SCIENTIST COULDN'T HIDE HIS DISAPPOINTMENT AFTER DISCOVERING ANCIENT PH...
youtube
There are so many things that irritated the heck out of me about this video. First of all nothing surprises me about people who believes in scientific racism which pins Black Indigenous People as inferior with low IQ's and if anyone believes in this rubbish is the ones with the low IQ.
Even this Black African who is presenting the video uses the word minority, what the heck did that come from? How do you get a minority out of humans in the first place unless you too believe in race science?
What is wrong with some of the Black People on earth today? Do they not do any type of research on their own? Do they even study anatomy and nature? This is very easy to realize that there's no separation of humanity no way possible can we even try to do this and be correct.
If you believe in this you are broadcasting to the world that you are a complete idiot and have no idea of how our natural world function. You missed the elementary biology class on mitosis and meiosis and how sexual selection works along with reproductive life. Yes, you will have to be the dumbest mother fucker on the planet to believe in that shit of being a different species of humans.
Only people who are this dumb are shit people who calls themselves white and those shit people who believes in creationism, no one else on earth can be this stupid.

It is becoming increasingly clear to me that many people on this site get their opinions on the apparent scourge of edgy far-right atheists not from actually talking to any atheists, but from just assuming that any random edgelord they see online is an atheist and forming their opinions from there
#a couple of shitty youtubers does not a scourge make#i'm still so mad about that one cryptotheism post blaming atheists for jordan peterson the noted christofascist tbh#there's also a post from someone i otherwise respect referring to atheists who 'worship elon musk'. like . . . no?#literally who are you talking about. unless you just assume any 'techbro' on twitter is an atheist based on Vibes of course#and of course the other side of this coin is labeling anyone who openly talks about their atheism in any way as “evangelical”#atheism#skepticism umbrella

I do think a good chunk of the 'cringey atheist' stereotype did come from the fact that, especially americans, regardless of their actual religious status are just casually christian and refer to things through a religious filter and that isn't seen for how overwhelming/obnoxious/frustrating it is. Its absense, such as when writing a story and things like "oh god" or other casual references are remove or replaced, is seen as notable the same way people find the cast being all women or queer being 'abnormal'.
And I think more people, especially here on tumblr, should take a moment from ragging on some kid being "cringey" saying god doesn't exist or making atheist jump around like dancing monkeys to establish they're one of the good respectful ones before they ever even begin to talk about their own thoughts, and examine why so much content just inserts god into a conversation that had nothing to do with religion like it's the expected norm, the same way they examine the invasiveness of casual heteronormativity.
#this is just cause an ex christian youtuber i otherwise like refers to any extreme emotional experience as a 'religious experience'#as if everyone can agree on it being so#and theres more than a few posts on here that make me wonder why#so many people are incapable of making something 'poetic' or 'great' without invoking religious imagery#even where it had no relevance#atheism#anyways#ive seen uncomfortably similar treatment that aces in particular have received for pointing out amatonormativity in a post#its rare these days though because atheists have long since been thuroughly shamed in american society as being edgy#which like wooow a christian nation that shames every other religion in some way found a way to shame nonreligious too? shocking#actually i get kinda annoyed when i think about it its one of those propaganda that people casually buy into#without examining it at all#youll see atheists acting like dancing monkeys trying to establish theyre not cringe guys its okay#just to talk about how they feel and think#i remember being a young adult and when someone started talking to me with the assumption of god being in the picture#and id get an eye roll like i was being childish not going along with it nevermind they inserted god into the convo in the first place#without question or comment#and i know it wasnt forceful the same way some ex religious folks can get a bit zealous the same way they were about religion#which theres something to eb said for that zealousness being acceptable when christian but not when atheist or another religion#but ive never gone through such a phase my family has been atheist for several generations now and we were taught to respect beliefs#anyways sorry idk why this is on my brain this afternoon i think i saw a post or smth and it reminded me of that youtuber

Practically very time I see any JW propaganda I genuinely wonder how anyone can say that "all religious beliefs should be respected" because you simply can't do that while also not disrespecting other people's religious beliefs or erasing people's basic human rights.
For example, to fully respect the Christian faith, I'd have to disrespect all other religions, to fully respect JWs I'd have to disrespect the existence and humanity of LGBT people.
A belief being religious does NOT make it any more deserving of respect than literally any other belief system.
If someone's religion tells them to occasionally fast as part of their religion, I will respect that, that's their choice and their right. However if that same religion demands I as a LGBT person am not allowed to exist openly and to marry someone of the same gender, or to get HRT and surgery to transition I don't respect that one fucking bit.
If someone's religion says they aren't allowed to eat or drink specific foods/drinks, that's fine, I respect that, that's their choice. However if someone's religion says that I someone who is not part of their religion shouldn't be allowed to eat or drink the things they aren't allowed to eat or drink, I don't respect that. I am not bound by the rules of YOUR religion.
Let me repeat that, I am not bound by the rules of your religion.
I know that's not exactly what the video is about, but it just got me thinking about that.
And while I personally believe the world would be far better off if religion wasn't a part of it, I can accept that religion is here to stay and will very likely NEVER go away. However with that being said, it's continued existence doesn't mean I have to validate or respect the beliefs that come with it, especially when those beliefs are harmful to others.

