Kind of cool by Scott Westerfeld to have the mysterious, charismatic male bad guy leader of the cool clique aka Zane have anorexia.

Just sad that he didn't really manage to show Zane, Tally and the others glorify the ever living hell out of it and unmistakably show that they are wrong and just how dangerous that is. That could have been so powerful, especially at that time

I think I’m going to kick start the Uglies Renaissance. I’ve been obsessed with this book series for years and have so much to say about it. It’s been hard over the years because of the fandom being so little but I want to see it shine! Regardless of how people feel about the movie, these books just need more love and if the movie does turn out to be great we definitely want to be able to see it finished instead of left hanging like Vampire Academy and The Mortal Instruments, (yes they got TV shows, but they never made it past a season or 2) so stayed tuned for me and my ugly shenanigans!!

So wtf is going on with Peris in a weird super suit (sneak suit maybe?) in what looks like the Smoke?

I'm getting the feeling this is supposed to be the Specials' suits but book Peris is very much not a Special. He's the most basic bubblehead to ever bubblehead. The thought of Peris even stepping foot in the wilderness after turning Pretty is unbelievable.

Spoiler alert for anyone who hasn't read the books and wants to go into the movies fresh:

in Pretties when Peris stays behind because he doesn't actually want to rebel or go to the Smoke and he's just happy being a beautiful bubblehead with no care in the world was such a shock to me on a first read. You realize that Tally and him were hanging on to their childhood friendship and didn't really have that much in common anymore. Tally's world had expanded after seeing the Smoke and being with Zane kept her bubbly and striving for more out of life than constant partying and opulence. The fact that she was able to escape from the city/special circumstances twice and think her way out of being a bubbleheaded Pretty is why she was chosen to be a Special. Peris had the opportunity to escape and get the cure but he was like nah I'm good. He would never be chosen to be a Special. Especially in book 1 before he's even a Crim!
