Roxy not only took his brother in the divorce but she also gave this brother the family business.
Pfft in this new set up for New Management AU I have, it'd be pretty funny if instead of putting Freddy or Bonnie in charge or anything, Roxy puts guys from Sewerhell in charge instead. Zags (an old Freddy) is now in charge of Fazerblast and while Freddy completely expected her to pull something like this, he's still incredibly unimpressed. Of course she picked Zags. Zags is like if Roxy was a fucking bear. Why is he not surprised in the slightest.
Bonnie is less bothered. He knows he's a bimbo. He's very proud of not knowing what the braincell looks like. He understands completely. Though he does pull a shovel talk style thing on whoever she picks to size them up for the job. Just for funsies.

I hate to do this, and it's a long shot I know, but things are getting desperate and it seems like I'm going to be waiting WAY longer than I should be for something that's fairly urgent.
I'm a disabled trans man living in the UK. Recently I was found to have severe anemia, and came up with my FIT test (gastrointestinal cancer screening) a few months ago, and was referred for a colonoscopy to find out the cause, since it looks like I'm having a slow but constant bleed through my GI tract. However, my referral has been awaiting review for over three months now. I'm not even on the waiting list, I'm waiting for someone to decide if I need to be on the waiting list. Since then I've started having GI symptoms such as pain, intermittent loss of appetite, etc. as well as my anemia worsening significantly.
This is of course pretty urgent, but it looks like I'll be waiting months longer once I finally get on the waiting list too. I really have no choice but to get it done through a private hospital, because of the time sensitive nature of, you know, potentially having cancer. I managed to put some money away out of the backpay I got from PIP, but it's not enough.

Currently I have around £1,400 stashed away from PIP backpay I got after they royally fucked things up (however I may need to dip into this at points if I find myself struggling). Together the consultation plus the colonoscopy will cost £2,619, which leaves me about £1220 behind. I know I'm most likely not going to get that much from this, but I honestly have no choice but to try my luck here. I really don't know what else I can do.
I really don't like asking for money from people for nothing, but I have a Ko-fi store where I sell handmade screen printed patches, and I'll be adding more designs to it over the coming weeks when I have the time and energy to make new screens. I'm also offering commissions for custom band patches! (Due to Kofi's TOS I can't officially offer patches for bands without their permission.). Below are a few examples of my work:

I know a lot of people aren't doing well financially right now, and that there are people in far, far more dire situations who probably need your help far more than I do, but I would appreciate any purchases of patches or help you can offer so, so much. Extremely rare' 3,000-year-old sword discovered in Germany is so well preserved it SHINES, archaeologists say. In 2023, The weapon, believed to be 3,000 years old, was dug up in the small town of Nordlingen last week. Experts were shocked it was so well preserved that it actually shined, despite laying in a grave of three people. The three bodies included a man, woman and teenager, with researchers left puzzled over whether they were related. 'The sword and burial still have to be examined for our archeologists to further classify this find,' said Mathias Pfeil, head of the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments. 'But it can already be said now that the preservation is exceptional! A find like this one is really rare.' Despite its age, the sword's zig-zag pattern is still completely visible, punctuated with studs and rivets. While experts believe it was difficult to create, they are convinced it was a real weapon, designed for sharp cuts. At the time, there were just a few European hotspots for trading these types of swords, including southern Germany, north Germany and Denmark. Swords from Nordlingen often belonged to the 'Urns' during this period- distinguished by their custom of cremation during the late Bronze era. While Urnfield culture is believed to have first appeared in northern Italy and eastern-Europe, this reached various other countries such as Germany and Ukraine. Warlike behaviour is thought to have spread through members of this community at the time, just before the Tumulus Culture era commenced. This saw a huge advancement in Bronze weaponry and armour. However, the team remain unsure where this newly-found sword was made and will be investigating further in due course. They even point to 'wandering craftsmen' and imports as a potential source of the sword. The German discovery comes just months after a 3,000-year-old toddler's shoe was found in a north Kent riverbed. Remember my post about warp knitting last week?
