what is a show you'll never watch no matter how many people recommend it to you and why?
Ill go first, Evangelion. I will never watch it ever. I don't care if it's this master class of psychology. To me it's just plain gross how pervy the show gets. Its telling that in like the first 5 Minutes of the movie, it has the main character jerking it to a girl in the hospital. I know he feels guilty after and I just don't care, it's gross and unnecessary. Also I don't like most anime because most of the ones I get recommended are, guess what, pervy.

Chelsea Van Der Zee - Villain Re-Write
Chelsea is probably the one thing that makes me feel conflicted the most about this movie:
I love her chemistry with Ruby and the scenes where is just them hanging out is by far the most entertaining parts of the movie
I hate her as a villain because she´s on the level of "I´m evil because the plot needs a villain" (and her twist being Nerissa downright sucked).
With that in mind, this is a bit of my "re-write" of her as a villain to give her a bit more depth:
*Most of the events of the movie remains the same, just modifying the bits with Chelsea
Make her Nerissa´s actual daughter (because that twist was dumb, came out of nowhere and I´m dying on that hill).
2. After her mother´s death on her battle against Agatha, she´s raised by the Mermaid kingdom´s courtiers basically her entire childhood.
3. She´s indoctrinated into believing Krakens aren´t these so called protectors of the sea, but rather they heavily police the rest of the kingdoms so they can´t expand their reach and keep that territory all for themselves (That way, just like Ruby, she´s being told the other side is in the wrong).
4. Through her life she develops a passion for all kinds sea creatures, and isn´t to fond of the idea she was taugth about Krakens controlling how much other sea kingdoms can expand.
5. The courtiers tell her there´s a way to bring her mother back AND to lower Kraken´s power so the sea territories can be balanced, and it´s by spell/ritual that involves the trident and Kraken´s blood.
6. She meets Ruby, and upon realising she´s a Kraken, at first sticks with her to manipulate her so she can retrieve the trident and take her blood to bring back her mother.
7. Over time, she actually starts bonding with Ruby over their shared interest over sea creatures and get to know each other backgrounds, so propose to her to get the trident as a peace sign between both kingdoms to reach balance (By this point, it plays a lot like in the actual movie, only that Chelsea still omitts the Kraken´s blood part because she believes Ruby would not accept if she knew that detail).
8. Ruby brings back the trident, and when Chelsea is preparing the spell, she stabs Ruby´s arm-tentacle, a weakened Ruby is baffled by this and Chelsea tells her it was necessary for the plan and she has to understand.
9. The trident reacts to Kraken´s blood and manifests Nerissa´s soul, to which Chelsea greets her mother as is the first time she sees her since she was a child.
10. Chelsea explains she learnt eveything about her and the courtier´s plan to balance the sea territories, and she even convinced Ruby, the heir of the Kraken´s throne to the plan.
11. When Chelsea asks how the trident could do all of that, Nerissa says that the trident never was intended as a peace sign, but rather a weapon with enough power to kill a Kraken, and when the Krakens are gone, all sea creatures would unite and obey the Mermaid kingdom as the supreme sea kingdom, and the ones to no comply would run into the same fate as Krakens.
12. By this point both Ruby and Chelsea see both of them got played, Ruby by accepting to the spell and Chelsea by trusting the courtier´s plan, now not only Ruby´s family is at risk, but pretty much every other creature on the sea.
13. Chelsea tells Nerissa that the plan is complete madness, and as heir of the throne of her kingdom, she wouldn´t let it happen, to which Nerissa says that she no longer has a voice on it since she was back as queen, and the role she plays on her plan is being her avatar to wield the trident, and that for starters, she was going to get rid of Ruby.
14. Chelsea refuses, Nerissa tells her how dissappointed she is that her daughter is so weak, but she got a contingency plan for that, if Chelsea doesn´t do it herself, then she would.
15. Nerissa´s souls enters Chelsea´s body to control her, but while Chelsea still has some control she struggles against the possesion, tells Ruby to escape and pushes her to give her a headstart, letting Ruby to get into a sea current, pushing her away while she sees Chelsea falling to her mother´s control and starting to grow.
16. Ruby gets to the Kraken´s palace and tells her mom and grandma everything that happened (the big kaiju fight takes place as normal).
17. Once the trident is shattered, Nerissa´s soul vanishes and Chelsea shrinks back to her normal size several meters mid air, to which Ruby rushes to catch her, saving her from the fall.
18. Upon waking up and staring at Ruby´s giant eyes, Chelsea breaks down after realising how she almost doomed the entire sea AND hurting Ruby (This way we can see Chelsea on a phase we never saw her before, instead of being bossy and self-confident, she´s now doubtful of herself and the things she did).
19. Ruby´s grandma tell Ruby to bring Chelsea to her so she can fry her, to which Ruby refuses (Just like in the actual movie, despite everything that went down, Ruby still advocates for Chelsea´s life).
20. There´s a talk between the 3 royal Krakens (Grandmamah, Agatha and Ruby) about what they should do with the trident´s shards, since it´s too dangerous if it´s assembled back.
21. Ruby has an idea and says they could scatter all parts across the sea, so there´s no way someone could find all of them, to which Grandmamah and Agatha recognise it might be a good idea, with the issue that they being as big as they are, that would draw to much attention and would risk to spot the shards.
22. Chelsea still shocked by everything that just went down, overhears their talk and says that she could scatter all the shard, since being smaller she would pass on as a regular fish.
23. Grandmamah and Agatha immediatly turns down her initiative after all that happened and how she backstabed Ruby, to which, Ruby stands up for Chelsea and tells her mom and grandma that she would be dead and couldn´t be able to alert them about Nerissa´s return not being that Chelsea fought back against her mother.
24. After some time pondering about it, they accept the initiative, under 2 conditions, those being that Chelsea must hide the shard where they tell her too being escorted by a guard, even if that includes land as well, AND, once she´s done with it, she must stay at the palace, since they don´t want to risk another betrayal (by doing this, Chelsea is given the chance to redeem herself, without immediatly being forgiven so she can work on her character for a possible sequel).
25. Chelsea accepts her new duty, and after they give her the map and her designated guard to start her journey, she goes to Ruby to say her farewells, hoping that Ruby will forgive her, to which Ruby says it may take some time, but she is grateful that she once gave her the determination to embrace her Kraken self and becoming better, so she will be waiting for her to comeback.
I know that this re-write may come as a long, dramatic and a bit corny (because it´s all of that, I recognize that), but that´s because I wanted to write both Ruby and Chelsea as 2 sides of the same coin:
Both of them were taught about the dangers of another sea creatures.
Both of them had good intentions at heart wanting to make the sea a better place.
Both of them got their trust played with and in consecuence got hurt by it.
I just really like Chelsea´s character and design that much that I don´t want her to go to waste to not be seen again.
___
But sadly, things are set in stone now, and unless they decide to do some crazy retconing for a sequel/series, we will be stuck with Nerissa "NO Chelsea" Van Der Zee.
But hey, not everything is doomed, in the words of Luz Noceda:
...
Hey, if you´re still reading this actual wall of text, you deserve a pat on the back, I knew this was LOOOOONG.

