Tolkien LOTR vs George Lucas STAR WARS
Disclaimer: talking with mutuals about Tolkien and Lucas this came up and wanted to share.
I believe both Tolkien and Lucas were anti imperialism(represented by the ring/empire respectively) and anti war but their takes is completely different because they lived different times.
Tolkien story of the lost kings who died for nothing seeking power represents pretty well the story of the first World War in which the imperial powers of Europe became excited over their new hability to put ot test weapons and made a local conflict into an all out war between countries exploiting the nationalism of the people to push them towards war, the tirednes and dissapointment over fighting a war for men who only wanted power is excelently interpreted in the Lord of the Rings in which the only solution is to destroy the ring and try to live peacefully with each other and support honest work and protect lives the best way you can, with wise kings and wise elves who care about people and it´s well being. That´s what I see Tolkien going for, he also tackles the idea that no matter how noble or peaceful like Fredo or Bilbo we could be, power still can corrupts us if we expend enough time around it. Power can corrupt everybody and the best we can do is try to not make it the most important thing in our lifes like Aragorn did when he became King.
Lucas wasn´t a soldier like Tolkien so he is much more idealist than him, he grew up and became excited over the protests for the war of Vietnam in the US and the consequences of WWII with the creation of the atomic bomb. So Star Wars battle in the OT isn´t just about greedy people trying to get power by any mean neccesary, the first trilogy is about a fair war fought agaisnt the imperial power who offered peace in exchange of freedom, which is another face imperialism can take and the death star(atomic bomb) is the one weapon they believe can “end all resistance” "end all wars" but they are wrong because just like in a New Hope, the Death Star only makes other people more nervous about it´s use and most will seek how to oppose it with similar means or with different kinds of resistence.
Star Wars presents the problematic dilema of war not being good on itself but becoming neccesary when your opponent will not engage in dialogue by any other means, so just like in LOTR the kingdoms have to join to form a military, the rebel alliance is there to fight the Empire.
The Jedi Order in the OT represents the old order, estatus quo that the Empire defeated to put their own Order, they are not evil by any means but by presenting a “ends justifices the means” philosophy by lying to Luke and forgetting about Anakin´s humanity and existence in exchange of dehumanizing him and seeing him only as a machine like Obi-Wan did, this doesn´t bring them the victory, mostly their plan gets revealed and rejected by Luke, the main hero of the OT, the fandom may have a very different take on the Jedi but Lucas definitely didn´t write the Jedi as flawless beings but as a tragic order that after the zenit of their power fell along with Anakin, literally and espiritually too. Otherwise Lucas would not talk about Anakin being a victim of the system who lost his mind trying to do the right thing, he wasn´t just part of the Republic but also part of the Jedi Order.
Luke, while dealing with his own feelings of anger, need for revenge for his murdered family and wish for freedom along with his friends, also learns humility by losing his first fight with Vader but also empathy, he has feel the darkness inside himself, he was told his father wasn´t always like that and he has felt Vader´s twisted love for him so he humanizes his enemy instead of dehumanizing him and seeks to save him from the darkside, because this has become the only way to defeat Vader and the Emperor while they are together and also because Luke wants Vader to be his father just as much as Vader wants Luke to be his Son.
So in the end family is the thing that saves the universe in Star Wars just like friendship, care, empathy and appreciation of the simple and beautiful things saved the people of LOTR. The Jedi imo in the PT and OT were not evil, they had their own wisdom and brought good things to the story like honor and duty but they were wrong to try to force Luke agaisn´t his father, they were wrong for keeping Anakin away from his family and they were wrong to forget love in exchange of duty.
This is also why I believe Luke doesn´t just brings back Anakin from the darkside, he did the same with the Jedi Order, he became the kind of Jedi Anakin always dreamed to be, with enough freedom to act with kindness, love and caring as well as honor and duty, a more balanced Jedi Order.
