You know what? Cold Front character headcannons!

I’m bored, and these two idiots live rent free in my head. So here are just some of my personal headcannons (do know that I have adopted a decent amount of these from fics 👍)!

Augustine:

In college, would get into wood carving as a hobby.

While waiting to get accepted into a different college, Augustine would work as a hockey coach/teacher for little kids in his hometown.

Actually a pretty good cook, not the best baker though (he helped his mom with cooking a lot as a kid).

When he was finally old enough to drink coffee, he immediately ordered a black coffee since it was “more mature”. However he despised it so now he always either discreetly adds a decent amount of milk/sugar or if no one is with him he’ll order a Mocha.

Has a single mom.

Likes corny movies, shows and stories a lot.

Has ADHD.

Is constantly at least a little tired.

Listens to Elton John

Winnie:

In college, he would switch from hockey to figure skating, however he now treats sports a bit more like a hobby.

He hates people touching his hair, there are VERY few exceptions. He works hard on it!

Good at baking, not the best at cooking.

Doesn’t like wearing gloves, he finds them itchy.

He’s the type of person who remembers everything about a person as long as he’s relatively close with them. He’ll remember something you like something even if you only brought it up once in passing.

He CAN drive well, as long as no one else is in the car. If someone else is there (or at least in the passenger seat) he will always feel the need to make eye contact with them while talking, which means his eyes are often not on the road. Even if the other person purposely doesn’t talk, Winnie will either start a conversation himself or get distracted by the presence anyway.

A space nerd, he also just enjoys looking at the stars.

He’s autistic (I’m putting this here since it’s only kinda confirmed)

Likes blueberry muffins.

Doesn’t swear much, but isn’t necessarily against it. However he will sometimes jokingly “scold” his friends for swearing.

Let go of the racial comments dressed as jokes, let go of the racial bias, let go of how they doubted and still doubt him.

Let go of the abuse, let go of how different he's been treated.

He is the one who needs to let go of what happened in 21' and move on.

A huge part of why his fan base is as closed in on itself is because they are 24/7 trying to validate his place in a sport where he's not allowed to feel and be human without backlash.

His story in f1 is a cycle of: when he's snappy he should be more level headed, when he answers on track it's mind games, when he talks he should take it on the chin, when he keeps quiet it's all pr agenda.

So yeah, Newey, we get you'd deal with what happened differently, but you weren't in that car. You didn't go through what he did. He doesn't need to let it go like you'd have supposedly done so.

Here's the thing, you ARE enough ml. Though you may not think it you honestly are. Ppl are just a bunch of asses that don't shut up but please, please, please don't let that bring you down. You are smart. You are good enough. You are enough. And honestly PLEASE don't be sorry for venting. I eat too much I talk too much I think too much I shouldn't be here I don't even know why they thought it would be fine for me to skip a grade no one there likes me they think I'm annoying and I don't have the fucking common sense to stfu and just leave them alone. Why the fuck do I keep bothering them they're so much smarter and so much more capable I'm a fucking idiot what were they thinking when they decided that apparently I'M the smartest person in my grade in the whole district? Looking at Kenny's bedroom makes me wonder if he's simply a disorganized boy and won't listen to his mom or it could be bc that while for some boys in south park their mothers make their bed (e.g. Cartman) and for others they're told to do that themselves (e.g. Kyle) so at least there's the pressure of their moms to make their bed, but since Kenny parents are not around to be actual parents then Kenny was left alone to do these chores and since he's disorganized (or low self steem-) he won't mind his bedroom being a mess. And I say disorganized and not irresponsible because if we follow this logic he'd do other chores by himself AND for Karen. I like this second version more because iirc Carol does consider Kenny to be a good son and they don't really have a beef going on, really shown when he gets his own bedroom and is free to do wtw he wants probably (this lenient attitude is more shown in early seasons when Karen didn't exist but I think it still applies till now) so why would he refuse to make his bed and cleaning his bedroom?

Another detail I'd like to point out is that if we follow the logic that Kenny does most of the chores then it could be possible that he actually is who cleans Karen's bedroom (just look, is definitely cleaner than any place in the house), only a hc bc it could perfectly be Kevin or Karen herself who does this but think about it

We really don't know a lot about Kevin, only that he has beef with Stuart and they fight often, he's not seen around the McCormick's household so it could be kinda implied he doesn't spend a lot of time in his home, avoiding it altogether crashing at his friends place. Maybe.