The DCAU (Timmverse): All of it

So, I have a confession.
For my own edification, I decided to re-watch the entirety of the DCAU, started by Bruce Timm and company with Batman: The Animated Series. But as I marched towards the end of it, I realized I had nowhere to share my results, nobody to talk about all this stuff with. That's when I decided to start my blog, for everything before and after. I had to know: is it as good as I remember? Am I touched by nostalgia? And are there any hidden gems in there to recommend?
I would very much like for this post to gain traction, but at the end of the day, I've done this on my own for my own sake. I looked up a list of the DCAU in internal chronological order (which I cannot find for the life of me, I wish I could because it was a big help!) and started with Batman: The Animated Series season 1, episode 1: "On Leather Wings". If needs be, I can go back and look up specific episodes, but for the most part I'll be talking about the overall experience, from my least favorite to most favorite show, and then some quick thoughts on the non-show materials, movies and shorts and the like. Not all of it is completely canon, but most of it is interesting.
I also would recommend watching the shows in chronological order, if only because starting with Batman's first case and ending with Batman's mantle fully-passed feels so full-circle and awesome. There's a particular shot that opens The Animated Series that closes Justice League: Unlimited and Batman Beyond in a way that's just awesome. And I think that speaks to this universe as a whole: it allowed itself to grow and change and turn into something new, never fully comfortable to stagnate and remain unchanged. But we'll get into that shortly: first, methodology.
I scored each thing I watched out of two scales from 1-5: enjoyment and quality. This allowed not just for masterpieces and absolute garbage, but also for personal disdain and guilty pleasures. The x-axis here represents enjoyment (hate, dislike, didn't care for, like and love) and quality. Both are ultimately subjective, but I felt it useful to keep track of both so I could rate whole shows and seasons as a whole. You'll note above that quality and enjoyment tend to follow one another, but there are a few exceptions here and there.
The whole experience averages out to 3.846/5 for enjoyment and 3.885/5 for quality: a pretty solid overall experience, but numbers don't tell the full story, and I want it to be known there will be some nuance to all of this. Just because something got a 1,1 score doesn't mean it's completely irredeemable trash, and just because something got a 5,5 score doesn't mean it's utterly perfect, and the overall scores will be rounded to three decimals anyway. The good is always mixed with the bad. And speaking of bad...

Least favorite: Lobo
This one had the handicap of being animated in Flash, which was a new technology at the time and little-understood. I won't give it too much guff for that flaw, but it also had tedious and often gross plots, and, worst of all, jokes that weren't funny, which made the struggle to use Flash worse. There's two episodes that I liked (those being episodes 3, "Pit Stop" and 13, "Eat this!") and the rest were either bland or painful. I'm sure there's an audience that likes this but I hated almost all of it. They should've picked funnier bounties for Lobo to pursue because the main plot was unworthy of the main man.
Enjoyment: 2.143
Quality: 1.571

The blandest: The Zeta Project
When I watched Batman Beyond back when I was a kid, imagine my surprise when I found out Zeta, of all characters, got a spinoff show. I didn't remember how bland it was when I restarted this project, and it was the biggest hurdle to overcome when it came to finishing this re-watch.
Zeta, or "Zee" as he'll be known by, teams up with street rat Ro to escape Agent Bennet and the NSA (honestly based of them) so he can prove he's not a soulless killing machine. Their dynamic is the strongest part of this show, in that they're both competent in different areas and they have that good autistic/neurotypical banter that I like. Don't get me wrong, there's some high points to this show that I can gush about (the second-to-last episode is bafflingly-fantastic, considering everything that came before) but it's definitely a kids' show, and it feels like it was pushed hard by the network to tone down the themes that were present in other shows; there's a lot of potential here that made me want to write my own version. Season 2 is slightly better than season 1, but not enough to change my gut feeling; this is the one I think I'll forget the easiest.
Enjoyment: 3
Quality: 3.115

The progenitor: Batman: The Animated Series
Now hold on: before you come at me with your torches and pitchforks for placing this so low, let me explain:
Yes, it's good. Yes, it pushed the boundaries for Batman media as a whole, and we owe it a lot when it comes to paving the way for what we have now. Hell, my own beloved The Batman (2004) practically walked the same path as The Animated Series before it charted its own. And the voices are the most quintessential versions of these characters, the ones we hear when we read comic panels.
But! There's a lot of fat, a lot of chaff. This was an era when TV shows had a lot of episodes per season, almost fit to bursting. I don't think our modern 8-episode seasons are good for the medium, but when you have a show that airs 65 episodes in 1 season over 2 years you're bound to get a range in quality.
Second: a lot of the really good stories come from this show's continuation, The New Batman Adventures. Technically Adventures is just another season of The Animated Series, but they were separated into different categories so I had to rate them as separate shows. This does drag down the overall rating of Animated but not so much as you'd think: there's a couple episodes in this series that are god-awful ("I've Got Bats in my Belfry" being a memorably-terrible episode that I could find little redeeming quality in).
I also have a hot take that "Heart of Ice" doesn't hit quite so hard as people remember, with the episode "Deep Freeze" and the movie SubZero being the better versions of that episode. I think the show also has one of the worse pilots of any show, that being "On Leather Wings" which is a mediocre Man-Bat episode. We forget the bad with the overwhelming good, like "Two-Face", "Feet of Clay", "Perchance to Dream" or the queer classic "Harley and Ivy" (how the hell did the writers not know how gay (affectionate) the episode was???), or my personal favorite hidden gem, "Baby-Doll". But I also didn't like this version of Catwoman, and sometimes personal dislike can affect you.
I enjoyed the experimenting the show went through, even if it didn't always succeed. I found season 1 more enjoyable and season 2 of higher quality. I definitely saw it as a sign that the writers, animators and voice actors had come into the swing of things.
Enjoyment: 3.588
Quality: 3.776

The platonic version: Static Shock
This is one I missed when I was a kid, so I had no nostalgic attachment to it. But I had read the comic reboot in 2021 and I liked the character, so I wanted to see his origins.
The show doesn't touch on quite so many social themes as that comic, but it's a black-led superhero outing, so it wouldn't exactly be without, especially with Dwayne McDuffie writing a good chunk of them. I think this show's strength is that even the worst isn't entirely unwatchable (and it's not "Hoop Squad" despite what you may have heard) and you almost always know what you're getting into when you watch this show.
There's a lot of lovable characters, devious villains and slice-of-life antics that I mostly enjoyed. I wouldn't say the show is hugely revolutionary but it got a few good swings in there (my personal favorite is "She-Back" for bringing back She-Bang and that scoundrel Madelyn Spaulding). So if this is a favorite from when you were a kid, I understand now.
Enjoyment: 3.635
Quality: 3.673

The new kid on the block: Batman Beyond
Like Static Shock above, Batman Beyond has a repertoire of mostly-decent episodes to raise its score, but also raising it in my estimation is the sheer vibes. The music in this show is pure metal/rock in a way that gets my brain juices flowing (I don't know how to talk about music) and the setting update to a cyberpunk future justifies the changes to the Batman status quo. After the pilot I never found that sweet spot where my enjoyment and the quality matched (I think season 2 is a dip in quality compared to seasons 1 and 3, and my enjoyment never quite recovered), but with a memorable rogues' gallery (that they keep killing off) and a punk attitude, it is so much more than just "what if Batman was in high school"?
Enjoyment: 3.808
Quality: 3.981

The superhero: Superman: The Animated Series
I don't know why this one isn't talked about as much as Batman: The Animated Series. In a lot of ways I think it's almost better than that show, although the comparison hardly does it justice.
It's just a damned good Superman story. The story of Krypton's destruction takes up a whole 3 episodes at the beginning, and it's fully deserved. One thing I consistently liked about this show was that it showed Superman was smart: his fight against Mr. Mxyztplk (voiced by the iconic Gilbert Gottfried) is just the imp taken L after L in a way that made me laugh.
Season 2 here is the best, as that's where they really found their footing, but the quality after, though it trends downward, never reaches a point of anything bad. I just think they were running out of ideas, so the finale being as bombastic and ballsy as it is speaks as much to them being done as it does to them wanting to send the show off with a bang.
Enjoyment: 3.907
Quality: 3.833