This Verse Secretly Undermines All of Christianity...
youtube
I just saw this and thought I would process it on my own.
This YouTuber doesn't sound like he's explored much beyond mainstream Western Christianity. He makes the bold statement that EVERY Christian sect finds indispensable the idea that Christ died on the Cross "for our sins". Period.
For the longest time I found that challenging too. He goes on to talk about many of the same things I've asked, "Why couldn't God just forgive us outright? Why must he go through a generational pageant to do something the God of the Universe could have done of his own accord in the first place?"
You can say this is a dumb question. I've been told this many times.
Yet I have never been the only one asking this.
Many, if not all Atheists ask this question. Frankly, many "Christian" answers sound a little unhinged.
Now, I don't think that his examples necessarily contradict the prevailing point of view though. All anyone has to do is look at the banking industry to see that credit on future earnings is a valid payment method. Now it's true that modern banking, and especially credit, wasn't developed until the European Jews, unable to make a living any other way, started lending during the medieval period. Jesuits came up with the idea of insurance, which didn't technically fall under the prohibition against usury. And with ongoing innovation, modern financial markets developed.
None of these, of course, would have been understood by the local people of Jesus' time and place.
What was understood was life and death.
And this is where I found my peace.
Sins can easily be forgiven, but sickness and eventual death? That's a whole other nut to crack. Now, to be clear, unfortunately even the most traditional Christian communities have started to obsess about how SIN must be atoned!
But there is a strain in the oldest Christian traditions that it wasn't primarily sin that was destroyed on the cross, but rather death, disease, corruption (of which sin is a derivation to be sure, but not the point).
Now it's easy to look around and say - "Look! it didn't work." I myself have had to say good bye to both my parents over the last several months.
However, there is a resurrection that is promised. And if Christ has done what he said he did, then there WILL be a general resurrection.
The key is to be prepared for that resurrection. Now we could go on about which denomination is best prepared, but I have little faith in denominationalism. I think it's a means to conquer and divide the faithful, pitting follower against follower. Soon the God who's being worshiped isn't the most High God, but the Deceiver who encourages us all to call each other heretics. I do not think most "Christians" are Christian, but rather following their own wisdom (1 Timothy 6:3-5, 2 Thessalonians 2:11, Matthew 7:13-14, Matthew 24:11).
Now I may be a false teacher myself for thinking such a thing and putting it out there, but I have faith that God will know his own. And while he loves the rest, and has given them life, that life will be so much less for the fact that they reject what he's given them.
I find the idea of a river of fire helpful - Moses and the Glory of God (Exodus 33:20-23), speaks to the idea that to human senses, God is Fire. The Story of the Three Holy Youths (Daniel 3) has also been seen as an illustration of man abiding in the presence of fire, as a proxy for God, unharmed. Pentecost is God's fire experienced by the faithful after his resurrection. How will Gods fire be experienced by the unfaithful?
I have no idea, but I doubt that it will be pleasant (Luke 16:19-31).
In short, I feel this video failed to land it's point. There's enough diversity in Christianity to survive this argument, though I do not think that most modern Christians are open to my resolution.
Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Have mercy upon me, a sinner.

Tom Lehrer turned 96 yesterday.
Lyrics
Oh, the white folks hate the black folks And the black folks hate the white folks To hate all but the right folks Is an old established rule
But during National Brotherhood Week National Brotherhood Week Lena Home and Sheriff Clarke are dancing cheek to cheek It's fun to eulogize The people you despise As long as you don't let 'em in your school
Oh, the poor folks hate the rich folks And the rich folks hate the poor folks All of my folks hate all of your folks It's American as apple pie
But during National Brotherhood Week National Brotherhood Week New Yorkers love the Puerto Ricans 'cause it's very chic Step up and shake the hand Of someone you can't stand You can tolerate him if you try
Oh, the Protestants hate the Catholics And the Catholics hate the Protestants And the Hindus hate the Moslems And everybody hates the Jews
But during National Brotherhood Week National Brotherhood Week It's National Everyone-smile-at-one-another-hood Week Be nice to people who Are inferior to you It's only for a week, so have no fear Be grateful that it doesn't last all year

SHAMEFUL: This Time Trump Uses The Black Church To Lie, Cuss, Insult And...
youtube
I've never in my life seen anyone who goes through extreme measures to be accepted by people who hate your very existence and this disheartening truth is with all people who aren't considered as being white.
This idea of whiteness and Christianity is the greatest of all evilness against innocent Black Indigenous People globally and yet many of them seek to be part of these evils. I guess if you can get people to believe that a reptile can talk, you can get people to believe in anything.

Although the battle lines have shifted down through the years from heliocentrism to evolution (and let’s not get started on the age of the Earth), it feels like there’s a fundamental conflict between science and religion, especially with respect to the Abrahamic religions like Christianity and Islam. I (Christina), the host of this podcast episode, as a scientist and atheist who tends to assume all scientists are atheists—because how could they not be?—am definitely guilty of thinking this.
Yet, there is a long tradition of curiosity, inquiry, and, yes, science within the Abrahamic religions and no shortage of devout scientists working hard to this day to understand the workings of the world and cosmos. I decided that it was time to confront my assumptions by talking to one of my religious colleagues. Thank you in advance to Dr Norm Nelson—an oceanographer whose Christianity is a core part of his life—for discussing whether or not there is a conflict between science and Christianity, and where the roots of that conflict might lie.