I made a point to mention that warp knitting is most commonly made on specialized machines. When done by hand, it is easiest with a loom or a specialized frame. I've found a few examples of people hand making small swatches by hand and posting the results online with instructions, but the process is just not well suited for full size projects.
If you're feeling curious and want to try something similar to this technique, the Color Warp Cowl is a hybrid stitch that falls somewhere between traditional hand knitting and warp knitting. In warp knit fabric, there's one yarn for each stitch, in my cowl pattern, there's one yarn for every 3 stitches. Each yarn makes a color stripe, zigging and zagging its way to the bottom of the cowl. The method is simple, only using knits and purls to create the zig zag effect. I know that it can be intimidating to see a project with a lot of bobbins, but the pieces are relatively short and easy to untangle. I kept my project in a bowl to keep things organized and had very few issues.
The 20g pieces of yarn are a great way to use your scraps and it’s best to use at least five colors for this project.
Finished Size: 24.5” (62 cm) in circumference and 18” (41 cm) tall.Needles: #7, 8, 9, 10 (4.5, 5, 5.5, 6 mm) circular needles with a 16” (40 cm) cord.
Gauge: 18 sts x 36 rows = 4 x 4” (10 x 10 cm) square in garter stitch on smallest needle.
Materials: Stitch marker, tapestry needle, and a scale accurate to the gram.

A recent interview of Alison Mosshart from The Kills for music magazine Dans Ta Face B. Full interview under the cut and French version on their website.
La Face B : You’ve just released your sixth album, God Games, twenty years after your first record. Which means you’ve been making music together for two decades now. You’ve mentioned a few times in recent interviews being ‘terrified’ of the process of recording this album. Obviously, danger is inherent to creativity and passion. What were you scared of in particular, regarding your own history as a band? Can one as a musician actually ever get rid of this fear? Alison Mosshart : I think as an artist, fear is good. Fear keeps one alert and desirous to discover something new in oneself, in one’s work, and about the world. Fear is a simple word to describe “facing the unknown.” At the start of every album, you are facing the unknown. There is nothing, a blank page... and you have to muster up the courage to turn this nothingness in somethingness. And not just any old thing. But something truly great. Even though we’ve been writing music together for 20 years, nothing is a given. Nothing is taken for granted. We constantly must prove to ourselves and to one another that we’ve got the goods. Every record is as important as the first, at least to the artist.
La Face B : When I first heard the album, I was under the impression that I was listening to a movie sequence or a journey, with some kind of movements. You kept the traditional verse-chorus structure in most songs, but they also sound like something else. What do you think evolved the most in your music over the years? And on the other hand, is there something that definitely stayed true to your first sound?
Alison Mosshart : A couple of things. We both think the traditional verse chorus structure is a little at odds with the mind. Whereas novels and poetry and film... can veer around elegantly, it’s a little hard with rock n’ roll structure sometimes. It’s nice not following the traditional rules and allow some abstraction.
Thoughts by nature...zig zag, skip, don’t really work in liner or predictable order. Thoughts lead to thoughts lead to other thoughts say “california can’t be trusted” to “I love rollercoasters” to “Thursday’s good for me,” to “I wonder what happened to Bob?” “Green car,” “dog bit my face,” “phone’s dead again” “papercut!” And on and on and on.
Having said all that, I do think our music is very visual. It seems to contain its own colours and shapes and tactility. I know when a song is done by listening to it and seeing it from start to end. When it feels like I’m watching a play or a short film and I’m satisfied with what I’ve seen, I’m happy with the song. If I’m listening and the scene freezes, there is still work to do.
La Face B : Did having another person involved in the studio give you a different perspective on your music?
Alison Mosshart : Having another person in the room always gives you a different perspective. You know right away if a song is working by feeling the energy of that person hearing it for the first time. They don’t have to say a word. The truth is just there.
