Barbecue sauce is good with almost any meat...save money and make your own nutritious BBQ sauce in VitaClay! Ingredients: 1 tablespoon bacon grease, walnut or coconut oil 1 large onion, finely chopped 3 tablespoons minced garlic 3 tablespoons honey 1 5-6 oz can tomato paste 1 cup chicken or beef broth 2 t mustard or ½ t mustard powder 2 tablespoons cider vinegar salt and pepper, to taste 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce; pinch cayenne pepper Directions: 1. Saute onion and garlic in oil until translucent, 3-5 minutes 2. Add this mixture to tomato paste and honey in the clay pot, stir. 3. Add all other ingredients, stirring until smooth. 4. Set to "stew" for 1 hour. 5. Serve, dip or jar. Keeps for 2-3 weeks in the refrigerator. This long-grain rice and #orzo is #simmered in #nutrientdense #homemade #bonebroth with #hazelnuts and #mushrooms and seasoned with #parsley and marjoram. We created this to incorporate two of our favorites: hazelnuts and mushrooms. It combines #rice , orzo pasta, and lots of other goodies - very #delicious ! Do I deserve a #MichelinStar or what?! Ingredients: 1/4 c #butter 1/2 c uncooked long-grain rice 1/4 c uncooked #orzopasta 1/2 c sliced fresh mushrooms 1/2 c chopped onion 1/4 c minced celery 5 c #broth 2 T chopped fresh #parsley 1/4 t dried #marjoram 1/4 t ground #blackpepper 1/2 c chopped toasted hazelnuts Directions: Place a large skillet over medium-low heat. Melt butter, then sauté rice, orzo, mushrooms, onion, and celery. Stir constantly until rice is lightly browned. Transfer the above contents into your VitaClay cooker. Mix in broth, parsley, marjoram, pepper, and hazelnuts. Set VitaClay cooker on “Stew” and cook for 30 minutes. Serve when the cooker switched to WARM cycle or let the pilaf stay in WARM cycle for 10 to 15 minutes before serving.
