Probably better off a personal post, but I figured you'd get a kick out of this:

I want to believe the Founding Families of TVD's past have some intricate stories since they leave behind mysteries that we only see solved in in the 21st century. And I like to make some hidden history:

In TVD 3x17, we learn that Meredith Fell had Samantha Gilbert's journal via her grandmother. Typically we assume they (Founding Families) just took her belongings after her death or at least the Gilbert Family would've. But instead, it was a Fell (whom I called "Marjorie Ann Fell") who had it - or rather, she inherited the diary from her mother ("Margaret Ruth Fell"), Meredith's great-grandmother.

Here's what I think happened: Samantha and Margaret were in love in 1912. Samantha worked as a bookkeeper and Margaret worked as a nurse at an asylum - though her family didn't initially approve. While she worked in the daytime, Samantha was an avid vampire hunter at night and used her family heirloom, The Gilbert Ring, to come back to life. However, when the ring took a toll on her psyche after reviving many times - creating an alter ego and killing members of the council - Samantha kept a diary of her spiral & worried she'd hurt the woman she loved. Her nightmare eventually came to head 10 years later in 1922 when she nearly killed Margaret. Full of remorse, she told her about what she was going through, which helped piece together that she was the killer. Margaret convinced Samantha to reveal the truth about the ring to the council, which was how she ended up in the asylum Margaret worked at and even got assigned as her nurse. Samantha struggled from the negative side effects of the ring with Margaret by her side until one day it became too much. She has a breakdown and cried in tears, professing her love and making her promise to keep her diary safe should anything happen to her. Tearfully understanding Samantha was at her limits, she professed her love back and took her diary. That night, Samantha took the knitting needles used during the day and killed herself via forced lobotomy and died of blood loss. Margaret, as her nurse, was questioned but ultimately quit due to losing the love of her life at 36. Another 10 years later in 1932, she had her daughter, Marjorie Ann (Meredith's grandmother) at 46. She died in the 1960 and left Samantha's diary to her in hopes that if the Gilbert Rings - that was given to Samantha's next of kin despite her disapproval - ever caused the same problems that cost Samantha her life, a Fell would ensure it got to the right person to prevent it from happening again...

As it did in 2010 with Alaric Saltzman.

Now, wouldn't this romance be in Samantha's diary? I would think that, but in typical forbidden romance fashion, I believe Margaret tore out any pages implying their love. Perhaps there would be a time when people like her and Samantha would be accepted, but in the time period they lived, the risk of anyone knowing was too great.

(Heads up, in Legacies S1, the Necromancer summoned a witch to get him the knife he needed. I dated her outfit - she was very likely from the 1910s and I wouldn't be surprised if she manipulated Samantha to kill Zachariah Salvatore. He was probably related to or covered up her death and used Samantha as revenge. Yeah, that's what I'm going with!)

So, what do you think?

Honestly I don't have super strong opinions on this, but I like the idea of Meredith's grandmother being in love with a Gilbert. The way you describe their story is so compelling and giving star crossed lovers. Reminds me of Stelena. I love a good forbidden romance.

As I've played Damon many times in the past, I have conjured up multiple head canons of what he went through as a kid growing up in the Salvatore home that I'll post intermittently.

Damon has spent the better part of his vampire life living it up (and even living it down when he was captured by the Augustine Society) and fulfilling the promise of making his brothers life hell - as well as looking for ways to free Katherine from the tomb.

His initial reason for coming to Mystic Falls is to finally free Katherine from the tomb (that she's not in, unknown to him), it's an added luxury that his brother happens to be here too. Two birds one stone.

There also happens to be this invisible string that has pulled him back to the small town in the form of the Hellmouth.

There's a lot of things that Damon has done that I do not agree with and since this is pre!tvd - I will not be playing him strictly canon. However, this is not me erasing the things he's done (like in the case of Caroline) as that also impacts Caroline's story. This Damon won't make the same mistakes Damon in the future did, if that makes sense.

