Now, after Zayn’ tribute, when I rewatching 1D videos I always pay attention to Liam who “steer the ship”

I have a new second favorite Zayn and here's reasons #1-∞ why...

first off, for anyone who may have missed it liam participated in Soccer Aid this week and made a new friend with an old name. enter tiktoker & youtuber zaynqf, who makes football content but was clearly fangirling over liam (much like another zayn we know lmao) 😆

...BUT things really popped off when zayn(qf) made a post including a caption with a punny joke about himself and liam (included in the screenshots below)

as they do, fans reacted and the result was...interesting 😏

and then just to make sure what was seemingly being implied by zayn(qf) was crystal clear someone else followed up and...

THEN as if to double down on his chaotic and downright egregious behavior (sir! we were not prepared!) AND add fuel to the already deliciously burning fire, he proceeded to view (and even like) posts from other ziams' stories

there may be even more of these, i'm not sure, but these are just the ones i happened to see (if people have screenshots of more of him creeping on ziam posts please do feel free to send them in so i can add them to this post lol!)

anyways, in conclusion, I have a new second favorite zayn and now you all do too. let's welcome our new surrogate captain of this beautiful ship warmly! 😜🏳️‍🌈

So. Liam left the comment the day before stunting and Zayn replied while Liam was stunting, the day before he himself would drop a stunt mention. Mmm.

I feel like these stunts were damage control, unless they were already planned and that's why the interaction could happen. Either way it's sad that in 2023 they're still in this situation 😒 but ikr! For years there were stunts without Ziam so at least now they and we got smth out of it lol 🙌

very often see posts about how the one direction fans grew up to be formula one fans, and the more I think of it, the more it makes sense. putting aside the fact that almost all my f1 friends were 1d fans (were ? are lol), it makes sense that a fandom who's fuel was hyperfixating on boys living out their dreams shifted from one form of it to another.

tha being said, it got me thinking - how do the girlies translate to f1 ? and by girlies i mean what your kpop fan would call a "bias". for example, if i was a niall girl - who's my favourite now ?

so here's a silly little non-sensical analysis and comparison that should not be taken seriously at all :

firstly, the zayn malik girlies are definitely lewis hamilton girlies. both zayn and lewis come from humble backgrounds, were subject to vile, inhumane racial discrimination and hate - all while being arguably the most talented in their respective fields (I mean, you've heard zayn's high note in you & I, and seen lewis' 7 world championships). they're hardworking, pet-loving, very fashionable men who stay out of unnecessary spotlight for the most part, and step out once in a while to remind the world they're drop-dead gorgeous. the zayn girls are safe with lewis.

next comes liam payne - and here on you'll have to hear me out with my comparison of every racer and bandmate. liam and george russell are both aggressively british, unapologetically goofy and true to themselves (and i'm talking about liam in 1d not the one on logan paul's podcast). they're both very talented, highly regarded in their boss' eyes (toto wolff and simon cowell - this post is going to be interesting wow) and still somehow not an immediate fan favourite. this comparison also goes wonderfully well with the whole ziam and britcedes parallels.

thirdly, louis tomlinson. easy peasy. max verstappen. both incredibly blunt, dry humour, pr nightmares, do not give two single hecks. people either love them, or hate them - no in between. both incredibly talented individuals (louis wrote majority of 1d's discography, max has 3 world championships under his belt) and yet are discredited ("louis is only famous cuz of his bandmates and the band itself" and "max just had a good car"). the zayn and louis fued also parallels abu dhabi 2021 quite well aye ? (i'm going insane)

harry styles, no debate. charles leclerc - regarded as the pretty boys (the prettiest, their fans would insist i'm sure) and the most popular, the well-liked. both extremely talented without a doubt, but a little bit overrated, and victimised to glorify and support fan narratives. i know i sound like a hater - forgive me, not my intention. i like them both as individuals - their fans on the other hand (and no, not all, i know) are so blind-sided, so insane and cause so much unpleasantness on the internet. almost ironic, how the most amicable ones have the least liked fans lol. that aside though, if you were a harry girl, chances are you went from one fan-favourite to the other. i also just realised - this supports the larry and lestappen narratives - am i genuinely, honestly onto something here ? (i absolutely am not)

lastly, niall horan. now this one i'm sure will divide you all, but here you go anyway. lando norris. both babied immensely by their fans and bandmates/teammates alike - churchboy persona. the moment they shed the insecurity, suddenly bam everyone hates them (niall's mofo t-shirts, lando's frat boy tendencies, and saying things that the internet will not find funny), promising at a young age, yet somehow grew up to be called overrated. their fans are stubbornly loyal to them, defending them through all their rights, and wrongs. it makes sense to me. one smiley boy to another.

