It’s so crazy how much a year can do to you. I’m a true believer that time can’t heal you. It’s what you do with the time you have. You can stay stuck or figure out a way to heal. ⁣

I gotta say it has not been easy for me but man I’m so happy I went through all that hardship. This contentment I feel now was the feeling I wanted a year ago. I wanted to skip all the heartache and dark times but that’s not how time works. I’ve learned so much more about myself and I pray that God continue to pour more love and clarity into me. ⁣

If I could hug myself from a year ago, I would. There’s no promise that I won’t go through another hardship but at least I’ll know how to handle it or avoid it. I’ll continue to grow through any obstacles that comes my way.

As another year has passed my reflections/advice: 1. Your kids grow up so fast. Enjoy your family time and don’t let anything take precedence over them. Letting them become independent is a journey and you will shed tears. 2. Marriage is a partnership. There are always great times and there are always bad times. Communicate!!! Spend a week together alone. Stay connected by growing together. Hold hands!! 3. Being a business owner is hard, but if you want it, do it. Don’t sell yourself, just be yourself. People will either connect or they won’t and either is acceptable. 4. Money isn’t everything. Once you realize this it will open your eyes to a whole new world. Work because you want to and not because you have to. Be passionate about what you are doing and have goals. 5. Change is inevitable. It sucks and is hard. Accept it and look for the positive rather then the negative.