La Face B : Your lyrics almost always address another person, like a dialogue between two people. Love and hate, hope and failure, tenderness and violence blend into each other in the stories you tell. They also almost always convey a sense of urgency. Alison, do you still record and write your lyrics in your car while driving at fast speed, CARMA-style?
Alison Mosshart : Sure. We’re all contending with one another and ourselves. There is surely a lot of back and forth and push and pull going on in the lyrics. The war is never won, right? About cars, I love to drive. It’s very meditative for me. A lot of ideas come when I’m behind the wheel. I do still have a little Dictaphone in the car that I keep handy. It’s a safer option then a pen and pad.
La Face B : When I first saw you in 2011 at Rock en Seine during the Blood Pressures tour, there were two other musicians with you onstage. Lately, it looks like you’ve gone back as a two piece again. Is it important to you not to depend on anyone? Is it a way of not having to compromise?
Alison Mosshart : Different times call for different measures. We love playing with other musicians and we love playing as a two piece. During certain records, it made a lot of sense to have the back up. But it was a different time in the music industry too. We’re in a different world now 6 years later. Streaming has made it unaffordable to hire extra musicians. Which I think is ultimately a very bad thing. I hope one day things change.
La Face B : The Kills have always been a very visual band. Alison, you’re also a painter, and Jamie, I’ve heard in a recent interview that you would have loved to collaborate with Lucian Freud… Do you feel the need to explore other art forms to maintain this global approach to music?
Alison Mosshart : We’ve always painted, drawn, taken photos, filmed things. I love every art form. I don’t think it’s important to do all these things to maintain a global approach to music. I’m not sure what a global approach to music even is. I just love making art. It all comes from the same place I think.
La Face B : A friend of mine who doesn’t like rock music was telling me the other day how he thought he witnessed the best rock concert he’s ever been to after seeing you live in Paris, precisely because your music didn’t sound like rock to him. I found that very interesting because you do have that kind of bluesy-guitar signature style, while also playing with noisy textures that could come from a cut-up approach, like hip hop music does. Do this kind of approach inspire you? Do you pay any attention at all to genre while writing?
Alison Mosshart : We see ourselves as an electric guitar band before a rock n’ roll band. With an electric guitar and a vocal, you can do anything, any genre, any style, fuck around with any rhythm you want. Being a two piece is the only limit we have, everything else, every idea that we can conceive of starting from that point, is fair game.
La Face B : Lastly- I recently came across these images and immediately thought of The Kills. A series of photographs by John Divola titled ‘Dogs Chasing My Car in the Desert’, which he took in 96-98 while driving in the Southern California desert, conjuring existential themes like isolation and desire, man versus wild, joy versus fear. It made me think of God Games’ cover, with the bull and the matador, but it also reminded me of Don Van Vliet’s painting retreat in California after Captain Beefheart’s ending, and of Vanishing Point’s iconic car chase. Basically a lot of the things you’ve often mentioned as an inspiration. I wanted to point it out to you, see if you knew this photographer. What does it evoke for you?
Alison Mosshart : I love this photo series. Meditative again, like driving a car. It’s cool to see stills of animals running, their shape, their sleekness, the body transformed into a bullet. I don’t know why but it makes me think of Benton Harbor, Michigan in the snow and the dogs at Key Club (a recording studio we worked at a lot) running down the desolate main street in a town that time forgot. These photos look like love and loyalty to me.

MINUTAL MATIANUM (ROMAN PORK WITH APPLES, 1st c.)
