there’s quite the convo that was going on on twitter today, which is super interesting to me, because it’s brought up often and usually from newer members to the fandom, particularly solos. we’ve been talking about this for years. so… idk, let’s talk.

this convo is of the gist that Larries made Harry and louis stop interacting due to our interest in them being together. we, apparently, are the ones who made either mgmt, or Harry and Louis themselves, entirely separate and go from best friends to absolutely nothing. and when I say absolutely nothing, like… they were so distanced it was ridiculous.

but here’s the thing… if you weren’t around at the time (there’s no issue with that btw!), ziam was the second biggest ship after larry. A bunch of Larries shipped ziam, and a lot of larry antis shipped ziam, as well as ziam having their own following regardless of larry. And yes, I was there, so im fully aware ziam wasn’t as big as Larry, but they were definitely a close second as far as “ships” go. there was also narry, zarry, lilo, and all the others, but larry and ziam dominated.

But… funnily enough, ziam weren’t separating due to a large speculation of them being in a relationship. it was printed and posted in multiple formats that zayn had said in an interview he told Liam to kiss him and he did (early days, yes), and they really gave off relationship vibes for a long time there, but they were still close and interacting very lovingly throughout the entirety of 1d. and regardless of your stance on ziam, they were clearly very close.

The thing with this is, is that gay rumours can be harmful to a fanbase with a demographic of young women, who the idea is to make the band desirable for women to be with to keep them interested etc., we’re all aware of that, but why wasn’t ziam separated? why weren’t all the boys asked to be super straight with each other? why was it so intense with larry?

Because if you don’t have anything to hide, you don’t hide anything. ziam still were carrying on in front of our faces while larry went through a multitude of stunts (that antis and now some solos also believed were stunts), and were so strictly kept apart that it was blindingly obvious something was going on. To make it seem the most real, you’d have all the boys being laddy bro pals with one another. but it was specifically larry who were extremely drastically pushed apart. of course there was no public “fight” printed to give us a reason as to why they became so far apart (that would signal an end to the band and worry etc.) to make sense of it, but they just were forced in their own lanes. anyone with two eyes can see that, and you could easily tell if they hated each other or not. but the small moments they did interact, showed us otherwise.

anyway, it’s very important to note that ziam did not stop being ziam regardless of the rumours, but larry did stop being larry drastically. they’re not homophobes, they weren’t scared of encouraging the rumours (AIMH and all the playful tweets and interactions), but they were clearly separated when larry kept being talked about further down the track. and if you can’t see that, well you may need to reevaluate and use some critical thinking. it’s happened before 1d too, it’s not rocket science.

anyway, sorry for the rant. it’s just frustrating when I see this convo when we’ve had it over and over again. so, for all the newer larries,if you haven’t already, take this into consideration as one of the very biggest pieces of larry evidence we have. because, well, it is. it may seem insignificant as it’s not a “moment”, but rather it’s a long and ongoing piece of evidence that there was something to hide, so they hid it. and they still do.

Itafushi (Jujutsu Kaisen)

It's my number 1 right now, like i love them so much! Their ship is really cute and i love the contrast between them and how they work so well together as friends and more! I'm always giggling and shit when i think about them even if they're doomed by the narrative :(

Zolu (One Piece Live Action/Animanga)

I really liked their dynamic after watching the live action so i mainly ship opla! zolu, but any content of this ship is cute and catches my interest! This ship literally made me write fanfics again lol More Zolu please!

Miyusawa/Misawa (Ace of Diamond)

Miyusawa my beloved ❤️ The first time i watched this anime it had been an instant ship, their chemistry is amazing, the pitcher/catcher dynamic is chef's kiss and just the development of their relationship throughout the show was the highlight for me! I watched everything again recently and i still love this ship very much, fave fave fave :')

They are everything honestly! The angst of it all and their beautiful relationship is just aaaah and the show is INCREDIBLE?? Whether it's friendship or more, they love each other so much. In my head they're canon, i mean after what Lu Guang did, for me that's just proof of his love for Cheng Xiaoshi... they make me ill

Renga (Sk8 the Infinity)

Sk8 was the anime of the season when it came out, the serotonin was just high with this one, especially during covid time. Reki and Langa's friendship was the cutest thing to watch and it was so genuine and then ep 7 happened and the ship just sailed really hard for me! So many cute moments while a beautiful relationship blossomed in front of our eyes!! Love!!

Kazurei (Buddy Daddies)

A new favorite from last year! The premise of the show was so engaging to me when it first came out and even though i knew Kazuki and Rei weren't going to be canon, we were still fed so well? Like Queerplatonic, same-sex parentality, friends to lovers trope??? we got everything and more, especially last episode like omg they're canon idc!!

Dreamling (The Sandman)

Fell in love with this ship instantly with just one episode and little content... the fandom got my back though, i was well fed and shipped them even harder thanks to all the fanarts and fanfics! i want season 2 right now and more of them!!

