Glad that his temporary outfit would soon be gone and replaced by something more socially acceptable, Zach gave her a single nod and headed to the other room, while Emily went to the kitchen.
He couldn't know that, but they both appreciated a little break to compose themselves. Thinking how bizarre the situation was, Zach pulled some pants onto his butt and, fighting the t-shirt that kept ending up backward like a damn USB stick that never fit the slot, made a mental note: never leave his clothes in a different room. All he could think of now was a different scenario, with Emily replaced by an armed housebreaker and Zach forced to run down the street butt-naked. Which, truthfully, would have been a tad worse.
"We've met through my colleague," he explained and sighed triumphantly when he finally saw a cute Neko Mancer print on his chest, which meant that was the t-shirt's front and he won that battle. "It's a long story but I wouldn't be surprised if she never mentioned me. I'm here because she kept saying she was looking for someone to look after the house, and I complained I needed a quiet place to work." Fully clothed and grateful the universe hadn't chosen to test him by throwing random delinquents at him, he joined Emily in the kitchen for a coffee. "I thought she was joking she'd call me but, apparently, she wasn't. And I still wanted to finish my project in peace." Having nearly met his daily word count with that answer, Zach thanked her for the coffee as he leaned against the counter.
"Coffee sounds great," she agreed. "I'll just..." she motioned toward the kitchen with a slight uptick of her smirk before heading that way.
She pushed out a breath as she walked, glad to have the moment alone. What the fuck was that? She was never like this. Stumbling over her words in the presence of the opposite sex. That only happened when fear overtook her. That or nervousness disguising itself as excitement when she, or her brother, pushed her out of her comfort zone. Which wasn't rare, but it also wasn't ever over meeting an attractive man. Of course she'd never come to an assumed empty home to find said man naked in the tub either.
"Get it together Emily," she told herself as she walked, shaking out her nerves through the short trek.
She found the bagels mentioned and started digging through Ava's fridge to grab her preferred toppings, grabbing two coffee mugs afterward from the cabinets. She poured the cups as she ate. "So how do you know Ava?" she called out through her bites, letting her first sip of coffee warm her through and relishing in the comfort.

The Technomancer
Sigh. Been replaying Final Fantasy XV and hearing Prompto’s voice actor (Robbie Daymond) I felt the urge to revisit The Technomancer. I just can’t get enough of Zachariah and Andrew!

So, Zach is a weary, rogue mancer who doesn't trust easily, worries about his master, Sean. And needs a good nights sleep.

I have to reblog this again.
Their romance was so sweet, probably the best part of the game for me. And the fact that the achievement for completing this love story is called “soulmate” just makes it even better tbh.

I had to rifle through my memory drawers but Andrew Mancer? :3c
Ahhh thank you so much!!! I know it’s not your fandom but I’m so happy you asked!!!
First impression
“Okay, I feel like this ‘Lucky’ guy’s gonna come back to haunt me later--his hair is way too intricate for a quest-giver...”
Impression now
"Not to be dramatic or anything but I’d fucking die for him--would you like to see my 10,000 screenshots of his beautiful face?”
Favorite moment
Oh goodness where do I begin...
Okay from the first moment you meet him he’s amazing--he is talking at Zachariah so fast, and in retrospect you can tell he was doing that bc he was probably anxious about having this conversation at all, or about getting caught in a lie. And yet still he puts that +1 Charisma merchant face on, and does a damn good job--I never even suspected he had other reasons to talk to Master Connor. I love him!!!
He’s so adorably nervous about his prosthetic--he wants to be in private to put it on for the first time, and he even admits to Niesha that he’s equally scared that it won’t work and that it will! I just... I love that vulnerability
Also love that the first fuckin’ thing he does with that new arm is prank Zachariah with it!!!!
and of course, how could we forget, “And I don’t wanna say something that’s gonna--y’know, whatever, but...” (It’s not gonna ‘whatever’ him, Andrew... he feels the same way...)
Unpopular opinion
...Actually I don’t think I have one, Andrew is pretty universally loved, and most headcanons fly pretty smooth ‘round these parts. So this isn’t so much an unpopular opinion as one I don’t hear many ppl talk about, and it is that I’m so glad Spiders was willing to let him join the party before the quest where we help build him a prosthetic. It’s just cool af!
Favorite relationship
Okay, first off, I really really love his friendship with Niesha! They are so supportive of each other!! They knew each other before you knew either of them and you can tell, from the way they talk about each other you really get the sense that they care about each other so much and want each other to be happy.
And of course, of course... his romance with Zach. I mean, okay, setting aside the fact that the achievement for romancing him is literally called “Soulmate,” just think about the childhood friends to strangers to friends to lovers!! Them knowing and admiring each other in their youth, and finding acceptance and love in each other after all that time! Zach bringing Andrew back to his people, and Andrew finding the peace of technomancy again!!! Becoming masters together and taking on apprentices, so no one has to go through what Andrew did ever again!!! They just... they support each other so much... and love each other unconditionally... I love them...
Favorite headcanon
Somebody, somewhere on this website, had the headcanon that the rogue technomancer who taught Andrew to control his gift was Roy, and I would like to find that person and shake their hand because that’s a good fucking headcanon! Also, Niesha does his hair, and in exchange he touches up the parts of her hair that she can’t reach--no I am not taking criticism.