It's a been a tougher week than usual - my husband broke his leg and had surgery, and I'm dealing with some dental pain - but amongst it all, I thought it would be a good idea to treat ourselves with a Tasting History dish that is especially hearty and comforting: Minutal Matianum (Roman Pork with Apples). From the quintessential Roman source by Apicius from the 1st c., De Re Coquinaria, this meat dish is made using ingredients that would have been available to Roman soldiers in Britain, near forts in the area of Hadrian's Wall. This hearty dish was probably closer to what the officers of the Roman army would have eaten rather than the foot soldiers, however. I decided to make this dish because my husband and I have enjoyed most of the Roman recipes I've made so far, and Max exclaimed this was the best Roman dish even he had made so far. We hope this dish provides us with the fortitude of a Roman soldier on the frontiers! My experience making it:
As usual for me with Roman recipes, I struggled to compile all of the specific listed ingredients, but I did my best! I sourced a pork shoulder from our local butcher, and for the ground meat, I used a mix of 60% beef and 40% pork (a very common mixture here in Germany). For the pork roast rub, I used oil, a bit of salt, lots of pepper, and a tablespoon and a half of linden tree blossom honey. For the meatballs, I didn't use any egg to bind them, as I didn't have any on hand. Instead of garum, I used an Asian fish sauce (which Max suggests as a substitute). For the apples, I used some sweet Pink Lady apples (which I definitely snacked on while I was cooking). Instead of the long pepper Max used, I used the tablespoon of peppercorns. I decided to omit the asafoetida completely, as I couldn't find it at 4 different supermarkets, including the bio-supermarket and the Turkish supermarket. I've recently learned that I should look instead at an Indian supermarket, so now I'm on the hunt for one! I reduced grape juice myself to make defrutum, as Saba seems a little expensive. Instead of starch/cornflour, I used regular white flour, since I think they would function fairly similarly.
First, I set out making the rub for the pork roast. Nice and simple with olive oil, salt, pepper, and honey, I loved that I could customize this part to my tastes (give me that sharp pepper taste!). Next, because I didn't have a roasting rack, I made one myself out of tin foil by taking a large sheet, rolling it into a snake shape, and curving it into a zig-zag pattern on top of a layer of tinfoil at the bottom of my pan. It fit the pork perfectly, and then I added the rub and tossed it in the oven. My pork shoulder was just over 2 pounds, so I roasted it for just over 2 hours. While it was cooking, I rolled my meatballs (sans egg), ground my spices for the sauce in the mortar and pestle (which took awhile), and chopped and portioned the ingredients for the next steps. When the pork was almost done cooking, I began cooking the meatballs in olive oil, also adding in the leeks. I added in the chicken stock and garum, stirring to get any bits from the bottom to release their flavour.
While this cooked on the stovetop, the pork roast was ready to take out of the oven. It looked wonderful and smelled delicious! I let it sit for a little bit, then chopped it into cubes and added them to the pot with the meatballs. I added in the cilantro, then a little bit more chicken stock so the pork and meatballs were 3/4 submerged and sizzling nicely in the juices. I simmered it for 15 minutes, then added the apple chunks. I simmered it further, but for less than the 20 minutes in the recipe (more like 15). I portioned the meat and apples into our serving bowls to cool a little while I prepared the quick sauce, being sure to leave some of the juices in order to provide the base to the sauce. I added the juices, defrutum, white wine vinegar, garum, and honey to a pot, added the crushed spices/herbs, and brought it to a light boil, stirring often. I made a roux with some flour by mixing a bit of water into it, then added it to my sauce to thicken it. By the looks of it, I think I ended up thickening it a decent amount more than Max did, but I like a thicker sauce, so I wasn't too upset about that. I took it off the heat once it was combined and thickened, and drizzled it over the pork, meatballs, and apples. It looked absolutely scrumptious - the sauce added a nice silky shine to the meat, the leeks added a pretty green, the peppercorns some texture, and the apples a beautiful yellow and red pop of colour. I served the Minutal Matianum with a side Greek Salad to balance the heaviness of the meat.