EmiSue (Dickinson TV)

Not my first wlw ship but definitely my favorite! From the first episode i knew they were soulmates and i wanted more of them together! The show gave us everything we wanted and i'm glad i got to witness it :)

Satosugu (Jujutsu Kaisen)

They're not Itafushi but they are Itafushi in some ways?? like parallels we can't ignore. It's a big ship in the fandom but i'm not as invested as many stsg shippers are, though i really like the ship, i read fanfics about them and i love their story in the first part of season 2! So much angst though...

Nobamaki (Jujutsu Kaisen)

I love them together, i think their ship is cute and has a lot of potential! I don't obssess with them enough and i should read more fanfics, but they're amazing so they stay at the top of my list!

So now apparently Zarry is taking over on Twitter again with viral tweets that has actual Zarries jumping for joy now because they have solo’s and just people who hate Larry using it as a hilarious and got you moment. It’s so gross, the amount of tweets that are like “how can anyone believe Larry when Zarry were clearly f*king” from the same people who call Larries “disrespectful”. It’s just so tiring and so obvious at this point that solo’s just hate Louis, and the only reason Zarry is a thing right now is because Zayn and Harry are the most popular and lusted after members from the band. They use the odd few old clips of Zarry to push a narrative yet ignore the mountains and mountains of Larry clips. Not to mention that Zouis were closer then Zarry back then and even they have more then Zarry did but because again it’s Louis it’s washed away ignored and ridiculed!

Yikes. Zarry is honestly a disservice to everyone involved.

I don’t understand people’s insistence that Zarry was actually a thing. Looking at Harry and Louis throughout the five years with the band, I just don’t see either of them ever hooking up or being in a relationship with any of the other guys. I really think people just think Harry and Zayn are both hot and they like the idea of it and have convinced themselves there’s something there.

i have fifty-six requests at the moment (wow!). please feel free to keep sending your thoughts and ideas in, but i wanted to let everyone know that i'm having a look to see what i can do...it might just take some time to get around to your request :)

i also have a similar amount of drafts, but they're rough. a few are four years old (aka shit), some are lines of dialogue for entire conversations with no other content...i can combine some, which i should look into soon because i might be able to find something someone requested lol.

since i don't know who asked for which fics, here's an update on what's (tentatively) cooking in the request realm.

it exists vaguely in less than 2000 words:

I assume you just mean in the sense something gay could have happened once not in the lsk sense? In the first case I completely agree but would also think Larry (or narry or zarry !) could also be “physically possible.” There is as much hard evidence (zero) for Kaylor is as there is for Larry (and the same kind of obvious obstacles like Josh and Eleanor and Louis/karlie being straight) - but I can believe something gay could have happened once in both cases bc shit happens. That doesn’t make it a relationship or anything beyond a homoerotic moment.

just in the sense that neither theory requires magic to be true. like it’s physically possible it’s within the realm of possible physics unlike many of the fairytales shared in the bible (someone coming back from the dead, walking on water, being possessed by a demon)

it’s not LIKELY but it’s more likely than magic being real.

even late stage kaylor does not require magic and the laws of physics being broken to be real. it requires like every law of human psychology and like occam’s razor to be broken to be real but it doesn’t require magic.

That's just me, annoyed with gatekeeping larries who will tell you straight up that you cannot call yourself a larrie if you think they fucked anyone but each other, if you aren't 10000% convinced they're married and together at this very moment, you have to think they never ever broke up or had an open relationship, and I'm sorry, but no, yeah, they were very much together a decade ago, but I have some inklings that it's fucking messy and AT BEST on again/off again now, which is absolutely normal. MEANWHILE, gaylors have it easier, if you're looking at Taylor Swift, the parallel there is kaylor, so if you're not a kaylor ride or die, you can say, wellll, at least I know she's not straight, I don't have to link it to a ship, I can say I'm a gaylor. But with larry? No such distinction, you have to say they're straight or they're married (or in some other relationship like xarry, zarry, narry, or dave), and i'm like, hey, justice for garries (i.e., they're gay, I don't know the actual specific status, but that's fine, at least I know they aren't straight)

a lot of it feels like old 1d haters looking for a new reason to hate him. his musical style has expanded so much since 1d split that they can't make fun of him for writing bubblegum pop songs, they can't the same homophobic jokes they did before (and let's not kid ourselves - at least 80% of the hate levied at one direction was homophobic) so they have to find something to hate him for.

I am 100% on board with your analysis of why there seems to be such a huge focus on harry and his "queerbaiting" recently being related to finding another reason except his queerness to hate on him for. Because you're right, they used to hate 1D something fierce and if if it wasn't homophobic, it was sexist in nature.

Because as someone who was very heavily a part of the 1D fandom from the very beginning, I have been here for ALL of the conversations regarding the boys' sexualities and whether or not it was problematic to be a larry shipper. I think it's so fucking interesting that the narrative has gone from "harry can't be gay! look at all these women he likes!" to "harry can't be gay! we've never seen him date a man! he's doing it for attention" because like he's the same harry he's always fucking been.