this probably makes no sense - but feel free to add your own comparisons, theories, and notes ! there's 5 of them and 20 on the grid, obviosuly disparity for me to go on and on and on about (for example, I see a little zayn girls to carlos girls pipeline, louis to fernando - oldest boy syndrome and all that) so let me know ! let's yap :)

Ziam is real, climb on board

For the first time, we’re experiencing a genuine influx of people looking into Ziam, the real relationship between Zayn and Liam. And honestly it’s about time. It’s always been so beautiful and devoted and consistent and visible to those willing to invest and find out for themselves. It’s also been so unseen and dismissed and a bit buried by Larry too. I’m a Larry too, but right now I’m all about Ziam. I’m really happy Ziam is getting there deserved time seeing some light.

I’m not here to convince anyone. Ziam isn’t new, it has been around and discussed and real since 2012 when we believe their relationship started extending beyond friendship. There is an existing treasure trove that can be sought out by people willing to open their mind and examine it, especially from Zayn and Liam themselves. Right from the start and up until present day. 

The truth is we are experiencing a moment we weren’t expecting. First with Liam’s death. Now with Zayn touring for the first time ever as a solo artist. 

People are interested in Liam and that is a normal reaction. People are noticing a lot of things that don’t make sense and are curious and questioning that. People can’t make sense about his relationship with his “girlfriend”, the public PR performance at his funeral of a select group of celebrities (all aligned with Modest, Simon Jones PR or existing narratives regarding the boys) and of course the narrative around his “son” Bear.

Usually when things don’t make sense, there is a good reason, we know this with Larry too, and so in the same way people should look and critically engage. Gaps can’t always be filled when we are dealing with public media narratives that then clearly don’t align with who a person really is consistently as a human. It's pretty hard work for all involved to contain a decades plus closet, in times like this. That is a big part of what people are noticing with Liam. They should question public narratives and media. Liam wanted to be seen and heard for who he really was, and celebrating and talking about Ziam right now is one of the biggest parts of seeing and knowing Liam. Its not disrespectful if you've done the work to see and know, just like with Larry.

Now we also finally have Zayn touring for the first time ever as a solo artist. Seeing him on stage after a 10 year wait is kind of exhilarating and like any of the boys you get a reminder on stage of who the person really is, really leaning in and hearing the lyrics live and seeing his being. Zayn is very definitely coding to us in a way that he hasn’t been able to do so before. He knew we would be looking and he wants to be seen. He is literally telling us that he is honest and truthful in his music. Zayn’s public narrative has never made sense either, it's all the same closeting stuff. Copy of a copy of a copy.

The narrative set up for Room Under the Stairs was actually quite strange, and in reality it translates very poorly to the lyrics and the emotions. So many gaps and things that don't make sense. In the future I will share some analysis on RUTS. I’ve been immersed in the album non-stop since May. The album to me is mostly about his closet - the pain it has caused him, the effect it has had on his relationship, the pain and effect it has had on his long term partner, the ways in which he has had to reframe his mindset to live within the reality of his closet, the ways he has changed his lifestyle to focus on the simple things in life to help his mental health impacted by his closet (and other things). Yet throughout all that heartbreaking pain, he still talks about his person, his lover, he refers to 'they' in many key lyrics, he brings his partner into the lyrics clearly, lyrics that clearly refer back to past and present times. Its the same person, it always has been in Zayn's lyrics. He tells them and us that he wouldn’t change anything despite all that pain, that their love has been worth it, that he is devoted, that their love was like stardust from the start until forever. The most specific songs relating to his person haven't been included on the tour setlist - How it Feels, The Time, False Starts, Grateful, Something in the Water and of course Stardust. They are the strongest songs on the album, the ones that have made me cry non-stop for the last 6 months. I suspect he rearranged the setlist, they would have been too hard to sing live. Instead we see a few B sides we wouldn't have expected on tour. I hope more people will listen to RUTS, it's absolutely devastating, empowering and life affirming and you can really see and feel who Zayn is.

I've just seen this post. If "It's You" is a Ziam song don't you think Zayn would find it hard to sing on tour? Especially without getting emotional?

