get too into detail, his father hears him having a break down, walks in, and immediately calls the police on wesley when he see’s the condition his hand is left in. this is the first time he was ever baker acted, he was involuntarily admitted for five days. during this period, he officially gets diagnosed with bipolar disorder with mostly psychotic manic episodes, gets put on abilify ! end of tws !

as much as he hates it, it does help, for the most part. his father becomes a hundred times more present in his life, practically watching him like a hawk, making sure he takes his meds, but he can’t help but feel like there’s something missing in his life. like there’s some hole in his chest that he can’t seem to fill, but he can damn well try

his teenage years consist of him coming out of his shell and trying just about everything, from narcotics, to alcohol, to first times, you get the idea. he’s quick to realize that he gets a lot male attention, and he uses that to his advantage. hooks ups and partaking in drug use become a frequent thing for him, and by the time he’s around fourteen is when he starts building his social media platform

it’s funny how easily it comes to him. he posts pictures on instagram and immediately starts gaining attention because of his looks. this, during the years, opens doors for him. it starts off with modeling gigs, then sponsorships, then a few commercials, until he’s landing small movie roles, extra roles in tv shows, and finally, permanent character roles on both, before he’s even of legal age

his coping mechanism is narcissism and narcotics, or 'nn' as he calls it. it’s just so easy to act like he’s better than everyone else when he couldn’t hate himself more, despite the countless thirsty comments on his posts, those people just don’t know him. he manages to make a name for himself in the industry, leaving his past behind him, but… it can really only be so long before it all catches up to him

headcanons ;

wesley tends to bury up his childhood traumas. from his cheating father, to his mothers death, to the time he got baker acted – he keeps this side of himself hidden. in a way, he wants people to believe that he’s perfect in every sense of the word, when his mind is really a crippling mess. that’s why his hair is so big and curly, because it’s full of secrets

he hasn’t taken his medication in over two years already and he never wants to take it again. it helps him, but he hates feeling like he has to rely on something to be ‘normal’ like everyone else. as long as no one knows about his personal life, he’s more than fine with that

he blames himself for his mother’s death. it’s honestly one of his biggest regrets and childhood trauma’s, knowing that if maybe he had realized sooner, something could have been done. he replays that image over and over again in his head and he hates it, it’s something that genuinely scarred him

he’s one of those people that you would never even remotely imagine has the conditions that he has. he’s so cynical, it’s scary how easily he can convince you that he lives a perfect, envious lifestyle

he’s like… a whore. anything to get his mind off shit. he loves attention, whether it be negative or positive. maybe it's the attention he lacked growing up, but he just wants to feel valid in whatever way possible

this is a huge secret of his, but at around the age of nineteen, he did some camboy shit on a dare. the only problem with this is that he really enjoyed the attention he received from this and he kind of? low key continues to do it. he wears a mask, so no one knows it’s him, but the desperate, thirsty comments are such a stroke to his already inflated yet damaged ego. he can’t help that he loves the validation strangers give him, and if no one knows it’s him, what’s the harm?

his hobbies ( or job description ) consists of playing the drums, modeling, acting, posting pictures, and secretly, getting behind his webcam for thirsty people online ( you know where this is going ). he has a youtube account in which he posts drum covers ( literally think like matt mcguire and tobines on youtube ). he’s a good drummer, takes it as a stress reliever, just banging on shit if he’s had a rough day

deep down inside, wesley knows that he has a problem. he’s very well aware of that fact, but he stopped going to therapy and getting genuine help when he was of legal age. his father can’t force him anymore and he refuses to let anyone know just how dark his thoughts really are

has a huge scar across his knuckles from where he punched the mirror repeatedly that day, but tells people it’s from a fight he got into ages ago, shows off about it and all, but if people really only knew the truth

he just wants to be loved secretly, but a part of him feels like he’s not worthy of shit, so meaningless sex, flings, and drugs it is. i genuinely don’t think there’s a single person that knows him for him, because he thinks that if he ever shows this side of himself, no one would ever want to stick around, it’s so much easier to just detach yourself

coke problem? most definitely. that’s awful for bipolar disorder, but he’s an idiot, so what else can even be said in regards to this

he hates being alone with his thoughts, which is why he enjoys partying so much. he’ll go to three after parties once the party is over, just wants to have a good time, turn up the music to drown out just how depressed he really is

he really enjoys working out. it keeps his mind occupied, he likes the idea of having a nice body. kind of overly obsessed with his looks as well, because secretly, he kind of feels like him being attractive is the only thing he has going for him, hence the camboy stuff, hence the influencer status

he has a bunny he named honey bunny, he impulsively bought him after getting stoned out of his mind and named him equally as stoned. he loves this bunny with his entire life, definitely his emotional support animal

constantly paints his nails black, doesn’t like any other color, will wear black eyeliner when going out to parties, honestly believes that clothes shouldn’t have a gender, just does whatever he wants

he really loves music that can be considered emo. bands like sleeping with sirens, asking alexandria, my chemical romance, falling in reverse, etc, have gotten him through some really hard times. definitely an emo boy at heart, even if he doesn’t give off the ‘vibe’