I'm super excited to get to write Damon in a different way than the show. He is open for any and all kinds of plots!

gray zachariah salvatore is the adopted son of elena and damon and the brother of stefanie, rosalie and jd salvatore. he is named after elena’s father and damon’s nephew zach although there was a time where he was close to being named after his uncle jeremy. Gray was found as a newborn baby and assumed to be biologically related to Elena and Damon (its going to come out.)

as a unknown siphoner, he was able to live a relatively normal life but was brought up to know of the supernatural from a young age - especially with his friends and cousins being supernatural. after a while grayson became hunted by a small group of vampires who had heard the cured humans had started a family and wanted to find out if the offspring's blood was key to curing vampirism. he was missing for almost a week as he had some blood drained, before being found by (to be plotted). however as he was really a siphoner they were unable to find what they wanted.

After this, he was sent to the salvatore school to learn about the supernatural in more depth and in order to hopefully find some insight into his abilities as a (assumed} cured human. as well as this it meant he was more protected from attacks than at mystic falls high school. During his school years, he was often in trouble for his inability to stay still and his short temper along with random outbursts in class or at home and also had trouble sleeping - often waking up and ending up drawing or playing in the middle of the night as a child. It was only when his behaviours became similar at home, that he was noticed and eventually after pushing for so long, Gray received a diagnosis of ADHD. He was soon started on behavioural therapy and medication. Eventually a diagnosis of a sleep disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety was given as he started high school.

During his later years at the salvatore boarding school, he began a friendship with an girl. Despite being a few years older than gray they struck up a connection and after they left school it developed further. Several months of dating led to them discovering they were expecting. After coming arouns to the idea, they were excited for the birth of their child. However it was short lived. During a grueling labour they discovered their child had not made it. They took it hard and it created a wedge between them. (They could either have seperated or she could have died after trying to (or possibly did) bring back their child)

being back in the past is a big adjustment for Gray and without his friends and siblings he knows he would be going crazy right now- with his adhd already in high gear and causing panic attacks.

Jensen Zachariah Salvatore

After the births of her best friend’s daughters Hannah and Aubrey, Elena was struck with baby fever. Being in love with and married to a vampire, she thought she had accepted that children would never be in the cards for them, but the longing was still there. Then Bonnie stepped forward with the same spell that had made Hannah possible.

Nine months later, Jensen Zachariah was born. Jensen being a mix of Jenna Sommer and Grayson Gilbert’s names, and Zachariah being a nod toward Stefan’s late “Uncle” Zach Salvatore.

In high school, Jensen was the quarterback for the Mystic High football team. For awhile, he wanted to go pro but eventually outgrew the idea. Like both his parents, he has a compulsive need to play hero and help other people. Currently he is following in his mother’s footsteps and working toward a medical degree to become a doctor as he hopes to take over the family practice one day.

Being both a Gilbert and a Salvatore, he is aware of the supernatural happenings in the area and shares a close bond with Hannah, Aubrey, and his cousin Shane.

Re-write Season 1

MASTERLIST

Pilot

PART ONE

*this is a first person book*

The alarm clock is what wakes me up in the morning. It's excessive beeping is enough to wake everybody. I quickly slam the snooze button and get up out of bed.

Matt pops his head in, he's already dressed for school. "Sleepyhead hurry up, we're gonna be late" I yawned and waved him off with a hand.

"I'm going" I grumbled as I get up and head to my closet.

My name is Ariel, Ariel Donovan. I live with Matt and Vicky. There the only family I have left.

My mother died on a camping trip. I was there but I don't remember it. The doctors say it was because of the trauma, that my brain shut that memory out.

I don't know if not remembering is a blessing or a curse. The authorities say it was a wild animal attack, apparently I called 911 but I don't remember.

I never met my father, he was never around, abandoned me when I was just a baby.

When my mom died, I was forced to live with her sister, my aunt. And she was forced to take me in. If it wasn't for the law she would have sent me off to an orphanage.

Of course she's never around like she's supposed to be. So I take care of Matt and Vicki. Matt does what he can, and Vicky well... I have tried several times to get her to quit smoking and drugs but to no avail.

I settle on a pair of jeans and a green shirt. I have my fathers hair, and my grandmothers brown eyes.

How do I know that my father has blond hair? That's because my mother didn't have blond hair.

Brown eyes mostly run in the family, well except Matt, he has these blue eyes, he gets that from his dad. Who is god knows where. I have my mother's features though.

And if I look in a mirror, I can try to picture what my father looked like.

When my mom was alive, she never talked about him. I always assumed that it was because of the fact he left her.

But even when she died, I couldn't find my dad's name on my birth certificate, or any other scrap of paper. And whenever I asked Kelly about it, she would never answer.