My experience tasting it:
I made sure my first bite was with pork, apple, and some sauce - it was very tasty! The pork was tender enough, but I might have overcooked it just a little. Luckily, the tougher, hearty texture was balanced by the crisp and light flavour of the apple and the acidity, sweetness, spice-infused, and herbed flavour of the silky gravy-like sauce. Like Max mentioned, the sauce first tastes a bit sour due to the vinegar, but it melts into a sweetness from the defrutum and honey. It is still a very 'Roman' flavour of sauce - I could taste hints of the previous Roman sauces I have made in other dishes in this one, but this one was more like a gravy, and maybe more in line with the modern palate. In terms of herbs and spices, I found that peppercorn and cilantro were the most forward in the sauce - the mint and cumin were just barely there. I decided to make my next bite a meatball with some sauce, apple and leek: an absolute winning combo! I don't always have time to make a pork roast, so I can't see myself making Minutal Matianum often in its complete form, but I will most certainly make the sauce with apples and meatballs again in the future. Like Max, my husband and I both agreed this is our favourite of the Roman dishes I've made so far. This is a great meal for late fall/early winter, and I will probably make it again as the weather gets colder this fall. Put oil, garum, stock, chopped leek and cilantro and small ground meatballs in a pot. Chop previously cooked shoulder of pork with skin into cubes. Cook all together. Half-way through cooking add cored and diced Matian apples. While it cooks, grind pepper, cumin, cilantro and coriander seed, mint, and silphium root, pour in vinegar, honey, garum, defrutum, and some of the cooking liquid. Adjust the flavors with vinegar. Bring to a boil. Add broken tracta to thicken. Sprinkle pepper and serve.
Modern Recipe
Based on De Re Coquinaria by Apicius (1st c.) and Max Miller’s version in his Tasting History video.
Ingredients:
Roasted Pork
Pork shoulder
Olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Honey
Pork and Apples
1 tbsp olive oil
3/4 lb (340g) ground pork or beef, shaped into 1” balls
1 cup chopped leek
1 cup (235ml) chicken stock, plus extra as needed
2 teaspoons garum*
Small handful chopped cilantro
1 lb (450g) roasted pork, cut into cubes
1 lb (450g) sweet apples, cored and cut into about 1” pieces
Sauce
1 tsp cumin
2 tsp chopped cilantro
1 tbsp coriander seeds
2 tsp chopped mint
4 long peppers or 1 tbsp of peppercorns
1/2 tsp asafoetida
1/4 cup (60ml) white wine vinegar
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp garum*
1/4 cup (60ml) defrutum**
1/4 cup (60ml) cooking liquid from the pork and apples
2 tsp starch or cornflour
*Garum was a fermented fish sauce that was used in a lot of ancient Roman cooking. You can buy a modern equivalent or use an Asian fish sauce.
**Defrutum was a 1/3 reduction of grape must. Today, Saba is pretty much the same thing. It can be expensive, so you can reduce some grape juice instead.
Method:
For the roasted pork: Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Line a baking sheet with foil, then place a roasting rack on top of it.
In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, salt, pepper, and honey. There should be enough to coat the pork roast. Adjust the amounts to your liking.
Brush the olive oil mixture onto the pork, then roast for 15 minutes.
Lower the temperature to 275°F (135°C) and cook for about an hour per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
For the pork and apples: Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat, then add the meatballs and leeks and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they start to brown.
Deglaze the pot with the chicken stock and garum. Toss in the cilantro and roasted pork. Add enough additional chicken stock so that it covers the bottom of the pot.
Simmer for 15 minutes, adding more stock if necessary.
Add the apples, then cook for another 20 minutes or until the meatballs are fully cooked.
For the sauce: Grind the spices and herbs with a mortar and pestle, then put them in a saucepan with the liquid ingredients. Stir together and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Mix the starch with a little water, then add it to the sauce. Simmer for a couple of minutes until it thickens.
To serve: Dish the pork and apples into a bowl, drizzle with the sauce, and serve it forth.