The one that grew the beard: Gotham Girls
This was a weird one to track down. The episodes were animated to be part of a series of flash games on some Warner Brothers' website, and were rewards for playing well. It starts as a mediocre comedy series and then in season 3 with "Ms.-ing in Action" turns into a mystery that builds into a climax that almost feels like a real regular Batman episode. Part of the reason it ranks so highly is because season 3 takes a wild swing that works most of the time (and also introduces a trans character, who is a slight spoiler) and builds to a finale that's proper dark and cold. You could probably skip the rest and just watch season 3 if you wanted a hidden gem.
Enjoyment: 3.993
Quality: 3.333

The team: Justice League
Another I skipped over as a kid, mostly by accident. I watched the first episodes/pilot movie "Origins" and then just missed the rest somehow.
There's a number of episodes that are more mediocre than I would've liked. The greatest disappointment was "In Blackest Night" since Green Lantern is my favorite superhero. But for the most part it's banger after banger of excellent superhero drama and storytelling, and the last six episodes are just perfection. The writers here were firing on all cylinders, and added some cylinders so they could fire more. And they decided to improve between seasons, which is always a joy.
Enjoyment: 4.308
Quality: 4.423

The re-engergizing revamp: The New Batman Adventures
This show has the dubious honor of bearing the Revamp, or the "New Look" when it comes to its characters, redesigning almost all of them even if it was unnecessary. I think most of those were weird or small enough to not worry about, but there's some like the Joker - who has a serious downgrade - and others like Scarecrow, who changes actors and becomes a god damned menace.
Almost all the episodes had a strong central theme the writers were going for, and the only episode I rated in either category less than 4 was "Chemistry", and even if I was personally annoyed with it I could understand what they were going for. But come on! This show had "Cold Comfort", "Joker's Millions", "Over the Edge", fucking "Mad Love" and "Growing Pains" are all in this show! It's the cream of the crop from a show that was already mostly cream, and if you watch this show you will have a solid idea of who Batman and his extended cast are.
Enjoyment: 4.452
Quality: 4.583
But as for the top, there could be little doubt...

The best of the best: Justice League Unlimited
I worried I would be blinded by nostalgia on re-watch. I remember loving this show as a kid, and I feared that it would not stand up to scrutiny. The beautiful thing about it is, not only did it stand up to scrutiny, in some ways it exceeded my greatest expectations.
There's a good fucking reason people talk about this show even today. Somehow it managed to grow with its audience and start asking questions about power and authority, and the conflict with Cadmus and Amanda Waller builds to a beautiful finale... in season 2. Season 3 carried a lot of stuff forward but it can't quite match the PEAK that is season 2.
For my money: if you're going to watch these shows, save "Epilogue" until the end. It's a very cathartic experience.
Enjoyment: 4.615
Quality: 4.538
But there were more than just shows. The movies can get lost because the extensive episode-to-episode plots that happen in either Justice League show may overshadow them, but they have some qualities worth discussing, even in brief. As before, I'll organize by least to most favorite.

Batman and Harley Quinn
I hated this movie. While it does expand on Harley Quinn's relationship with Poison Ivy and there are some funny jokes, most of it was undercut by bad jokes and the weird sex stuff. It's dubiously-canon anyway, so feel free to skip it.
youtube
Batman Black & White: Two of a Kind
The yank and jerk of the status quo forces Harvey Dent to remain Two-Face. It's not interesting in any respect and it introduces a female character just to fridge her.

Justice League: Gods and Monsters
I appreciate the opportunity to make new versions of old characters, and this one was on my radar years ago from the shorts (we'll list those below, I couldn't find the original links so I'm linking to a fan channel). The movie didn't live up to that hype, and while I liked it, I could see it was just kinda okay.
youtube
Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles: "Big"
This is fine, even good. It shows how this Bekka is different from Diana as Wonder Woman, but it lacks the one-two punch the other shorts had that would put it a step above.
youtube
Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles: "Twisted"
Now this is some good dark shit! The last line especially haunts me every time I think about it. It's also demonstrates this world's ability to make darker, altered versions of characters we know, which leads me to...
youtube
Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles: "Bomb"
I first saw this one at 3:00 am on my phone in bed, and it's haunting. It's stuck with me for years for showing a Superman who is empathetic and human, but after having lived a hard life has become hard himself, and is willing to compromise. This, perhaps, set my expectations too high for the movie, but on its own it's a fantastic addition to the catalogue of the Man of Steel.
Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman
It's Bruce's lesbian cousin! Wait, no, wrong canon.
The ideas raised here are interesting, but better-discussed in other episodes. The three Batwoman suspects are all interesting and dynamic, even if Batgirl isn't given as much of a chance to shine and that feels weird. It's a solid-enough viewing episode, but I don't know if I'd ever seek it out again.
youtube
Batman 75th Anniversary short
It's just fun, you know? Just 78 seconds of bliss.
youtube
Catwoman: Chase Me
Having gone on-record as Not a Fan of this version of Catwoman, I still appreciated the instrumental and artistic nature of this short that perfectly encapsulates the relationship Batman and Catwoman have. I also dearly love that it's done without words, and a lot of emotion is put into the expressions.

Justice League vs the Fatal Five
I was aware Jessica Cruz was in this because am attuned to news about Green Lantern, but beyond that I had little knowledge of this movie. Watching it for the first time, it hearkened back to episodes of Unlimited that would focus on a single character and their arc and then be done. Jessica Cruz/Green Lantern and Thomas Kallor/Starboy were this movie's focus, and they handily demonstrated why they're good characters in their own right. The movie itself is fast, deadly and brutal, and not afraid to show violence or make a sacrifice, and I had a great time watching it. Even if Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner now exist, somehow, in the canon.

Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero
You remember when I talked about Mr. Freeze and that Good Shit™? This is it. Barbara Gordon is the MacGuffin for the plot but doesn't lose out on any agency, which is a neat trick to pull, and when the plot starts going it's non-stop action until the end. This could easily have been the end of Mr. Freeze for the DCAU, but I'm glad even if it wasn't.

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
I almost put this at the top. It's just phenomenal: from the animation and action to the acting and writing, everyone is bringing their A-game to the rolling tragedy of the Joker's last night on Earth, and the ongoing horrible mystery of how he's returned. I liked it quite a lot, and the warm glow of good feelings it gave me still resonates with me, but there can only be the singular number one...

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm
Yeah it's fucking great, what the fuck do you want from me? It's one of the best Batman movies ever, and it broadened the scope of what a Batman movie could be. And that final confrontation with the Joker and the Phantasm is equal parts awesome, cathartic and tragic. It's as Batman as Batman gets.
And that's the DCAU! A media project that spanned a decade and a half, and a legacy that permeates into comics, TV shows and movies; the idea of a Batman who comforts children comes from this show, and damned if it isn't fucking fantastic. From humble beginnings in the shadow of Batman (1989) it grew into a defining show for almost all our childhoods. On the one hand, I'm surprised it lasted so long and left such a legacy, but on the other hand, when talented, passionate and hardworking creators are given the support to make something they can be proud of, it's no surprise it resonates with people.
I am certainly not the first to write about this franchise, and so help me I won't be the last. If you get the chance, show this to your kids, and tell them what it meant to you. If there's one thing "Epilogue" taught us, none of us will be around forever, and we should share our legacy with those who come after us. Or just ask me my thoughts on any given episode, and I'll let you know; I think "Critters" is a hidden gem and everyone should watch it.
God that's a lot of tags.