Like, I remember having VIVID discussions with people about whether or not we should assume louis and harry are dating because the only difference between their interactions and the other ships' is that louis and harry were the only "stereotypical" looking gay couple of the bunch. Like, literally every other combination was not "gay" enough and that's why larries focus so much on this ship instead of LiLo or Lirry or Zouis or Ziam or Zarry etc and like that was the point where I was like "actually you're right this feels a little stereotypical atp" and also there were discussions at the time that just because harry said he doesn't mind dating men doesn't mean he IS dating louis.

and now it's like... we've all collectively forgotten that? We've forgotten that we used to discuss whether or not harry's gay ass is "proof" of larry and what gets me is that people just seem to not realize or care to put these two things together and see how mayyyyyybe, just mayyyyyybe Harry doesn't feel comfortable enough to be *publically* queer because of the way it was commodified and denied and discussed so intensely during such a pivotal moment of life for him (like.. he was a teenager for 3 out of the 5 years 1D was around bro).

But not only that but he HAS confirmed he's part of the community but that he is unlabelled and unlabelled is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT VALID AND OKAY AND SHOULD NOT BE SEEN AS LESSER OF AN IDENTITY THAN LABELLED ONES ARE. Literally all that means is that none of the labels we have feel right for you and that's okay. It doesn't invalidate the diversity of experience you may or may not have nor does it get rid of the gay ass feelings u have for people of the same gender/sex as you. I don't understand this insistence that harry is not queer because he doesn't like labels and would rather just date a person than their genitals???? it definitely has to be related to society's hatred of "girly" things because if there is one thing harry is not, it's a man's man.

idk i just don't even care that fucking much about harry styles dude, I just care about society accepting "less than perfect" queers as queers without making us constantly have to prove that we're queer. let us live our lives as WE SAY WE ARE instead of making us prove our queerness to you everytime we exist outside of your narrow little stereotypes of us.

They were just having a plain good ol' outing on the streets, having fun in different cafes and trying out different dishes from sweets to more savory delicacies. Zarina wasn't one to usually go around to try street food, but it was a fun experience nonetheless. Koto seemed to be eager to try different things, especially if it meant trying to dry out Sokolova's wallet out of sheer pettiness. Or just plain fun. Or understanding that the silverette wasn't going to let th swordswoman pay for anything today, no matter how high the cost would go.

When they were not fighting, it was strangely idyllic. As Zarina leaned back against her chair, she was reading the menu for pastries and drinking her tea. The woman didn't notice what Unkaku was looking at or if she was doing anything, there was no sense of malicious or aggressive behavior; thus, it wasn't anything she wanted to pay attention to... until the very last second.

Koto's lips against her temple were warm. As warm as the Sun's light rays and their kisses on another's skin. Sokolova blinked twice before glancing at the swordswoman who returned to her mochi, a moment of silence was all that was needed for the criminal to let out a soft chuckle and a smirk appear on her lips. Oh, this was adorable. Koto never stopped showing her emotions so brightly and so colorfully. What a delightful turn of events today.

Then again, Zarina thought she deserved this small reward for taking the woman out and having such a relaxing day outside. A bit selfish, a bit self-important, but at least she didn't make fun of Koto and bullied her for that one moment.

"That was cute of you," she looks away from Koto and back to the menu. If others looked at it, they'd think they were a very cute couple that went outside for a date. Little did they know the dynamic between them was far more complicated than even the most plot-twisting novel could lay down in its plot. Reality was stranger than fiction, some would say. They would be right. "I'm going to order a cheesecake to go with my tea. If you still want anything to go with your mochi, tell me right now."

i tend to agree with what you say, but i came across your ask about danny, i agree in parts that they are not trying to prove things anymore, but certain things? are avoidable, the fantasy was a 100% avoidable thing and come on, everyone would think of louis, so for me it was highly purposeful, I don't believe they are together anymore, but that? I had doubts for a moment. I feel like if they're not together anymore, they need to let the larries go, you know? Sometimes I think they take advantage of situations and don't change because it's convenient.

omg yes, the zarries too. but at least in my experience with them so far is that they are not as loud and annoying as the larries, plus there are many who i saw ship them as just friends. i came across a video on tiktok today of harry singing you&i on live on tour in 2018 and saying 'i miss you' after zayn's part and they immediately made it a zarry moment lol

Yea there is not as many zarries as there is larries. Like I kinda see why they would think they are together but Harry’s songs tell a different story. It’s funny to see them try to make his songs Larry. “You got to change the pronouns and She is about the woman that lives inside Harry” 😂

with all the 1d content we’ve been getting- lilo at louis’ premier and niall confirming he was hiking with harry- i reread your 25 chapter fic which has become one of my ultimate comfort reads. thank you for allowing me to revisit something that brought me so much joy when i was younger through your writing!

with that being said, your writing has made me craaave more 1d h/c fics. i know you’ve got a fic coming soon and many more in the works, but id like to request a few things if it’s not too much…

- not sure if you’ve seen the video of harry suffering from hayfever in australia (during moments i think?), but the poor thing was really going through it. i’m sure he felt miserable and louis was there to help him through that :)

- harry needing his inhaler during 2012 msg performance

- harry’s cold on the late late show w james cordon. he sounded so sick so i’m sure he felt a lot worse than he let on
