About a month later than I'd have liked, but here they are! Even if its writing is a bit more messy than usual, its core is very solid. Of course, Chougi's live song more than got away with me (it's got Japanese Sign Language), so if you could, please watch it gently.

sometimes i remember the discrepancy between the kanji for love used in ao no sumika versus akari and want to die. i've talked at length about the linguistic nuances specifically of ao no sumika but 静かな恋 (quiet love | shizukana koi) fits so well considering the fact that the song is sung from gojo's perspective about their 青い春 (blue spring), elaborated upon below. this is as opposed to 揺れる愛 (wavering/shaky love | yureru ai) which is used in akari, sung from geto's perspective similarly about his regrets about their relationship and his path.

satosugu are so heavily yet subtly implied that even the different words for love that were used masterfully allude to their relationship dynamic. koi is always explicitly romantic and generally has a youthful connotation, the word you use to describe an intense yet fleeting highschool love affair during your blue spring which is simultaneously selfish, associated with being on the receiving end of love. it makes sense for the rich, invincible, immature highschooler gojo to use it in contrast with geto's ai, which is used in akari, a term widely regarded as encompassing the entire concept of love and a love that goes beyond romance, revolving around giving unconditional love instead. when we put it in perspective that this song was sung from geto's point of view the lyricism becomes truly genius because we can deduce so many things just from the specific word that was used– the differences in their emotional maturity, how deeply suguru loved satoru, the way he gave a boy who already had everything his everything until there was nothing left to give.

i fucking love that they chose to frame the openings and endings as stsg's pseudo-letters to each other. every facet of satosugu's relationship is so sickeningly romantic.

Some highlights: Kibō my beloved 😍, the entire anime block was to die for! I loved every second of it! Non-stop tears😭 snow falling was such a treat. It’s a favourite of mine and Wakana’s cover is honestly amazing!!! When she started talking about the upcoming Kalafina Live I got so emotional. Everyone is so excited and they can’t wait for is to hear their harmony again. Hopefully they will sing snow falling in January 🙏🙏🙏Never heard that Kelly Clarkson song before but Wakana slayed! Overall it was such a good live with so many great performances. A few forgotten lyrics but that’s almost part of Wakana’s charm by now😅Her reaction is always so cute (I do feel bad for her though because it obviously bothers her).

The little talk with her cellist Masateru (Teru) Nishikata was super fun. For those of you who don’t know, he played the cello for Kalafina many times so they know each other well. This was the first time he joined one of Wakana‘s solo events. He was moved to tears and also beyond excited for the Kalafina reunion live. He mentioned regretting the sudden disbandment because they never got the chance to do a proper goodbye. Wakana is relieved about this reunion (even though it is also very sudden). Wonder if that means Teru will be one of the band members…?

Random side note: Poor girl was killed by her high heels today so she had to return to the stage with bare feet.

I hate myself for being shy during the send-off. Wish I would’ve been able to say something like last time🫣This time I was just too nervous and staff members were rushing me☠️ I think she recognised me though and wished me a safe journey back home.

Before the concert, I did some Wakana activities. First I had lunch at MinMin, a small 🥟gyoza🥟 restaurant. Then I went to see the exhibition at Ginza Art Aquarium. Such great experiences❣️

Of course I got all the merch. Wakana is so cute in the pamphlet photos💕💕What an adorable hairstyle! Also got a lot of snacks from fellow fans🤗