FYI miraculous nation the alliance ring is official merch from the Zag website! it comes in all the standard sizes, it’s made of stainless steel, and it has all the detailing seen on the show’s 3D model with the addition of the ZAG logo on the inside of the band. it’s got good weight to it too, it definitely feels like you’d imagine a ring that is also a smartphone to feel. put my partner back $40 which is surprisingly fair pricing for merchandise that is also functional jewelry lol. i’ve been wearing it around and it’s done great resisting the general wear-and-tear of life so far!!
there’s quite a bit of good jewelry modeled after the miraculous aimed at older fans of the show :] from what i’ve seen all the reviews are really good so there shouldn’t be any issues with quality or longevity

Below the cut are links to some of my favorite cross stitch supplies.
I'm not getting kick backs or anything for the links below, I just wanted to share what I use with everyone.
Storage
Storage: Plano 23700-20 Stowaway with Adjustable Dividers
Floss Drop Bobbins: Ultimate Bobbin Drops by GWStitchinDepot on Etsy
Floss Reel by CreativeKeepsStudio on Etsy - used to cut precut my floss in equal lengths to use with my floss drops.
My fav bobbins (above) are on the expensive side, but I do have some cheaper ones I use as well.
White Plastic Bobbins
Clear Floss Drops
White Paper DMC Bobbins
For projects, I also have colorful floss organizers so I don't have to have a bunch of bobbins out.
Labeling
I'm a label nerd so I've made all my own labels and printed them on Vinyl sticker paper, but there are ready made labels you can find.
DMC Labels
Scissors
Embroidery scissors - I highly recommend buying a pair meant for embroidery because they tend to have a sharper, thinner tip. You can use a seam ripper to undo errant stitches, but I find embroidery scissors work better for that. You can get these anywhere, I got my latest pair through amazon.
Fabric Prep
Zig Zag Craft scissors - they say that cutting aid with a pair of zig zag scissors keeps it from unraveling... and I have experienced that, however, I also find that it still sheds, just teeny, tiny pieces. I got mine through amazon.
Nylon Upholstery Thread - this is my preferred thread for whip stitching the edge of my aida. I fold the edge of my fabric in two or three rows and then use the whip stitch to go around the edge of the whole project to keep the edges from fraying. I currently use navy blue because that's what I have, but there are multiple colors to choose from.
Gridding
Sulky Metallic Thread - the thread I use to do the gridding on my projects. You can find it on Amazon, but their website allows you to use Amazon Pay and you get a wider selection and better pricing ordering through them directly.
Aida
Plain white Aida - Walmart usually has the best price, but be aware that sometimes that comes with a cost in the form of rectangles instead of squares
Amazon - they have some WILD multicolored Aida for reasonable prices.
Mill Hill - they have a perforated PAPER for cross stitching and I was skeptical at first… but after using it… I love it! And it doesn’t hurt my hands like the plastic Aida I used to use. You can get this product on Amazon and on Everything Cross Stitch.
Wax/Thread Conditioner
Premade Beeswax Rounds in Plastic Containers - I used to use these all the time because it helped with knotting and my thread fraying... but they kept getting soooo expensive.
Now I just buy beeswax. Originally, I bought bars but I found them too hard to cut.
So I melted them down and make my own cubes that I can remelt, remove any thread bits and reuse.
Beeswax - the bars I bought are no longer available, but you can really use anything.
Square molds - I ended up cutting mine into smaller sections because it was easier to handle.
Silicone Measuring Cup - the first time I did this, I melted the wax in a candle making container... but now I just melt them in this on a cheap candle warmer and it works perfectly.
Beading
Bead Storage - this has become more important with me doing Mill Hill designs.
Bead trays - these are meant for diamond painting, but they work great for beads.
Misc
Stitch Starter by Blue Ribbon Designs on Etsy - 3” square ruler to help you find the perfect place for your first stitch
Cross Stitch Gauge by SnugglyMonkey on Etsy - basically a ruler to help you with determine which size Aida you are working on
DMC Thread Color Card - you can get this as multiple places. Most have the printed version, but if you can get (or make) the one that has the actual thread samples… I highly recommend.
Telescoping Magnet - a must for finding needles that fall on the floor. It will happen. Protect your feet.