So it´s a complete shame disney missed the memo and makes more merchandise of the Jedi because they are more marketable forgetting the deep message of the story. Luke in the Mandalorian and ST isn´t ROTJ Luke, but a badly done PT Jedi style of Luke and that´s a complete tragedy imo because it misses the main message of the story, that you don´t have to reject love and family to support ideals and do your duty. They make you whole not less the person you are.

According to LoreMaster (the person on the Just dance team who answers the lore of some dances) Chitsuki (Kill Bill) possessed Michiya (Zenit) to purify his soul. Night Swan probably learned from Chitsuki how to have coaches
I really like the lore in general, so when I saw the story of 24 I was very happy, but at the same time with a feeling of trepidation And honestly, I hope the ending is a season, I don't want to wait a whole year to see how it ends -
WE ALL KNOW THAT DISCOBALL IS THE MONITOR NANNY THAT TRAVELLER MADE TO MONITOR WANDERLUST, AND AT THE END OF CANNED HEAT NIGHT SWAN TAKES CONTROL OF DISCOBALL AND STARTED MONITORING THE OTHER JUST DANCERS
I think that in Just Dance 2025, Jack Rose will somehow try to contact Wanderlust's father (since Traveler can travel through the Danceverse) to warn him of what happened to his son and they will both go after the mother of Wanderlust and a few other Just dancers.
I still think that if wanderlust's parents stay together for too long their power could collapse the danceverse they are in (which didn't even almost happen in save your tears)
I literally couldn't sleep with this hook that Ubisoft made in JD2024. I imagine that in JD2025, Jack Rose will actually be able to find someone to help him save everyone. But here come two of my theories: Either the story ends in JD2025, or Ubisoft makes another cliffhanger in JD2025, continuing the end of the story only in JD2026. That's what I say
I had understood from the director's interview with Dina that she tore up the poster at the beginning because only she and Nightswan have the ability to use flow, but Nightswan decided to use this for evil, which disappointed Mihaly, implying For me too, in the past they were united in some way
I think that Night Swan was actually famous in the Danceverse, and that's why Jack rose there has this desire to be famous, because his mother inspired him by being
famous
I have to say the betas Sweet Dreams and Lose Yourself that were removed would have gone well with the lore
PARALLELS BETWEEN SWAN LAKE AND JUST DANCE 2024
-Usually, Odette (white swan) and Odille (black swan) are played by the same dancer. Sara and Night Swan are played by the same dancer
-The wizard Rothbart bewitched Odette to become a swan. In you should see me in a crown, Night Swan bewitched Sara to become evil
-It might just be a coincidence, but Sara has four letters and starts with "S" (swan)
-Sara in Hebrew means "lady, princess, noble woman". Odette is a princess
-Odille pretended to be Odette to deceive Prince Siegfried and get his hand in marriage. In Canned Heat, Night Swan pretended to be Sara to trick Wanderlust (who also has the title of prince) and steal the Discoball.
DEPENDING ON THE VERSION, SWAN LAKE HAS DIFFERENT ENDINGS (from the saddest to the happiest):
Ending 1-Siegfried dies trying to defeat Rothbart and Odette remains with the swan curse forever
Ending 2-Odette and Siegfried drown together, their souls are freed from the curse and they can finally be together in the afterlife
Ending 3-Siegfried defeats Rothbart, Odette has her curse broken and they get married
Which ending do you think you will choose for Just Dance 2025?
I would choose 3, the happiest ending. Night Swan defeated once and for all, the Danceverses at peace, and Wanderlust abdicating his responsibilities as the
"Chosen" to live happily on Earth with Sara.
So, I think a song that would go super well with some music for 25's lore would be 'Swan Song' by Dua Lipa, it would be awesome
Yesssss! This song is an anthem, one that Ubisoft could use. I imagine it as being a new solo map for Siha Nova, sad and horrified by what happened with Wanderlust but little by little finding the courage to face her own son and break Night Swan's spell over him.