#edit: i did go to munich last weekend because football and i tried a bunch of restaurants #it was super exhausting and my knee hurt for several days #but it was really nice #went to a cat cafe. which isn't as spectacular as i thought but hey! i did it!#found a mexican place which is really good #accidentally went to the wrong korean restaurant - i wanted to visit one i've already been to but ended up at a new one #they were FAST (in augsburg i waited like 2h once so now i'm wary) and the food was good #but then the owner threw us out bcs more people were coming #won't come back thx :)))))#and then we went to a chinese place and there were a lot of chinese guests which is quite a good sign #and they had handmade noodles and were really friendly and the food was pretty good and the price too #and then i noticed if we didn't leave within like 5 minutes we'd miss our train home and had to wait for another hour #but the cute waiter struck up a conversation bcs he saw our fca stuff :)))))) which was sweet but boi i need to catch my train #there were so many people talking to us bcs of our fca stuff oh boi social interactions maxxxxed out and stuff #i want to do another food trip but not too soon. i need to recover from this trip

HOW THEY EMBODY THEIR TROPE:

Nate is the BRUISER WITH A SOFT CENTER because, at the end of the day, he is far more sensitive than he will ever let on. Everything hurts this Pisces moon, even as he glowers and glares, and yes, punches his way through them. He’s quick to react with anger - which often translates into violence - all while hiding how things are constantly hurting him. It’s easier to ignore it, because there’s nothing he can do. It’s just the hand he was dealt. And if he’s good at anything (which he still thinks may be debatable), it’s throwing a punch.

EXPANDED PERSONALITY:

Most of Nate’s personality is negative. Even what could be a positive trait (such as competitiveness, honesty, sensitivity, intensity….) he tends to turn it up to 1000 until it’s damaging. But honestly, most of it just negative to start with. He’s very withdrawn and broody, spends most of his time and interactions just glowering at people, and yet has an extremely short fuse, so will go from no reaction to swinging in the blink of an eye. he basically throws tantrums like a toddler, albeit a very large, 6′5″ toddler who actually knows how to fight.

However, he is extremely loyal if he decides someone is worth it - spoiler alert, most people aren’t - he will be there for them in the best way Nate knows how. Still tactless, but like, he tries his best. Basically his way of showing emotional support is being like so, uh, you wanna smoke a joint? Because at the end of the day, Nate is not very smart. Emotionally, or in a book smart sense. He can come off a bit of a himbo, just with his attempts to be charming and flirt with women (when he wants to). Plus he’s hot. And he knows it. And isn’t afraid to use it.

Speaking of women (ladies, please run), Nate likes to be pursued. He hates having to make the first move - probably due to of feeling like he isn’t worth it, more on that below - and he will flirt, charm, seduce, but when it actually comes down to it, he wants the other person to make that final leap. Some sort of validation or something. He likes when girls pay attention to him, and tries to coax it out of them. However, he also has a lot of resentment towards his mother for chasing after his father and bending over backwards to try to make things work, so he also loses interest as soon as a girl is too interested. And when he loses interest, he won’t say anything, he’ll just ghost or cheat. The only kind of confrontation Natey boi is good at is one that involves his fists.

His default way of connecting with people is…well, sex. Nate has no examples of a healthy emotional relationship, and he isn’t good at making friends, so typically, when a girl wants to get close to him, he fakes intimacy with his head between their legs, making them feel like they have him because he’s sleeping with them. Like he’s open and connected to them just because they boned. In reality, it’s just his way of avoiding the emotional intimacy he’s petrified of, because he knows it’ll come back to hurt him. The only downside to all that is the rare times he does want to emotionally connect with someone, he has no idea how to. All he knows how to offer is his body, really.