Silicone Finger Protector - I originally got these for using hot glue, but I found that I use them more for cross stitching. I did end up cutting one so it just covers the my finger to the first knuckle, otherwise I find my fingers get too sweaty.

Ok, so this was mainly Una's idea, to be fair. She has the Nerd Brain Aspiration, has always loved outer space and naturally ended up on the weirdest of websites. There, she stumbled upon the Mystery of Strangerville. She can't wait to see where this takes them!
Orion is mostly here becuase she loves her (sorta adoptive) baby sister and why not join her? Orion is a bit of a nerd too, but with the Country Caretaker Aspiration she mainly wants to grow plants and be outdoors as much as she can. She's intrigued by the story of Strangerville, but not too convinced there's anything to it.
Jaycee? Well, honestly - she just wanted to get away from her family. She's always felt controlled by them, and misunderstood. She actually has the Championship Rider Aspiration. But well, has never owned a horse. So she's here for Zag and Rocky and because her friends are the only people she got. The story of Strangerville? Mmm yeah, that actually scares her.

10-6 Byrup
Gisterenavond was er alleen een pizzeria open, het werd de vegetariana en die was zeker niet slecht.
Vanmorgen om 7 uur stond er een ontbijt voor me klaar in een uitgestorven hotel, ik was de enige gast. Personeel zag ik ook niet, maar wel een warm eitje, vijf pakken vruchtenyoghurt (met verschillende smaken) verse broodjes, worst, kaas, muesli, kortom het was compleet.
Om half acht ben ik onderweg en het lukt me zowaar om tegen negenen lekkere koffie te vinden bij de warme bakker van Vejen, een waar trefpunt voor bejaarden. De wind komt wat meer van opzij vandaag, maar ik krijg regelmatig een duwtje in de rug. Veel dreigende wolkenformaties, maar er valt geen regen van betekenis meer uit.
Ik fiets deels een variant op de route van 2017, iets meer grindwegen en ik kom niet meer langs Kragelund. Waar ik wel weer langs kom, is Kollemorten (Sint Maarten zeggen wij, zij zeggen dode Maarten) en de Petrusbron. Dat is een soort natte kuil in het weiland en ik loop er naar toe om de zegen over mijn knieën af te smeken, dat heeft in 2017 ook goed geholpen. En ik bezoek het middeleeuwse kerkje dat er vlak bij staat.
Onderweg zie ik nog een jonge vos in een weiland die zo onder het prikkeldraad door op een rijdende auto afrent. Pas op het laatst realiseert ie zich dat dat geen goede actie is en hij keert weer om.
De laatste 20 kilometer naar de camping zijn pittig, veel klimmetjes over grindwegen.
Als ik om half vijf bij de camping aangekom is de receptie gesloten, maar er hangt het verzoek om je plek te boeken en te betalen via de website. Dan kom in je onbegrijpelijke Deense keuzemenus terecht en de mededeling, sorry the english site is under construction. Ik besluit dan maar gewoon de camping op te fietsen en kom prompt een Nederlandse caravan met inwoonster tegen. Ja de douches zijn gewoon open en je hebt geen pasje nodig. Als ik onder de douche stap zie ik nog wel een soort chiplezer aan de muur, maar zonder chip geeft ie ook warm water. Zo nou ben ik benieuwd wie er morgenochtend het eerste op is, de receptionist of ik.

★ BEST EXPERIENCE: I... honestly can't think of any? I've had more bad experiences than good. Maybe I'd say when I finally found my footing with independent OCs with Izren and ended up buddies with Bear and his whole entourage of writing partners. I've joined up on Discord servers with people I write with in the past, but I've never had fun like we do on his server. Plus we play D&D!
★ PREFERENCE OF COMMUNICATION: Discord is my go-to if you wanna reach me. I use Tumblr IMs too, though with how they're about as functional as a Bethesda game, I often ask if we can move over to DMs.