I quickly pack my bags and hurry out the front door where Matt's waiting in his car.

I have my own car yes, but it was being worked on, after Vicki crashed it. She was drunk.

And the car was brand new, I got it as a birthday gift. So I were pretty upset when she ruined it.

I get in the front seat. "So are you excited" I ask him, my feet shaking with excitement. He only grins, one corner of his mouth lifting higher than the other.

"A bit" The back door slams making me jump in my seat. I shift in my seat to face Vicky, who was staring intently at her phone.

"Hey Vicky"

"Hey" She response back in a dull tone. Knowing she wasn't going to speak anymore than a few syllables, I turn back in my seat.

"Drive"

"Caroline!" I call out to my blonde best friend. She turns at the sound of her name and smiles when she sees it's me. She excuses herself from the person she was speaking to and made her way over to me.

"Hey Ariel" She said with a smile, embracing me in a hug. "Hey care" I said hugging her back. Caroline is one of my best friends. She's been with me through so much. Ex- my mother's death.

"Have you seen Elena or Bonnie?" I asked parting from her to take a look around the yard. She shook her head, her hair bobbing with her movements.

"No I haven't, but I'm sure they're inside"

"Let's go then" I said, she grabbed my hand and dragged me inside the halls of our high-school. Mystic Falls Timberwolfs.

We spot them both at the lockers and before I can even make a move to hug Elena or say hello Caroline beats me to it.

"Elena. Oh my god" she said, rushing up to her and drowning her in one of her hugs.

"How are you?" She asked. "It's so good to see you. How is she? Is she good?" Caroline asked Bonnie like if Elena wasn't standing right in front of her.

"Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine. Thank you" I crossed my arms and sent Elena a secret glare.

"Really?"

"Yes much better" Elena reassured her. "Oh you poor thing" Caroline said, hugging her once more.

"Okay, Caroline" I said grabbing her by the shoulder and pried her off of Elena. "Okay, I'll see you guys later"

"Okay, bye" Elena said as Caroline walked off.

"Hey Elena can I speak to you?" I asked her and motioned to the other side of the hallway. She nodded and I dragged her off to the side.

"Are you okay?" I asked already knowing what she was doing. "Yes Ariel, I'm fine" I shook my head.

"Your not, Elena I used that facade when I was younger and I was never okay" Elena recently lost her parents.

Car accident. And while she might act like she's fine I know she's not. Elena and I have grown closer as friends, because I know what she's going through and it doesn't get easier. Take it from someone who knows.

"Your right. I just don't wanna be the girl who lost her parents you know? I wanna start fresh but that's not gonna happen if I keep being the same old Elena" I nod slightly and hug her.

"Just promise me that you'll come to me when something's bothering you. Okay. I'm here for you" She nods and stares up at me with her chocolate eyes.

"Thanks Ariel" She says with a smile.

"No problem". We go join Bonnie and the three of us walk through the halls, Bonnie in the center and me and Elena at her sides.

We were talking about our summer when Bonnie grabs us both by our arms and makes us jerk to a stop in front of the schools office.

"Hold up, who's this?" She says looking in. Theirs a guy standing there, his back turned to us. He's wearing a dark leather jacket, he's tall.

"All I see is back" I said.

"A hot back" Bonnie adds with a smirk. Elena simply chuckles at us both.

"I'm sensing Seattle, and he plays guitar" Bonnie says, staring at his back like if she can see to his soul.

"You're really going to run this psychic thing into the ground, huh?" Elena asks looking at her best friend.

"Pretty Much" People in the hall make some commotion and Elena turns to see Jeremy (her little brother) go inside the bathroom.

"I'll be right back" She says and goes off to follow him. "Please be hot" Bonnie begs no one making me laugh.

I drone on in class. I'm sitting behind Elena only a few seats away from Matt who stares at her. They used to date and he wants her back, I can tell by the longing stare.

She turns her head slightly to the side to look at the new guy. He's cute, I'll tell you that. He was brown hair and these forest green eyes.

Elena turns her head back when she sees him look back at her. I almost smile. I pull my phone out and text her.

Ariel:

Hawt-e.

Staring @ u.

I see her pull her own phone out and look at it. I can tell she's smiling by the way she sits up.

"Good Afternoon Ariel" Zach says as he opens the door to his home.