I still can't believe that the rock your body coach brutalized the levitation coach and left
Went to get a cigarette and disappeared lol
Next year the story should start with lose yourself and after this song he tries to recruit more people in eternyx even maybe
think that in jd25 the first two songs will show that jack rose became a drug dealer lol with lose yourself and the next one (or even before lose yourself) is sweet dreams showing the past of night swan and the next ones I don't know
which is also part of the story, but this song is the beginning of the future, so I don't know if it will be in the continuation of the next game or if it is part of this one, because there are also 2 more songs from the lore
I saw a theory that says that in Just Dance 2025, Jack Rose will save the other coaches with the help of The Traveler (Rock Your Body) and Si'Ha Nova (Levitating). Or maybe with a new coach maybe Jack's father
speaking of which, another theory is that Jack Rose's father is Crimson (Sail).
-They both have red hair
-They have similar dance moves (Jack may have learned from his father)
-Probably he and Night Swan had a very troubled relationship and they separated....
I have a theory that's a little heavy but it's valid, at the beginning of sail Crimson wakes up tied to the ground and following this theory maybe the night swan trapped him in the boat and also towards the end of Sail the boat starts to pick up and he wasn't the one who put it since he was dancing so maybe the night swan wanted to kill her own
what happened to Night Swan trying to kill her own husband?
I think it's because Crimson and Night Swan had different dreams and goals and he didn't agree with her plans to dominate the
Danceverses and create a perfect universe
What I think could happen: Jack Rose finds three more powerful coaches to defeat Night Swan
I've seen two theories:
-The Traveler (Rock Your Body) and Si'Ha Nova (Levitating) will help Jack
-Jack will have the help of his father (probably Crimson de Sail, but it has not been confirmed until now who his father is)
I think Wonderley's father will come back The way Ubi likes to recycle, they will probably come back
#jd si’ha nova#jd the traveler#just dance 2024#just dance 2023#just dance 2022#jd wanderlust#jd mihaly#jd sara#jd brezziana#jack rose jd

🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 🪖💥 🚨
AFU DEFENSES COLLAPSING IN AVDIIVKA, CITY ON THE VERGE OF LOSING LAST SUPPLY LINE
Various reports coming in from across Ukrainian and Russian media, from independent and mainstream sources both, reporting the collapse of Ukrainian defenses and key fortified positions in the city of Avdiivka, in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), in the East of Ukraine.
According to early reports in mainstream Ukrainian media, the Armed Forces of Ukraine abandoned a key defensive position in the south of Avdiivka, from a fortified position known as "Zenit".
Commander of the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, is quoted as saying, "After months of fighting, the Tavriia Operational Strategic Group leadership has taken the decision to withdraw from the Zenit position to the southeastern outskirts of Avdiivka. We held this position for as long as it enabled us to effectively deter and destroy the enemy."
Tarnavskyi claims the withdrawal was made to "protect personnel and improve operational conditions," adding that the supply of troops in new positions is currently underway and that there are plans for the reinforcement of units.
Another report in the Ukrainian new agency Strana says some units of the AFU are under immediate threat of encirclement by advancing Russian forces in the southern part of Avdiivka, while in the north, one unit from the third assault brigade posted a video showing themselves hold out in the basement of the Coke plant.
However, Russian forces on the ground are reporting that the soldiers of the AFU are actually fleeing through the south of Avdiivka, in groups of 10 and 20 soldiers to provide less value to the use of artillery shells, but reports of intense bombing and shelling continue unabated. Instead, Russian artillery and FAB bombs are pulverizing fleeing Ukrainian Units who do not surrender, with disturbing reports that the corpses of Ukrainian soldiers are strewn across their southern positions.
Russian independent media is also reporting upwards of 100 large FAB bombs being dropped every day on the positions of Ukrainian forces in Avdiivka, with about 30 FAB bombs falling on the Avdiivka Koksokhim, in the area of the largest coke plant in Europe, just today.