The Wishing Kingdom: Chapter 4: A Celestial Call Part 2
Here’s the link to the part 1: A Celestial Call
_______________________
Next up is a scene where Asha and Antares start meeting up, and this is where we get Antares’s I Want song so pay close attention to the animatic cuz this is a real treat!
—————
Final Thoughts
The long awaited animatic is finally here!!!!!!!
You know, during the weeks that I was off college, I decided to rewatch the classic Disney movies such as Snow White, Bambi, Fantasia and Sleeping Beauty, and what amused me about these films the most was the amount of charm and magic that each film possessed that made me and all of you fall in love with Disney in the first place…
And I was able to translate this type of magic with the meeting which I had a lot of fun storyboarding because Antares’ character is so bubbly, awkward and fun yet has this liability that throws Asha the wrong way, and about his I Want song, this is a reference to songs like When Will My Life Begin (the reprise), Out There and Part Of That World as they are all songs about longing and Antares’s song fits in that category because he is a star that wants to explore the human world, he can’t have a wish because it’s his responsibility as a star to grant other people’s desires but what if stars had their own desires like Antares? I feel like that will be a concept to explore on the coming chapters…
And Asha’s I want song, you can tell that I’ve rewritten and reanimated most of the sequence, the lyrics about her being trapped inside a cage is a metaphor of her failing to accept her mistakes and do better at them, instead she just gives up and feels like she should pass the crown to someone else just because magic isn’t her biggest strength, and the “I want something magical than this” line has a purpose, the line is a plea to the stars to help Asha do better for herself in favour to please Magnifico and Amaya, yeah, I know, a pretty selfish wish if I’m honest, but that wish will change as the story progresses…
Chapter 5 is going to be in the works and boy, will this be wild… so stay tuned for more…

Hey! Finally decided to write out a few questions I had about Wish Granted, so here they are.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Who’s your head canon voice for WG!Flazino? You may have already said in another post but I couldn’t remember. (UaS!Flazino’s is Milo Manheim, if you’re curious.)
On that note, how do you think WG!Magnifico and Amat would react to Flazino being prince and the biological son of UaS!Manuel and Amaya?
What other Disney movie do you think you drew the most inspiration from, if any?
Do we get to see an actual wish ceremony in the story? If so, when?
Lastly, any hints towards the ending?
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s not a lot, but I’m kinda late to the party so most of the good ones have already been asked. Hope you’re doing well <3
HIIIII! I'm so sorry I'm late to this! Been finally designing the villains, and working, so I had to try and make time for this!
I briefly mentioned it in Chapter 1, but that was so long ago, lol. 😆 WG!Flazino is voiced by Josh Keaton! He's actually been in a few Disney projects, including the voice of Young Hercules! Chose him because he has a voice that fits his range of emotion from stressed out, to snarky, to genuinely trying his best. Plus he has a great singing voice. (Also, LOVE your voice for UaS!Flazino!)
2. On one hand, they'd applaud them for getting their Flazino under control with little to no hesitation or resistance. On the other, they're appalled that UaS!Royals even HAD a kid! WG!Magnifico and Amaya don't plan on having heirs, they want to stay in power longer than humanily possible, so they need all the magic they can get.
WG!Amaya would share a few spells that can UaS!Amaya to spy on UaS!Flazino when he's out of sight, or even spy on any possible traitor in the kingdom. (And they'd exchange tea recipes) Their respective pets would get along as well.
UaS!Magnifico would get along GREAT with WG!Mags. They both want the power of a star, and WG!Mags actually succeeded in getting a taste of that power. I can definitely see them going on and on about how hard it is to keep their Flazino's in line. Only, WG!Magnifico would slightly respect UaS!Flazino more for being a royal and not a peasant like WG!Flazino.
3. Hercules, big time! In fact, Wish Granted is part of an homage to the Disney Renaissance movies, where they just had super creative films one after the other! Hercules is actually one of my all time favorite Disney films, and Star's personality and strength is heavily inspired from it! Hell, a LOT of the humor is similar to Hercules, especially in Magnifico! (Plus I have a superhero story in development where is a combination of Wish, Hercules and Superman.)
4. Yes, actually! 😂 I didn't realize I NEVER showed one in the beginning. Oh my gosh, I'm embarrassed….
So it'll be shown during the set up for the finale! Once the royals gather up the people to make 100 wishes, they take in another newcomer to demonstrate their power. (So 101 actually!), it'll basically show what will become of the Hamlet when their wishes are taken. Magnifico plans to just eat them all and kill them on the spot if Asha doesn't give up Star.
5. I'll give you HINTS!!
Thanks so much, @snackara! I'd love to get more questions from you when you have them! They're so fun! 😁
I'll tag you guys in case you want some more lore here! 😉

some random reboot headcanons because I just finished season 1 but you can clearly tell who my favorites are
Lauren/Scary Girl is so transfem demigirl to me and I can't explain why
Lauren showed Damien smile HD and/or cupcakes and now he's traumatized
Damien got into science from those grow your own crystal kits
I feel like he has a favorite word
Lauren got Damien a cactus and he named it after the shade of green it was
Raj taught Bowie how to ice skate
Raj has absolutely no storage space on his phone so Bowie's always the one taking photos
Wayne will tease Raj about literally anything but if he notices Raj getting upset he immediately stops
They play wrestle CONSTANTLY (and Bowie has to watch and make sure nobody breaks anything)
Wayne LOVES pies
He actually gets pie for his birthday more then he does cake
Bowie wears perfume (sometimes)
He eventually starts understanding Wayne and Raj's hockey lingo after hanging around them so much
He most definitely took Raj clothes shopping atleast once
Bowie got Raj a fidget slug and he fucking loves it and takes it everywhere
Wayne and Raj started collecting fidget toys after that
Axel keeps having this recurring dream where she cooks and eats her neighbor's cat (this started as an inside joke but I kinda see it)
She cuts her bangs herself
Chase livestreamed himself reading fanfictions about himself with Ripper and Zee (it ended with Chase curled up on the floor crying, Zee trying to comfort him, and Ripper going on a rant about why Andrew Tate isn't an alfalfa male)
Chase has been banned from multiple public places including but not limited to: Disneyland, Disneyworld, every Walmart in Canada, most Targets, about 5 McDonald's, and two malls
Chase has low empathy, while Emma has high empathy, which leads to a lot of disagreements
This mf is like the JayStation of Total Drama of course he makes 3am challenges and dark web videos (and of course has gotten canceled)
His parents most definitely said that "boys will be boys" bullshit
Zee most definitely likes the emperors new groove
Actually, he likes a lot of movies, but he sometimes forgets that he's watching them halfway through
Zee's a skater, and really well liked at the skate park he goes to
Everyone assumes he hates water because of how much he drinks soda, but he doesn't and says that soda is just "more his vibe"
Zee's absosexual and agender with all pronouns
When I tell you Emma has Chase blocked on EVERYTHING I mean EVERYTHING
She has slight anger issues (and trust issues)
Emma really likes sunsets
Ripper has dandruff and I can't explain what makes me think that I just do
He's also dyslexic because I said so
Priya's parents were friends with Sierra and were super jealous when she got on the show, which led to them falling out
Sierra actually recognized Priya for this reason, and got into contact with her after s1 ended
Sierra is basically Priya' crazy aunt
Priya ran away after s2 because she didn't want to face her parents after losing, and she moves in with either Millie or Sierra
Millie makes video essays where she just infodumps
Nichelle is so cupiromantic idk why
MK has been wearing that same beanie since they were 9
They had an emo phase in middle school
Also non-binary they/she/he MK is so real
Julia and MK have so much Twitter beef
Julia sold her crystals after s1 (Damien bought all of them)
If you recognize her in public she will RUN
Blaineley is her wine aunt and you can't tell me otherwise
and some random charts
#total drama reboot#td reboot#td 2023#total drama 2023#total drama#anyway my favorites are bowie wayne raj zee scary girl and for some reason chase#i mean the multiple things he did to emma are wrong but he's just silly#anyway#gotta love me some headcanons#<- for blog organization#idk what else to tag