"Hey Zach" I said with a smile as I stepped inside. Zach has a huge living space. It's called the Salvatore mansion. He lives alone.

Zach or Zachariah Salvatore is like a father to me. My mother and him were friends, so I always visit him and help him around this huge house.

When my mom died, he became one of my legal guardians.

My aunt Kelly almost filed a law suit to make sure she was the sole guardian.

the only reason she never did that was because Zach wasn't gonna go down easily, plus her lawyer told her that with all the money Zach earns and his living space they might as well give him full custody.

So they treated it like a divorced parents case, I have my own room and everything.

I stayed with him on the weekends, Kelly on weekdays. I haven't stayed over since Kelly started taking off though.

"How was school?" He asks closing the door behind me.

"It was great" I said setting my bag down at the door. "Well I'm glad. Do you want something to drink?" I nod and he rushes off to the kitchen.

I walk deeper inside and see books clattered around the sitting area. With a sigh I pick them up and place them neatly on the table.

"Here you go" Zach says from behind, he holds two cups in his hands. I take one and sip. Tea. Not my favorite but it'll do.

I stay at his place for a while longer, talked about how my day went, the new kid and how his day went. I was there till it was almost noon, then I went to go meet up with Caroline and Bonnie at the grill.

"His name is Stefan Salvatore. He lives with his uncle at the old Salvatore boarding house.

He hasn't lived here since he was a kid. Military family, so they move around a lot. He's a Gemini, and his favorite color is blue"

Caroline declares, spinning circles with her straw in her drink.

"You got all of that in one day?" Bonnie asks in disbelief.

"Salvatore? Huh. Zach didn't tell me he had family visiting" I say confused, moving to sit down at the table.

"Oh please. I got all of that between third and fourth period. We're planning a June wedding" I snicker.

Shocker Caroline's got dibs on the new guy. Stefan Salvatore.

I also wonder why Zach didn't tell me. You'd think that would come up in our conversation from earlier.

"Oh Ariel sweetie, by the way. I have my nephew living with me now."

I frown, wait hold up.

I was at Zach's house last night, how the hell did I miss a 5' or 6' foot person? I store that mental note for later.

Matt takes a seat with me and Bonnie. "How's Elena doing?" He asks.

"Her mom and dad died. How do you think?" I said pursing my lips.

"She's putting on a good face"

"Has she said anything about me?" He wonders.

"Uh no. So not getting in the middle, you pick up the phone and call her"

"I feel weird calling her. She broke up with me"

"Give her time Matt" Bonnie says with a reassuring smile. My eyes trail over to the door where Elena walks in with Stefan right behind her.

I am clearly not the only one who notices cause Caroline and Tyler are staring.

Tyler was one of my friends, he was Matts best bud, when I was younger, I almost always saw him around so we became friends.

He has this tough guy thing going. To me, he's another annoying brother. And for him, I'm like the annoying sister he never had.

Matt gets up and I want to follow but I also kinda wanna see how this plays out.

He goes over to them and introduces himself to Stefan before giving Elena an awkward hello.

Stefan and Elena join all of us at the table but Matt doesn't.

"So you lived in mystic falls?" Caroline asks.

"Mm-hmm. And I moved when I was still young"

"Parents?" Bonnie asks.

"My parents passed away"

"I'm sorry. Any siblings?" Elena asks. Stefan shook his head all while staring at her.

"None that I talk to. I live with my uncle"

"Zachariah" I spoke up making him look at me.

"Yeah. How did you-"

"Zach is kinda like my father. I go over a lot. He didn't mention you to me" Before he can respond Caroline speaks up.

"So Stefan. If your new then you don't know about the party tomorrow. It's a back to school thing at the falls" Stefan looks over at Elena.

"Are you going?"

"Of course she is" Bonnie comments making Elena purse her lips. She pushes a strand of hair behind her ear and looks up at Stefan. "I will"

theodore is new to new orleans, he was dead set on avoid the palces his brothers were going to inhabit, but after becoming a vampire and struggling with his control, he fingure the best people to help him were his brothers.