I've got my Discord tab open 24/7 on both my laptops, plus I have the app on my phone. I lurk a lot. But nine times outta ten, I'm more of a reactive replier, almost always messaging back rather than messaging first.
★ MOST ACTIVE MUSE: Kouki, always. Getting into the mood with him is so stupidly easy. Put on any rock music, think about any series, play a video game, whatever- and there's always something that makes me do that Leo pointing meme and think "Hey, that gives me ideas for that white-haired little gremlin!"
★ EXPERIENCE / HOW MANY YEARS: I've honestly lost track lmao. Ballpark estimate is 11-13 years since I started around 2010 to 2013, with my intro to roleplaying being those ancient Quotev quizzes and the chatroom website Chatzy. If I remember correctly, my first actual RP was either in a Sonic chatroom or a Naruto chatroom. And I've never even watched Naruto- I was going on nothing other than the Fandom Wiki. You could even say that my cringe-worthy OC there was the first iteration of Kouki. Only reason I still remember that chat was one of my writing partners died of some terminal illness. Basically drowned in her own blood.
After that, I moved here to Tumblr. It started with Pokemon blogs... then Steven Universe (where I saw them actively out-toxic the MLP fanbase and drive them out of the fanbase)... then I was the sole Soul Calibur roleplayer... then I made a Skyrim OC based on the Kid Dragonborn mod... then I fell back onto Naruto and joined the fanbase here with more cringy OCs... made my other, still on-going Pokemon blog about eight-ish years ago... joined the JJBA fandom, which was and still is the best fandom I ever joined... then I joined the RWBY fandom... then the BNHA fandom... and now we're here!
★ RP PET PEEVES:
I'm gonna cheat a bit and leave two of Bear's peeves, if only because he completely hits the nail on the head. There's just no better way to put it without rehashing things.
Excessive commentary blogging. Before it was just a lot of dash commentary that had me going 'eh'. But in recent years it's gone past that. I've become disenchanted with blogs that become largely commentary for whatever it is they're doing on Discord. All power to those Discord groups doing what they do! But it reaches a point for me that I don't really see them as indie, and it can feel insurmountable trying to interact with them if you're not entangled with their zig-zagging plotlines.
Blog hoppers. Because for a slow burner and long hauler like myself, they're the most impossible people to write with! Which is a shame, because a lot of the hoppers I come across do seem to have some writing talent to them!
Fandom RP events. When I was younger, I used to love the idea of these big events with their own plotlines and moving parts that anyone could participate in if they wanted to. Galas, holiday parties, festivals- stuff like that.
That lasted until 2018, when I kickstarted Bernadotte's original JJBA blog and brought back my long-running Pokemon blog. In the span of something like 5 months, eight separate RP events happened back-to-back in just the JJBA fandom alone. You can only try to participate and be entirely ignored for so long before it sours your whole outlook.
And I mean entirely. I remember writing twelve different starters that people asked for, responding to numerous open threads and starters, liking many different event starter calls, sending asks- the whole shebang. Not even once did I get anything back. If you enjoy fandom RP events, more power to you. But I've been burned too many times to even want to try.
★ PLOTS OR MEMES: Doesn't matter to me! Either way is great! Back in the day, I relied heavily on memes without any ideas for plot, just sending in whatever sounded like something my muse would say. Basically "Oops! All Memes!" Now? I put more thought into things. Overthink things too.
Receiving memes? I almost always ask if there was a reason or an idea driving my partners to send in that specific thing 'cause you never know, y'know? They usually do. But it really doesn't matter to me if they do or don't. I'm just happy to write with y'all.
★ ARE YOU LIKE YOUR MUSE(S)?: There's a little bit of me in every one of my muses! An example off the top of my head? Kouki is based on how I was as a kid his age. Corbin was inspired by my high school years, my love for old books and poetry, and my music tastes. My Pokemon OC was straight-up a self-insert when I started that blog. Tino came from my RWBY days and my absolute love for weaponry.
They've all got fragments of me in 'em!