Comics this week ?
Superman #19 - Speaking as someone who has huge gaps in their Legion knowledge, I loved Time Trapper's boast to Superman that the two of them are eternal and will wage war until the end of existence. And when he lowered his hood at the end and revealed himself as Doomsday I actually cackled. Of course, who else could endure until the end of time? And Doomsday's evolution ability actually works with how the Time Trapper (as I understand) has very vague powers and actually shifts (you might even say evolves) with how time changes. Alright Williamson, for the first time since I read DoS you've got me interested and excited for a Doomsday story. Doomsday talking about Superman's immortality harkens back to the Knight Terrors tie-in, if this is something Williamson has had on his mind for a while, optimistically he has something to say about it. Atomic Skull is confirmed to have reverted to being a bad guy, signaling what I expect to be an editorial push to undo the majority of the "redemptions" we've seen villains undergo recently. I bet Livewire reverts when "Superwoman" starts getting more attention and press than she does. Lex will presumably revert after getting his memories back to synergize with the movie. Mora on art is a beauty, this is probably the most enjoyable the book has been since Campbell stopped being the regular artist.
Absolute Wonder Woman #1 - Great first issue. Thompson proved she knows what the core of Wonder Woman is via that scene with baby Diana first scolding, then kissing, the baby dragon/demon after it tried to cook her. Sherman's art evokes this gothic atmosphere that suits a Wondy raised in hell perfectly. My favorite portion was the flashback to Circe raising Diana as her daughter. Seeing that spread of how their home evolved as Diana grew up hit hard for some reason, and I'm eager to uncover the mystery of what happened with the Amazons, why were they exiled, why was Diana spared, etc. However the modern day portion was weak. The Harbingers seem like generic evil monsters, at first I wondered if that was the Absolute Center given it was a floating island that spewed out dinos. We'll see what Thompson has planned for them, but they didn't immediately grab my interest the way the Party Animals over in Batman did. Credit to Thompson however, unlike Snyder she actually showed Diana struggle and did a better job of portraying this Wondy as a hero who is on the backfoot while Snyder had Batman blow through thugs as easily as his mainline counterpart.
Zatanna: BDTH #5 - I enjoyed it as an Elseworld take and thus wasn't too bothered by her dad being evil here. Tamaki's writing was solid albeit nothing exceptional, the real star was Javier Rodriguez. His art is what made this book fantastic! Would love to read a sequel that explored Zatanna with her daddy issues resolved up against a new threat. Glad to see Diana show up at the end to recruit Zee alongside the expected Batman cameo, anything that shows Zee and Di having a long history of friendship makes me happy.
Nightwing #119 - Was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly Watters shifted everything from the lighter tone of Taylor to his own darker style. Dick flooded Bludhaven with money in Taylor's run, which made it more attractive to criminals, which of course also brought in supercriminals. Watters has a good handle on Nightwing's voice, "anyhow time for jail" made me laugh. Jokes are there but he also writes Dick as serious and, when he needs to be, downright scary. Soy's art is great, he's long been a favorite of mine and I both his portrayal of Bludhaven as well as his designs for the villains.
Incredible Hulk #18 - My token Marvel book of the week! Earls' art is improving imo, and the section where Hulk tries to rip Banner out of himself was grotesque, man I love Klein's art. Hmmm, is the One Below All still protecting Hulk somehow? Or is this something else keeping Eldest from taking control of Hulk?

as promised i've prepared a little follower event which will be open for one — two weeks, depending on the quantity of asks i'll be getting! it's nothing big but i hope you'll enjoy nontheless <33

— ⁺ 𓂋 𓈒 ✦ :: how does it work?
i have collected a list of 15 lyrics and 15 songs that i love and listen to a lot, which work like a prompt list: you chose a lyric or a song out of the list, pair it up with a member and send me an ask — and will receive your fic! lyrics/ songs not on this list are also allowed!!

every prompt will be written only once as well, kind of like a first picks first receives system — i will update the chosen prompts accordingly!
you can add a wanted genre THOUGH i have most of the plots figured out already — explicitly state if you do not want smut in your fic!! since most of these are planned to be nsfw!!
that being said, you can request if you're not 18+, but you have to state that clearly in the ask you're sending!!
i will post the fics with about 2 days in between to not overflow the dash and to give me creative time, meaning it might take a while to finish requests that flow in later — pls be patient and understanding!

Thoughts on the TDI Reboot Season Two, Episodes 5 and 6
Okay the next two episodes of the reboot have premiered, and here are my collective thoughts on the characters and what's been happening. Spoilers below the cut, obviously.
Nichelle is out 5th and quit on top of that thanks to a fake movie contract planted by Julia. Honestly that kind of surprised me; my prediction was that Nichelle would make it to the merge where she'd get voted off because her improved athleticism made her a threat. I thought it would be ironic: in season one she was eliminated for being weak, and in season two she'd be eliminated for being too strong. Well at least Julia got some villain cred, even if it was a bit contrived and felt like Nichelle needed to lose some IQ points to make it possible. I'm not too broken up, but I can see why others might take issue with it.
(You know what would be hilarious though? If when the eliminated campers return for the finale, Nichelle reveals that people in Hollywood saw her improved performance in season two and actually did give her a movie deal.)
Instead, it was Bowie eliminated first after the merge. Now this makes much more sense: after MK's cheating was exposed, Julia convinced team Rat Face that it was Bowie's idea. Priya and Caleb were both victims of Bowie's schemes at some point, Zee is easy to fool, and Axel and Damien wouldn't know Bowie and MK well enough to know for sure but they do know Bowie placed second last season so they know he's a threat. In any case I really enjoyed Bowie this season: I loved the drama of him being torn between wanting to play dirty while not wanting to upset Raj. And he and Raj are adorable together, so I'm glad the cheating didn't lead to any major problems in their relationship.
Speaking of which, I loved Wayne and Raj standing up for their principles in episode five and refusing to go along with MK and Julia's schemes. And they continue to be hilarious on top of that. If I'm being honest though I kind of hope one of them goes soon, so we can finally see how the other gets along without his bro.
Then there's Zee, who continues to be absolutely hilarious. "I killed Priya's pillow boyfriend!" had me rolling. And he's actually involved with a plotline now! He knows about Priya's crush on Caleb and that Caleb is only looking for an alliance. Or at least, he was...
Caleb appears to be actually falling for Priya. Very interesting development. And Priya continues to be head over heels for Caleb, but at least she recognizes that she can't let it affect her game. Very interested to see where things go with them as a potential ship.
As for our other ship, Ripper and Axel seem to be getting along very well. I've seen some people comparing them to how Geoff and Bridgette were in TDA, but I think that's unfair. Sure they're into each other but not to the point where they can't focus on the game. (Axel getting distracted by Bowie's claim that Ripper was making out with a raccoon not withstanding.) Now that the teams have merged I hope we can see them spending time together and bonding in a way that involves more than making out. I'm surprisingly invested in this ship.
Well look at that, Damien actually won a challenge! I was hoping he'd start being more proactive in season two, and now we might finally be getting that. Especially since he's said he wants to find the immunity idol that's now in play, which Priya and Caleb are also hunting for...
Last but certainly not least, Julia and MK. Julia got some major villain cred these episodes, getting Nichelle and her arch enemy Bowie eliminated. Meanwhile MK's intern scheme was exposed, so that plotline's over. (I love how Chris had no problem with her cheating, but her stealing his hairdryer crossed the line.) They continue to be great together as a bad guy duo, and I can't wait to see more of it. (Especially if it evolves into romance, as I and many others are hoping for.)
Also, here's a bit of irony I noticed: in season one, Julia got eliminated in episode 6, and in season two Julia saved MK from elimination in episode 6.
And that's everyone. Aside from a few minor complaints, I'm still loving this season! The characters are all great, the plotlines are engaging, and the jokes are absolutely hilarious. And best of all I have no idea who could be going home next, so I'm very excited for the next episodes.

