Lastly, it’s undeniable that Zeus has a long history of assaulting and mistreating women. Everyone has their beliefs on the matter and I think it is entirely possible to worship/work with a god while fully acknowledging the messy past. Furthermore, as I dive deeper into the history surrounding the myths I gain a better understanding of the factors surrounding Zeus’s philandering, like the synchronization of Gods and Goddesses across religions and how Zeus likely assimilated past male deities and the people of the time created the stories of his many affairs to explain this merging.
There’s no way to justify the raping by our human standards. That being said, I don’t think it’s cause to completely shut Him out. He is the King of the Gods, the Bringer of Life! Surely that is something to celebrate.
With all that, some final acts that support women:
Believing victims
Donating/volunteering at women's shelters
Learning the signs of domestic abuse
Learning and acknowledging red flags in a partner
Talking to friends about any major red flags you’re concerned about with their partner
Advocating for women’s rights
Learning about domestic abuse/rape/abortion services in your area
Hoping this is helpful to someone! I see very few posts for Zeus on here.

I asked Lord Zeus to stop the rain so I could get home mostly dry, and he did!! It was so cool. I will be putting the laundry away tomorrow as thanks because 1- I mostly interact with his Ktêsios (household) aspect, and 2- I slipped and feel because of mud and got some owies. But till then, I think some thunder sounds is in order.

Can't wait for when Percy tells the gods to pay their child support. I feel like Zeus is gonna have the absolute ANGRIEST face and Mr D is gonna be trying not to laugh because he's known this kid for years now and he knows not to expect anything else from him

I haven't read the Odyssey so I'm asking you. Are you telling me besides Athena, Apollo was the god who helped Odysseus and his family the most? Indirectly at least.
If that's true it's really a missed opportunity in EPIC.
No, no, the god who assists Odysseus the most after Athena is unquestionably Zeus.
Zeus genuinely has no problems with Odysseus and makes it very clear that he finds the man brilliant and would have already had him home and safe if he had his way, but he makes it clear that he's deferring to Poseidon who actually has the problem with Odysseus because, ultimately, the sea is Poseidon's domain and kingdom and Zeus doesn't intend to step on his brother's toes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Od. Book 1 trans. Robert Fitzgerald)
I'd definitely give third place to Apollo however. The big bug-bear about Apollo in the Odyssey is just that he's much less tangible than Athena or even Hermes who appears to Odysseus multiple times to help guide him/give him proclamations. His presence is everywhere though; like I've previously mentioned (and like he did with Jason) it's Apollo protecting Odysseus from Poseidon as he sails the sea after Odysseus blinds Polyphemus. It's also Apollo keeping Telemachus safe. His most vital role by far is when Odysseus returns to Ithaca in time for the challenge that will determine the next king. Not only is it a shooting contest whose first hurdle is to string a bow, the challenge itself takes place on a festival day for Apollo. Athena is there with Odysseus and Telemachus physically, but Apollo is looking after them in spirit, sending signs and signals to keep Telemachus especially safe.
Tumblr media
(Od. Book 15, Telemachus warns about the state of Odysseus' house to Theoclymenus, a son of one of Apollo's prophets.)
There's also the fact that Odysseus makes sure to pray to Apollo before he attempts to string the bow:
Tumblr media
(Od. Book 21. Beggar-Odysseus petitions to shoot his shot)
Likewise, before he slays the first suitor, Odysseus again prays for Apollo's guidance and gaze to guide his arrows:
Tumblr media
(Od. Book 22. Odysseus commits the first of many (divinely-sanctioned) murders)
Also, as an additional thing, have Telemachus invoking Zeus, Athena and Apollo that he could see the suitors have their asses beat:
Tumblr media
(Od. Book 18. Telemachus excitedly gushes to him mom about his cool new friend (Odysseus. Odysseus is the friend.)
There's a lot of minimisation of Apollo's role in the Odyssey because it isn't as bright and showy as his role was in the Iliad but hey, even there people tend to minimise how truly present Apollo is for the duration of the war when they're doing adaptations. Within Epic, the stage is already more than set for both Apollo and Athena to be there at the advent of Odysseus' revenge but none of that matters if that's not the creator's intention, y'know?

My altar for Noumenia and Agathos Daimon, Gamelion 2024. Highest and central, we have Zeus Ktesios, He who brings bounty into our home. To the left is Hestia, who is eternally due a portion of all offerings. To the right is my Agathos Daimon, in the form of a cobra, which I consider an especially sacred snake. My libation is some delicious coffee and my offering is Gala apples (my favorite) and lavender colored daisies. My kathiskos for the month is also on the altar. When I move Zeus back to His regular place in my kitchen, the kathiskos will go too.
I burned a combination of royal amber, frankincense, and sandalwood oil, which actually caught on fire because I didn't realize I had gotten oil on the outside of the burner. It just isn't January without my annual Practice Fire Safety, Dumbass!!! reminder.
I separate my kathiskos into liquid and solid to prevent spoilage.

People in the fandom will really call Poseidon a deadbeat dad but completely forget/ignore that Sally said she didn't want him to take care of her son.

Since it's Thursday for me
I felt like giving Zeus an digital offering
Yes I don't honour, worship or devoted to Zeus but since I am devoted to his children hermes, persephone and athena (I know Aphroditeis.said to be the daughter of him but I believe the other myth of her being birthed from Uranus)and his sister Hestia I thought I should show him some love
Also I had some dreams about thunder and lightning and well I think it was a giant ass staue of him aswell
