humble bundle has a Nisioisin ebook/audiobook collection up! great way to get your hands on the Monogatari novels, and it also includes:
the Monogatari audiobooks (Kizu and Neko White)
the Zaregoto novels
the Bishounen Tanteidan novels and also the manga
all of Katanagatari
all of Imperfect Girl
a lot of the Monogatari manga
if you're interested in Monogatari or Nisioisin, you should absolutely check this out. this is nearly everything officially available in English, so it's a great place to start if you're curious about Nisioisin/Monogatari, or you want to go further with his writing

HAPPY NISIOISIN's & Zaregoto's 22nd anniversary!
On February 5th, 2002, Nisio made his debut with Zaregoto: Kubikiri Cycle. People know him for the Monogatari Series, but he's written so many other emotional works Please go check them out! (Yes, even if you hated Monogatari)

I truly believe that there's something for everyone in Nisio's works. He writes characters in a way that shows he has a deep emotional understanding of what it means to be living through hardships & he never does so cheaply, it's clear he wants them to be understood. In fact, in his "autobiographical" work "Imperfect Girl" he declares that he writes for those who aren't usually represented, i.e. those with trauma, the depressed, the losers, the out of place, and so many others This man has written over 100+ books. Hell, one of the best books I've ever read, Zaregoto vol. 2: Kubishime Romanticist, was written in only 3 days. There's bound to be something you'll like from his works I always recommend that people read Zaregoto, but if novels aren't your thing I'd strongly suggest Medaka Box. It's a manga that's stuck with me deeply throughout the years, on the surface it's about "the powerful", "the normal", and "the losers" but it ends up being so much more
If fanservice is something you hate, I highly recommend his Katanagatari, Zaregoto, and Okitegami Kyouko series specifically. Okitegami Kyouko even has a wonderful live action TV show!

Whether it is the mysteries, ideas or characters, how did Nisio Isin inspire Danganronpa?
Isin's debut novel Kubikiri Cycle (volume 1 of the Zaregoto series) is a murder mystery involving an arguably untalented POV character and the best people in their respective fields. Much like Junko, Kubikiri Cycle's culprit fakes her death by disguising a victim as herself.
The novel and all of its sequels also feature a character artificially made to have every talent. Another element present in Kubikiri Cycle and established a lot more clearly in the rest of the Zaregoto series is that luck is a real phenomenon that can be manipulated by people who understand how it works.
Medaka Box is set in a school secretly dedicated to studying talent in order to create the ultimate human being, has the same manipulable luck thing as Zaregoto, and something like V3's relationship with the fourth wall. I already talked about Medaka Box's part here.

Nisio is also very good at being funny without making jokes or messing with the flow of the narrative.

is there a character from another anime that you think it would be good for Nadeko Sengoku to make friends with?
i was mulling this one over for a while bc nadeko is quite reclusive and introverted, for lack of a better word. i think aikawa jun should show up and give her some advice every once in a while. a mentee mentor type things. nadeko needs a good guiding figure who isnt as.... like that as the monogatari adults are. aikawa is bombastic enough to carry the convo and responsibility and could impart good words. and they can have a nice wholesome vibe going on. ill go with that

do you ever think about Nisioisin? because i do. a lot. here's an essay about anonymity and how that works for a pseudonymous author as unique and distinct as Nisioisin

I'm new to the zaregoto series, i just watched the anime and got obsessed with Jun and i want to see more of her, i head that theres a LN with her as a protagonist, can i read it without reading the other volumes? If yes then whats the name of this LN?
Hey, I love Aikawa Jun too! The LN series you're talking about is called the Saikyou Series (Strongest Series). It's wonderful. It's one of my favorite parts of the Zaregoto Series. I mean my profile picture is from it, even. The art Take has done for it is stunning.

But no, you shouldn't read it before reading Zaregoto. The biggest reason being that it's set years after the main series itself and requires a lot of context for her. If you really care about her character, I wouldn't recommend it until after the Zaregoto Series because a lot of the meaningful moments with her won't be as impactful. Another reason you can't really read it is that it's mostly untranslated. However, what has been translated can be found on @mirroredtranslations ! Please go read Zaregoto, Jun is very much involved in it and it's one of the reasons I've come to love her so much. She's also featured in other spin-offs like the Ningen Series (Human Series) which has a few manga that adapt parts of it (Ningen Shiken and Ningen Knock) Official English translations for the series as a whole are mostly missing but fans have translated some of it: You can find Zaregoto volumes 1-9 translated in English on here (make sure you're starting from Vol 1, the site shows Vol 4 first) Some of Saikyou Series on here And if you're curious about the few Ningen Series LNs which don't feature Jun but are fan translated: Vol 1, Vol 3 chapter 3, Vol 7 Ningen Series manga: Shiken and Knock The Ningen Series is all over the timeline and focuses on the Zerozaki family in the Zaregoto universe, but Knock features Jun in her teenage years. So Knock is more of a prequel, but still requires context from Zaregoto proper.