After Sundown (2023)
Synopsis:
Saengrawee has spent his life in the temple with Luang Lung Chanthakorn. When he turns 21, Parit – an old friend of the monk – comes to take him away, to live in Phra Nahkon with Parit’s family. As he settles in the mansion, Rawee starts getting plagued with nightmares, and visions of a ghost. Parit’s grandson, Praphloeng, comes back to Thailand at his parents’ demand. They worry about a prophecy who warns that if Phloeng does not bind his life to a soulmate by the time he turns 25, his life will be in grave danger. Said soulmate can’t be from Phra Nahkon, nor be a woman (according to mdl). Luckily, Rawee fits the bill, and despite their mutual dislike, the two men accept the ceremony. But while they learn to live with each other, and Phloeng’s presence is able to soothe Rawee’s nightmares, the ghost’s apparent grudge against Rawee only seems to deepen …
this shot is just too pretty
Non-spoilery review:
It was not a very good movie, all in all. I think it worked with a lot of ideas that, while not necessarily groundbreaking, were good enough to make a nice romance and an interesting horror story. The reluctant soulmates/fake marriage tropes are beloved for a reason, and can make for a compelling journey. The newcomer in the house mysteriously targeted by a ghost that seems to know him is also pretty classic, and when used well can be ground for a good, creepy mystery. The problem here is that imo, the execution was sub-par.
To begin with, the horror is not well integrated to the story. While I liked all the ghost scenes – tense and efficient, and in 720p at night the ghost freaked me the fuck out let me tell you – they were not well integrated into the story. Outside of those specific scenes, there is no sense of something terrifying happening to the main protagonist of the story, he doesn’t seem worried not curious about any of it, focused as he is on his romance.
And that’s where for me, it went from ‘not great’ to ‘not good’. Because with how much time is spent on the romantic parts of the story, I still can’t believe how little development happens. They are reluctant to even be in the same room a moment, and straight up acting like a married couple the next with absolutely nothing to justify this. Zee and NuNew share a lot of soft, romantic scenes, but they felt disconnected from each other, and because there is no showing of their feelings gradually changing those scenes, for me, lacked any emotional impact. That said, the two of them work well together, and the chemistry was chemistring alright when they were on screen. Still, with characters that don’t have a big personality and a scenario that has trouble holding itself together, there is only so much chemistry can do.
So yeah, for me After Sundown failed both as a horror and as a romance movie. I had no emotional investment in anything happening (which also made the reveal/conclusion at the end fall flat), the pacing was not good and actor performances alone (which were mostly good across the board) could not save this one.
Tl;dr: I gave this one 5/10. I would only recommend it if you really really really miss Zee and NuNew and just want to see them act cute with each other while not being bothered by the absence of actual story and the presence of a few good jump scares. Also if you just want to see Nammon wet and shirtless, just skip to 1:12:00 =3
Below the read more, I will go a little more into the reveal at the end, as well as a few pet peeves I got through the movie. It will be full of spoilers.
The reveal about the ghost:
I hated how we got nothing about the ghost during the whole movie except that she thought Rawee was someone else (the monk/his uncle) and wanted to kill him for it, and then 20 minutes before the end you get that huge, 10-minutes long info dumping flashback explaining who she is, what her relation to both the family and Rawee’s uncle is, how she died and why she is so vengeful. My first thought was ‘that’s a movie I would have liked to see’, followed by tons of ideas on how it could have been, you know, actually made part of the movie and not just stacked at the end like an after thought. 1 hour 20 minutes in, and you have no notion that there was a tragedy in that house, that Parit has A Mysterious Past regarding his sppuse, or that the ghost is actually linked to the family in any kind of way. It’s fine if you don’t want the protagonist to find out until the very end, but there should be stuffs to clue us, the audience, in, otherwise the reveal comes and you’re like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ okay I guess. Show us a picture of her in the house, maybe hidden away so we know Something Is Afoot, have some of those final flashbacks interwoven into Rawee’s nightmares (maybe make it so they’re misleading, showing her under a different light). Make the scene where Parit comes to the temple and meet the monk, after all those years, far, far more charged so I can feel that they’re not just old acquaintances but share something so much deeper. That they share both love and guilt. Just mention the fact that Phloeng's father never really knew his mother, that she died when he was small and I don't know, maybe they Don't Talk About Her Anymore. Give me something basically.
Also, at least Parit and Luang Lung Chanthakorn were aware of what was happening/who she was, and no one ever thought of, oh, I don’t know, do something about it? Warn the guys?? Why on earth did the monk say yes to sending Rawee back there knowing what the fuck happened in there and the responsibility he had in it? Come on.
Smaller things and Pet Peeves:
Ok this one is just for, like, random grievances I had with the movie.
First of all, Rawee’s lack of curiosity. You don’t have to make him an amateur detective, but that guy who grew up in a temple (so I assume at least a little spiritual) starts having nightmares and visions and doesn’t question it for a second? Doesn’t think oh, maybe there is something going on, maybe if I find out what the spirit wants and why, I could get rid of it? Nothing? I know my own curiosity is probably skewing my opinion but I wanted to shake him and beg him to ask even one goddamn question! Please!!
The “secondary couple”. Okay, so, this one ties up more to the romance aspect of things. We set up Pudson to be a sort of rival to Rawee, the spurned, jealous boy who hates the one who took Phloeng away, but there is never… I mean I’m pretty sure we never see him and Phloeng in a scene together, even, and all of this amount to nothing. Never actually hurts Rawee, never confronts him or tries to actually get Phloeng, this never leads to any tensions between Rawee and Phloeng… Then Kraiphop, the chauffeur, who is being so nice to Rawee and who makes Phloeng jealous once. Less of an actual rival to Phloeng, he’s presented more like a kind man who might help Phloeng realizes that he actually like Rawee. But the jealousy scene happens after we have seen them basically act chummy and nice to each other so it doesn’t work either. And then!! 35 minutes before the end, we get thrown a bone that oh maybe Kraiphop actually kinda likes Pudson, who may fall too, but that’s so brief, and then completely left hanging, I don’t see the point of having those characters. And I say that when it gives us Nammon shirtless and wet, so you can imagine…
Finally, and those are both the smallest and the most annoying of all (alright I might push it a little). That single voiceover we have maybe a third in?? There is that breakfast moment where Rawee’s voice says something along the line of ‘uh, since I sleep by Phloeng’s side the nightmares are gone and then there is never EVER another voiceover during the whole movie? Could you not have found another way to show not tell this? This irked me so bad lol
And then, MDL tells me it’s supposed to happen in 1961, and while the (very cool) car Phloeng rides seems to agree, the rest of the aesthetic screams Khun Chai to me (not just because it’s the same house I swear) which is 1942-something so like … two decades earlier. It’s not a lot but it added some confusion post viewing I guess.
#After Sundown#After Sundown (2023)#I don't know I don't think it's worth it basically#the trailer was far more exciting all things considered#it's frustrating because I want to enjoy something with Zee and NuNew but so far nothing has really worked for me#and I don't think it's them so much as the scripts they keep getting#anyway#mine