Video also shows Russian forces taking the Avdiivka City Park and clinic, raising the flags for the Russian Republic of Tuva alongside the flag for the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Earlier, video posted by independent Russian media, with ties to military units, showing Russian forces belonging to the 1st Slavic Brigade taking the Ukrainian fortified defensive position known to Russian forces as the "Chaburashka" position, named after its resemblance on a map to the Russian cartoon character.
At the same time, Russian forces continue to press into the east and south of Novomykhailivka, just south of Avdiivka, in the south of Donetsk, and pushing towards the center of the village, with rumors spreading that the AFU is on the verge of pulling back from the village.
According to a TASS report, Yan Gagin, advisor to the head of the DPR, speaking in an interview with Russian television Channel One, said that Russian forces were pressing all along the Frontline in the South Donetsk direction.
"The frontline area from Ugledar to Artyomovsk can be considered as the Donetsk direction. We now have quite a serious success along this frontline. This success has been for a long time and we are now capitalizing on it," Gagin said.
Speaking about the newly appointed commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Alexsandr Syrsky, Gagin said of Syrsky that he "absolutely has no regard for casualties, as if he pursues the task of destroying as many Ukrainians as possible."
"Syrsky [in this regard] cannot surprise anyone as he acts in his usual manner: he throws people, like splinters, into a fire, as was the case in the Debaltsevo encirclement and in the Artyomovsk trap," Gagin added.

Logos and Pathos (Book 3) Chapter Seventeen
TOS! Spock x Empath! Reader
Chapter Seventeen: Violent Clouds
Summary: A Disrupter attempts to kill Kirk, and the group makes a few discoveries about Stratos.
“Spock! (L/N)!” shouted Kirk.
(Y/N) and Spock woke abruptly at the call and sat up. They were on their feet in an instance and ran across the hall to Kirk’s room. Droxine appeared right after them. they found Kirk standing across from a woman in a long blue dress in the same style as Droxine. However, (Y/N) recognized her as the same woman they had encountered before on the surface of Ardana—the disruptor.
“Vanna!” cried Droxine, recognizing the woman.
“Droxine,” replied Vanna coldly, irritation flaring in her emotions.
“Why have you come here?” questioned Droxine.
“To welcome our honored guest as I was taught to do when I served in your father’s household,” said Vanna.
“Has she injured you, Captain?” asked Droxine.
“No, not at all,” said Kirk. “In fact, her visit was quite enlightening.”
“Oh?” Droxine furrowed her brow.
“Yes, it seems the Troglytes are under the impression that the Enterprise is here to intimidate them,” said Kirk.
“Intimidate them?” repeated (Y/N), surprised.
Droxine whirled and pressed a communications button. “Send a sentinel to the rest chamber immediately. We have a Troglyte who has committed a crime and must be questioned.”
“It is not an impression,” said Vanna stubbornly.
“It’s the truth,” said (Y/N) calmly, their usual peacefulness and level-headedness coming through. “We’re here for the zenite consignment. That’s it.”
“Starships do not transport cargo,” said Vanna.
“In times of emergency, they do anything,” said Kirk. “And believe me, this botanical plague is an emergency.”
“Lies will not keep the Troglytes in the caverns, and neither will your starship,” snapped Vanna angrily.
“You talk like a Disruptor, Vanna!” cried Droxine.
(Y/N) cocked their head. It seemed Droxine didn’t recognize Vanna. Of course, Droxine obviously never saw Troglytes down below or even been off Stratos, so it made sense.
“I speak for my people,” said Vanna evenly. “They have as much right to the clouds as the Stratos dwellers.”
Droxine seemed surprised at the suggestion. “Stratos is for Advisors and Studiers. What would Troglytes do here?”
“Live…in the sunlight and warmth as everyone should,” said Vanna, and her emotions surged with defiance and an aching pain for what she didn’t have.
(Y/N)’s eyes softened as they felt everything Vanna wanted.
“The caverns are warm,” said Droxine. “And your eyes are not accustomed to the light. Just as your minds are not accustomed to logic.”