Zayn is performing several songs on this tour that I consider to be Liam/Ziam songs, with It's You being the most tender, so it makes sense to wonder how he's handling that. I do think that for all his past performance anxiety, Zayn is both a professional singer and a celebrity who is well-practiced at separating himself from his stage persona, so I would not expect him to well up with tears every time he sings a certain song live.

Zayn is definitely enjoying himself on this tour, finding his stage presence again, and having been at his show this past Saturday I felt so much genuine sincerity in his interactions with the audience and the band. So I don't mean to imply that he is switched off while performing, because I actually feel he is being quite authentic in a way that is beautiful to see. But performing even a very personal song live requires a lot of focus and skill, so I think his mind and body are more dialed into that in the moment.

That being said, at my show he introduced It's You, paused for a moment, then said "It's you" again for some reason. At the end of the show, he reminded us to hug our loved ones (and we all know what he said he wished he could do one last time in his goodbye note). I also feel like I remember a clip from one of the UK shows where he did seem a little choked up after one of the songs (I think it was It's You but I can't 100% remember).

All of this to say, I perceive Zayn as someone who is deeply emotional but very practiced at veiling the details through his music, and also committed to doing a good job as a performer in this new grown era he's in. He chose his own setlist, and there's no doubt in my mind that a lot of these songs are Liam songs, especially It's You because he explicitly dedicated it to Liam during the Wolverhampton show. Rather than be crushed by sadness in performing them, I think the chance to honor and celebrate Liam's spirit and the connection they shared is a positive thing for Zayn, a conscious choice he made for himself and for us and for Liam ❤️💛

there’s quite the convo that was going on on twitter today, which is super interesting to me, because it’s brought up often and usually from newer members to the fandom, particularly solos. we’ve been talking about this for years. so… idk, let’s talk.

this convo is of the gist that Larries made Harry and louis stop interacting due to our interest in them being together. we, apparently, are the ones who made either mgmt, or Harry and Louis themselves, entirely separate and go from best friends to absolutely nothing. and when I say absolutely nothing, like… they were so distanced it was ridiculous.

but here’s the thing… if you weren’t around at the time (there’s no issue with that btw!), ziam was the second biggest ship after larry. A bunch of Larries shipped ziam, and a lot of larry antis shipped ziam, as well as ziam having their own following regardless of larry. And yes, I was there, so im fully aware ziam wasn’t as big as Larry, but they were definitely a close second as far as “ships” go. there was also narry, zarry, lilo, and all the others, but larry and ziam dominated.

But… funnily enough, ziam weren’t separating due to a large speculation of them being in a relationship. it was printed and posted in multiple formats that zayn had said in an interview he told Liam to kiss him and he did (early days, yes), and they really gave off relationship vibes for a long time there, but they were still close and interacting very lovingly throughout the entirety of 1d. and regardless of your stance on ziam, they were clearly very close.

The thing with this is, is that gay rumours can be harmful to a fanbase with a demographic of young women, who the idea is to make the band desirable for women to be with to keep them interested etc., we’re all aware of that, but why wasn’t ziam separated? why weren’t all the boys asked to be super straight with each other? why was it so intense with larry?

Because if you don’t have anything to hide, you don’t hide anything. ziam still were carrying on in front of our faces while larry went through a multitude of stunts (that antis and now some solos also believed were stunts), and were so strictly kept apart that it was blindingly obvious something was going on. To make it seem the most real, you’d have all the boys being laddy bro pals with one another. but it was specifically larry who were extremely drastically pushed apart. of course there was no public “fight” printed to give us a reason as to why they became so far apart (that would signal an end to the band and worry etc.) to make sense of it, but they just were forced in their own lanes. anyone with two eyes can see that, and you could easily tell if they hated each other or not. but the small moments they did interact, showed us otherwise.

anyway, it’s very important to note that ziam did not stop being ziam regardless of the rumours, but larry did stop being larry drastically. they’re not homophobes, they weren’t scared of encouraging the rumours (AIMH and all the playful tweets and interactions), but they were clearly separated when larry kept being talked about further down the track. and if you can’t see that, well you may need to reevaluate and use some critical thinking. it’s happened before 1d too, it’s not rocket science.

anyway, sorry for the rant. it’s just frustrating when I see this convo when we’ve had it over and over again. so, for all the newer larries,if you haven’t already, take this into consideration as one of the very biggest pieces of larry evidence we have. because, well, it is. it may seem insignificant as it’s not a “moment”, but rather it’s a long and ongoing piece of evidence that there was something to hide, so they hid it. and they still do.