Zoya for the ask game <3 (I'd love to hear your opinions on my favorite character)
omg tysm for the ask! (and to anon who also suggested zoya, sorry it took me so long to get round to it 😭)
why I like them: honestly she's just so fucking iconic, but I love how she's amazing and badass while not being one-dimensional! like she has flaws and she has trauma and insecurities and none of that takes away from her positive traits!!
why I don't: idk I feel like she has some ideas that I would disagree with - I haven't re-read the books in a while but I always got the vibe that she's pretty pro-military and particularly in favour of the second army. and like I get it! fun light-hearted fantasy books are not obligated to deconstruct entire social systems! but if I met her irl I think we'd argue about it lmao
favourite episode/scene: I love the scene in s2 where she agrees to ally with alina! I think it's really sweet and shows her character development
favourite season/movie: in terms of the books, I think she's best in the kos duology - as fun and iconic as she is in the s&b trilogy I think the backstory and development she gets in the later books really enhances her character
favourite line: oh this is so niche but “none of this had been fated; none of it foretold. there had been no prophecies of a demon king or a dragon queen, a one-eyed tailor, heartrender twins. they were just the people who had shown up and managed to survive. but maybe that was the trick of it: to survive, to dare to stay alive, to forge your own hope when all hope had run out. for the survivors then, zoya whispered to herself as the people before her knelt and chanted her name. and for the lost.”
I love the theme of fate/destiny vs free will in the grishaverse and this is honestly one of my all-time favourite quotes - I'm actually considering having part of it as my yearbook quote!
favourite outfit: ooooh I love her outfit for the shu han heist in s2 (although obviously, honourable mention to the blue ribbon™ just for being iconic)
otp: see my answer is different for fanon and canon. in canon I adore zoyalina, in fanfic I love zoyalai!
brotp: zoya and genya are literally the BEST friendship duo ever (although I also low-key ship them romantically). zoya and nina are not necessarily a good friendship but I love analysing their dynamic so they get an honourable mention anyway. oh and her cousin lada, the girl liliyana adopts - we barely see them interact but I think they would have had such a cute dynamic!!
headcanon: she's a cat person. this is actually true and accurate bc I say so. she 100% owns cats post-canon
unpopular opinion: she shouldn't have become queen at the end of row. as iconic as it is, I can't help but think that it would backfire politically, it'd have negative consequences for her relationship with nikolai, and it kind of sets back both characters' development. this feels too harsh but idk 😭😭 might write a longer post about it at some point
a wish: for her and nikolai to fix the issues in their relationship. bc yes, I think in canon they have Issues™ but this is a fixable problem! she just needs to stop putting him up on a pedestal!!
an oh-god-please-don't-ever-happen: imagine if she actually did become darkling 2.0 lmao. it'd never happen bc I think leigh bardugo would never do that, but it would be absolutely awful
5 words to best describe them: complex, iconic, motivated, forceful, lonely
my nickname for them: idk sometimes I call her z/zee in my head (and project this fact onto other characters who I think would do the same)
give me a character and I will answer...
#mayhem.txt#answered#zoya nazyalensky#look I'm not a zoyalai anti I just think they need couples therapy#and there are Moments in canon that make me go 'hmmm. maybe they would be better as friends'#but I love reading fic about them!! (and occasionally writing it)

Something Just Like This is now complete on AO3...
Following the chaotic Who Omens polycule (Aziraphale, Crowley, the Doctor, Jack Harkness, and my OC Zee) through a variety of dates, hook-ups and adventures, exploring the relationships in more depth with a little history along the way.
Yes, there's a Coldplay theme to the chapter titles.
Formed of a selection of short stories, there is sure to be something for everyone. Synopses and individual chapter links under the cut...
Adventure of a Lifetime (Zee/Doctor) - fluff, fun and romance as the pair continue dating with a trip to an ice planet, and a Glastonbury gig.
Hymn for the Weekend (Crowley/Aziraphale) - On a rainy day, Crowley reminisces about the care his angel has shown for him over the millennia. Some smut towards the end.
Army of One 1 & 2 (Jack/Doctor) - a Doctor Who adventure with rogue AI and killer robots, our time-travelling lovers trying to save the day, and each other. Also, in flashback, Jack's 140 year wait for the right Doctor.
Higher Power (Crowley/Doctor) - the pair explore every aspect of their bond on a desert island planet. Emotional conversations, teasing and bickering, delicious multi-Tennant smut.
Magic 1 & 2 (Doctor/Zee/Jack) - 51st century sex toys take centre stage as Zee and Jack tease their lover. The main event? Zee tops the Doctor for the first time, with the aid of her incredible new toy.
Yellow (Aziraphale/Crowley) - Aziraphale's love for Crowley's eyes over millennia, from gorgeous brown to serpentine yellow. Romantic, often funny, and with increasing angst before the end.
Paradise 1 & 2 (Zee/Crowley/Aziraphale) - In the present, a movie marathon and eventual smut. In flashback, the story of this trio from their initial meeting to their first time together: how a woman entered a bookshop and got much more than she bargained for.
My Universe 1 & 2 (Doctor/Jack) - Finally visiting Voitune, the Doctor and Jack enjoy a romantic date. Jack has a very special gift for his partner. Meanwhile, the Doctor is musing on his journey falling in lust then love with his friend. Second part is pure smut.
A Sky Full of Stars 1-5 (Everyone) - A Doctor Who adventure with Good Omens flavour. The gang encounter a planet plagued by the divisive authoritarian rule of a religious dictatorship. How much of it is real? And can they save the population by inspiring a revolution? Mostly adventure, a little smut for four chapters, the fifth is just a smutty pay-off involving everyone.
feelslikeimfallinginlove (Doctor/Zee) - Circling back to the opening chapter, the Glastonbury date ends. Split-scene smut, with flashbacks to an igloo in Lapland contrasting with the present, as the Doctor takes Zee back to a special place. Will he finally express his feelings out loud?