(Y/N) raised an eyebrow. They exchanged a look with Spock. This inequality was clearly entrenched in the system of Ardana, to the point where those with privilege couldn’t even realize there was something wrong since it felt normal to them. The discrimination felt natural to them. Neither (Y/N) nor Spock were impressed or pleased with Stratos living on such ideals.
Vanna’s anger flared, but before she could respond, a sentinel walked into the room and pulled Vanna out of the room.
“Unaccustomed to light and warmth?” questioned Kirk, turning on Droxine. He frowned. “That’s necessary to all humanoids. Surely you don’t deny it to the Troglytes?”
“The Trogyltes are workers,” said Droxine with a light laugh as if it was silly to suggest otherwise. “Oh, surely you must be aware of that. They mine zenite for shipment, till the zoil. Those things cannot be done here.”
“In other words, they perform all the physical toil necessary to maintain Stratos,” said Spock. From his even stare, (Y/N) could tell that he disapproved.
“That is their function in our society,” said Droxine.
“But they get no share of the rewards,” said (Y/N).
“How can they share what they do not understand?” asked Droxine.
“They clearly see that they want more,” said (Y/N). “The Disruptors existing proves they know understand. And in a society that prides itself in enlightenment, surely that is clear. And anything you believe they lack can easily be taught.”
“The complete separation of leisure and toil has given Ardana this perfectly balanced social system,” said Droxine. “Why should we change it?”
“The surface of the planet is almost unendurable,” said Spock. “To restrict a segment of the population to such hardship is unthinkable in an evolved culture.”
“The surface is marred by violence, like the Troglytes,” said Droxine, incredulous the Starfleet officers thought their way of life unsupportable. “Here in Stratos, we have completely eliminated violence.” She smiled before turning and leaving the room.
Spock raised an eyebrow. “Fascinating. They have been separated from the surface for so long that they are unable to see issues in their separation.”
“They even think it should be this way,” murmured (Y/N), frowning.
“I can’t believe it. It’s just so wrong,” said Kirk.
“It is even in their words. Troglyte is an abbreviation of a common word from ancient times,” said Spock. “Its technical translation is ‘cave dweller.’ ”
“Yes, I should have realized,” said Kirk.
A scream pierced the air, and the group’s head shot towards the door. A second later, fear and agony rushed over (Y/N) and pricked at their arms. Their eyes widened, and they ran out of the room with Spock and Kirk.
They ran into a hall and found Droxine and Plasus staring at where Vanna was strapped to a rock and rays of energy were hitting her. (Y/N) winced as they felt her pain, and Spock glanced at them to watch for any further issues.
“Mr. Advisor!” cried Kirk.
The rays turned off, and Vanna’s head dropped down in exhaustion. Droxine looked away shamefully.
“You said you were going to question Vanna, not torture her,” said Kirk.
“She’s stubborn,” said Plasus as if that was an acceptable response. “And as you yourself pointed out, Captain, the search for your zenite consignment must be short.”
“Torture should not even be considered,” said (Y/N).
“Physical discomfort is extremely persuasive,” said Plasus.
“We won’t stand by while someone is tortured,” said Kirk firmly, narrowing his eyes.
“Is it preferable to spare Vanna and allow an entire planet to be destroyed?” questioned Plasus.
“Violence in reality is quite different from theory,” said Spock.
“But what else can they understand, Mr. Spock?” asked Droxine in confusion.
Spock raised an eyebrow in a display of incredulity. “All the little things you and I understand and expect from life, such as equality, kindness, justice.”
“Troglytes are not like Stratos dwellers, Mr. Spock,” said Plasus. “They’re a conglomerate of inferior species. The abstract concepts of an intellectual society are beyond their comprehension.”
“Loyalty and leadership are clear to Vanna. I see no reason they aren’t clear to anyone else on the surface of Ardana,” said (Y/N).
“A few Troglytes are brought here as retainers. Vanna was one of them, as are the sentinels. They receive more training than the others,” said Plasus as if that set them apart from the rest.
“But obviously no more consideration,” said Kirk pointedly.