Are they one of the returned dead, if so how long have they been alive for? Or are they one of the unfrozen, if so how are they handling that the world has moved on without them? Or are they one of the survivors, if so how did they handle the dead returning and now the unfreezing?

theodore returned from the dead three years ago and a year ago become a new vampire.

he doesn’t have enough knowledge of new orleans to have allied with any factions as of yet.

theodore is pretty caring about other - similar to stefan, and had a distaste for vampires as a result of his fatherbeing killed by one - or so he was told. becoming a vampire heightened his sense of caring to others and selflessness but he has started to take care of himself more instead of kill himself try to do everything for others.

Theodore was born to guiseppe salvatore and his maid in the 1863. he was not even one when his father was killed and he was left to bring up the child. he was brought up to think his half brothers had both died, and took up his fathers place on the founder council once he was of age.

at the age of 17 he fell in love with a girl, and they married son after. within a year of marriage, the pair were expecting their only son, zachariah salvatore. he was hoping to have a larger family but by 1884 he became ill with typhoid fever and after several years of illness he died in 1889.

over a hundred and fifty years later, he was returned from the dead for unknown reasons and had to adjust to new life with no one to turn too. he soon found out his half brothers were both alive, but vampires, and refused to contact them.

after a few years of living as a human again, he was turned into a vampire unwillinglyand forced to complete the transistion. It was several months before he accepted his new life, but soon he found himself losing his bloodlust after being so controlled and realised he needed help and that the only people he could trust with this was his brothers.

Elijah was left standing in the pouring rain watching Elena ride off as her Guard brought a horse for her.

The warm, dear look she gave him just before she rode off was still lingering in his mind. His heart drummed happily. She was alive and well, and even though she could not be his, he rejoiced in the fact that she was still in this world.

Eventually went into the house, strangely feeling at ease.

"Better to have loved and lost than never lived at all." words of his brother Klaus shot in now.

He went to his room, and after he had changed, he sat down writing several letters out to his siblings, as well as his Army friends.

As he finished he called his steward, finally explaining his sudden visit.

"I will need a steward for the Heathfield house, as I wish to turn it into a retreat for the wounded. Find someone suitable."

"Yes, Sir."

"I hope to have my brother arrive within days, so I will be in need of more staff. Maybe my sister will join him as well." Elijah said.

"Very good, Sir." the steward said. Though Elijah spoke in a very polite manner, there was a hint of a grim expression on his face. It was more than obvious that the unusual visit of the woman had affected him greatly. He wished he could in some way help his Master, but he would never dare address it, even though he was so much older than him.

Elijah now stood up. "Also, can you find out where Lady Lockwood is staying. I wish to invite her Ladyship and her husband for dinner."

"Of course, Sir. Will that be all?”

"Yes.Thank you, Ansel."

As the steward left, Elijah fell back in his thoughts evoking the sudden meeting with Elena earlier that afternoon.

In the village Inn, as Elena settled in her room, her heart, her mind, all of her being felt like it was rattling like the storm outside her window.

She wished to run back to the house and tell him that she loved him, that she had not stopped thinking of him, that she was taking back all the harsh words she had told him on that fateful day he had proposed to her. But then she glanced at her hands that were terribly scared, same as her body. How could he now want to be with her? She could not give him anything, no family, no heir. Nothing.

She now wrote a note and got dressed. Taking only the essentials, she took off that very night. To Mystic Falls.

The next day as Elijah's steward returned with the reply from the Lockwoods, he read the following-

Dear Sir,

We thank you for your kind invitation, but unfortunately, we have to decline, as we have discovered this morning that the Dowager Countess Elena Lockwood, has left very early in the morning for Mystic Falls. We are about to leave ourselves.

With kind regards,

Count Tyler Lockwood

"Dowager," Elijah now uttered, a small smile curled up on his lips, exhaling deeply, "You are a widow."

He folded the letter. His heart was restless. He wanted to go after her, but his mind was telling him that it would be completely out of place if he now went after her. He didn't know what her situation really was. Was she still grieving? Maybe that man was her all? He ran up and down the room, not knowing what to do. And so he went on about his business. One thing that kept his soul hopeful that he would see her again, was her friend Bonnie, who now lived in New Orleans.

He was not mistaken, as his letter to his family of his meeting with Elena, made all the siblings travel, together with Bonnie to their most northern Estate.

Upon their arrival, Elijah had to divulge the news that Elena had left the area. Bonnie didn't wait a second and she and Kol made their way to the witch's hometown.

“I think you should go. You must tell her how you feel.” Kol said to Elijah.