About Karen c'mon, first, she's a small child so is less likely she already learned how to do chores (i mean is at her age when you learn) and the idea of Kenny ignoring his own bedroom but diligently cleaning Karen's bedroom so she can have the best version of her place is more Kenny like

The bedroom is still kinda disorganized but it would be bc since Kenny is already a messy boy, even if he cleans he wouldn't ace at this but is clean enough for Karen to be at a safe space I think. It's even cleaner in the next pic

AS WELL!! I watched the Melbourne grand prix last night, it’s the first race I’ve ever watched and honestly? I’m so happy my first race was a non redbull win! It was so so cool, and the ferrari team all singing the italian anthem together at the end? like driving me insane this sport is so gorgeous guys. i just love it so much. also go aston martin, really sucks about the fernando penalty but did kinda look like he was breaking early. george russell crash 😭 the panic in his voice over the radio calling for a red flag? so so heartbreaking, i was so scared for him. i’m really proud of haas for getting two cars in the points, slay for yuki for getting points, shame for williams after all they’re shit about taking logan out of the car just to not get points, and then more horrid pit stops for stake/kick/sauber whatever they’re called! and alpine, driving their tractors.

In all seriousness, I am getting so bored of the pretty, feminine boys getting knocked up (with a few exceptions like Judeau from Berserk or Kenshin Himura from Ruronshi Kenshin for example)

The worst offender is when the uke is underaged and the seme is an adult, and the uke gets knocked up 🤮)

Also if the uke looks and acts too much like a female, it almost kinda ruins the purpose of boy love, and it looks more like a standard hetro romance novel than a yaoi one, just my opinion. We all have different tastes.

I do not mind senstive, innocent boys as a whole, but it's almost as if they have one role in the yaoi community "Be the submissive, cute, passive" wife that takes crap from their abusive husbands. That is where I draw a line, and that just feels wrong to me.

I do not mind the submissive, feminine mother trope, but I also really love the strong, sexy, no-nonsense mother trope the most.

Mothers are stronger than you think, (Hell, they gave birth, and giving birth is 10 times worse than getting kicked in the balls) and I think that needs to be represented more in the yaoi/mpreg community.

Like if a male character you like gets pregnant, at least mix it up a bit.

I prefer a male character getting pregnant that doesn't take any nonsense from their hubbies (in fact the hubbies are more respectful, loving, romantic, and submissive than their badass mpreg uke ^^) and said badass male character getting pregnant, starts off hating the idea of being pregnant.... then slowly but surely (slow burn process) warms up to the idea of having a baby of their own, and are willing (either out of obligation or out of love) to give birth to their children, and have a soft side to them.

Plus it wouldn't hurt to see a sexy bara character, or the sexy bad boy character to have the role of a sexy mama.

mafuyu felt lonely because he thought yuki, hiiragi and shizu were a trio due to their band.

but shizu felt lonely because he thought yuki, hiiragi and mafuyu were a trio because they got along better (and because he arrived a bit later in the group)

then if hiiragi started to feel lonely only after yuki's death, i come to the conclusion that hiiragi and yuki were the best besties best friends in the world and that makes things even more tragic regarding their relationship.

that explains why hiiragi is so confused about mafuyu and shizu's feeling of loneliness coming before all that.

that also explains why hiiragi feels so guilty after mafuyu cut them off, and after shizu told him he felt left alone all this time. hiiragi realises he's acted like an egoist along with yuki and didn't pay attention enough to mafuyu and shizu, even though he cared very much about them.

he also realises that his world revolved around yuki and he didn't see earlier that the two other's worlds did not. all what mafuyu and shizu ever wanted is to hang out as friends, as a quartet, and not only spend time with the one they love(d). they wanted to have the quartet back to what it seemed like when they were little, or to build a real one, but hiiragi kept that from happening because of his precious attachment to yuki.

after he understands his mistake, hiiragi softens to mafuyu and shizu and tries to make it up to them, by almost clinging onto them all the time to make sure that he'll never repeat the same fault. he doesn't want them to ever feel lonely again.