“I fail to see the purpose of this continued criticism,” said Plasus in exasperation, and (Y/N) narrowed their eyes as they felt how irritated he was with them as if he wasn’t discriminating against a whole group of people for no reason.
“The only way you’ll use that device again is on one of us,” snapped Kirk.
“An imposing display of primitive gallantry,” said Plasus. “You realize, of course, that the sentinels could remove you.”
“Of course,” said (Y/N), folding their arms. “But Starfleet Command won’t take kindly to having rays or physical force used against its officers by a member of the Federation, Mr. Advisor.”
“Why are you so concerned with the Disruptor’s wellbeing?” questioned Plasus, glancing at Vanna.
“Beyond plain humanitarianism, my orders are to get that zenite,” said Kirk, frustrated.
“Then stop interfering, and I’ll get it for you,” snapped Plasus.
“You won’t get it through torture,” said Kirk firmly.
“We will get it for you and in our own way!” shouted Plasus. He looked at the sentinels. “Remove the prisoner to confinement quarters.” They took down Vanna and took her away.
(Y/N) narrowed their eyes. So, they not only did have violence on Stratos, they had prisons, too. It appeared most of the claimed culture and peace there was a front.
Plasus turned on the Starfleet officers. “You will return to your ship at once, or I shall contact your Starfleet Command myself and report your interference with this planet’s government.”
The trio exchanged looks. They didn’t have an option. Kirk gritted his teeth and pulled out his communicator.
“Kirk to Enterprise,” he said sourly.
“Enterprise, Captain,” said Scotty.
“We’re ready to beam up, Scotty,” said Kirk.
“Aye, sir,” said Scotty, and Kirk switched off the communicator.
Kirk, Spock, and (Y/N) stared evenly at Plasus as they dematerialized. He stared back with narrowed eyes and an angry aura.
l
Kirk sat sullenly in his chair as the Enterprise orbited Ardana without any news from Stratos or the surface. (Y/N) and Spock went about their work, but they too were subdued (though Spock was as efficient as ever, (Y/N) could see his eyes going to the viewing screen as frequently as theirs did). The zenite consignment had been missing for eight hours, and the botanical plague was spreading on Merak II. They needed to make their delivery in twelve hours to stop all life from being annihilated.
“Lieutenant (L/N), report to Starfleet Command that the zenite has not been delivered,” said Kirk. “In my opinion, Plasus’s method of accomplishing delivery will not succeed. If the zenite is not delivered shortly, I shall have to violate Plasus’s order of noninterference and win the confidence of the Troglyte leader with the use of reason.”
(Y/N) sent the message, and they and Spock turned around to look at Kirk as he made his decision.
“That may not be easy, Jim,” said Bones.
Kirk shrugged. “The Stratos dwellers claim they are mentally inferior, but the Troglytes have accepted personal sacrifice, common cause. Mentally inferior beings are incapable of that.”
“The data all comes from the Stratos dwellers, as well. Anything about their intelligence comes from not getting the schooling of a Stratos dweller,” said (Y/N), nodding.
“Additionally, they are all the same species. Those who reside on Stratos and those who live below both originated on the planet,” added Spock. “Their physical and mental evolution must be similar. That is basic biological law.”
“Even if the mines change some aspects, the life and changes are still be forced upon them,” said (Y/N).
“Well, I know some changes that occurred,” said Bones.
“Really? What?” asked Kirk.
“Natural growths.” Bones held up a cannister. “I had a zenite sample sent up from the surface. Now, unsealed, it would have detrimental effects on everybody here.”
Spock raised an eyebrow. “So the Troglytes are being harmed by being confined to the mines and the surface of Ardana. Incredible. Zenite is shipped all over the galaxy wherever there is danger of plant bacteria. No side effects have ever been reported. And yet the doctor’s findings are likely true.”
“Likely?” muttered Bones. He huffed. “The side effects go away once the zenite is refined, anyway. That’s why all of my findings are completely correct. In its raw state, it emits an odorless, invisible gas that harms the intellectual functioning of the mind and heightens the emotion. Therefore, it releases a violent reaction.”