“It would be so out of place.” Elijah said nervously playing with his fingers.

“You have waited for so long to find out something- and now that you know that she is well, and - a widow - you should go and be- close to her.” Klaus now said.

Elijah sighed, his whole being feeling wretched and at the same time all fuzzy and tingly inside.

“We are travelling to Mystic Falls, at break of dawn”- Bonnie now spoke.

“We are”- Kol said- “ and you should come with us, brother.”

“I will travel with you”- Elijah said now resolved.

“Yes!”- Rebekah cheered, now tears welling up in her eyes-”finally there will be more than one happy ending.”

“It does not mean I would win her affections- yet.”- Elijah said.

“But you will, brother. I am sure of it”- Rebekah said now wiping her tears off-”I am cheering for you.”

“We all are.”- Klaus now said.

“Thank you so much.”- Elijah said.

The morning after, Elijah was called to his Regiment, and Kol, together with Bonnie, set out for Mystic Falls. And after travelling for a long day and night, they arrived at the vampire stronghold.

As they settled in the house Elijah had procured ever since they took the town back from the hybrids, the witch and her fiance found Elena, who was staying in the Boarding House, a house owned by her friend's cousin. The meeting between the witch and the huntress was profoundly touching.

It seemed like the women would never let go of one another if it wasn't for Kol Mikaelson.

"Now, everything will be right in this world."

This now made them move out of the hug, Elena greeted the young Count. Then looked at Bonnie with a question mark in her eyes.

"We are engaged to be married." Bonnie now showed her friend the engagement ring on her finger. "A lot has happened since you've disappeared."

"I see." Elena said, tearing up a bit. She then congratulated them both saying wholeheartedly. "I am so very happy for you."

"Thank you so much. If it wasn't for you, boldly reproaching my brother, I would not be the happiest man alive." Kol said looking dearly at his wife to be.

"I am glad that my boldness served well."- Elena said with a broad smile

"Yes. Well, I will you now. I believe you have much to discuss."- Kol said making a little bow with his head and looked at Bonnie conveying this - put a good word in for my brother. He then left.

The women sat down, and Elena's long tale of all that she went through commenced.

"... after the marriage ceremony was done, Mason was found out and killed. I was captured again, but his cousin Tyler rescued me, taking me away to their ancient home in Virginia. I stayed there fighting until we pushed them all the way out. When we found a safe passage to return here, we made our way back."

"Oh my Goodness, Elena. You have been through Hell."- Bonnie said.

"I am home now, and everything will be fine, especially when I see and put my arms around Jeremy."- Elena said.

"Have you sent word that you have returned safe and sound?"

"I have. I have also spoken to his commanding officer. They have sent for him."- Elena said.

"He will be so thrilled to see you. You know, he has never left hope that you were alive, same as Elijah. They have befriended one another, well, they became more than friends, after Elijah saved Jeremy's life in the battle of Mystic Falls."- Bonnie said.

"What are you saying?"- Elena looked at her friend astonished at this revelation.

"Oh, Elena- where do I begin"- Bonnie said and then told Elena about Elijah apologizing to her for having meddled into his brother's affairs, especially regarding Kol's intentions to propose marriage to her. And then all about Elijah's desperate search for her.

"After he had heard that you were killed, he committed his life to fighting against the hybrids to honour you. That is what he wrote to Kol in a letter once. He has not stopped loving you." Bonnie said.

Elena's heart leapt up with gladness. Everything inside her was moved, and she now tried to fight the sweet tears from bursting out.

"I know that it is not my place to suggest anything. But you said once that if he was not so proud and conceited, you might have feelings for him." the witch said.

"Even if it was so, I cannot be with him."

"Why, Elena? You are now widowed for more than a year. And you said that it was not a real marriage. Why would it stop you from being with Elijah?"

"This." Elena now showed her friend part of her scared body, telling her also that she could not have any children.

"Oh, Elena, I am so sorry." Bonnie said and now hugged her friend.

"It is - all right. I made peace with it." Elena said. "I have sufficient funds. The Lockwoods have been so very good to me. I am going to teach young hunters and huntresses, and if Jeremy agrees, I will buy a house, and if he marries one day, and has children, I will be a happy aunt."

The women spoke a little more, about Kol and Bonnie's upcoming wedding.

That night, as Bonnie returned to the Mikaelson house, she told her fiance about what Elena went through.