Nate’s very dry, prone to swearing (he did grow up in Australia), and his sense of humor is very deadpan. When the Shaw family moved back to Sag Harbor from Australia, where Nate’s mother grew up, they instantly realized they were not on the same class playing feel as everyone else. nate is the third out of four kids in five years to two highly incompatible people

his mom followed his dad back to australia when he was 3, only to call it all off 12 years later, and move back to sag harbor when nate was 15

nate took the move v hard in general, got into a lot of fights, briefly ended up in juvie after being charged with assault

couldn't pay for a lawyer, but the kid he was defending became his best friend (xoxo keys) and his father was a public defender and got the charges dropped, so he doesn't TECHNICALLY have it on his record

shortly after he got invited to an illicit fighting ring, which had money being given to winners and tossed around in bets by the rich kids who vacationed in the summer

early in the fall his senior year, there was a back to school party where the house they were in ended up burning down - since nate was the only one who didn't have rich parents, who do you think took the fall? (hint: nate)

camilo was born to britta incanti and lorenzo montaner in barcelona, spain. his mother is an italian model and fashion designer who was miss italy in 1993, and runner up for miss universe in 1994, and his father is owner and heir of hotel and resort chains called montaner ( literally equivalent to hilton hotels ). needless to say, his family on both sides comes from a lot of money, and have pretty much bought into anything you can think of. gas companies, gastronomy business, electric, you name it, his family is somehow involved

camilo, being an only child, grew up with anything materialistic anyone could ever think of. all he had to do was point, and it was being handed to him without any type of questions. he was spoiled, practically born with a golden spoon in his mouth, in the public eye. his family was widely known in europe and also had business’ world wide, which meant he had a rather public life since he could remember

to anyone, his upbringing sounds like a wet dream, and in a way, it kind of was. i say ‘in a way’ because his life isn’t as picture perfect as everyone thinks it is. simply put, his parents were never really present. he grew up with the best help money could buy – nannies, butlers, personal chefs, maids, people who worked for his family and treated him like he was the last cup of water in the middle of the desert. he had it all, minus the people who were supposed to love him the most

they missed his birthdays, christmas, important holidays, things that any parent should be present for, they were never around. instead, he was always surrounded by people who were literally paid to care for him. he was never really held as a child, never hugged when he was sad or sick, and because of his rather cold upbringing, this made camilo an equally cold person

due to constantly being in the public eye, he became cynical and calculated. in his eyes, everything was a game. nothing was unattainable to him because of his hefty wallet and no one was genuinely worthy of his time. at least, this is what he grew up thinking

he grew up feeling an insane amount of pressure. despite his parents not being around, they always let him know that what the world thought of them, the idea people had of him, was everything. the way he looked and acted was all that mattered, and carrying this with him since he could remember was a lot to deal with

he quickly became obsessed with his physical appearance. what he wore, down from his shirt to his shoes, how his hair looked, how his skin appeared and his weight especially, became everything for him. camilo would rather die than go out wearing sweats or looking anything less than impeccable – he simply had to look his best or he wouldn’t go out at all

his earlier years consisted of traveling a lot. he lived in his mother’s hometown in the amalfi coast in italy for a few years, traveled back and forth to any country his heart desired, and would leave as soon as he grew bored with where he was staying at

by the time he’s fourteen, he decides to move to los angeles to start high school there, mostly so he could better his english, but also because his family had contacts there and he knew a few celebrities

this is how he meets his first ever boyfriend, dani, when he’s sixteen. truth be told, camilo wasn’t a fan of him at first. they were polar opposites and he considered dani to ‘not be at his level’. he doesn’t know how it happens, but he somehow makes his way into camilo’s cold ass heart, and soon enough, they begin to date. dani was someone camilo would have never considered, but he basically falls head over heels for him. he’s the first person who makes camilo feel less cynical, like he doesn’t have to be perfect or do everything so impeccably so. he makes him feel real, like he actually matters to someone and isn’t just a display case for the world to judge. simply put, he makes him feel things he never thought he would feel before, makes him see things from a completely different perspective

unfortunately, this romance is short lived when dani disappears one day, with no warning. camilo tries not to let it get to him, but he’s so hurt by this move, he ends up going to a boarding school in san francisco and finishes high school there, heading back to his hometown, barcelona, two days after his graduation

at this point, his trust issues are at an all time high. he has a very difficult time letting people in and mostly maintains superficial relationships with everyone, without much depth, or any depth at all, really

he basically becomes even more obsessed with his physical appearance, especially when he gets signed to a modeling agency by the time he’s nineteen. to camilo, the way he looks becomes everything to him, up to the point where it becomes unhealthy

he’s modeled for a few brands in the past before, but when he actually gets signed to an agency is when he starts to feel the pressure. being around his peers, for the first time in his life, he doesn’t feel like he’s above them. in fact, he feels inferior to them. some of the names are so big, that the importance of his last name doesn’t mean anything to them. never wanting to be below anyone, he starts working extra hard to make sure he’s on their level, or better than they are