“And the mines are full of that gas,” said Kirk.
“That’s right, and the Troglytes are constantly exposed to it,” said Bones.
“The Disruptors, Vanna,” said Kirk. “It seems impossible. They’ve outwitted a highly organized, scientific culture for months.”
“Vanna was part of the staff on Stratos,” said (Y/N). “That means she was removed from exposure.” They cocked their head. “It seems that would solve any issues of the Troglytes—if they weren’t around the gases, they wouldn’t face any adverse effects.”
Bones nodded. “And the other Disruptors were probably removed from exposure, too.”
“Does the brain return to normal?” asked Kirk.
“According to findings, it should,” said Bones.
“Can you neutralize the gas?” questioned Kirk.
“No. But a filter mask should remove the exposure,” said Bones.
“Find one. Meet us in the Transporter Room,” said Kirk, standing.
l
Kirk held up the mask to the viewing screen of the Transporter Room. Plasus’s face stared out, stone-cold as he looked back at them.
“This mask automatically eliminates all substances injurious to humanoid life, chemical as well as bacterial,” explained Kirk. “We’ve used these filter masks frequently on—”
“And do you really expect me to believe that that mask can achieve intellectual equality for the Troglytes?” questioned Plasus.
“There’s every indication that the effect of the gas is temporary, so there is no real inequality even after repeated exposure,” reported Bones.
“How can a mere filter accomplish what centuries of evolution have failed to do?” scoffed Plasus.
“Dr. McCoy has analyzed the zenite thoroughly. We’ve checked his findings through the computer, and they’re absolutely valid,” said Kirk.
“And do your computers show how my ancestors, who also dwelled in caverns, evolved sufficiently to erect Stratos while the Troglytes did not?” said Plasus, the sarcasm clear.
“Unequal evolution did not begin until after your ancestors removed yourselves from constant exposure to the gas, Mr. Advisor,” said Spock.
“Ah, preposterous,” scoffed Plasus.
“The findings cannot be argued, Mr. Advisor,” said (Y/N). “We simply propose to tell Vanna and the Troglytes about them.”
“I doubt whether even Vanna will believe such nonsense,” said Plasus.
(Y/N) furrowed their brow. It felt like Plasus didn’t want the Troglytes to know there was a way for them to not be harmed and to have a different type of life—something they clearly wanted when removed from exposure and able to think clearly.
“This ‘nonsense’ might mean a lot to the Troglytes,” said (Y/N). “We would like to offer them a supply of these filter masks in exchange for the zenite consignment. Then, you and your Council can discuss with them the next steps for a better quality of life and protection from the gas.”
Plasus shook his head fiercely. “I’m sorry, Lieutenant. Such an offer can only cause more unrest among them. I cannot allow it until our scientists have checked the findings. But that could take days.”
Kirk took a deep breath, and (Y/N) felt his irritation. Uh oh, they thought.
Kirk spoke and said exactly what he thought, diplomacy be damned. “Are you afraid the filter masks will work? Is that why you don’t want the Troglytes to try them?”
Plasus’s gaze hardened, and (Y/N) didn’t need to be in his presence to know his emotions were full of anger. “You are here to complete an emergency mission, not conduct tests, Captain.”
“I’m here to get that zenite,” said Kirk. He held up the masks. “If these will help me get them, then I’ll use them.”
“And I forbid it,” said Plasus. “Your Federation does not entitle you to defy local governments. This communication has ended.” The screen switched off.
“My diplomacy is somewhat inadequate,” said Kirk, sighing. “I should leave it to (L/N).”
“Most likely,” said Spock, nodding.
“You said what I wanted to say,” said (Y/N) encouragingly.
“Well, it’s pretty hard to overcome prejudice,” said Bones.
“Doesn’t give us much choice, does it?” said Kirk.
“Nor much time,” remarked Spock. “We have ten hours and forty minutes to deliver that consignment to Merak II.”