MY THOUGHTS ABOUT EPISODES 5 AND 6 OF SEASON 2 OF TD2023!!!
MAJOR SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!
I'll get the ships out of the way - WE DIDNT GET RAJBOW DIVORCE!!!! REJOICE!!! Their conflict wasn't solved well, but at least it's solved man! Rajbow is still alive!
Ripaxel is actually really growing on me? The shipping hasn't overridden their personalities which was a MAJOR concern for me. Glad to see Axel still kicking ass and Ripper being actually funny! ALSO THEY BROKE THE COUPLE'S CURSE! Neither of them have even been at risk of being eliminated which is kind of insane because usually the couples in TD have one partner (or both in gidgette's case) be eliminated right after they're established but THEY DIDNT! YIPPEE!
Priyaleb on the other hand... Yeah i don't care for them, sorry! they are the obligatory straights of the season for me, i REALLY don't care now that Caleb might be returning those feelings (i can STILL hold on to my grey-romantic Caleb headcanons >:D ) and i prefered when they weren't returned! Zee's involvement was funny tho, and Priya's pretty enjoyable in episode 5! They're cute but i DONT CARE.
MKULIA IS STILL IN THE GAME! Love how the only thing that bothered Chris was that MK stole his hair dryer XD that is very in character!!! They were fun in episode 5 and hey! They're still doing the alliance bit since they got a duo confessional in episode 6 so im excited to see where they go next!!!
Damien was fun in episode 6. just got nothing to add i don't really care for this man
i LOVE ZEE AAAAAA HE IS SUCH A SILLY LITTLE NOODLE OF A MAN lowkey might be one of my favs now (in canon) they figured out how to make imaginative jokes that have to do with the soda bit! He is such a vibe man
MK's been great too, i like how the cheating had consequences without those consequences being getting kicked off the game!
i'll mention the challenges before going over the eliminations, the iceberg challenge was pretty nice imo, i think Ripper getting involved with the MKulia cheating is fun and him ripping his shirt off is funny tbh. The snowball fight was really fun too!
The obstacle course is fine, the wall with the boots reminded me of Wipeout (which, fun fact, is called Total Wipeout in french) so that was pretty neat
The kayak challenge had a neat twist, loved Axel just punching Ripper off the boat and the confessional right after was pretty funny. Axel and her stupid ass boyfriend, it's great
OK ELIMINATION TIME!!! CANT SAY I DIDNT CALL THEM BUT I TOTALLY DID!!!!
I did say Nichelle might get eliminated since the writters have done nothing with her, but i... don't like what they did at all. The movie deals should've been real and Julia just snuck them on her bed since they were sent to production and they didn't give them to her yet. it just. sucks that all but one elimination while the teams were active were girls, especially Emma's and Nichelle's. Scary Girl is 100% coming back later tho so we'll see!
ALSO. DID I PREDICT EXACTLY HOW BOWIE'D GET ELIMINATED OR DIDNT I? Ok it wasn't exact but i was right on the money in saying Julia would get him eliminated by telling the others about him supporting the cheating. especially since she did it to save MK, im considering that an MKulia win. For once im actually satisfied with an elimination this season! dang!
My predictions are kinda the same - Scary Girl coming back, MKulia being real, Priya being eliminated soon - but i'll add my specific thoughts on who i think will be next in terms of eliminations next monday i think.
DAMN, this post is LONG wow

my thoughts on the new td episodes (5-6) as i procrastinate on my essay WOOOO (spoilers below the cut):
dude i never knew how much i needed to see horses on water skis until errr like an hour ago
girlies (ripaxel) can we stop making out all the time pretty please ive been fairly neutral on them but if theyre gotta get post-island-gidgette'd then mmmmmm idk
BOWIE AHHHHHHHH i love bowie so much and i love that he was sooo worried about his relationship with raj and and and AHHHHHH eliminated is so sad :( like i said with the previous batch of episodes,, but i really do wish that these seasons were just a tad longer because i really would've loved to see more with rajbow and bowie having to regain raj's trust and mending that part of their relationship over multiple episodes,,, BUT WHAT WE GOT IS STILL GREAT !!!
this is just a me thing (and maybe an aroace thing idk), but i cannot handle blatant flirting like what we see with priya and caleb. idk im kinda romance repulsed irl and its 50/50 when i watch shows or movies (i have to actively and consciously like the ship),, and maybe i just dont like priya and caleb as a ship sdbfhsbdfhsbf im an ace lesbian priya and aroace caleb truther actually
but going of that ZEE OMG I LOVE ZEE i am a huge fan of getting the dumbest of asses to have to keep a secret (tyler in tdwt fr fr) and and and like hes such a good friend to priya about it like he is genuinely concerned about caleb using her LIKE OMG i love him silliest and most realest guy ever
also also with zee i will admit that i fully thought that hed be an early boot like 2nd or 3rd and i was very scared for my guy, but AHHHHHHH thank goodness he is here
DAMIEN SLAYING IS EVERYTHING I KNOW THAT EVERYONE AGREES I WANT HIM TO WIN FR
im waiting for the day raj and wayne are fully seperated,, meaning i think wayne is going to get voted off before raj and i will be ready for that angst of raj losing his boyfriend and best friend (omg what if wayne gets voted off literally the next episode ID CRY)
rip nichelle id hire you (im a broke college student)
siiiiigh anyway back to my godforsaken essay

I had never even heard of this magician woman before you started making art of her but I am oddly invested in your art of this funky little woman, she seems silly and goofy
no i know right. i had the same experience i was like "who the hell is this magician woman theyve got standing next to the justice league" and my partner was like oh Zatanna Zatara? everybody knows her (and she's IN the justice league)
shook me to my core. there was a sillygoofy magician the whole time i had never once heard of... now i'm so invested in her goofy shit. i'm glad my art is becoming a secondary source of infection ❤
optional: here's some things ive learned over the past 3 months
she was introduced as a weirdo in 1964. she's been weird and strange for 59 years and counting! next year will be her 60th anniversary #Hag
her whole gimmick is that she's a famous stage magician who also happens to be a real magician, which i think is very good
i think she joined the justice league in like 1978 or smthg shes Been Around
before i had the magician disease: no matter how much someone tried to explain her character to me, i couldn't grasp her. and now that i have first-hand magician disease: no matter how much i try to explain her to my partner, they can't grasp her. i think there's something aberrant about her. like she demands hands-on interaction to be truly perceived. but watch out for the spores
????
for a while she used to drag her Normal Manager around for magic adventures. his name was Jeff and i suppose he just took the constant near-death peril as part of the "managing a stage magician" job
some website once ranked her among the top 5 sexiest comic women, making her the highest-ranking DC character on the list #LetsGo #MagicianSweep
she's quite beloved and a pretty consistent feature but she doesn't get a ton of solo stuff 😔✌ but theyre reprinting her comic from 2010 next year woohoo happy 60th bitch
they forgot to really give her a power ceiling and her magic can pretty much do anything she can think of, so she's a consistent pain in DC's neck whenever she has to intersect with other characters and Big Serious Plots—but it's not like they can just leave her on the shelf entirely either
(i think powerscaling is fake & that "who would win a fight between x and y" is a fake question that depends on so much more than hard numbers, especially in a medium like comics. but i also think DC itself quite visibly feels a pressure to manage her + i think this quirk about her is extremely funny and i LOVE to see them try so hard to nerf their pesky magician)
in 2004 they made her part of a The Gang Commits Atrocities plot without really justifying Why she would do all that, and her next several years are Fascinating to watch as writers try to come up with various ways to make new sense of her character in light of it. until the whole dc comics continuity was wiped and relaunched in 2011, solving the problem by erasing the whole thing from canon (along with everything else)
the real crime of that whole incident? the '04 comic that started it wasn't even very good
she's listed on the DC Wiki category page for "Eldritch Blast"
currently serving time in the Justice League Dark branch department, which is where we keep all the weird grimy magic stuff so it doesn't get all over everything
for a second and not too long ago, the big leaguers exploded and died for a bit (long story also they got better) including zee. and they put a gigantic scary moving painting of her in the basement as a memorial. i think this is exactly what she would have wanted to be honest
this post
they should put her in the rwby crossovers more. she was in dc/rwby for a second but i want her in the damn movies. i think it'd be funny
i love her. that's what i've learned in the past 3 months