! tws for eating disorders, fainting, hospitals and body dysphoria for the next four bullets, read with caution or skip over this if you’re triggered ! his habits start off so small at first, that he genuinely doesn’t see it as a problem. over exercising is only the beginning, but soon enough, he starts cautiously watching, and counting, the calories of the stuff he eats. when this isn’t proven to be enough, he switches to a vegan diet, and it just escalates from that point on

to be honest, he was never overweight. in fact, doctors would tell him he had to gain some weight in the past, but despite this, he didn’t feel good enough. more so, he felt like he could be better. he became obsessed with any little flaw he would pick out of himself and would work endlessly to fix it, or make it less noticeable. one of his more genuine friends in the modeling industry flat out told him he had a problem, but camilo brushed it aside and kept ‘working’ on himself. by working on himself, i mean practically torturing himself with unhealthy diets and extreme exercise routines

the worst part is that he really didn’t think he had a problem. he struggled with an eating disorder and body dysphoria for over six years, until one day, six months after his twenty sixth birthday, he ends up passing out during a photo shoot. waking up in the hospital, he’s told he has pretty bad malnutrition linked to an eating disorder and is recommended to seek help. at this point, he weighed ninety seven pounds ( almost forty four kilograms )

it’s at this moment that he realizes that he’s not okay. despite not being quite ready to get the help he needs, he ends up checking himself into an inpatient clinic in madrid that specializes in eating disorders and mental health. he’s there for three months and it’s basically hell for him, the hardest thing he’s ever had to do, but... he does get better. by a lot. ends up gaining the weight he needs and see’s a nutritionist to work out a ( healthy ) vegan diet for him. after leaving said clinic, he goes back to los angeles to continue working on his modeling career and meet his sponsors. he’s there until december, and afterwards, makes the decision to move to long island in a pent house his parents own, wanting to be far away from anyone he’s ever known and start fresh

headcanons

truth be told, camilo still does struggle a lot with his weight and appearance. he knows better at this point, but it’s still something he deals with on a daily basis. his habits aren’t unhealthy anymore, but he’s a very picky eater. he’s literally the type of person to separate food on his plate and eat it in different sections, one at a time. he will probably never go back to harming himself the way he did for so long, but he still carries that part of his life with him. he has a healthy diet and exercise routine now, but god knows it took him a while to get there

he can be a real pain in the ass when it comes to keeping things clean. i wouldn’t say he’s ocd, but he can be a borderline neat freak. things have to be tidy otherwise he literally can’t sleep

he enjoys drinking alcohol from time to time, but that’s about it. he hates weed because of the munchies and used to chain smoke cigarettes, but thankfully, that’s a habit he’s broken out of. he’s tried coke and dabbled with it back in spain when he was going through everything he was going through because he liked how it takes away your hunger, but he doesn’t really do anything now, claims he’s ‘high off life’

even though he makes it seem like he doesn’t want anyone or is too good for anyone, deep down inside, camilo really wants to be loved. he wants a boyfriend who will turn into his husband, he wants a kid and a house, and he wants an actual future with someone, despite showing anyone who has ever been interested in him romantically the complete opposite ( minus dani rip )

he has a cat he named draco meowfoy, clever twist on his favorite movie and book character, draco malfoy. his cat is one year old and a ragdoll cat, basically the sweetest cat ever, acts more like a dog than anything

he’s a model and an influencer, future heir to the business’ his family owns. he has thirty five million followers on instagram, and an equivalent amount on tiktok and other social media platforms. he has a ton of money besides that, but he makes a very good amount of money on sponsorships ( his favorite ones so far have been brands like adidas and colgate )

when you really get to know him ( which is rare ), he’s goofy. nothing like that ‘i’m better than you’ persona he puts on for the whole world to see. he has an idiot side to him that likes corny jokes and puns, enjoys knitted sweaters and dad jokes

he was offered a spot on a reality tv show in spain with other models, living in a mansion and getting into shenanigans, but he turned it down. the show was similar to ‘hype house’ and he feels like he dodged a bullet with that one

he is a huge fan of enrique iglesias, has been to six of his concerts and has personally met him three times. loves him to death, literally man crush monday all day every day