“Don’t say that, Z.,” Harry whispers. He sounds out of breath and seems unsure. Louis smells he’s getting more nervous by the second.

“Why, H? It’s the truth.”

“Zayn,” Louis interjects. He knows very well he can defend himself. “Did you forget that I don’t give a shit about that, huh? I thought you could come up with something more…creative.”

Louis's eyes flicker over to Harry, his gaze lingering for just a moment. His alpha kicks in his chest, when the smell of Harry's distress reaches the subtle scent of unease wafting through the air. Without saying a word, Louis knows that it should be his turn to step in, to offer comfort and protection.

“None of this creative nonsense, Louis,” Zayn says, “You’ve never been worthy.”

And this might as well be said inside his mind, because he feels the world grow suffocatingly quiet, as if the air itself has been sucked away. Shadows creep along the walls, devouring any trace of light.

how do you navigate your feelings towards ziam and cheryl/bear/kate/maya on top of this immense grief? i don't mean to be insensitive but i haven't found an answer for myself yet, i can't believe we'll never get answers now

(To anyone seeing this, read until the end before saying anything thank you.) Well. I'm gonna ramble a bit but bear with me. Spotify played Let Me and Common on shuffle the other day and I cried a bit. It's unfair. It should've never ended this way. But I had already accepted ages ago that we might never know the truth. I still have my beliefs. That Zayn and Liam were together. Maybe they had broken up who knows but if they did then I still truly believe their bond was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I've gone through so many emotions this past week. But seeing the posts of cheryl etcetc or people mentioning bear (Zayn was the only one who didn't fwiw), it didn't make me feel anything. Maybe bc I had already accepted we couldn't do anything about the stunts, and/or maybe bc it's still difficult for me to accept he's really gone or bc it doesn't matter to me at this moment. Or bc I haven't actually sat down to think about what it means that he's gone. I've just been thinking of the pain all of Liam's loved ones are in right now and will be in for the foreseeable future. And I include Zayn in this. I also don't really want to think about it bc I think I might get angry. We've all seen Liam's video on snapchat from last month, where he said he was stunting and forced to do things he didn't want to do and to send help. I often used to say that I didn't understand why the boys accepted this situation instead of just getting out, consequences be damned. Ofc it's easier said than done. But I thought maybe they thought it was worth it in some way. But then, Louis got out. Zayn got out. (In some way, I mean they have privacy and a real career, like Niall and Harry). I guess I will never understand why Liam was still the only one so stuck in this shitty situation. Why couldn't he live his life in peace like Zayn and only appear when he released music? Why couldn't he find a better team or why did he even accept to go along for so long? Why did people let him? Why?! That's what I want to know. Fucking why. And I want Liam's image/reputation to be redeemed. Anyway I digressed I'm sorry.

I just sincerely hope Zayn will be ok. Jaymi who was in Union J lost his soon-to-be-husband a couple months ago (Olly was buried the day they were supposed to get married last month). They'd been together for 14 years. And Olly died in similar circumstances (a fall from the 3rd floor of a hotel). And as incredibly awful as this is, knowing that other people are going through similar grief helps a bit, and I hope it will help Zayn and Liam's loved ones know they're not alone. (Edit: I'm not saying these deaths are linked, Olly's death is an accident, Jaymi was there when it happened. This paragraph is about not being fully alone in grief because other ppl go through similar things).

Idek if I've answered your question. I guess basically the stunts don't cross my mind coz it's not important to me. These past few years when Liam was alive it wasn't important (tho I hated it) bc I accepted the boys made their own choices. And now it's not important bc it won't bring Liam back and bc his loved ones matter more to me. Now, if I'm actually wrong about my beliefs then it is what it is and I feel for his exes/gf/child, and if the maya thing is true I still think addiction made him act that way and that if he'd got a chance to really get better this wouldn't have happened again. If I'm not wrong tho, I truly feel for Zayn who doesn't get to grieve the way he deserves to. Tho I'm glad he has loved ones who know the truth and who can support him the right way.

Art Styles: Moodboards, Gifsets. i can attempt gif manips (you can find some in my creations) but it might take a bit of time to make those.

Preferences: any topic that isn’t too specific is fine with me as it’s sometimes hard to look for clear footage of certain things. as for ships, i’d prefer any within the 1d boys, and only louis rare pairs. as for girl direction, i can attempt to make something with gifs but it wouldn’t include faces.

