A lil blurb for @anarchyduck

Ft a small amount of Yuki Sohma x Tohru Honda fluff. Excuse the odd formatting.

The house is cold, when she’s gone - a hollow echo where once there were running footsteps, infectious laughter. It was always glaringly obvious when she was out - especially when Tohru’d been strictly instructed to stay in bed, an early spring cold having bothered her for a week now.  Hatori had been kind but firm, as was his way. Yuki sighs, gathering up his gardening supplies, and sets out towards his secret spot. The leeks should be coming in soon, and he passes the time on the walk there thinking of the dishes he could ask Tohru to teach him to cook. He knew he was a lethal chef but, as with most things, he wanted to learn, become better, grow.  Especially if it came with the added bonus of lessons from Tohru.

Chirping birds and the crunch of leaves underfoot disguised the sound of her voice till he was closer, and It was a surprise to see her there, sitting comfortably in the dirt, clearing out weeds with delicate hands, and chattering away at the picture that rested to one side. Yuki spared a moment, letting her finish what she was saying to her mother before stepping forward.

“Hatori was very clear that you should stay out of the chilly air, Miss Honda.”

She jumped, obviously startled, and held her hands up, waving them at him as she shook her head in an emphatic denial.

“Oh, Yuki!  No, no, Hatori said I could take short trips outside if I was careful to bundle up and only stay out for a little while, and, well, you see I only came out here to check on things quick but I saw that the Leeks were a little weedy so I figured it wouldn’t hurt if I stayed out for a moment and…. What time is it?” she finished meekly, a sheepish grin overtaking her delicate features.

Yuki chuckled, running his free hand through his hair, then held it out to Tohru, an invitation.

“After 5.  Come. Shigure ordered out, and it’ll be here in about an hour.”

Tohru clasped his hand, instantly spreading warmth from her touch up his arm, till it flushed his face, bringing out the smile that made so many at school swoon. They walked home, arm in arm, chatting of silly things, and when they finally reached the front porch Tohru bounced up to the tips of her toes, placing a quick peck on Yuki’s still flushed cheek.

“I’ll go freshen up for dinner. Thank you for walking me home Yuki!”

The boy nodded dumbly, waiting till she had gone inside before reaching up, placing one hand over the spot her lips had brushed so lightly.  

“It looks like our Yuki is a little flustered.  Why would that be, I wonder?”

He looked to his left, where Shigure had been leaning against the house unobtrusively enough so that he hadn’t noticed him coming in.  Two silent seconds later the basket of gardening supplies struck the side of Shigure’s head, leaving him sitting on the porch and complaining about ungrateful teenagers while Yuki followed Tohru inside.

So in honor of the Fruits Basket reboot who would you say are your fave Furuba characters and ships (canon) and why? Least fave Furuba characters and canon ships and why

Let’s start with the characters:

Kyo Sohma

Kyo has been my best friend/brother/child since I read the manga in 2006. (Fun Fact: Fruits Basket was the first manga I read thanks to @peonyprophet). One of the reasons Kyo is a favorite is the following: 

He found his “real” father and was about to accept the fact that you don’t always have to be blood to consider people as your real family or parents. 

He is very personable and caring about people’s feelings. Even though he dislike’s Kagura’s violent ways with him, he knows it’s out of affection and lets her do what she wants. In the manga, he doesn’t want to hold her hand due to being embarrassed, but he knows it would make her happy so does it anyway. 

He is working on loving himself and not trying to to isolate himself due to being the cat (NOTE: Awww the more I talk about Kyo, the more I’m like you and Yuki are almost the same lol). 

He doesn’t want being the cat define him near the end of the series. 

The connections he makes are strong when he wants them to be. 

He is passionate about the things he loves such as martial arts, competitions, and Tohru. AKA when he loves something, he loves HARD. 

He looks like he can kill you but is just a soft boi. 

His softness towards Tohru makes me cry and I hope my future husband looks at me the same way Kyo looks at Tohru. 

Overall, my love for Kyo is mainly due to a connection I had with him. His personality just connected with me so much and now in 2019, I see I connect with him more than ever. 

Isuzu “Rin” Sohma

ARE YOU EVEN READY FOR THIS GIRL? 

If you haven’t read the manga, then I don’t want to spoil it because Rin plays an important part in the second half of the series. 

Rin is one of those people I just want to protect. She is a good person who means well yet misunderstood by the people around her. 

She has been through so much abuse in her life starting at a young age. It’s a horrible backstory but Rin starts to grow as a person when we really start to meet her in the series. 

I want to give her ALL the hugs. 

Her relationship with Tohru out of ALL of the Zodiacs is the best and most healthiest one in the whole series. Similar to Kyo, she doesn’t take from Tohru’s kindness, she wants to give back to Tohru as well by helping her heal. The learn from each other and embrace each other’s faults and weaknesses. 

Horses aren’t meant to be tamed and Rin doesn’t allow the same to happen to her. 

All of her outfits are bomb af. 

She’s SUPER loyal and though she tends to push people away to protect them, she has a soft nature to her over all and will fight by your side if needed. 

She deserves the WORLD and I will fight for her. (And so would Haru)

Rin is everything and I can’t wait to cry when she makes an appliance in the new anime. 

Kisa Sohma

She wants the best for the ones she loves and cares about.

Yuki Sohma Love

Kinda spoils here!!!!!!!!!!

I have never liked Yuki x Machi. Everything with this ship felt like a after thought to me. To me, Yuki seemed to flirt with Tohru in the beginning of ther series. Then he truly seemed to fall in love with her and they shared some deep moments together. It really did seem like both Yuki and Kyo where falling for Tohru and it was a love triangle. But then the author decided Kyo would be the one ending up with Tohru. After that out of no reason, Yuki's love story suddenly changed. He only loved her because "he saw her as a mother figure". Machi was thrown in there. Machu also just always felt like a replacement for Torhu. Again, she came out of nowhere and looks a whole lot like tohru. It's not like this author didn't know how to make different looking characters. They all look different. But Machi... Machi looks too much like Tohru to me. Maybe the new anime can change some on these points of view for me as it goes on. But even now, Yuki still seemed to flirt and fall in love with Tohru in the new anime.