I imagine all the protags being friends tbh, like all of them, give me two and i can make a way i can see them interacting, but i really think Makoto and Yu would get along so so well, same with Kotone and Akira

Give them some time and they'll be some of the closest friends you'll see. Really helps that four of them made it their mission to befriend at least 19 people in a year. Naoya, Tatsuya, and Maya never stood a chance against their combined Max Charm. Naoya got that next-door, cheeky, pretty boy aura going on for him. He clicked with Akira right away, though surprisingly he found himself playing the straight man in Akira's jokes.

Naoya saw Yu taking charge once (1) and happily delegated all the leader duties to him. Minato followed suit. Yu offered the leadership duties to Maya (because oldest in the group should know best, right?) but she said "No, thank you :)". Yu glanced at Tatsuya, who just shook his head. Akira made a playful grab for the leadership position, but Yu believed he was joking and took it back (they didn't trust each other yet). Kotone ended up leading and ran everyone ragged. Naoya is scared. Maya is dead again. Tatsuya is reevaluating his initial impression of the little girl with the red bow. Minato seems barely phased, but if looks could kill... Yu and Akira are mentally taking notes for their respective teams.

Kotone and Akira are the type of people Tatsuya would be attracted to (Platonic! I mean, romantically too if you want to). They're the most vocal about their ideals and beliefs. If Naoya, Minato and Yu opened up more to talk about more personal stuff, he would like them as well.

Maya thinks they're all cute. Especially Minato. The kind to cover him with a blanket whenever he falls asleep. Akira is also on permanent coffee duty for Maya now. Yu discovered he had Mommy IssuesTM when Maya began to look after him. Aside from those uncovered feelings that he still needs to process, Yu found himself connecting the best with Minato and Akira. They relate to each other and don't find the occasional long silences nor the unprompted strange commentaries as offputting as other people. Those three are in the same wavelength, with Kotone occasionally joining them.

If someone asked Kotone, she would say Yu is her favorite because he feeds her. But honestly? Its Minato. They just get each other. True, that might lead to some frustrated arguments you can only have with someone who's too much like you, but its good to do or say something without having to explain herself. Minato thinks Maya, Kotone and Akira are a bit too much sometimes (where do they get all that energy from?), but he really likes them. Good luck making him admit it, tho.

Now that I think about it, Akira might be the most charismatic of the group. Huh.

(CONTAINS MANGA SPOILERS AS A LOT OF CHOSO AND YUKI SCENES ARENT ANIMATED YET. ) i’ve already covered many other things about choso in my previous essays. in this one i want to start off by talking about his relationship with tsukumo yuki. i’ve mentioned there relationship before but i want to get in depth with it. choso and yuki first meet in shibuya towards the end of the incident when choso switches teams. there’s a bit more but it’s been a while sense i’ve read the entire manga so ima lightly brush over the less important stuff. later on choso and yuki volenteer to become choso and tengens guards together wich i feel like is where they start getting close. in the manga yuki flashes choso smiles alot and even indirectly stated that he is her type. yuki and choso very clearly care for each other and i feel like yuki is one of the few people choso feels comfortable opening up to. i know i bring up the choos and yuki bar scene in the manga a lot but it’s just such a good example. choso is seen breaking down and telling yuki his feelings whilst she comforts him. he’s literally ugly crying to her and telling her he doesn’t feel human enough and she’s there proving him comfort. yuki even refused to let choso fight kenjaku on his own as she believes he will die if he goes on his own. inevitably yuki ends up dying pushing her teqnique to its limit in hopes of defeating kenjaku. in the panel where yuki gets the hole through her you can see a shot of chosos face in the corner, he looks obviously distraught as he just watched one of the people he cares most about get turned into a donut. yuki ends up dying with her last words being to choso. she used her last living moments to tell choso he is no longer a curse and will live on as a human as she knows choso is worried about being half curse and half human as he doesn’t feel human enough. you can only imagine how that affected choso as his life has already been full of loss. his mother, his brothers, and now yuki. yuki was also the one person he found comfort in and now she’s gone. choso was heartbroken over yukis death and he tired his hardest to honor her passing by inheriting her notes to his younger brother, yuji itadori.
