The amount of Charlos parallels in this one song are completely astounding okay? well the entire song is Charlos coded in my opinion, but this specific part stuck out to me the most, like this fits them so well istg.

First of all, the entire first line taking Carlos to be the narrator, it is clear, that he, is conflicted between his heart, and his mind. His mind is rational, begging him to think clearly because this will not only affect him, but Charles and Ferrari as a whole as well. His heart however, is pleading, almost getting out of chest to get to Charles. He, because he has almost nothing to lose, after having lost the red dream, knows that the world will not accept this, but because he has nothing to lose, doesn't give two fucks.

Now, coming to the second paragraph. Ferrari is literally, not even figuratively, Charles' home. He has been there his entire life, he is their boy, their Predestinato, the predestined. the one who will bring the team back to glory through his blood, sweat and tears. Carlos was just the person they brought in to fill the space next to him. Ferrari never had any attachment to him, that's why they let him go so easily. So, yeah, Charles will literally go back home, and the only thing that Carlos has of his, is a small part of his journey that they spent together. Carlos' destiny lies unclear, while Charles has his set in stone.

Look at that line and tell me that those boundaries are not team boundaries. It can also be interpreted as Ferrari because we all know just how much they value tradition and conformity and respecting and honoring the past. They would never let two drivers be together, much less both of theirs in a relationship with each other. but Carlos has now accepted the fact that he and Charles are two very different people, and pushing them together, would lead to disaster more often than not. there's also the imagery of Charles, being a star, very much out of the league of Carlos, a measly bird. It's the level of importance, both within Ferrari and the world of formula 1 as a whole, that creates this gap between the two of them. by the last line, Carlos has accepted that difference and says, I chose my sky, alluding to Williams and how he so badly wants to bring them back to where they belong, and you chose yours, leading to the interpretation that Charles chose Ferrari and his career over him, but its fine because Carlos did the same thing, just with another team.