Will NOT create: no full faces of kids, no underage (<18), no age regression, no daddy kink, no rape (even if it’s not between the main pairing), no incest/selfcest. i can’t think of anything else at the moment but i’m willing to talk to the author before deciding if i can help with their visuals or not.

Timeline: if they only want moodboards with pics, it can be two days prior. if they want a simple gifset (not specific footage), five days prior. if it’s a very specific topic and it must be included in their visuals or if it’s a gif manip, one to two weeks prior. they can contact me way before their deadline, it’s better to give them more options.

Hey guys. Posting here on Tumblr is kind of new to me, but... After Liam's death, I felt like I needed to write with him to be able to — maybe — ease the pain his death caused me. And so, that's when I decided to write about Ziam. And so today, I decided to share with you a little bit of that story. Let me know if you guys like it.

The story takes place in the year 2023, some facts are completely my invention and others, I adapted to look good in the fanfic.

Unspoken Words | Ziam

Prologue

Liam adjusted his watch as he took in the sight of the aging building before him. The old community school, with its peeling walls and windows stained by time, was far from impressive, yet it had something genuine about it—almost welcoming. He took a deep breath, feeling the crisp late-afternoon air, before stepping through the gate.

There was something special about this kind of work. He knew that his name and face could bring visibility to the charity event, but for Liam, it was more than that. He wanted to be part of something that truly mattered, far from the stage lights and the relentless questions of the tabloids.

Inside, the place was buzzing with activity. Volunteers carried boxes of food, arranged tables, and checked lists. The scent of fresh paint lingered in the air, mingling with the sweet aroma of homemade cookies that some of the community mothers had baked for the fundraiser.

Liam smiled as a young woman with curly hair greeted him and led him toward the backstage area.

“You can use this room to rest before your presentation,” she said, pointing to a door at the end of the hallway. “I’ll come get you when we’re ready to start.”

Liam thanked her with a nod and, after a few more steps, opened the door she had indicated. The room smelled different from the rest of the building—slightly stuffy, with hints of old paper and worn wood. He barely had time to take in his surroundings before realizing he wasn’t alone.

A figure sat on the couch, facing away from him, head tilted forward. Liam couldn’t see his face, but he recognized the short dark hair, the tense shoulders, and the slightly hunched posture—like someone trying to disappear into the background.

Liam froze.

It can’t be.

The figure lifted his head and slowly turned, confirming what Liam already knew.

Zayn Malik was there.

For a moment, neither of them spoke. It was as if time had stopped, as if the narrow room was pressing in on them with an unbearable silence. Zayn looked different. The outline of his beard framed a face that seemed older, more tired. But at the same time, his eyes still had that familiar spark—it was still him, and the realization hit Liam like a punch.

Zayn was the first to break the silence, his voice low and almost casual, as if this weren’t as strange as it felt.

“Liam.”

His name hung in the air, heavy with unspoken memories. Liam blinked a few times, trying to gather his thoughts.

“Zayn?” he asked, as if he needed confirmation, even though he already knew.

Zayn gave a small, almost imperceptible smile and turned his attention back to the notebook in his hands. The cover was covered in scribbles—drawings and words that Liam couldn’t make out.

“I didn’t think we’d ever see each other again.”

“Me neither,” Liam admitted, carefully closing the door behind him. He hesitated before stepping forward, keeping a safe distance. “What are you doing here?”

Zayn looked up again, his eyes now carrying a glint Liam couldn’t quite read.

“I volunteered. Nothing big. Just thought it’d be good to help out.” He shrugged, as if his presence there was nothing unusual, then lowered his gaze back to the notebook.

Liam nodded slowly, crossing his arms. He wanted to say something—anything—but the words felt stuck in his throat. It had been so long, and there was so much between them that he didn’t know where to start.

“You’ve changed,” he finally said, without thinking too much about it.

Zayn let out a quiet chuckle, not looking up.

“And you still say things you don’t have to. Some things never change.”

There was a lightness in his tone, almost teasing, but Liam could feel the weight beneath it. Before he could respond, Zayn closed the notebook and tossed it into a backpack on the floor.

“Don’t worry, I won’t get in your way tonight.” He walked past Liam with steady steps, but just as he reached the door, he paused. “I’m only here for the kids.”

And then he was gone, leaving Liam standing in the middle of the room, the weight of the past and the unexpected reunion settling over him like a shadow.