The Technomancer #02 : stop the deserters / stopper les déserteurs (lore, movie) If you enjoyed Greedfall I would recommend their previous rpg game I just tested The Technomancer. It’s a sci-fi cyberpunk game on planet Mars. Keep in mind that Spiders studio make good games but with small budget/team and so it also has these flaws. I'm currently halfway through the game and the story is pretty good. We play Zachariah a technomancer officer in the army of Abundance, a faction of the settlers of this planet that is at war with others factions. The atmosphere is dark and there are a lot of moral choices, often not easy if you want to play a nice character :D My moral code in RPG is often the following: I don’t like the traitors, I kill the "real traitors", who are of their own will/for opportunism and I can forgive the traitors who are themselves victims. I kill the “rotten ones”, those for whom I feel that there is nothing more to do for them. Captain Eliza Major asks Zachariah and his unit to find deserters from the army (0:00) David and Jeffrey Zach's new teammates give their opinion about the deserters and the mission (2:02). Deserters and sergeant Boris are arrested (3:24) Report of the mission to Eliza Major (5:08) Discussion with Eliza about Boris (5:58), David (6:21), Jeffrey (6:39), the great master of Technomancer Ian (6:53), technomancers (7:08), Alan Mancer (7:37). Meeting Intendant Ryan Steward (7:52). Discussion with David about the army (8:15), technomancers (8:54), the front (9:51), the barracks (10:33), Colonel Viktor Watcher (10:49), ASC (11:09) Discussion with Jeffrey about technomancers (11:28), Eliza Major (12:13), Colonel Viktor Watcher (12:51). Discussion avec David à propos de l'armée (8:15), des technomancers (8:54), du front (9:51), de la caserne (10:33), du colonel Viktor Watcher (10:49), de l'ASC (11:09). Discussion avec Jeffrey à propos des technomancers (11:28), d'Eliza Major (12:13), du colonel Viktor Watcher (12:51).

MWL impressions
tl;dr - I had a blast, there's so much content in this game
Longer version - I think I understand now why I couldn’t “connect” with Roy on my first playthrough; he really is unique among other RPG protags. You see, when we (as the players) met him, he doesn’t need our help - he knows about this world more than we do, he already has a plan and knows what he needs to do to accomplish it. In the Camp Roy is in his own element, leading the way, and we are Innocence, waiting for his command. Such independent protag is more likely to be found in an action game, where we don’t get to decide anything; I confess that at first, it was irritating to me, as I took Roy as a typical Action Game Protagonist, overconfident, over-competent, cynical, praised at every step for the very fact that he’s a Male Action Hero. You know, “Look out, we have a badass over here“ type of character. (He's not, but I only realized this later.) That trend changed a bit in chapter 2 - in Shadowlair Roy is still in control, he knows people, he knows how to get things done, even if he needs help for it; but his work with Charity is like a mutual agreement, not usual RPG-y "now I order you to go there and do that". Up till this point, nobody commands Roy. It's unique. RPG protags, even the outsider type like Geralt, are constantly being told what to do, either by the authorities or by their friends; Roy just knows what to do. Until Innocence is in danger. In Act 3 Roy is suddenly out of his depth, mixed in politics and espionage and forced to carry out orders of the people he doesn't really trust or believe - either to save the boy or to atone, I think, for the fact that he didn't. Both sides are using Roy like a common henchman and it is... sad. Even more, as freedom seems to be at the core of Roy's character. The second thing I didn't notice till now - MWL is a western. Mixed with some postapo and political thriller, sure, and closer to Sergio Leone's, but western nonetheless, with all the iconic motives of man vs. nature, revenge plot, trains (we have 2 instances of assault on train!), outlaws and bounty hunters, shady bars, Charity - the prostitute with a heart of gold, natives... and at the fringe of the society, refusing the "traditional" (corrupt) morality, bound only by his own code of honor, there is Roy, the wandering gunslinger. Not a hero. Not a hired gun. Someone with a dark past (duh), seeing atonement, distant but just, in his own way. Hell, even the colour palette is western-like. And, as it should be, there's no happy ending here - only the bitter-sweet one, the "you fixed as much as you could, but the world is still broken, people are still awful and there's nothing you can do". So fitting. Also, Roy has trouble pretending that he's not a mancer - maybe he's not trying too hard, as most people are probably just looking at his clothes and assumes that no mancer would ever dress like that. But he has a trouble to blend in - he's far too eloquent, and people around him notice that. Innocence did, Mary did, even Sean mocked the "colonial facilities". And it's interesting, as it seems that every time Roy is around other mancer, he's code-switching - as a habit? Or he's missing conversations with all that difficult words? (The fact is highlighted by, Shadow help me, cringe-worthy writing or other prisoners and common folk, who are depicted as idiots.) Or, and I think it's the most correct interpretation, this kind of verbal showing off is just something the mancers do - as we see with Patience in Tech, also identified by his speech pattern, or even with Zach "unfortunately this is beyond my skill level" Mancer. Working with technomancer must be a torture.
Serving beside a mancer must be also a torture, as fighting beside one seems to be only slightly better than against one. The friendly fire in MWL is brutal. Bringing Mary with me to any fight involving enemy mancer turns it into a clusterfuck of mancers zapping everyone around.
Further, it needs to be said so we can get this over with - writing of *all* female characters in the game is awful and deeply Problematic. I understand the (sometimes juvenile) gritty realism the writers were going for but were it really needed that Every One woman in the game, apart from 2 potential love interests, have some background related to sexual violence? Seriously. I counted. FFS.
Also, Aurora seems really misogynic. I mean, no women in a position of power, only one female technomancer we know is treated as a trophy and/or dismissed as crazy, only one female resistance member is constantly patronized by every male around. No women in either army or gangs. No female merchant even. Ugh.
Also, Roy seems to be lowkey patriotic? Seems fair, as there must have been a reason for him to enlist. That's it for now; I'll probably ramble more in the future. This game is so dense with meanings that I probably forgot a half of things I wanted to write about.
