One of the surprise events of my Tokyo trip: Matsuzaki Akemi’s exhibition. Actually a few weeks ago I read on her blog that she’s planning something, but I totally forgot to check later when and where. Then in the Ichijou Yukari exhibition I found a poster about it, and it turned out it was the last day! I had to re-do my plans for the day and I went to check it out. It was on the second floor of a used book store and completely free. As it turned out Matsuzaki sensei was there too! I really should have taken more pics of the exhibition, there were a lot more stuff and all gorgeous! Twitter has more, check it out if you like.

The biggest surprise was that they were selling genga! Not copies, but real ones and for an incredibly low price: around 2160 for a normal page, 2700 for one with close-ups, and although there were no frontispieces anymore, even those were 3240! I was so surprised, especially because our museum is an institute specializing in archiving genga, but sensei was totally okay with selling them. Of course all three were works were collected in tankoubon (speak, it can be reprinted anytime, as nowadays they rather use tankoubon for that not the manuscripts, because manuscripts deteriorate more), and while I didn’t check the others, the one I was buying from was even digitalized. Because yeah, if I was there I bought a page, it’s in the last pic - I liked the impact of the page ^^ Sensei even signed it~ Afterwards I thought I should have bought more pages, but oh well *sigh*

The work is Komorebi no uta, published in Bessatsu Nakayoshi sometime in the 70s - I couldn’t find out yet when, I will probably have to check the magazines in Tokyo one day. The tankoubon the manga was published in can be read for free online here or here! (Now I only have to find a way to save the pics, because I don’t trust online comic sites to keep things up forever...). Btw the first story, Time date is something I encountered during my research reading old magazines :D

If you ordered something at the cafe you also got a double sided color print, too - forgot to take a pic of that, so will post it at a later time.

Troupe Report is a Kageki feature where an appointed reporter will write about current events in the troupe or ask troupe members for questions to answers sent in by readers. Reporters are generally only replaced on retirement, unlike other backstage features that rotate monthly or quarterly.

Star Troupe’s Troupe Report has been written by Kisaragi Ren since 2015. The June 2017 edition features questions for the leading members of the troupe and backstage anecdotes.