"Oh my dear Lord" Kol said. "She is a very brave woman."

"And she is still in such high spirits. Someone else in her position would have given up on life altogether." the witch said.

"Indeed."- Kol said and kissing the hand of his beloved witch, he then went to retire.

As he got to his room, he took a paper out and started writing a letter to his brother.

"My dearest brother,

He stopped, putting the pen down. For a moment there, he wrestled with his conscious asking himself if it was correct to divulge something so intimate about Elena's state.

"I hope you will forgive me-"- he muttered-"but this is for a good cause"

and continued writing the letter.

A few days later

The letter had the exact desired effect Kol knew would bring.

As Elijah read it, he did not wait a minute and left for Mystic Falls. As he arrived, he went straight to the Boarding House.

"May I speak to Lady Lockwood?"- Elijah said as Zachariah Salvatore opened the doors.

"Certainly, Count Mikaelson, but her Ladyship went out with her brother. If you wish to wait, she said that she would be home by teatime.” the vampire gestured to Elijah to come in.

"Thank you, Mr Salvatore." Elijah said entering.

Zacharia showed the vampire to the Salon, keeping him company until the maid came in requesting his help.

"If you would excuse me" Zacharia said to Elijah.

"Yes. Please, do not mind me. I will be perfectly all right."- the vampire said. As Zacharia left the room, Elijah stood up, walking to the fireplace.

The vampire watched the fire dance in front of him so bright and so high, reflecting his feelings that were burning in his veins with the same intensity, as they did the day he had come to the Salvatore house in the District Garden of New Orleans, asking her hand in marriage. Now, his feelings were running much deeper than they ever had done before. He teared up as he remembered the part of the letter, in which he disclosed Elena suffering torture. He wished he could have traded places with her.

"... and despite all, her eyes shone with a spark as your name was mentioned. Bonnie is sure that she still has feelings for you. Yes, brother, she has expressed having them after your first meeting back then at the Ball, and that she would have considered you"

Elijah's thoughts cut as he now heard Elena enter the house, and the maid telling her that she had a visitor waiting for her in the Salon.

All of his being shuddered as she entered the room saying as a mode of greeting -

"Count Mikaelson"

Composing himself, Elijah bowed a little with his head saying-

"Please forgive me for have come announced."

Evidently taken by his presence, Elena gulped, but tried hard not to show she was stirred up like never before. She shook her head slightly as to say you needn't apologize.

Taking a mental breath she looked aside and then at him again uttering-

"I am glad that you have called in. I was meaning to write to you, to thank you"

"Thank me?" Elijah uttered interupting her. " What for?"

"For saving my brother's life. For sheltering him. He has told me how good you have been."- Elena said.

"Please Lady Gil- forgive me - Lady Lockwood, I can't seem to -"

"It is quite all right. I would rather if everybody just called me Elena. You know that a title is of no consequence to me."

Elijah nodded in understanding.

Elena then continued-

"As a thank you, Jeremy and I wish to invite you as our special guest at the dinner we will be hosting for the new hunters."

"It will be my pleasure and a great honour." Elijah then stopped, looking at her with half anguish and half hope."Oh, Elena, you are too generous to trifle with me- please - I - " the vampire could not but bring out all that was whirrling inside of him. "I know all that befell you, and - please do not be angry at my brother and your friend for disclosing such intimate details, but - I - I wish I could take all that pain away. Please let me"

"Count Miikaelson, please- I - cannot -"

Stepping forward, Elijah now poured his heart out."Elena- you have bewitched me, body and soul, and -" he gupled a bit uttering with deep affection in his voice- tears now escaping his eyes-

"I love you - I love you. I do not wish to be parted from you from this day on."

Elena, overwhelmed with her feelings could not hold her tears at bay anymore. She looked at the vampire with sweet daze in her eyes, telling him that her feelings towards him have indeed changed, and now said with great warmth-

"I love you"

Repeating again."I love you-so much!"

"My darling" Elijah uttered still in a slight state of shock now brushing her cheek with the fingers lightly the tear of her face. "Will you do me the great honour of taking me as your husband?"

"Yes, I will" Elena replied with a smile stretching on her face.

"Yes?" the vampire muttered in disbelief.

"Yes!!" the huntress confirmed it, making the vampire now pull her into a fervent, long awaited deep kiss.