“Beam me down to Vanna’s confinement quarters,” said Kirk decidedly.
“You mean you’re going back to Stratos against government orders?” Bones’s eyes widened.
“If Vanna doesn’t have something to gain for her people, she’ll die rather than turn over that zenite consignment,” said Kirk. “This is the only thing that might convince her.”
“Captain, if you are apprehended deliberately violating the High Advisor’s orders, he will be within his rights to have you executed if he chooses,” said Spock.
“Another piece of violence on the violence-less Stratos,” murmured (Y/N). “It is quite a risk, Captain.”
“Spock, (L/N), if you’re about to suggest that one of you contact Vanna, the answer is negative,” said Kirk. “That goes for you, too, Bones.” He spoke before Bones could say anything, and the doctor scowled.
“Allow me to point out that a first officer is more expendable than either a doctor or a captain,” said Spock.
“Yes, and a lieutenant is even more so, but you’re not suggesting this because of efficiency,” said Kirk wryly.
Spock looked away pointedly. He wasn’t going to admit that Kirk was right and he just didn’t want (Y/N) or anyone else he cared for to be harmed.
“And anyways, that would be official chain of command, and this mission is strictly unofficial,” said Kirk, stepping onto the transport pad. “Nobody’s to have any part of it or any responsibility for it but myself. That’s an order. Spock, you have the conn. Stand by until I contact you.”
The transporter whirred to life, and Kirk dematerialized.
(Y/N) sighed. “Let me know if Plasus calls us again. I’ll stall if there are issues.”
Spock and Bones nodded. They knew (Y/N) was the right person to deal with problems and angry people.

Failure for the not-so-nice ask game? Any OC(s) you’d like?
I've been using my MC, Narul to answer most of these questions, however for this question I think instead I will use one of the primary antagonists from Book 1, Akard. Akard is, in his own way, the child of failure. His father, Kurush, was once the King of the Great city of Labisa, before Kurush was outed by his own brother, Hutbari. Kurush fled to the Kingdom of Apuna, where he remained as a glorified house guest in the Palace of the Fapacha. While there he had an affair with an Apunian peasant girl, that affair resulted in Akard. Kurush's attempts to lead an expedition of his own were foiled by the progression of Asherdul's Bane, the degenerative and ultimately lethal disease which runs through that family's male line. And so, as his body rotted away, he filled Akard's head with dreams of their lost homeland.
Kurush's obsession became his son's. Akard made it his mission to return to Labisa and to reclaim the throne that Hutbari had stolen. However part of this dream had always been to take his father with him. But by the time Akard had grown to the age where he could lead this daring plan, Kurush was little more than a living skeleton, his mind shot, his body too weak to move, trapped in the agony of a body eating away at itself. A fate that Akard knew he would share one day. Fate had other plans, and when Akard stood above the corpse of his treacherous uncle, it was alone.
What Akard did to his father, was not good, nor noble, but it was perhaps, merciful. Akard has never told anyone, save for his partner, Zenit, what happened to Kurush.

Karinthy: Az olasz fagylaltos
I.
- Nahát - mondta ő fanyar mosollyal -, abban a pillanatban lett ilyen nehéz a szívem.
Megrázta magát, végigsimította a homlokát.
Ettől magam is kedvetlen lettem.
A zöld parolis vadászok rajtunk ütöttek. Szétszaladtunk. Hajnalban, egy szikla mögött kuksolva, a tetőn távcsöves magyar tisztet vettem észre. A káplárom intett mögöttem. Megtaláltuk a tiszt hulláját, leszedtük onnan.

01 junio
Llegar a conocer a Dios íntimamente.

Warrington town centre. Zenit E. Truprint 200.
Late last year I had occasion to visit Warrington to run a few errands. I was a student in the there in the mid to late 1990's and whilst the town centre still felt familiar there where some significant changes and most of the old shops I used to visit where gone.
It was the perfect opportunity to try some colour film in my recently refurbished Zenit E.
